– Mira Lyn Kelly, USA Today bestselling author

Hooked on Her, an all-new steamy and swoon-worthy forbidden sports romance from Stacey Lynn, is available now!

HookedOnHer-IceKings-ebook

Tessa Chauncy is the best kind of trouble. Beautiful, sweet and completely off limits. I’ve sat by and watched other men drool after her and forced myself to stay in check. Hey, I’m in the NHL… I have self-control in spades.

Except when it comes to her.

With the bat of her lashes and quick whip of that sharply pointed tongue Tessa can knock grown men to their knees. I’ve seen them wither and crumble under her confident stare— something I’m pretty sure she learned from sparring with me, thankyouverymuch.

But I’m not just falling for her. I’m down for the count.

She’s the girl I wanted, when wanting her was wrong.
She’s also my new roommate–
And oh yeah, my best friend’s little sister.

Heaven help me, I’m probably going to get his fist to my face or his hockey stick shoved in very dangerous places for what I’m about to do, but I don’t think I care anymore.

I’m in love with my best friend’s little sister….and I’m done waiting.

Excerpt

Footsteps sounded behind me, the tread of a single pair of boots approaching from the shore.

Beads of sweat trickled between my breasts and gathered beneath the stays. I knew that lazy, arrogant gait. I feared it.

Pushing back my shoulders, I girded my spine and turned to face my biggest mistake.

A few paces away, the pirate leaned against a wooden post. His thumb hooked casually in the straps of leather that wound around his trim hips. His other hand hung at his side, dangling my lost compass by the chain.

Rancor battled longing. Scorn collided with sadness, and my outrage bowed beneath the helpless, banal attraction I’d always felt for him.

His brown breeches fit him like a glove, the threads molding around powerful thighs and the sizable bulge of his groin. His loose shirt tucked into multiple belts at his waist and laced up his chest to open at the neck. A strong neck, covered in scruff and sinew.

I swallowed thickly, my entire body pulsing with an unwanted ache as my gaze rose to his.

Eyes glinting like polished steel glared down at me. Moonlight cast his prominent features in stark relief—stern forehead, defined cheekbones, perfect nose, full lips—leaving the rest of his face in shadow. The severe straight line of his mouth amplified the intensity in his expression.

He was furious. Seething with two years’ worth of blistering, unresolved ire.

My heart died a thousand deaths before I found my voice. “Priest.”

“Bennett, my love.” He spilled the endearment into the air, each syllable a vicious growl of torment. “How I’ve missed you.”

The short story, KING OF LIBERTINES, can be read before or after SEA OF RUIN.

It’s only available in the AUSTRALIA anthology:

BLP REVIEW – Tracy

THIS BOOK…… this is definitely my favourite of the books in this series that I’ve read so far… Tess Thompson really knows how to write emotions.

Manoman, I LOVED Trey & Autumn. In previous books you could see the connection and friendship this couple had but there was always the possibility that that’s all they’d be… until Trey decided he had to do something about how he actually felt about his best girl-friend when she set her mind to online dating and finding someone who would be able to look past her scars.

Trey has always seen Autumn as more than her past, her accident and the damage that did to her, both physically and mentally. After a hellish marriage and divorce he was always very vocal about never getting married again and he was set on that until he got to know his girl, that was the game changer for him.

Autumn took what Trey said to heart and never considered they would be more than they were, regardless of how she felt about him. Due to her injuries and how she viewed herself because of them, along with some bad reactions from the few men she had been involved with, Autumn was very hesitant about starting relationships and that’s what lead her to trying online dating..

Now, I have to say, I’m kinda split in my feeling about what Trey and the Wolves came up with and put into play – you’ll understand when you read the book.

I loved that we had the Wolves, Dogs and Wags involved as always and the storyline that started earlier in the series with Autumns mom continued in Scarred.

This was another great trip to Cliffside Bay and I can’t wait to go back to see who’s gonna fall next. This is a definite 5* read.

EXCERPT:

His gaze narrowed, lines furrowing his brow. Why dont you let the police deal with that in the future, Miss Cooper? You dont need that sort of shit getting into your head. Excuse my language.

I attempted a smile. Its fine. Swear all you like. This situation makes me want to swear too.

Theres a lot of sick and cruel people out there. It doesnt mean you need to give them a moment of your time.

True, I said. I guess youve seen a lot of this sort of stuff before.

Enough to know youre better off staying away from it and leaving the detective work to the professionals.

I know, I know. My shoulders slumped, my back bowed. My bones felt hollow and weak. Tonight Id take some Melatonin and try to knock myself out. Actually get some decent sleep. I just hate being so out of control. Having to put my life on pause because of this asshole.

Understandable.

