BLP REVIEW – Tracy
Whatās not to love? A Grumpy Scottish bloke who wears a kilt , works hard, likes whisky and could talk the knicks off a gal!! šš
Malcolm was a character. With a tragic past he was a loner and throughout the story we find out the reasons for this. I loved him tbh. I know some guys like him (not with the history Mal has) but with the brusqueness and āleave me beā air. There was a bit to unpack with Malcolm and he had so many contradictory layers that were interesting to peel back.
Charlotte is like Malcolm in some ways. Sheās given up a life for Raleigh and now that heās settled she must be feeling lovely. Sheās the opposite of Malcom in that she likes to talk and is social where he is reserved and quiet.
Sheās quite the wee forceā¦. Smart, quick witted, determined and loving. She wonāt let anyone away with any nonsense and pulls no punches when it comes to saying what needs to be said and telling Malcom what changes she wants to make around the estate.
I enjoyed their story line, their interactions and Charlottes reaction to Malcolmās truths. There was definitely an attraction between them and though their initial interactions were prickly they sorted themselves out and made for a great couple.
Definitely enjoying the series and trying to work out whoās gonna be falling for who next. From the teaser at the end of GiaK I cannot wait to read Connorās story in Playboy in a Kilt.

BLP REVIEW – Tracy
I went into Cowboy in a Kilt both looking forward to it and not being entirely sure ā¦.. Being a Scot, I find Iām often disappointed in books where the characters are Scottish and the writer obviously hasnāt done their homework fully and the language/dialect/words/location just donāt fit or are just plain wrong and that drives me crazy! While I know I will have to suspend some belief reading certain fiction, some things should be rightā¦ Sorry, kinda not sorryā¦
Kait delighted me as she has definitely paid attention to locations, words (and spelling) and while there are some of our colloquial phrases and words used she didnāt over use them when the characters were speaking.
I could picture settings, especially the drive from up north to Edinburghā¦ all of this, along with the story just made me love this book more! I also got the feeling that Ms Nolan might like this awesome (ok, Iām biased! šš“ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó “ó æ) wee country of ours!?!
Raleigh was a great guy. Hadnāt had the happiest life since his mum passed then was, IMHO, betrayed by his dadā¦
Meeting a stranger at a casino with a strange proposition was just another weird turn in his world.
I donāt know how I expected him to be when he got to the village but the gods, the guy threw himself into the whole experience.
Kyla, poor Kyla. He she is thinking her brother is gonna bear the weight of the centuries old pact around their family property and that of the Lennox family, when all of a sudden things change and sheās suddenly in the spotlight.
I liked Raleigh and Kyla together. They formed a friendships that was developing into more – but there was the complication of Kyla already having a boyfriend who lived in the city. I didnāt entirely like the premise of how things would go, especially when it was obvious that feelings were more than were being admittedā¦
I liked the supporting cast of characters, one or two in particular and you could definitely see some future couples within the friend/family group!
An excellent first book in the Kilted Hearts series and I canāt wait for more!!!!
** Read the novella Jilting the Kilt to meet the main characters that are gonna be in the series and for a glimpse at a happy couple from one of Kaitās other series!!!
