Winnie thinks she has the perfect life.

Two beautiful, healthy children. A police officer husband. A job that she loves.
Oh, and let’s not forget that she’s a nationally ranked marathon runner.

Fast forward six months, and her perfect life has imploded.

Winnie finds herself in a completely new world, and this new world is a brutal bitch.

In this new life of hers, her husband is gone. He realizes, at the worst possible time, that he’s no longer in love with her.
He’s in love with her best friend. So he leaves, and doesn’t look back.

Her sixteen-year-old daughter is in trouble with the law, and she’s barely making ends meet thanks to losing the job that was keeping her and her tiny family afloat.

Then, the last thing that could make it all bearable, her running, is ripped out from under her, too. Thanks to a spinal stroke that leaves her unable to walk, let alone run, she’s having to relearn how to do the simplest of tasks—such as putting on her own pants.

She’s at the lowest of lows, and the last thing she wants is a sexy, bearded, motorcycle riding alpha to tell her how to live her life.

But Steel Cross never asks her what she wants.

***

The moment Steel Cross sees Winnie’s daughter steal some shoes for her younger brother, he knows he’s in trouble.

He’s a sucker for misunderstood teens. After all, he was once one himself.

He knows he can’t just walk away, and the moment he sees that troubled teen’s mother, he doesn’t just know it, he feels it.
Down to the very bottom of his soul.

With his share of hard knocks, he knows that he shouldn’t step in and make his move on a fellow police officer’s ex.
There’s a code, after all, yet he just can’t seem to help himself.

He’s done being the good guy. Sometimes he just wants to be bad.

And Winnie makes him realize that being bad is still kind of good. As long as you’re with the right person.

EXCERPT

“Finally,” I sighed when it hit the top of the hour. I clocked out and said my goodbyes as I raced towards the door. I had time to spare until I had to pick Tyler up from school, but I was hoping that I might bump into David while I was waiting.

With that goal in mind, I pulled into the parking lot and snagged a spot up front. Since there were only a few other cars there, I took the extra time that I had to flip down my visor and apply an extra swipe of mascara and lip gloss. I wasn’t one for a lot of makeup, but I wanted to look my best—and a little older than usual so David didn’t think of me as just Tyler’s big sister.

“Too bad this is about as good as it’s going to get,” I muttered to myself as I climbed out of my car and spotted David standing on the sidewalk near the front doors. I felt butterflies in my stomach just looking at him. At six foot two, with a lean, muscular frame and dark, wavy hair paired with piercing brown eyes; he put tall, dark, and handsome to shame. Dressed in a gray suit and a black wool overcoat that fit him perfectly, he was so out of my league. But it didn’t seem like he agreed, not with the way his eyes lit up when they zeroed in on me and swept down my body. Those butterflies swarmed so much that I felt like I might puke.

“Keep it together, girl,” I mumbled to myself as I stepped over the curb and walked over to him.

“Harley.” His raspy greeting sent goosebumps down my spine, and they only multiplied when he slid his palm from my elbow to my wrist and tugged me close enough to press his lips against my cheek.

“Hey,” I breathed. I couldn’t get any other words out since I was trying hard not to squeal like a little girl. Then I caught the glare one of the perfectly put together moms was sending my way, and I frowned up at David. “I think someone’s trying to get your attention. Either that or she thinks she’s the female version of Cyclops and she’s going to kill me with her laser beam eyes for standing too close to you.”

“An X-Men reference?” I nodded and shrugged with a grin. “Could you be any more fucking perfect?”

He thinks he’s too big for me. I like a challenge.

On my 25th birthday I received a letter. My mother had left me a piece of land in her will– the farm I grew up on as a child. Her last request was that I restore it… and how could I say no?

So I returned to my little town full of big memories. Nothing has changed here.

Except for Grant Werther.

When we were kids, I barely saw him. Now I can’t miss him. The guy is HUGE; all muscle and beard, like some hardened mountain man. He’s intimidating… and definitely sexy, in an alpha-male-cowboy kind of way.

Turns out his dad owns part of my farm and he’s got the papers to prove it. That means I can’t do anything without Grant’s approval. On top of that, this jerk says I’m too “city girl” to be here.

And the way he openly stares at my ass in my cut-off jeans makes it clear what he thinks I’d be good at.

