Rosewood Bay Series, Book 1
Carly Phillips

Release Date Mar. 20, 2018

Fall in love with the Wards…

Mechanic and garage owner, Kane Harmon is used to the wealthy beautiful women visiting his beach town. He doesn’t get involved because he knows most females would merely be slumming for the summer.

Except Halley Ward isn’t just passing through. She lives a solitary life in a bungalow on the beach. A woman tormented by her past, distant from her wealthy family, different from Kane’s usual fare of town girls who know his M.O.- Don’t expect more than he’s willing to give.

Kane rescues Halley and her broken down car from the side of the road and instantly he’s hooked. She says she’s not interested in him. He knows she lies. And he makes it his mission to bring her back to life, to return her emotionally to her family. To show her the colors around her were as vibrant as the ones she puts on her canvas.

Until past meets present and threatens all the progress they’ve made. Then it’s Halley’s turn to step up and stand up for the relationship and life she’s finally coming to believe she deserves.

He pulled it out and glanced at the screen to find a text from Halley. Sold painting to NYC gallery owner!

The fact that she bothered to text him about her good news was huge and he grinned. Celebration is in order, he texted back.

A few hours later, Kane walked up the front steps to Halley’s instead of going around the back the way he usually did when he came to work. He’d stopped by Andi’s place of work and left with a bouquet of flowers, so he strode up the walk and rang her doorbell, planning to surprise her and hopefully take her out for dinner instead of having her cook for them both.

Although he loved her meals and the fact that she didn’t mind cooking for him, he wanted to go out with her in public. To expose her to more of the world, and he didn’t want her to have a chance to say no over the phone or via text.

He rang the bell. It took a while for her to open the door, and when she did, she looked surprised to see him.

She held Monty in her arms. “Kane! Why didn’t you come around to the deck?”

He pulled the flowers from behind his back and held them out for her.

Her expression softened as she took in the bouquet. “They’re beautiful! Thank you,” she said, accepting the wild flowers.

He’d opted for a more casual bunch instead of roses because they reminded him of her spirit. Harnessed but waiting to be set free.

“How’s the little man?” he asked, petting the dog’s head.

“He’s great. So to what do I owe the pleasure of your company?” she asked.

“Well, I was hoping to convince you to let me take you to dinner.”

She stepped back and eyed him, looking him over from head to toe. “And that explains the nice jeans and the button-down shirt. Looking good, Mr. Harmon. Very good.”

Her expression told him she liked what she saw and he grinned. “So what do you say?” he asked. “Let me take you out to celebrate your sale.”

She grinned at that. “I’m really not dressed to go out.” She gestured to the oversized tee shirt she often wore to paint.

He shrugged. “I can wait while you shower or wash up. No problem.” He wasn’t looking to give her an out.

“If you’re sure you don’t mind waiting.”

He shook his head. For her? He could wait a lifetime, a revelation that should have shocked him but didn’t. His feelings for her were real and had been building from the beginning. Acknowledging them now felt right.

Falling in love could expose a woman in hiding, in the fourth Ace Security novel from New York Times bestselling author Susan Stoker.

Castle Rock isn’t Felicity’s home. Like her false identity, it’s just a cover. All she wants is enough cash to keep moving to another temporary hideaway—to stay on the run from a secret that’s haunted her for years. As safe as Ryder’s strong embrace makes her feel, she fears that falling for him, and staying in Colorado, will put everyone she’s come to love in danger.

The more Ryder learns about Felicity, the more determined he is not to let her go. It’s time for her to stop running—even as a relentless danger closes in, threatening their love and their lives.

Excerpt 1:

When the door to the office opened, Felicity wasn’t surprised to see Grace and her husband enter. And Blake and Nathan. She had no idea who the other man was, but she barely glanced at him. She turned to frown at Cole.

“Great. Now it’s five against one. You think intimidation will work? You should know me better than that.”

The unknown man pushed through the others to stand by her side. “Five against two.”

Felicity gaped at him. “Who the fuck are you?”

He held out his hand as if they were in the middle of a formal gathering. “Ryder Sinclair. And you?”

Felicity’s hand was moving before she could call it back. Manners her mom had instilled in her at an early age were hard to overcome. “Felicity Jones.”

The second Ryder gripped her hand, Felicity knew she was in trouble. His hand was warm, but not sweaty. He didn’t squeeze her hand too hard, but used just the right amount of pressure as he shook her hand. But more than that, the second he touched her, goose bumps raced down her arms. She had the feeling that if she threw herself into his arms, he’d keep her safe. She couldn’t take her eyes off his hazel ones. He looked familiar. She stiffened. Shit, had she met him before? “Have we met?” she blurted out as she tried to drop his hand.

Instead of looking offended or put out by her question, he merely shook his head and refused to let go. “No, we haven’t met . . . much to my disappointment. But we know each other now.”

