Synopsis:

James “Mac” Maccari’s career in the mafia is at a standstill. As the best solider in his Capo’s crew, all he wants is to be noticed enough to get Made in the Pivetti Crime Family. But instead, his Capo’s interests seem more focused on keeping his solider hidden from the boss, and every other Made man he can. Seemingly stuck right where he is with no chance of going up, Mac doesn’t know what will finally get him the attention he needs to earn his button.

Until she shows up and all eyes are on them …

Melina Morgan survives—that’s just what she does. She’s never been able to depend on anyone but herself to keep her safe and get things done. When a chance encounter puts her in a bad situation with the cops and the mafia, Melina has no choice but to put her faith in the hands of a man that not only infuriates her with his cocky arrogance, but catches her interest, too. Playing pretend in a fake relationship with Mac doesn’t seem all that terrible, until pretend turns real and bullets start to fly.

A man is nothing without his woman …

When the attention on Mac and Melina turns from bad to worse, and someone in the Pivetti Crime Family decides the couple needs to go, they know they’re fighting an uphill battle alone. But making it to the end alive means Mac could get what he’s always wanted, and Melina might find what she didn’t even know she needed.

Together, they’ll make waves the mafia has no choice but to notice …

BOOK TOUR ~ Je Suis A Toi by Pepper Winters

“Life taught me an eternal love will demand the worst sacrifices. A transcendent love will split your soul, cleaving you into pieces. A love this strong doesn’t grant you sweetness—it grants you pain. And in that pain is the greatest pleasure of all.”

Q made me the happiest esclave in the world. He gave me his heart, his empire, his ruthless unforgiving love. And life finally left us in peace.

A man like my maître has special needs though, growing stronger as our lives intertwine. The only way to survive his monster is to agree to all his desires.

Including his latest wish.

I’m his.

And I won’t refuse.

Excerpt

“Don’t struggle. You know I’ll keep you safe.” Q’s murmur danced down my back.

My panic receded as trust billowed fast and true.

Q was born into darkness, but he’d never baptized me in his blackest desires. And because of that, I could implicitly say he spoke the truth. No matter what he did to me, he would never truly harm me.

Q paused, his tattooed chest soaking. His feathered sparrows fluffing off droplets almost alive on his skin. “I told you once never to fall for me. That I didn’t want the curse of breaking your heart while I broke so many other pieces of you.” His hands landed on my breasts, cupping them reverently. “Yet you fought me, just like you said you would. You fell for me, just like you promised me you would. And now, you’re willing to give me what I need even after I tricked you and lied.”

I swayed as I fell even deeper for this complex husband of mine. Q was all my fantasies in one glorious lifetime. The fact he finally wanted to share me with his child spoke volumes about his capacity to love.

“I’m so glad you ignored me, esclave.” His fingertips branded my nipples with pain. “So fucking happy you married me.” Pushing me backward, he smiled harshly as my spine met the pool wall. His chest strained as he sucked in a heavy breath. “You’re so fucking beautiful.”

My heart hammered in my ears as he kissed me.

His tongue laced with mine, and I sank into the sweet embrace, knowing it would be the last I received tonight. The air crackled with an impending storm. Q’s control frayed every second, his eyes drenching in determination and the salacious need to hurt.

Breaking the kiss, he opened his hand, revealing the other item he’d retrieved.

A tiny pair of silver scissors.

SPOTLIGHT TOUR ~ Author J.S.Scott

This complete collection of The Billionaire’s Obsession includes:

Mine For Tonight
Mine For Now
Mine Forever
Mine Completely

Down on her luck, nursing student and full-time waitress Kara Foster gets a massive blow to her already desperate financial situation that will surely find her living on the streets. Needing nothing less than a miracle to save her, Kara gets rescue from an unknown, unlikely and overwhelming source. Billionaire Simon Hudson makes her an offer that is impossible to refuse, but terrifying to accept from a man that she’s never met. Will the handsome, alpha billionaire really be a solution to her problems, or will he end up being a major complication and a danger to her emotional sanity?

Reclusive billionaire Simon Hudson would rather be behind a computer creating computer games than rubbing elbows with the elite and he knows exactly what he wants…until he meets Kara Foster. Something about Kara touches Simon in ways he’s never experienced and definitely doesn’t like. For over a year, Simon watches over Kara, but stubbornly refuses to admit his desire to possess her, not even to himself. But when she ends up in a situation that could very well be her destruction, Simon steps up to help her, not realizing that in saving Kara, he might very well be salvaging his own soul.

(This is a erotic romance. It contains graphic language, very steamy love scenes and lots of emotion.)

Bonus story – Maddie’s Secret

One Summer Evening in July:

“I think Mom has a boyfriend,” Sam Hudson stated bluntly to Maddie as he walked into the kitchen and dropped his briefcase on the table.