He’s the biggest man I’ve ever seen and I admit, I’m curious what he’s hiding in his boxers.

I didn’t know he’d catch me peeking.

Now he won’t stop teasing me. He keeps saying I could never handle him, that he’d break me in two. I know I don’t have to prove him wrong…

But I want to.

This is a full length novel with a HEA and NO cheating!

Penny Wylder writes just that– wild romances. Happily Ever Afters are always better when they’re a little dirty, so if you’re looking for a page turner that will make you feel naughty in all the right places, jump right in and leave your panties at the door!

EXCERPT

I round the edge of the house and stop dead on the path, forgetting for a moment about my rage. Hell, even about the pebbles I’m standing on.

In front of me, shirtless and sheened in sweat, is the most perfectly sculpted man I have ever seen.

He could be made of bronze the way he’s posing now, weighing the axe over his shoulder as he eyes the stack of wood in front of him, balanced on the same tree stump where my Mama used to chop her own wood years ago. I can count every single muscle on his chest, from his pecs down his washboard abs to the perfect V that points like an arrow straight down, to a faint line of dark hair that I can’t help tracing to the fly of his jeans.

Damn jeans.

It takes every ounce of my self-control not to drool when he swings the axe all over again, distracting me with the surge and flow of his biceps, the way even his back ripples with strength. He’s got longer hair than I’m typically into, bound in a tight bun at the nape of his neck, dark and curly, to judge by the few flyaways that have escaped the hair tie.

I’m still gawking when he turns to look at me.

Holy shit. No way.

My jaw threatens to drop completely open because I realize—only when he looks straight at me head—I know this guy.

Grant Werther. The formerly scrawny kid who used to chase me around this lawn every summer while our parents talked shop. His dad owned a farm up the road, had the same business problems to deal with as Mom.

I have to say, he’s filled out nicely. His face, which used to be all thin angles, now features sharp cheekbones, a cut jaw and a fine nose. His eyes are dark too, piercing where they catch mine and lock, and his dark, full beard only accentuates his looks.

I swallow so hard I nearly gulp down my tongue in the process.

As for him, he shows no signs of recognizing me at all. Fine, if he wants to play at that game. “What are you doing here?” I manage to ask, finally recovering my wits.

“I could ask you the same thing.” He runs a hand over his hair, taming a few of those wisps, and narrows his eyes. “This is private property, Miss.”

EXCERPT

“Longest. Day. Ever,” I murmured as I searched for a vending machine on my way out the door. Gavin was only a few steps behind me and his responding chuckle caused me to flip him off over my shoulder.

“I warned you, new girl.” His tone was mocking. The crew hadn’t been quick to remember my name so half of them had referred to me as ‘new girl’ all day, saying it like they genuinely thought it was my name.

“Bite me, Hollywood.”

“No more Mister?”

I shook my head, making a beeline for the bank of vending machines by the elevators. “Nope. I’ve lost all respect for you today, so you’re just plain Hollywood now.”

“Your words have the power to wound, and you’ve cut me deep.” He was pouring on the sarcasm.

“Not my fault you flubbed your lines almost as much as me. So professional of you.”

I stopped at one of the machines and started plunking in quarters, not caring what it spat out as long as it was cold and loaded with caffeine.

Gavin moved to lean against the humming machine, tilting his body at an angle and smiling that damn radiant smile of his. “We all have off days; today was one of mine.”

I ignored him until half of my ice-cold beverage was consumed, then gave him my attention, squinting. “So, you’re trying to tell me it usually goes a lot smoother than that for you?”

“I rarely mess up. Sure, we all have those awkward moments where something in the script sounds dirtier than it’s meant to or a squeaky leather couch makes an unsavory noise and we all break character to laugh, but that’s about it.”

“Why today, then?” I felt my whole face flush as an idea hit me. “Oh shit, was I so bad it distracted you and made you mess up?” Dear Lord, kill me now.

“Of course not. You were great.” He stepped over and threw an arm around my shoulders, turning us toward the elevators. “I told you. It was just one of those days—no one’s fault but my own.”

He walked me to my car and held the door open as I folded myself into the seat with an exhausted groan.

