Posted by Book Loving Pixies

The Matchmaker and the Cowboy, an all-new heartfelt and moving small-town standalone romance set in the Windsong Series from USA Today bestselling author Robin Bielman is available now!

Callie Carmichael has a gift for making bridesmaid dresses—some even call them magical. Somehow, every person who’s worn one of her dresses has found love. Real love. And as long as that happily-ever-after is for someone else, Callie is happy. Because she’s fully over getting her heart broken…which is why her new roommate is definitely going to be a problem.
After being overseas for six months, Callie’s only choice is to stay with her best friend’s ridiculously hot brother, Hunter Owens. Cowboy, troublemaker, and right now, the town’s most coveted bachelor. Only, Hunter isn’t quite the player she thought. And if it weren’t for her whole “no more love” thing, their setup could get confusing really fast.
Now, Hunter wants Callie to make him a best man suit—a “lucky for love” kind of suit. But what happens if she makes the suit and he finds true love…and it isn’t her?

Excerpt
Hunter woke with a start. He hated the recurring dream where he was falling off the roof of the barn, only this time he was falling into the wide mouth of a giant spider with a Gene Simmons KISS tongue.
He was pretty sure spiders didn’t have tongues, but his head hurt too much to dwell on it.
Swallowing thickly, his eyes landed on someone sitting in the corner chair. He wasn’t too surprised to have company; his family worried about him. However, there was nothing familial about the beautiful redhead watching him. He’d dreamed about her last night, or rather pictured her here with him when he’d gotten up to use the bathroom.
Obviously, his mind was still playing tricks on him, a damn shame considering the best cure he could think of was Callie Carmichael in his bunkhouse.
“Are you okay?” Dream Callie asked. She had a soft voice that soothed all his aching muscles. “You squealed in your sleep.”
Definitely still dreaming, since he’d never squealed in his life. “I’d be better if you climbed in here with me,” he drawled lazily. He’d kicked off his pajama bottoms during the night so had nothing on underneath the sheets, and a certain part of him loved the idea of her joining him. She, on the other hand, wore long-sleeved navy pajamas with white polka dots on them. Not what he would’ve picked, but he couldn’t control every dream.
“I’m going to pretend you didn’t say that and assume your fever is making you delirious.”
He put his palm on his forehead. Yep, a definite heatwave was happening.
Wait. He didn’t normally feel himself while dreaming. Was Callie actually sitting in his bedroom? Or had he died and gone to heaven?
“You’re not a figment of my imagination?”
Rather than answer him, she got to her feet, came closer, and put out her hand.
For him to touch.
Hot damn. He still wasn’t clear on why she was here, but he didn’t care. She’d never offered any part of herself to him before, so he’d take it. Her light green eyes were softer than he’d ever seen them and her curly hair wild, like she’d been here all night, sleeping on his couch.
As far as gifts went, this took the top spot. He could tell himself all day he’d moved on from his crush, but this close to her, he forgot about the promise he’d made to himself.
The bed covers slipped slightly as he lifted an arm free to touch the top of her delicate hand. Soft, warm skin met his, just like he’d imagined.
She pulled her arm back and returned to the chair, too far away for his liking. “Now that we’ve got that settled, how are you feeling this morning?”
He pushed himself all the way up to a sitting position, exposing his bare chest as the sheet slid to his waist. She maintained perfect eye contact like she couldn’t care less about checking him out. Holy cow, she was here. He knew this because she never gave him the once-over. Never paid him much attention beyond politeness.
Which meant…
Last night when he’d gotten up to relieve himself buck naked, she had been standing a mere five feet away. And a minute ago he’d asked her to join him in bed…