Maddie turned around from the dinner that was simmering on the stove and smiled at her husband, chewing on her lip just a little as she saw him. She wondered if there would ever be a day that his heartstopping, handsome face and masculine presence wouldn’t send her heart into overdrive. Every time she saw him, she wanted to drop her panties and jump on him. Even after a long day at the office, and just a little bit rumpled, her husband looked delicious in a suit and tie, his blond hair a little mussed, probably because he’d just run a hand through it from the frustration she could see on his face.

“And that would be a problem…um…why?” Sam didn’t look the least bit happy about the fact that his mother had an admirer, a fact that she’d already been aware of and hadn’t had a chance to mention to Sam. She’d just had coffee with Kara and Helen a few days ago, and she knew about the flowers, gifts and romantic notes Helen had been receiving. The older woman had been flustered, but she looked like she was glowing from the attention.

Sam came to her, wrapping his arms around her waist and moving her away from the stove, her ass hitting a cupboard behind her. “Because she’s my mother and she isn’t really sure where they’re coming from. It could be some nut job or a crazy stalker.”

Maddie pushed on Sam’s broad chest, lifting an eyebrow at him as she met his gaze, trying not to let herself fall into his gorgeous eyes. “Just because she’s your mother does not mean she can’t have a beau. If anyone deserves happiness, it’s her. And I doubt very much that a stalker or a nut job would send such thoughtful, respectful notes trying to court her.”

Sam looked startled. “You knew about it? And you didn’t tell me?” His surprised look turned into a frown.

“Yes. I just found out a few days ago and your mom looks happy. You and Simon need to leave her alone unless something inappropriate happens. This man obviously adores her and you don’t need to ruin it for her,” Maddie admonished him. “And I haven’t had a chance to tell you. We’ve been occupied the last few evenings.” Honestly, her husband had been insatiable. After returning from an overnight business trip a few days ago, it was like he had to make up for lost time by taking her straight to the bedroom. Or taking her on the couch. Or in the kitchen. Not that she was exactly complaining.

“We had to spend nearly forty eight hours apart. I missed you,” Sam replied huskily, his eyes riveted on her lips.

“I could tell,” she told him softly, her core clenching at the memories of the proof of just how much he’d missed her. “Just let things evolve with your mom, okay? I think it’s all very mysterious and romantic.”

“She’s my mother,” he grumbled.

“She’s also a woman who needs love,” Maddie reminded him.

“Simon and I love her.”

“And she loves you. But didn’t you still want me? She deserves to be romanced,” Maddie argued, pushing out of his embrace and crossing her arms stubbornly across her chest, tapping her foot impatiently, waiting for her husband to be reasonable. “Let her have this romance, Sam. Please. For me.” Okay. She was playing dirty and she knew it, but Helen was so happy, and she didn’t want to see Sam and Simon destroy it.

“Fuck! I hate it when you play that card. You know I can’t say no,” Sam answered, disgruntled. “But I’m keeping extra security on her to make sure this guy isn’t a psycho.”

Yep. She knew he couldn’t say no if she asked him to do something for her. And she rarely used that tactic because she did know that Sam would do anything for her, and she didn’t want to prey on his vulnerability. But dammit…this was important. “Thank you. I’ll return the favor when you want something,” she told him solemnly, still in awe that this strong, powerful man would bend to make her happy.

“Sunshine…I do want something,” he told her with a naughty grin, his hands dropping to the counter, imprisoning her against the cupboard.

Maddie sighed and placed her hands on his chest, wanting nothing more than to let Sam have his way with her, any way he wanted it. But…

“Wait. I have something I need to tell you,” she answered urgently, knowing she had to get Sam’s attention before he kissed her. Once that happened…she’d be a goner.

He straightened up and put his hands on her shoulders, rubbing up and down her arms as he asked, “What is it, Sunshine?”

Her heart fluttered as she heard the genuine concern in his tone. Sam had transformed from horny lover to concerned husband faster than she could blink. Her man was made up of so many layers, every one of them appealing as hell. No wonder she couldn’t resist him, loved him with every cell in her body.

She had no hesitation in telling Sam he was going to be a daddy. She’d planned a nice dinner and wine, imagined telling him after they had relaxed. But the joy she’d been feeling all day bubbled up inside her, clamoring to be shared with the man she loved. “I’m pregnant,” she blurted out, far from the delicate way she had planned on delivering the news.

Sam’s expression went from astonished…to ecstatic…and then to one of apprehension. “Why?”

Maddie smirked, unable to resist her husband’s stunned reaction. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she reminded him teasingly, “You took the job of getting me this way pretty seriously. I’m not sure why you’re surprised. Does Dr. Hudson need to give you a refresher on how a woman gets pregnant?”