“See you in the morning, Kaiti girl,” he said, mixing my actual name with part of my new nickname in a way that I really liked. Or maybe it was the way it sounded coming from him.

“Good night, Gavin. Thanks for making today as stress-free as possible. I don’t even want to think about how it would have gone without you looking out for me.”

“That’s what friends are for.” He closed the door with a soft click and turned to leave as I hurried to roll down the window.

“Hey, Hollywood?”

“Yeah?” He spun back to face me.

“Do friends also mess up their lines on purpose so their nervous, less-talented friend doesn’t feel like a dolt in front of everyone?”

He gave me a crooked smile. “Are you saying you messed up on purpose? For me?” He pointed to his chest. “Well, that was awfully sweet of you, Kaiti. Thanks for looking out.”

He walked away before I could respond.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Anna Paige
is the author of the Broken series; Broken Ground, Flawlessly Broken, and All the Broken Pieces, as well as Chasing Kade, the first installment in the Thrill of the Chase series and Off Script — a brand new standalone, due out in December 2017.

She lives in a rural town in North Carolina where the only activity is the rhythmic color change of the solitary stoplight and a very real threat of being carried away by mosquitoes. The only alternative to terminal boredom is writing, making life interesting if only on the page.

Anna is happily married, with one amazing son and a pair of hilarious pets. When she’s not writing, she’s trying to make a dent in her TBR pile. Given that she’s constantly adding new titles to the list, the chances of her ever finishing are slim.

And she’s completely fine with that.

NEW RELEASE PROMO ~ If You Were Mine by Jenika Snow

Daisy

I was just a servant to the royal family, a no one in the grand scheme of things. But my heart belonged to Prince Lennon, the somewhat “black sheep” of the family. I didn’t care what others said, or how his reputation for being less than caring about tradition followed him.
I saw the same emptiness in him as I had in myself. I wanted to ease him, let him know that we were meant to be together.
But I would never be seen as anything more than the help.
One day I’d have the nerve to admit how I felt, even if it blew up in my face.

Prince Lennon

She thought I didn’t notice her, that she was just a royal servant.
She was wrong.
I didn’t care if it was frowned upon, royalty mixing with a commoner. I didn’t care what the tabloids or my family might say. I wanted Daisy more than I’d ever wanted anything or anyone before.
Just being in her presence made the loneliness in me lessen, made me want more than the jewels and riches that surrounded me. Being with Daisy would complete me, and I’d have her.
I just needed to make her see we belonged together.

Warning: This was previously published in the Royally Mine anthology. If you want a short and sugary (but still oh-so-dirty) story, buckle up, because this one packs a punch. It hits you right where it counts (wink-wink) and doesn’t let up until you get to the Happily Ever After at the end.