Felicity felt a strong urge to burrow into his chest and let him take care of her. He was taller than she was by a couple of inches, the perfect height for her head to rest comfortably on his broad shoulder, but she straightened her spine and used her free hand to pry his fingers off her instead of throwing herself into his arms. She was an island. Couldn’t rely on anyone. Not if she wanted to keep them safe.

Excerpt 2:

It had been a week since he’d last kissed her, but he remembered every second of that first kiss as if it had just happened. He hadn’t thought anything could top it, but he was wrong. This kiss was the best he’d ever experienced. Ryder had a feeling that every touch of his lips to hers would top the one before it. He wanted a lifetime of her taste on his lips.

Her head tilted, giving him more room, and he didn’t hesitate to take advantage. His tongue speared through her lips, tangling with hers, memorizing her feel and taste. One hand moved to her nape to hold her against him, and the other trailed down her body and came to rest on her breast, right over her heart. He didn’t grope her, merely wanted to feel the beat of her heart under his hand.

They kissed for several minutes. Neither willing to be the first to pull away. Felicity participated in the kiss the same way she did everything else . . . with all she had. She didn’t meekly sit there and let him kiss her—her tongue pushed against his and learned every inch of his mouth. When he growled, she moaned right back. She took what she wanted.

And it was hot as hell.

Excerpt 1

“What is up with the two of you?” Alexis asked quietly two hours later.

Felicity looked down at the baby in her arms so she didn’t have to look at Alexis and shrugged. “What do you mean?”

“Don’t play dumb, girl. You and Ryder have been stealing glances at each other all afternoon.

“It’s complicated,” Felicity told her.

“It’s really not,” Alexis argued.

“It is. Besides, I haven’t known him that long.”

“I knew the first time I saw Blake that he was the man for me,” Alexis said without a trace of self-consciousness.

Felicity gaped at her. “You did?”

“Yup. And he only saw me as an annoying younger chick who he had to work with.”

“There’s no way. He loves you.”

“He does,” Alexis agreed. “Now. But when he first met me, he thought I was a rich spoiled brat who was fucking around and only wanted to work at Ace Security for some reason he didn’t know or understand.”

“Wow. What changed?”

Alexis shrugged. “I guess he got to know me. Saw how much I enjoyed what I did. That I wasn’t going to up and quit.” She flipped her light-brown hair behind her shoulder and smirked. “Then he took a look at all this”—she indicated her curvy body with a hand—“and couldn’t resist.”

Both women chuckled.

“It’s different with me and Ryder. I think he’s just . . .” Felicity’s voice trailed off. She didn’t know what Ryder was. “He’s one of those guys who wants to make sure everyone is safe. He doesn’t like injustice.”

Excerpt 2

Ryder ran a hand through his hair, and he looked away from her for the first time. Felicity had been confused and nervous when she’d woken up, but it was nothing compared to how she was feeling now. A pit formed in her belly, and she felt her hands begin to shake. “What happened?” she asked in a whisper.

Ryder looked back at her then, and she felt Blake’s hand press into her calf. Felicity steeled herself.

“Nate is gone.”

Felicity blinked. “What?”

“Nate. Joseph drugged you, then entered your apartment and took Nate. We know it was him because the external cameras showed him clearly. Fucker even made a point to look up, straight into the lens, and smirk as he was leaving.”

“But you found him, right?”

Ryder merely shook his head.

Felicity stared at him for a moment, then her gaze swung to Blake. “Joseph has called, though, hasn’t he? To tell you how much money he wants?”

She felt Ryder’s finger on her chin as he gently forced her to look at him. “Joseph hasn’t called, love. Nate’s been gone for twenty hours. We don’t know where he is and have no leads.”

Felicity blinked. Then promptly began to hyperventilate. This was her worst fear come to life. Someone else she loved had been hurt because of her. Grace and Logan had to be devastated. God, the twins had been put under her care, and she’d failed them. Utterly. Tears sprang to her eyes, and there was no way she could hold them back. Not hiding them or even trying to wipe them away, Felicity looked up at Ryder helplessly.

Carolyn Brown

The Sometimes Sisters

Release Date February 27, 2018

A bittersweet inheritance reunites three estranged sisters in a novel of family, trust, and forgiveness from New York Times bestselling author Carolyn Brown.

When they were growing up, Dana, Harper, and Tawny thought of themselves as “sometimes sisters.” They connected only during the summer month they’d all spend at their grandmother’s rustic lakeside resort in north Texas. But secrets started building, and ten years have passed since they’ve all been together—in fact, they’ve rarely spoken, and it broke their grandmother’s heart.

