Blurb

I’ve learned that not everything is what it seems. If you start to look too close, you uncover things people don’t want you to see. It’s why I hide. It’s why no one knows the real me. But he sees me. He sees the darkness in my heart but he’s not afraid, because he’s like me. They say opposites attract, but we’re proof that like-and-like are a far more potent combination.

Novalee Clarke is hiding from a past she wants to leave behind, and Jacen Kensington is running from his.

The thing about hiding and running is eventually the thing you’re trying to escape catches up to you.

And when it does?

It changes everything.

Author Bio

Hi. I’m Micalea. Ma-call-e-uh. Weird name, I know. My mom must’ve known I was going to be odd even in the womb. I’ve written a lot of books. Like a lot. Don’t ask me how many, I don’t remember at this point. I have an unhealthy addiction to Diet Coke but I can’t seem to break the habit. I listen to way too much music and hedgehogs have taken over my life. Crazy is the word that best sums up my life, but it’s the good kind of crazy and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

RELEASE BLITZ ~ Put Out (Kilgore Fire series #5) by Lani Lynn Vale

Title: Put Out
Series: Kilgore Fire Series #5
Genre: Romantic Suspense

Release Date: January 26, 2017
Cover Model: Matthew Hosea
Photographer: Furious Fotog

Angie is a survivor. Anything you could throw at her, she could overcome.

After her father left her like a pile of unwanted trash, she began fighting. Fighting to build a life. Fighting to keep her child. Fighting to matter.

She thought she had it all figured out.

Then Bowen Race Tannenbaum walks into her life, turning it into a flurry of confusion, hope, and then ultimately despair. He tore down, brick-by-brick, her carefully constructed world, leaving her heart in tatters and longing for more. Such as a happily ever after, something that wasn’t ever going to happen for her. Not when she couldn’t give him what he wanted. He’d break her, and she couldn’t be put back together a second time.

Bowe wasn’t always so jaded, but when you keep drawing a losing hand, it tends to affect a man. He didn’t mean to lash out so carelessly. But he was so over being told no. He was done being lied to. He was through with being cheated on.

This time, his heart was getting what it wanted. If Angie wasn’t able to see what he was offering, what was right here in front of her, well then, he’d just have to damn well show her.

I headed toward the yelling. The closer I got, the louder it became.

At first I wasn’t sure what it was. Then the closer I got, the more I realized that it was someone cheering. Some sort of competition from the sound of it.

The moment I rounded the corner of the firehouse, I could see what everyone was cheering and yelling about.

The firehouse stood on a large hill or sorts, and the moment I cleared the building, I could see down into the valley below the hill, not far, but far enough that I could see over the men’s heads, straight for the obstacle course below.

Bowe had already started his testing.

Feeling like shit that I’d left him with Elise too long, and he’d had to bring her with him, I automatically started scanning for her, and found her with PD.

Once I saw that she was happy, I moved my gaze back to the course, and was amazed by how fast Bowe was moving.

A man was also running with him, and upon closer inspection, I realized it was Booth.

Booth, I’d heard, held the best time on the course.

And it looked like Bowe was holding his own.

He wasn’t winning, no, but for him being off for so long, I thought he was doing pretty damn good.

Then instead of taking the last flight of stairs with his patient, he jumped over the side, cradling the dummy.

It, of course, wouldn’t work in real life.

Not with someone that was sick or in need of life saving measures.

But it worked for now.

Laughing out loud, I yelled.

“Go, Bowe! Go!” I screamed, cupping my hands around my mouth to project the sound further.

He didn’t hear me over the crowd, but my daughter did.

She turned her head, and immediately started to clap her hands as she realized it was me.

Grinning from ear to ear, I walked towards her, glancing over her shoulder at Bowe as I moved.

I weaved through the throng of men, some firefighters

Bowe had just crossed the finish line, Booth very close at his heels, when I reached Elise.

“Hey there, baby,” I cooed.

She giggled, but didn’t hold her hands out for me, so I chose to let PD hold her for a few more seconds as I turned to the field.

That’s when I saw Bowe.

Shirtless.

Laughing his ass off while he shook Booth’s hand, who, conveniently, was also shirtless.

Both men were wiping sweat out of their faces with their shirts, talking about what I’d guess was the course they’d just run, when Bowe’s eyes lifted and found mine.

I waved, and he grinned, full out.

His beard and sweat slickened hair made him look rough and delicious, and I wanted to freakin’ throw myself at him.

I had a little bit of decorum, though, and managed to give him a small peck on the cheek the moment he arrived at my side.

“When did you get here?” he asked, slightly out of breath.

I started to lean back when he started to lean forward, and his eyes started to dance as he moved with me.

“About two minutes ago,” I giggled when he captured me around the waist and hauled me against him.

“My wife doesn’t kiss me like that when I’m sweaty,” a man from my side whined.

Yes, a grown man with six foot two inches of solid muscle, whined.

I gave him a look, which clearly, he read, causing him to grin.

“The name’s Luke.” He offered me his hand. “And I’m the SWAT team leader.”

I shook his offered hand and dropped it after two pumps, trying in vain to disentangle my body from Bowe’s.

“The problem, old man, is that you give her a choice,” another, a redhead this time, called from somewhere behind me.

“Miller,” someone said. “Mercy would kick your ass if she thought you were not letting her have her way.”