Around me were towers of books waiting to be shelved. Romance mostly. Since I had the time, I might as well place them in alphabetical order. His gaze wandered over them with something close to interest. Made me curious about his hobbies. Apart from being a fulltime card-carrying member of the badass club, of course. He probably kick boxed and scaled tall buildings and saved kittens from burning trees. I really shouldnt have sat down. From this height, he seemed even more imposing. Like a mountain towering over me, taking up all of the view. Id been around plenty of big shot actors, sports stars, and business tycoons over the years, courtesy of various events and V.I.P. lounges. Ziggy Thayer had more presence than all of them put together. Its like he sucked the air out of a room just by generally being cool and existing.

Or maybe he only had that effect on me. If so, I could seriously do without the complication. Dammit.

Miss?

And Id been staring at the man again. Im sorry, Ziggy. I kind of zoned out there for a minute. Were you saying something?

Megan Matthews – Room 29

I enjoyed Room 419; A Gift from Drunk Me – I haven’t read any of the other Last Resort Motel books but I’ll definitely be looking into them.

Ann Mayburn gave us a great wee read about Ivy and Deacon, I was surprised that the gap was only about seven years while I expected him to be a little older still (which would not have been an issue in the slightest) .
I liked both Deacon and Ivy – I especially liked ‘drunk’ Ivy and her crazy messages! 🙂
Deacon was a good guy, who bided his time and fought for his girl.

One of my bug bears in stories is miscommunication but in Room 419 I think it was used well as a plot device and I liked that things were wrapped up quickly, with no confusion and no major drama.

A quick 3.75* read that I’d more than happily recommend.

~ Tracy

With over fifty published books, Ann is Queen of the Castle to her wonderful husband and three sons in the mountains of West Virginia. In her past lives she’s been an Import Broker, a Communications Specialist, a US Navy Civilian Contractor, a Bartender/Waitress, and an actor at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. She also spent a summer touring with the Grateful Dead-though she will deny to her children that it ever happened.

From a young age Ann has been fascinated by myths and fairytales, and the romance that was often the center of the story. As Ann grew older and her hormones kicked in, she discovered trashy romance novels. Great at first, but she soon grew tired of the endless stories with a big wonderful emotional buildup to really short and crappy sex. Never a big fan of purple prose, throbbing spears of fleshy pleasure and wet honey pots make her giggle, she sought out books that gave the sex scenes in the story just as much detail and plot as everything else-without using cringe worthy euphemisms. This led her to the wonderful world of Erotic Romance, and she’s never looked back.

Now Ann spends her days trying to tune out cartoons playing in the background to get into her ‘sexy space’ and has accepted that her Muse has a severe case of ADD.
Ann loves to talk with her fans, as long as they realize she’s weird and that sarcasm doesn’t translate well via text.

One More Moment ~ Samantha Chase

In front of her, the guy reached into his back pocket and cursed.

Loudly.

“Um…cancel my order,” he told the cashier, his voice so low and deep it was almost a growl. “I forgot my wallet.”

Without hesitation, Charlotte stepped forward and smiled at the young cashier. “Hi, Carly,” she began, reading the girl’s nametag, “if it’s okay, you can add his order to mine.” She was feeling pretty good about herself and her gesture, but when she turned and looked up at the man she was helping, she couldn’t help but gasp.

Jet-black hair and silver eyes—which were currently glaring at her. There wasn’t even a hint of a smile and if anything, he was borderline snarling.

“What do you think you’re doing?” he asked.

Charlotte had met enough people who were down on their luck to know that sometimes pride was a huge deterrent to them accepting help in any form. “I heard you say you had forgotten your wallet and just figured I’d help.”

“Why?”

Her shoulders relaxed even as her smile grew and she laughed softly. “What do you mean, ‘why’?”

“Ma’am?” the cashier asked. “What can I get you? The line’s getting backed up.”

“Oh, right. Sorry.” Although she was a little miffed at being called “ma’am.” At twenty-seven, she didn’t consider herself old enough for that title, but she’d deal with that later. “I’ll have a tall mocha Frappuccino and a blueberry muffin, please.” Then she handed her credit card over before looking back at the angry man.

“I don’t need anyone to buy me coffee,” he growled.

Undeterred, she smiled and accepted her card back from the cashier. “Oh, please. I know I get cranky when I can’t have my coffee, and you look like you could use it. It’s not a big deal. Really.” She stepped around him to go wait at the other end of the counter for their order. For a minute, she didn’t think he would follow, and she had to hide her smile when he finally did.

“I could have just gone and grabbed my wallet and come back,” he argued. His voice was low, but there was still heat in it.

She shrugged and offered him a smile. “Now you don’t have to.”

They stood in silence until their order was placed on the counter, and Charlotte thanked the barista and then smiled at the man. He still hadn’t picked up his coffee or muffins, and she wondered just how stubborn he was going to be.