Daisy

Prick.
Arrogant.
Asshole.
All of those things and more had been said about Lennon, Prince of Hemingway Court, and second in line for the throne. But I knew him, saw him daily… waited on him.
Behind those blue eyes was a man who was lonely, a man who was missing something in his life. I didn’t know what that was, but I wanted to help him, wanted to tell him he could talk to me.
I just wanted him.
I had a feeling he acted the way he did because he was pushing people away, because he was hurting inside and didn’t know how to deal with it.
I saw it happen with my father before he left us.
But I just was just the help, a servant to the Royal Family. I served him food, cleaned his room, and knew that nothing would ever come of being with him. I’d always wanted him, but I knew I could never have him.
It was my bittersweet reality.
A commoner could never catch the eye of a prince. I was content with that, or at least I pretended to be.
I grabbed the silver tray that held his breakfast and headed toward his room. I passed other servants, even the Duke and Duchess of Alansworth, who were here for a visit, and saw Princess Carolyn just barely slipping into her room for the “night.”
My heart thundered and my hands shook. I curled my fingers tighter, harder into the silver tray, willing myself to be calm. I needed to at least appear that way, even if I didn’t feel it on the inside.
But being in Prince Lennon’s presence always made me feel unsteady, always had my emotions rising to the top.
I stopped in front of his bedroom door, feeling like my heart was going to burst through my chest. You’d think after being a royal servant for so many years I would have been able to control myself. But the truth was I couldn’t, not when it concerned Prince Lennon.
I lifted my hand to give three sharp knocks before entering, but I stopped with my hand mid-air when I heard him shouting to someone on the other side of the door.
“I told you that’s not who I am. I don’t care what the tabloids say, and I don’t give a fuck what anybody thinks.”
I brought my knuckles down on the door, three sharp taps, before gripping the handle and pushing it open. I immediately saw Lennon sitting on the edge of his massive bed, hi cell phone on his lap, his hands tunneled into his short dark hair. His attention was on the ground, his jaw set tight.
I left the door open as I came in, not speaking to him because I knew my place.
I didn’t make eye contact either. “Good morning, Prince Lennon.” I set the tray down on the table off to the side, gave a slight bow, and turned to leave.
“Daisy?”
My entire body stilled, the blood rushing through my veins, pumping harder, faster. I turned around, keeping my hands behind my back, my posture stiff.
“Your highness?” My throat was dry, tight.
For long seconds he didn’t say anything, just stared at me, watching me with this stoic expression. It made my heart beat erratically. I wanted to go to him, just wanted to admit how I felt, how I had felt for so long.
Know your place.
“Thank you,” he said, his voice low, deep.
He kept staring at me, his blue eyes intent, knowing almost. I felt this chill race down my spine, and my entire body reacted just from that look.
“You’re welcome, Your Highness.” I forced myself to turn away, to leave the room, but I wanted to stay there. I wanted to have him keep looking at me, keep making me feel like I was special. My thinking was irrational, but it was unavoidable.
I’d felt this way for years, and even if I was only twenty-two years old and a servant, the only thing I wanted was Lennon.
But that was a fantasy, and I needed to realize that my reality was far less glamorous.

By: Kenya Wright

Publication Date: December 4, 2017
Genre: Romance

#heartbreakhoteltour

Yasmine’s world breaks apart, when she finds her fiancé in bed with another. Shattered, she flees LA and escapes to her second home—her sister’s Key West bed and breakfast. She bumps into her childhood friend Hawk, who went from the chubby boy-next-door to a certified millionaire hottie. Her instincts tell her to run. Even Hawk warns her.

All grown up, they’re now opposites—light and darkness, fire and ice, sunshine and cold shadows. She’s on a voyage to heal her heart with yoga and google spells, while Hawk battles his demons with art and meaningless sex. Years ago, he discovered that his wife was a murderer and his marriage a lie. For Hawk, there’s no hope for a normal life. His mind is too broken. His faith in humanity as dead as his ex-wife’s victims.

Heartbreak is like death. Both strip away the soul and leave the body as an empty shell.

But the universe has its surprises, and as breezy days go by, Hawk and Yasmine’s kinship in pain shifts from friendship to hungry lust. And although they battle against it, there’s an intense passion bridging between them that they can’t ignore.

Along a sparkling blue ocean and white sandy beaches, HEARTBREAK HOTEL unfolds into a steamy story about the beautiful ways love can repair the soul.

Kenya Wright wrote her first novel during her third year at UM Law school. She dropped out a month after the release and never looked back.

Words are power, and Kenya wants to be the greatest wizard that ever lived.

It’s an audacity to inspire and teach the healing of love through arousal.

It’s this crazy idea that love can not only help a reader escape, but the story can also teach the person

about being human, while making them laugh, cry, and hot for more sex.

EXCERPT:

