Turns out, for Baylor Hail, maybe it is.

I think that What The Hail is my favourite book of the Hail Raisers series so far!

Baylor… I loved Baylor. He’s kinda antisocial, quiet, doesn’t like to be touched but gods, he’s a really good guy. Broken, but not irreversibly! I wish he’d have been more obvious in his attraction to Lark sooner, but he got there eventually.
Lark, she was a lovely character. She’s been through so much but there was still a spark about her, she wanted her life to be more than just the existence it was (and she totally deserved it) and even though she kept pretty much to herself and didn’t raise her head above the parapet for the most part, there was still a bit of a rebel in her!!
This pair have so much about them that is similar and they each calm the other, like coming home, that you could do nothing but root for them to get their HEA together.

There was suspense, action, breath-stopping moments, humour, attraction, passion, heat and a whole lot of emotion all wrapped up in this story.

As ever the rest of the Hail boys made an appearance, and there-in lay a surprise. One of the things that I love about Lani’s books are that they really are a family affair! We met a new character that I think might feature later in the series but we didn’t get her name!

I’m really looking forward to Reed’s book but cannot wait for Dante’s story!

“Finally,” I sighed when it hit the top of the hour. I clocked out and said my goodbyes as I raced towards the door. I had time to spare until I had to pick Tyler up from school, but I was hoping that I might bump into David while I was waiting.

With that goal in mind, I pulled into the parking lot and snagged a spot up front. Since there were only a few other cars there, I took the extra time that I had to flip down my visor and apply an extra swipe of mascara and lip gloss. I wasn’t one for a lot of makeup, but I wanted to look my best—and a little older than usual so David didn’t think of me as just Tyler’s big sister.

“Too bad this is about as good as it’s going to get,” I muttered to myself as I climbed out of my car and spotted David standing on the sidewalk near the front doors. I felt butterflies in my stomach just looking at him. At six foot two, with a lean, muscular frame and dark, wavy hair paired with piercing brown eyes; he put tall, dark, and handsome to shame. Dressed in a gray suit and a black wool overcoat that fit him perfectly, he was so out of my league. But it didn’t seem like he agreed, not with the way his eyes lit up when they zeroed in on me and swept down my body. Those butterflies swarmed so much that I felt like I might puke.

“Keep it together, girl,” I mumbled to myself as I stepped over the curb and walked over to him.

“Harley.” His raspy greeting sent goosebumps down my spine, and they only multiplied when he slid his palm from my elbow to my wrist and tugged me close enough to press his lips against my cheek.

“Hey,” I breathed. I couldn’t get any other words out since I was trying hard not to squeal like a little girl. Then I caught the glare one of the perfectly put together moms was sending my way, and I frowned up at David. “I think someone’s trying to get your attention. Either that or she thinks she’s the female version of Cyclops and she’s going to kill me with her laser beam eyes for standing too close to you.”

“An X-Men reference?” I nodded and shrugged with a grin. “Could you be any more fucking perfect?”

I love a holiday read and was looking forward to this one after reading the blurb…. unfortunately, while it was well written enough, it just didn’t grab me like I’d hoped.

The story was just too sweet, Holly was just too klutzy, at first I didn’t really like Michael – yeah, things had gone way wrong in his relationship with his ex but gods, he bugged me with his negativity!
When our couple finally got down to doing the dirty the whole experience was just too wordy and descriptive for me…. I just wasn’t feeling the connection and desire I suppose.

I did like the ‘magical’ element to the read and can totally get on board with that!!

So, overall this book wasn’t for me but it doesn’t put me off giving another story by Fran & Greta (aka F.G. Adams) a go.

Do you drive twenty minutes to downtown, find a spot in the company parking garage?

However, I think our stories will differ significantly once you get to your office and I get to mine.

Sure, it’s possible you work in a high-rise office building in the heart of downtown. It could be any downtown office in any big city, in fact. New York, Chicago, Dallas. The location doesn’t matter. It’s even feasible to think that you’re a secretary for a multi-billion-dollar PR firm. You could even have four bosses like I do. Four mouth-watering, malebosses, even.

But, like I said, at that point, our stories will likely be drastically different.

In order for you to understand why, I’ll have to start at the beginning…

Book 2

Having spent the last two and a half months with my bosses, the thought of spending the holidays alone isn’t ideal. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what I feared I would be doing.

Or so I thought.

I probably should’ve learned long ago not to underestimate the men I work for.
They do have a way of surprising me when I least expect it.

While I find myself immersed in a lifestyle I am still getting familiar with, spending time with my bosses is proving to be more than I’d originally anticipated. Not only am I experiencing what it means to offer my submission freely, I’m also experiencing something else.

Something that feels a lot like love.

Until they switch things up and make me choose between them. That’s not something I’m capable of doing. After all, not only am I falling in love with one of my bosses, it appears my heart already belongs to two. Except one of those two seems to be rejecting me and I’m at a loss. If only I could let things go back to the way they were in the beginning, return to our original arrangement. If I could do that, it might work out.

Too bad my heart doesn’t seem to be listening to reason.