Now she’s gone, leaving Annie’s Place to her granddaughters—twelve cabins, a small house, a café, a convenience store, and a lot of family memories. It’s where Dana, Harper, and Tawny once shared so many good times. They’ve returned, sharing only hidden regrets, a guarded mistrust, and haunting guilt. But now, in this healing summer place, the secrets that once drove them apart could bring them back together—especially when they discover that their grandmother may have been hiding something, too…

To overcome the past and find future happiness, these “sometimes sisters” have one more chance to realize they are always family.

The Sometimes Sisters
Release Day Feb 27, 2018

“The sometimes sisters,” Dana said. “That’s what we called ourselves when we came to see Granny in the summertime. I’m sure not Cinderella, and they are my half sisters, not my stepsisters.”

“Okay, then.” Brook sighed. “But I’m glad you’re stayin’ in here and I get the room where we always slept when we came to visit. It’s strange, her not being here.”

Dana thought she’d cried until there were no more tears, but when she noticed that old, familiar quilt folded and lying across the foot of Granny’s bed, the dam wouldn’t hold. She sat down in the wooden rocker where she’d seen Granny rock both Harper and Tawny so many times and let the grief surface again.

Brook rushed over to her and cried with her, right on the floor in front of the chair. “We’ve got to stop this, Mama. This is going to wear us both out. Let’s talk about something else, like where I’ll be going to school.”

“Frankston—it’s a public school.” Dana dried Brook’s face with the sleeve of her knit shirt.

“That little bitty town that we came through?” Brook’s voice squeaked on the last word.

“It’s where I went until I finished eighth grade. It didn’t kill me to go there, and I don’t expect that you’ll suffer, either.” Dana managed a weak smile. “Change is good. Remember that. You’ve got your own room, and we have a house instead of an efficiency apartment at the back side of the stables.”

“But Mama, I’ve never gone to public school. I bet they don’t even have uniforms,” Brook groaned.

“And you’ve made friends wherever we lived,” Dana countered. “Maybe if things work out, you’ll get to spend all of your high school years here.”

“I hope not!” Brook exclaimed. “This is right on the edge of nowhere. Granny don’t even have Wi-Fi, Mama.”

“Get used to it, kiddo. We could be here for a long time,” Dana said. “Go unpack all your things and settle in. We’re supposed to be at the café at noon. If we are lucky, we’ll get to start running this business tomorrow. And be glad you get to go to school, because you could be cleaning cabins all day.”

“No!” Brook’s hands went to her cheeks. “You’re kiddin’, right?”

“If you want a little paycheck like you got on the horse ranches, you’ll work at whatever needs done around here weekends and in the summer. It’ll probably be either cleaning rooms or else helping in the café, but it’ll be work.”

“But I hate housework,” Brook groaned.

“Think of it as a paycheck.”

Another groan escaped her daughter as she left the bedroom and headed across the hallway to her own new room.

“I hate dishes worse than any other housework,” she called out.

BLP REVIEW ~ TRACY

Not for the first time in recent weeks I picked up a book not fully realising that it was further into a series that I hadn’t looked at yet…. but, as usual, that didn’t affect my thought on the story.

Cupid’s Cowboy was a fairly quick read that I was really looking forward to from the blurb but I was kinda disappointed that it didn’t quite live up to what I was expecting….

Don’t get me wrong, in the main it was a decent read but I just didn’t fully feel the connection between Jase and Leigh apart from the initial spark that was obvious and then again the first time they actual came together (pun intended!!) although things did pick up in the latter part of the story.

They spent so much time apart, with no communication – Leigh dithering about what she should do career wise, whether she wanted a relationship with the sexy singing cowboy all while working on things for her new signing but not keeping in touch and Jase feeling sorry for himself, let down and about to give up on his long term dream – I wanted him to be stronger in his belief of himself!!
When they were back in contact suddenly it seemed like all was right with the world and their issues were forgotten but I really liked how things turned out for them and the epilogue was fun.

For me, this was a 3.9* but for longstanding readers of Becky McGraw I’m sure it will be a hit!

Excerpt:

They’d only walked a short distance when he decided it was silly to pretend like they weren’t both there.

“What do you do for a living, Ivy?”

He glanced at her over his shoulder, saw her reticence in responding.

“I’m just curious. I don’t have any plans to continue stalking you once this hike is over.”

She sighed. “I’m a vet. Work at the pet clinic in West Yellowstone.”

“Is that right? Take care of kittens and puppies?” He hadn’t meant that as an insult, but the way she crinkled her nose proved she’d taken it as such.

“I’m not saying that’s a bad thing at all,” he hastened to explain. James was a huge fan of both types of pets. Probably because they had a couple big dogs at the ranch and at least half a dozen barn cats at any given time.

Ivy shrugged. “I know. It’s just not where I plan to end up. This is a short-term gig. I specialized in school. My field of study was large-animal care.”

James stopped walking, and Ivy was almost next to him before she realized. She pulled up short. “You mean like horses and cattle?”

She nodded. “Yeah. I love horses.”