Whistler

I would never forget the first fatality I had while on the job. It was staple gunned into my mind – plaguing me, haunting me. I watched as the life of a mother was snuffed out, feeling her last breath escape her lips in the freezing rain in the middle of the road.
Early evening, in terrible weather with black ice covering the asphalt, my partner and I got the call. I had been on the job for only a few months – needless to say I was not prepared for what we were about to encounter. I was a young buck, fearless, ready to be the big bad hero – swoop in and save the damsel in destress. What a fucking joke that idea was. Up until that point, the worst that I had dealt with was a drug bust gone wrong were a UC was shot in the shoulder by a kingpin. That was child’s play compared to what I was about to witness.
With lights flashing, my partner pushed the engine of our squad car to her limits – flying down the road to the intersection. It only took minutes and we were on the scene. Off in the distance, the whaling of horns and blaring of sirens signaled that the ambulance and firetruck were already in route to our aid. We were the first to arrive out of all responding units and I wished that that hadn’t been the case.
The scene was what you’d expect from a damn movie. An eighteen-wheeler was jackknifed, slid off onto the shoulder with a four door Sudan plastered to its grill like a damn bug stuck in the grate. The entire driver’s side of the car was smashed in, the horn was blaring, the windshield was blown out. The driver had been expelled from the car, the passenger’s head was a bloody mess on the side window. Neither were moving. The truck driver whaled in agony as he frantically tried to open the cab’s door.
“Sir! Try to remain calm!” My parented was a senior officer, he knew what he was doing. He sprang into action as I froze in my seat Get the woman!” Todd screamed at me as he flew out of the driver’s seat. “I’ll try to get the girl out of the car.”
I rushed to the lady that was sprawled out on the frozen pavement, her limbs thrown about as she lay on her back, gasping for air.
Looking down into her pleading eyes, I tried to figure out what to say. But, what do you say when you know that someone is fighting for their life? How the fuck are you supposed to comfort a stranger when they are dying right in front of you?
“Ma’am. Can you tell me your name?” I asked trying to assess her injuries.
“My daughter!” She cried, “Help Myla!”
“My partner is with her. He’s got her. What’s your name? Can you tell me your name?”
She started to gurgle as blood poured from her lips. Her skin drained of color. Her body shook. Her eyes got wide. I pulled her mangled, bloody body into my arms, rocking her while trying to comfort her last moments on this earth.
“You’re going to be all right. The paramedics are on their way. You’re going to be all right.” I repeated it over and over until the EMTs were rushing to my aid. They were too late. She had slipped between the cracks.
In pouring down, freezing rain, I felt her last breath leave her lungs. I watched as she blinked for the last time. I held her as she cried for us to save her daughter. In her last seconds, she was completely selfless. Her love for her daughter was at the forefront of her mind. That is true love. Right there, I learned what true love looked like in its final moments.

From International Best Selling Romance Novelist, Hope Hughes, comes a gripping, heartfelt tale of two lovers, fighting for the freedom to…

No. Scratch that. Too cheesy.

…two people, torn apart by the tumultuous tides of life, only to discover refuge in…

WTF? What does that even mean? DELETE.

…two people, confused as shit as to where they should be and who they should love and none of this means a damn thing because it’s all lies!

Lies.
I’m not Hope Hughes. I’m not some fierce woman romance machine. Hell, I’m not even a woman.
I’m a liar.
And while I refuse to believe my own BS, deceit masked in heartfelt phrases of love and devotion, I want to make her believe them. Because maybe—just maybe—if she can find the soul within my words, she’ll also be able to find the truth scribbled on my heart.
You see, I once lived for the perfect plot twist.
I just never expected to actually live it.
This is my story. Well, maybe her story. I just wish I could make it our story.
The one I’m still writing.

BLP REVIEW ~ Tracy

I love a holiday read and was looking forward to this one after reading the blurb…. unfortunately, while it was well written enough, it just didn’t grab me like I’d hoped.

The story was just too sweet, Holly was just too klutzy, at first I didn’t really like Michael – yeah, things had gone way wrong in his relationship with his ex but gods, he bugged me with his negativity!
When our couple finally got down to doing the dirty the whole experience was just too wordy and descriptive for me…. I just wasn’t feeling the connection and desire I suppose.

I did like the ‘magical’ element to the read and can totally get on board with that!!

So, overall this book wasn’t for me but it doesn’t put me off giving another story by Fran & Greta (aka F.G. Adams) a go.

My rating, 3*

About the Authors:

F.G. Adams writes contemporary and paranormal romance about sexy alpha heroes and feisty-mouthed heroines. The wonder twins forming F.G. enjoy a healthy obsession of reading that started at a young age. Their books reflect an avid imagination that was cultivated by their grandmother who taught them the mind has no limits and to use both hands when reaching for the stars. Partners in writing, they both thrive on creating unique storylines for you, the reader to enjoy.

When not writing, you can find them on a beach with their significant other enjoying the waves or riding a Harley on a country road somewhere in the USA.

Single dad and star defenseman Matt LaRue lives for his kids and hockey. He’s had one failed marriage and doesn’t have any interest in going through that hell again. As conservative as they come, he can’t comprehend his unexplainable attraction to a free-spirited female who changes hair color more often than his boys create new excuses to avoid doing their homework.