BLP REVIEW ~ Tracy

I LOVE the Kilgore Fire books from Lani Lynn Vale and I was kinda sad going into Put Out knowing that this was the last in the series….. but LLV has loads of great new reads coming so that’s the upside!
Put Out was a really great read – emotional, funny, sweet and . Bowen is a fantastic guy; he’s a sweetheart, patient, loyal and caring (even though he’s not been lucky in love and has been burned in the past) but on the flip side he’s still got that hot, protective, possessive alpha thing going on.
Angie is feisty and funny, independent and hard working but definitely lacks trust when it comes to guys – understandable when you read about her ex and how she’s been treated by others in her past! She tries to dissuade Bowe from any thoughts of them getting together but the man has his mind set on her and nothing she says will put him off…

This pair are so good together, the attraction is there from the beginning and there’s no lack of heat and sexual tension when ever they are near each other…. Bowe didn’t push Angie, knowing that she wasn’t ready but he wasn’t shy in letting her know exactly what and who he wanted! The banter between the pair was great and LLV had us rooting for them from the start! When they did finally get on the same page they were smokin’ hot!

The side story about the ex was a tad over the top at times but I could flow with it – let’s face it, that’s what getting lost in a book is all about, isn’t it? There was a bit of family drama – man I could have smacked a couple of people a time or two – and a lot of sweetness when it came to Bowe and the guys interactions with Angie’s little one. I loved catching up with the other guys (and their ladies) from previous books and hope that we see them again at some point – even if it’s just a crossover with one of Lani’s other series!

This is a series I’ll go back and read again and Put Out gets 5 fiery stars from me!!

“Is everything okay, Ry?”

The moonlight filtering in through the narrow slit in the curtains painted her skin with a soft, silvery light. Her eyes were darker than
he’d ever seen them and he had to curl his hands into fists to keep from reaching for her.

“Everything’s fine, Bree,” he lied.

Even to his own ears, the words sounded hollow.

“Then why aren’t you talking to me? Why don’t you seem to want to look at me anymore?”

She was trying to torture him.

Slowly, he reached out and skimmed the back of his fingers down her cheek, careful to keep the touch light.

“We’re talking now. I’m looking at you now.”

“And you’re ready to haul ass out of here,” she said, looking wounded.

“Because if I don’t—” He snapped his jaw shut before the rest of the words could slip out, but he’d said too much already.

Her eyes widened. “If you don’t, what?”

“Bree.” Her name came out a low rasp. “Go to bed, okay? Go in there with your son and go to sleep.”

“I’ll go to bed when I damn well want.” She poked him in the chest with her finger. “How about you answer me now?”

He caught her wrist.

She tugged, and reflexively, he tugged back harder.

She crashed against his chest and the warm, soft weight of her had him biting back a groan.

She splayed the fingers of her left hand against his chest. He could feel her pulse bounding madly against his thumb. Slowly, he stroked that rapid beat, staring into her eyes.

“Everything’s wrong,” he said without thinking. “I can’t even go into detail about most of it, but the worst thing is that you’re here and I can’t touch you. I need you like I need my next breath. I always have. But you’re just as out of reach now as you’ve been for the past ten years.”

He started to let her go, telling himself he’d lock himself in the bathroom for the next hour, maybe longer. Or maybe he’d just go back
downstairs and sleep in the torture device of a chair.

But, although he let go of Bree’s hand, she didn’t let go of him. The hand on his chest curled, fisting in his shirt and she moved closer.

“Who says you can’t touch me? Who says I’m out of reach?”

Her eyes lingered on his mouth and a groan rumbled out of him.

“Don’t,” he said, shaking his head.

“Don’t what?” She leaned in and kissed his chin.

The threads of his control started to snap like tension wires that threatened to cut and slice and wound as they broke.

Back away. Don’t touch, he told himself.

But he didn’t do that. He slid a hand into her hair and twisted the thick, heavy curls around his fingers. “You should go back to bed, Bree,” he said thickly.

“And you should let me decide what I should and shouldn’t do.”

Then she leaned in and kissed him.

Her tongue slid along his lower lip.

She dragged her hands down his chest and caught the front of his shirt, tugging it free of the waistband of his trousers. “I want you naked,” she said against his mouth. “I want your hands on me and I want to be naked.”

“Bree…”

She tipped her head back and met his eyes in the darkened room.

“We…” He shook his head rapidly. “Don’t do this, okay?”

“Why not?”

“Because I…” Air coming in ragged bursts, he tried to think of the most logical explanation.

Because once wasn’t enough? Because he didn’t know how to handle this? Because…because…

There was a logical reason and he knew it.

But then Bree kissed him and the thought of logic died in a shuddering explosion.

Wrapping his arms around her, he pulled her up against him.

F*ck Club: Con
(Book Two)
Release Date: March 24th 2017

Rule #2…Respect the ladies.

Conner Steele has nothing but respect for ladies. He absolutely adores them and takes more than a little bit of pride in his job—or rather, his former job.

After a run-in with a cop, former male escort Con, along with his brother Riley and best friend Shame, decided it might just be best to hang up their…hats and retire from the business of being paid to pleasure.

After all, they have a profitable business going with their new pub. No reason to ruin a good thing and Con is more than happy to keep pleasing the ladies—just…no longer as a job. Finding a date or company for the night has never been an issue for him, either. He’s been told more than once that he can charm a tiger out of its stripes. But lately a new hire at the bar is turning the tables on him—she is the one charming him, twisting him up into knots and getting him so worked up, he can barely see straight.

In his rather expert opinion, Shawntelle Callahan is nothing less than a queen.

And she’s a queen on a mission, too. Even as tangled up as he is over her, he can see that. First she tries to coax him out of retirement
for one last engagement. When that doesn’t work, she sets out to drive him crazy. After finally admitting that she’s a writer who’s looking to do a story on male escorts, Con realizes it will be best to just stay away from Shawntelle. Sure, she says she’s just looking for some hands-on information but he knows there’s more to it than that. There are secrets in her eyes, barely hidden lies and doubt.