A big smile split his face. “So do I. My family owns a ranch in Compton Pass, Wyoming.”

Her face brightened. “I know where that is. Saw the exit for it after every holiday when I drove back to college.”

“Oh yeah. Must mean you went to Colorado State. We’re on the way.”

“Yeah. Always wanted to stop in Compton Pass. Seems like a really nice place.”

RELEASE BLITZ ~ Think Ice (Sleeper SEALs Book #7) by Maryann Jordan

Thin Ice

Sleeper SEALs Book 7

Maryann Jordan

Release Date Nov. 28, 2017

Blurb:

The Sleeper SEALs, are former U.S. Navy SEALs recruited by a new CIA counter-terror division to handle solo dark ops missions to combat terrorism on U.S. soil.

Logan (Preacher) Bishop, retired Navy SEAL, flew tourists on helicopter rides over the mountains of Montana and occasionally rescued skiers from snowy slopes. With the threat of terrorists developing means of biological warfare, he jumped at the chance to run a mission in Alaska, monitoring the activities of a newly established ISIS cell.

Vivian Sanders, a biologist with the Department of Homeland Security, was tasked with finding out what the terrorists were creating. Assigned to work with an agent on a cell in Alaska, she was stunned to find she was being paired with a security specialist and he knew nothing about their cover—living next door to the terrorists and pretending to be married.

Precise in his planning and executions of missions, the impulsive Viv drove Logan to distraction and of all his missions, he was certain this one would fail. Learning to work together, Logan and Viv discover opposites do attract. But the secret Logan carries—how he is to finish the mission—is one he is afraid she won’t be able to accept.

When the chemicals created by the terrorists next door threatened to be tested on a small town in Alaska, they fight to survive…both hoping their love survives the battle as well.

** Logan Bishop was first introduced in the Saints Protection & Investigation Series (Surviving Love). This book is in the “Sleeper SEAL” connected series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

Each book in this multi-author branded series is a standalone novel, and the series does not have to be read in order.

****Due to scenes of an explicit sexual nature and language that some consider crude, please be warned – for 18+ only! If you do not like alphas with heart who fall in love with strong female characters while dealing with real life issues…again be warned!!*****

Excerpt:

“Can you take us higher? I want to get a picture of the very top.”

“Oh, honey, no. I feel like puking as it is.”

Logan Bishop heard the request and subsequent whining clearly, even with his headphones covering his ears, but pretended not to. It was easier that way. He maneuvered his H10, light single-engine helicopter, along his regular tourist path, ignoring the special requests coming from the back. Sometimes he deviated…depending on the passengers and his mood. But today, the monotony of the tourist season was getting on his last nerve, and playing nice was not part of the service.

Circling around the mountains of the Glacier National Park in Montana once more, Logan appreciated the view of snow-capped mountains, thick with green forests. The predominately coniferous woodlands of pine, fir, and spruce gave the vista its continuous color, while the lower elevations were covered in cottonwoods and aspens, which lost their leaves with the changing seasons. The park, considered the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem, was originally inhabited by Native Americans and was home to hundreds of species of animals. With over a million acres, including two mountain ranges and over one hundred lakes, the tourists wanting to experience the park from above the ground kept him in business.

Making another pass before dipping near a crystal clear lake, he decided the couple in the back seats was more interested in the photographs than any history, so he continued to keep his mouth shut as they chattered amongst themselves.

As he began the flight back over the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, which the Blackfeet have inhabited for over ten thousand years, he heard an audible huff behind him.

“Look at all this good real estate going to waste here for a bunch of Indians.”

“Native Americans,” came the response from the woman. “That’s what you say now. It’s politically correct.”

The other passenger pinched his lips before snapping, “Well, excuse me, Dorothy, if I ain’t all PC and shit.”

With a quick glance behind him, Logan could see their interest had waned so he made a straight trip back to the landing pad outside Cut Bank, Montana, circling over the small town right on the edge of a steep bank leading down to a river. He had knocked off about fifteen minutes on their tour but figured it was due him for having to listen to their bickering.

As an Award Winning, Amazon International Bestselling and All-Star author, Kobo, and Barnes & Noble Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. In 2013 I started a blog to showcase wonderful writers. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma’s Home was created.

My first novel, Emma’s Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love’s Series. Soon, other spin-off series came along and 8 of my books have made Amazon top 100 Bestselling books.

Gabe, from the Alvarez Security Series won Silver Medal and 5 Star Review by the 2016 Reader’s Choice Awards.

Honor Love was an award winning novel from the 2016 Reader’s Choice Awards.

Serial Love was an award finalist novel from the 2016 Reader’s Choice Awards.

Coming Home was awarded the 5 Star Review by the 2017 Reader’s Choice Awards.

My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with.

I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I have just retired and look forward to more time with family and writing!

I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 36 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters.

When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!