“Look, if it bothers you that much, just…pay it forward,” she said.

“Pay it what?”

“Forward. You know, next time you’re in line and notice someone in need of a hand, help them out.” Her smile broadened even as he looked at her as if she were crazy. “Anyway, enjoy and have a great day!”

Without waiting for an answer, she walked out of the coffee shop and across the street toward the park benches where she could sit and see the beach and enjoy the fresh air. It really was a beautiful day out and there was no way she wanted to waste it sitting inside.

Sitting down, she pulled the muffin out of the bag and was about to break off a piece when someone sat down beside her.

Her unkempt man.

With her sunglasses on, she was certain he couldn’t read her surprise, and she did her best to sound casual as she asked, “Would you like to join me?” For the life of her, she had no idea why she would even suggest such a thing. It was obvious he was annoyed with her and really, just because she tended to be trusting didn’t mean it was always the right thing to do. For all of her speculation, she had no idea who this man was.

“What is your deal?” he asked a little suspiciously, but not snarling or growling nearly as much as he had been inside the coffee shop.

“My deal?”

He nodded. “Why’d you buy my breakfast? What’s it to you if I didn’t have my wallet?”

For a moment Charlotte could only stare. Was this guy for real? Here she was doing a nice thing and he was giving her crap for it?

“It was just coffee and two muffins,” she reasoned pleasantly. “It wasn’t a big deal, and like I said, just pay it forward.”

That should have been the end of it, but considering he didn’t move or say anything, she figured it wasn’t.

Now she started to feel a little uneasy.

Looking around, she tried to see how many people were around. It was early and people were out walking on the sidewalk and down on the sand, so she relaxed. She could handle this.

“What is it you want from me?” he finally asked, his scowl back in place.

Charlotte turned to look back up at him and frowned herself. “Excuse me?”

He sighed in agitation. “You heard me. What is it you want? You want me to sign something?”

Sign something? What the…?

“Look, Mr.…?” She paused and waited for him to fill in the blank, but when he didn’t, she was the one to sigh. “I’m Charlotte, by the way. Charlotte Clark. I’d prefer not to keep calling you ‘angry guy’ in my head.” And when he still didn’t answer, she stuffed her muffin back in the bag, grabbed her coffee, and stood. “I honestly didn’t mean to offend you, okay? I just thought it would be a nice thing to do and then we’d both be on our way—me feeling good and you feeling thankful. Obviously, I was wrong. So… I’m sorry if I was mistaken and if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go and enjoy my breakfast elsewhere.”

Her heart was hammering in her chest as she moved around him and walked back along the sidewalk to the crosswalk in hopes of finding someplace else to sit and eat. The whole time she complained in her head, because she seriously enjoyed sitting and watching the waves crash and all the sights and smells of the beach.

Stupid angry guy messing with my good morning.

Blurb:

High school freshman, Danny Burns, loves life, art, and boys. From the outside, he looks like a happy-go-lucky guy with no concerns. He blows off the bullies and he’s an amazing friend. What people don’t know is that he’s had a boyfriend since the summer, and when Danny decides being a secret isn’t enough for him and tries to end it, it’s not as easy as he expects.

Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Shaw, formed a special club forty years ago. Each year, she handpicks twelve students to participate, but no one knows what they talk about, and former students never tell.

Danny and Noah are two of the chosen this year. When Mrs. Shaw partners them up, their lives begin to alter in ways that they couldn’t have imagined. While Danny is confronted with a stalking ex, Noah begins to question his values. As their friendship grows within the nurturing circle of Club Shaw, will that foundation be enough to get them through the troubles ahead? Will Danny trust in Noah’s friendship and strength to help him move on from his ex to give the new guy Noah introduces him to a chance?

This is book two in the Mrs. Shaw’s Club series. We’ll continue to get glimpses into the lives of the students, and with each book, we’ll see a romance bloom. This is a standalone, but more fun if you watch them all grow together through the year.

Excerpt:

Noah looks back and forth between the two of us, his face more agitated than ever, before sighing and shaking his head. He looks up and smiles fondly at Josh, an expression that seems to be reserved exclusively for him, but then he turns it on me. On me! O.M.G. He’s smiling at me fondly. His next words almost make me pass out. “Who knew it was gonna be such a pain in the ass to have two best friends? Geesh.”

Pushing past me gently, he grabs the cart himself and says, “Well, come on,” over his shoulder as he walks down the aisle deeper into the store.

“Um, did he seriously call me one of his best friends? Like, did I really hear that? Do you think he was serious? Tell me the truth, Josh, did that just happen?”