Robin Bielman is the USA Today bestselling author of over twenty novels. When not attached to her laptop, she loves to read, go to the beach, frequent coffee shops (and by frequent she means daily but she’s trying to break the habit), and spend time with her family.
Her fondness for swoon-worthy heroes who flirt and stumble upon the girl they can’t live without jumpstarts most of her story ideas. Synopsis:
Olivia Lincoln has a plan guaranteed to get her life back on track. A plan that involves her best friend, Danny. And he’s on board, too…until she blurts out that they’re engaged and expecting a baby, and the news spreads like wildfire.
The problem? Danny doesn’t do marriage. Or family. And everyone knows it, including Olivia.
As irritated as he might be, protecting Olivia is what Danny does. But put best friends under one roof, add house rules begging to be broken, accidental nakedness, and pancakes in bed, and what started as a marriage between friends threatens to turn into the real deal…which would ruin everything.
Excerpt:
She pressed her lips together and tried really hard not to laugh, but it didn’t work and she burst into a fit of uncontrollable giggles. Not entirely because he was funny, but because his teasing question heightened her awareness of him. Made her nervous.
And horny. So, so horny.
“God, I love your laugh,” he said quietly, his gaze drifting over her chin, her lips, her cheeks, her eyes.
Liv stopped. Giggling. Moving. Breathing. And thinking that they could go back to the way things were before they’d kissed on the beach and her world had turned on its axis.
She loved laughing with Danny. He’d always had a direct link to her funny bone. Her mind searched for the times Will had made her laugh. Once, maybe twice? In six months. How had she not realized that until now?
“Danny,” she said, whisper soft.
“I’m not telling you anything I haven’t told you before.”
True. He didn’t keep his compliments to himself, especially when her loud, high-pitched guffaw swayed others to laugh along with her. But the gleam in his eyes said he wanted to back up his statement with another kiss, and that had never happened before.
Time to stop looking at those twin pools of honey and reading things she wasn’t quite ready to tackle.
“Don’t read anything into it,” he added, like he had secret passage inside her head. “I’m just a guy telling his best friend she’s fun to be around.”
Seriously? He had to throw out movie star lines like that? Could he say the wrong thing just once so he pissed her off? Whenever he talked she forgot about keeping him in the friend zone. The only zone she wanted him in was the touchdown one. Doing a dirty dance with their hot, sweaty naked bodies entwined.
She leaned closer to him. “Then stop looking at me like that.”
The Best Friend Bargain Playlist:
Hey everyone! Happy summer!
I don’t listen to music while I’m writing. I’m one of those writers that like to have it quiet when I sit at my laptop to work. But music is a big part of my pre-writing ritual. I’ll listen to music to help get my head in my story (very often while I’m also running on the treadmill) and then I’ll sit down and hopefully the words flow. So, here’s the playlist for the songs I listened to over and over again while I was writing Danny and Olivia’s story, The Best Friend Bargain.
“Hold Me Up” by Conrad Sewell
“Levels” by Nick Jonas
“Sleeping With A Friend” by Neon Trees
“The Other Side” by Jason Derulo
“Ready For Your Love” by Gorgon City
“Take Me” by Rufus
“Simply Being Loved” by BT
“To The Skies” by Kaskade
Happy reading and music listening!

BLP REVIEW ~ Tracy
The Best Friend Bargain was a good read. The third book in the Kisses in the Sand series – a series I hadn’t read anything else of – but one that I’m gonna go check out soon. I didn’t feel not having read the other books took anything away from my understanding of the story or the relationships between the characters.
Liv and Danny were good together. Best friends for over 15 years, they’d been there for all the ups and downs and would do anything for each other…. This is where one of my ‘hmmms’ came in. IF they were such good friends, why did Olivia need to run away to the UK and not contact him for most of the time she was gone; to then turn up our of the blue and expect him to happily follow her request to be her fiancé and the baby daddy? Yep, I get he’d do just about anything for her and I think that’s what friendship is about, but hell, to not speak up and voice his concerns and just go along with things, that didn’t feel completely right – especially given that Liv has always known that his health issues had already stopped him from committing to anyone relationship wise.
The main characters were likeable – though I could have smacked Liv once or twice for her actions – they had great banter, did have a connection (one that certain grew as the book went on) and they could read each other really well. The ‘friends to lovers’ trope is usually a firm favourite of mine and while The Best Friend Bargain was a good read, it didn’t knock my socks off. For me, the time lapses in the story were a bit odd, I felt a few things were skipped or skimmed over just a little too quickly, and although sweet at the end, it did feel a little too predictable a points.
As I said at the start, this was overall a good read and I will go back and read the rest of the series from Robin Bielman. My rating for TBFB is 3.75*