Violet Strider is fleeing the past. She has a new start, new identity, and is hiding a big secret. Matt and Vi are a classic case of opposites attract, but neither expects the attraction to extend beyond a few hot trysts, especially Vi. Only her heart isn’t listening, and her head is following her heart down a path of no return. As Vi grows closer to Matt and his boys, she fears her secret could rip them apart.

Relationships are built on trust, and Vi’s house of cards is about to take a tumble. Can Vi confront her past and finally put it behind her, while earning Matt’s forgiveness?

EXCERPT:

Matt LaRue had no choice but to make a deal with the devil.

A sexy, purple-haired, tattooed devil who could make his life a living hell. Strike could, and insert had and would.

Matt lived his life by a few simple principles: Never lie or cheat. Be the best person you can be. And only associate with people of the highest ethical standards. After all, he had his boys to consider. And he had an ex-wife who lacked those basic principles. He should’ve known better, and he swore he’d never make the same mistake twice. The next woman he dated would be beyond reproach, which was why his latest dilemma sucked donkey balls.

Yet what choice did he have?

Matt would do anything for his boys, including beg Violet Strider to babysit for an evening. After all, it was just an evening. She’d take good care of them, even if she pissed him off with the simple act of being in the same room.

Vi did not meet his standards in the appearance department. She had purple or pink hair and more tattoos than the entire Sockeyes team combined. He was conservative and picky, and she had a tendency toward being flighty and a free spirit. What’s more in Matt’s estimation, the free spirit label was an excuse to be irresponsible.

Vi was irresponsible—

And fucking hot.

And incredibly sexy.

She brought out the bad boy he’d long ago squelched. And he hated that bad boy. He was a father and a role model, not a man-whore. Not that he’d ever been much of a man-whore, but he’d raised his share of hell in his earlier days. Now he was thirty-four and older and wiser. He needed a wife and a mother for his boys, not a fling.

But, damn, he wanted to have one with Vi, which made no sense at all.

They’d shared one kiss in his kitchen, one long, hot, deep kiss weeks ago. After that, they’d both pretended it’d never happened, which was fine with him. Except that it had, and he couldn’t forget how her mouth felt against his, all wet and needy and demanding. He wanted to—

Fuck.

His doorbell rang, and his boys just about knocked him down getting to it.

“Vi’s here!” Andy, his oldest at seven, reached the door first and yanked it open, ignoring all the lectures Matt had given them about not opening the door before you know who’s on the other side. He sighed. Sometimes he felt he was beating his head against a brick wall.

“Vi! Vi! Vi!” Joey, his youngest at five, jumped up and down with that pure, unadulterated joy only kids could have, and his son’s enthusiasm made Matt smile. There’d been a time when neither boy had behaved that way. In those dark times after their mother deserted them, they’d been quiet and sullen. Thank God, they’d gotten past the stage of missing their mother, and so had he. None of them had seen the woman in close to three years, which was sad and tragic when he allowed himself to think about how callously she’d abandoned them.

Matt hung back and swallowed hard as a jolt of uncontrollable lust rushed to his groin. Vi stood in the doorway with a sassy grin on her beautiful face. He attempted to concentrate on how she wore too much makeup for his taste, how her clothes were too tight, and how her body was covered in too much ink. Vi didn’t do classy or toned down. Vi did in your face and take me or leave me, this is who I am.

This time her hair was purple, a deep, dark purple like the flowers that grew in his grandmother’s garden in late spring.

His gaze dropped from her pouty, bright red lips, to the bouquet of pink and red roses peeking out from her scoop-neck, long-sleeved T-shirt. Her breasts had to be inked, too. In fact, he wondered if her entire body was. Guessing by the few glimpses he’d had of that curvy body, she was inked head to foot.

Holy shit.

He was getting hard, and in front of his boys. Not that they’d notice. They were inundating Vi with questions. She just smiled down at them nervously as if they were aliens who’d dropped from the sky and didn’t speak the language. Vi out of her comfort zone was incredibly sexy.

He ran a hand through his short-cropped hair and bit back a groan.

“You’re late,” he growled, masking his lust with irritation.

“Not by much.” She grinned, now amused and not even a tiny bit sorry.