Laughing at me—no I don’t think he’s laughing at me exactly, but more like happily with me—he wraps his arm around my neck, pulls me closer to him, and tugs me along next to him to follow Noah down the aisle. He whispers into my ear, “He’s the best friend a guy can have, Danny. If he’s saying it, he means it. And he’s as loyal as they come, which means you now have a friend for life, and there’s nothing he won’t do for you.”

He squeezes his arm a little harder around me for a second before letting me go and winking at me, again. Again. O.M.G. Noah’s calling me his best friend, Josh is winking at me ~ Sighand the angels sing ~ and touching me. What next?

BLP Review

Being a ‘fortysomething’ I love a good story featuring older lead characters and L.B. Dunbar has given us a great read in Restored Dreams.

This is the third story in the #sexysilverfoxes standalones but the first book I’ve read – that will be remedied soon!

Brut and Lily were fabulous together, whether they were trying to deny they still had feelings for each other after more than two decades apart or when they were exploring the week they had together or looking for something more.

Brut Paige is very focused on those who need him and does very little for himself – it’s literally all work and no play, he long ago lost the ability to have fun – but, thanks to a little interfering from well meaning family, he has an unexpected reunion with the girl who held his heart before he destroyed hers. I was really pissed at him when his monumental fuck-up was revealed and it did take me a little bit to let go of that feeling but he most certainly redeemed himself as they story continued.

Lily Warren is a really good person with a truly big heart. She followed her dream of owning her own bakery, at the expense of her social life and relationships. She is another one who doesn’t have a lot of fun in her life so when she’s ‘encouraged’ by her friend to take a holiday and relax, the last thing she is expecting is to be staying in the same house as the one man she’s never been able to forget.

I loved how they spent the week having fun and getting to know each other all over again.
The addition of Brut’s son, likable supporting characters and some heartbreaking issues thrown into the mix made this a really enjoyable. interesting and steamy read.

Bucket lists, scrabble tiles and learning to surf have never seemed so fun!!!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Author Bio

L.B. Dunbar loves the sweeter things in life: cookies, Coca-Cola, and romance. Her reading journey began with a deep love of fairy tales, medieval knights, Regency debauchery, and alpha males. She loves a deep belly laugh and a strong hug.
Occasionally, she has the energy of a Jack
Russell terrier. Accused—yes, that’s the correct word—of having an overactive imagination, to her benefit, such an imagination works well. Author of over two dozen novels, she’s created sweet, small town worlds; rock star mayhem; MMA chaos; sexy rom-coms for the over 40; and intrigue on an island of redemption.
In addition, she is earning a title as the “myth and legend lady” for her modernizations of mythology as elda lore. Her other duties in life include mother to four children and wife to the one and only.

The birds and night animals were active all around them. Though her hearing wasn’t as sensitive as when she moved as a shifter, she still heard them. Scampers and calls to evening plans—all clear to her lioness, who paced inside, longing to get out and run. Lara shushed her, placating her with a promised run later. With summer starting, there’d be plenty of late night runs in the moonlight to the cadence of all the insects and heartbeats in the forest.

A nice fat rabbit sounded perfect for dinner.

Mason motioned her to crouch and she did, crawling up close to him in the brush. She could smell him. Warm, with a streak of fierceness, like a juicy steak with a hint of tangy sauce. A spice she couldn’t name and a scent so intoxicating, she had to move back a bit. She’d been near him too much today. She sniffed again, and he turned and shot her a smile.

She looked away.

What the hell was wrong with her? She wasn’t one to go around sniffing men. She shook her head. I’m just hungry, that’s all.

Mason grabbed her arm. She looked where he was pointing and inhaled sharply. Through the bushes, a short distance away, a smattering of tiny campfires blazed. And tents cast hulking shadows across the lakeshore.

Where were the humans?

The low sound of muffled voices grew louder and Lara strained to hear what was going on. A group of humans—male and at least one female—made their way to the edge of one fire, their faces alight with the bright glow.

They looked happy. None appeared to be armed but why were there so many of them? The lake was remote—how could they have gotten all the equipment so deep into the woods—unless they’d had pack mules.

And why were they at the lake?

Mason’s face mirrored her concerns, his brows slanted and his skin drawn tight. His mouth a firm line. Lara watched him a minute, noting his slightly curved nose—the bump was the only way she could easily tell Marco and Mason apart unless they were talking. Somehow, the imperfection made him even more handsome than his brother.

She looked back at the humans standing around the fire like an army at ease, but aware battle was coming. Most looked out of place—not like seasoned hikers or hunters. More like businessmen without their suits, forced into jeans and T-shirts and shoes they only wore once or twice a year or maybe bought for the outing.

Stranger and stranger.

A large man glanced their way, spotted then, then rushed toward where they crouched. Bile filled Lara’s mouth and her lioness screamed run, but she froze in place. Several other men followed the leader, and within seconds, she and Mason were surrounded by humans.