Sam let out a whoop and grabbed her around the waist. Her feet left the ground as he twirled her in a circle before gently dropping her back to her feet again. “I can’t believe it. Are you sure?” he asked, his voice vibrating with emotion.

Laughing softly, she answered, “Sam…I’m a doctor. When I missed my period, I tried not to get my hopes up. I’m irregular. But I took three different tests, and they were all positive. So yeah, I’m pretty sure.”

Sam speared a hand into her hair and lowered his head, resting his forehead against hers, “Are you happy?” he asked her nervously.

“You know I am. Sometimes I feel like this is all a dream. You. Us. A baby. I’m so happy it’s almost frightening,” she answered honestly.

“It’s no dream, sweetheart,” Sam said, stroking her hair lovingly, his hand trembling slightly. “Oh, Christ!”

“What?” Maddie jerked her head back to look at his face. He was obviously upset. “What is it, Sam? You’re scaring me.”

“We had sex, Maddie. Rough, crazy sex. Over and over in the last few days. The baby—”

“It won’t hurt the baby, Sam. Sex is perfectly fine,” she answered with a soft laugh.

“I shouldn’t have been so rough. God, if I’d known you were pregnant—”

“If you would have known, we still would have had the same outofthisworld sex. Sam…our baby will be fine. Trust me,” she replied, unable to wait a moment longer to kiss him. Jerking his lips to hers, she buried her hands in his hair and savored the taste of him, nipping softly at his bottom lip before soothing it with her tongue.

Sam’s control lasted about a second before he grasped the back of her head and slid his other arm completely around her waist, bringing her tightly against him as he ravished her mouth with his tongue, hot and hungry, just the way she liked it.

After he’d kissed her senseless, he groaned, pulling his mouth from hers and rested his forehead against her shoulder. “I hope it’s a girl. She’ll be a beautiful miracle just like her mother.”

“I honestly don’t care. I just want your baby. Our baby.” Maddie sighed, her whole body tingling from his kiss and begging for Sam’s possession. She pressed her body closer, rubbing against him sensually.

“Maddie, stop. You know I can’t control myself when you do that,” Sam told her sternly, but his voice was filled with longing.

“I’m hoping you won’t,” she told him sensually, sliding a hand down his chest and tracing the hard lines of his cock with her fingertips.

“If you don’t quit, I’ll have you naked and on your back in ten seconds,” Sam warned her, but his voice was almost hopeful now.

Her fingers continued to torment him, persistent, her touch becoming firmer as she smiled up at him. She started counting out loud:

“One.”

“Are you sure it’s okay?” Sam asked, his desperate eyes meeting hers, his desire and concern appearing to be in conflict.

“Yes. Positive. I would never do anything to harm our child.”

“Fuck. That feels so good, Sunshine.”

“Two.”

“Three.”

Her shirt hit the floor.

“Four.”

Her bra hit the ground.

“Five.”

“Six.”

“Seven.”

The shorts she was wearing and her panties fell to her feet at the same time.

Sam picked her up with growl, “Fuck it. I trust you, Sunshine.”

They never made it to the bedroom and Maddie never made it to the count of ten. Sam had her on her back and moaning in record time, right there in the kitchen.

Dinner burned.

They happily ordered out a few hours later.

BLURB

Down the twists and turns of the London alleyways, where Chinatown meets the highstreets, lies a small venue where unknown rock bands often play to crowds of less than one-hundred.

Isaac is nineteen, living on the sofa of his best friend’s brother – Eric – after his bible-loving parents tossed him aside because of his sexuality. After two years of struggling to make sense of his life, Eric and Charlotte convince Isaac to attend Red’s gig; an up and coming rock band with a small cult following.

All hell breaks loose and Isaac is left injured, with the whereabouts of his friends unknown and his body crippled on the ground. It’s then that the four members – Troy, Nicolai, Kyle and Moss – aid Isaac by infecting him with a ‘magical’ virus that grants immortality in exchange for consuming blood.

The ‘Paranorm’ world is exposed to Isaac. Vampires, werewolves and warlocks lurk in the depths of the city he has lived in his entire life, but he won’t become one with the night until he completes his nine-month transition, leaving him in the hands of the band and at the mercy of vampire politics.

EXCERPT #1

“You don’t have to.” Nicolai seemed to notice my hesitation.

“I want to,” I replied as I began to shift my body down the sheets, my face dropping closer to Nicolai’s to plant another kiss on his lips before my mouth moved to his neck.

I used my tongue to leave a trail of saliva from the tip of his earlobe, down between his pecs and over his hard abs until I was knelt at the foot of the bed with my mouth hovering around the waistline of his jeans as my entire body began to shake with nerves. I wanted this; I really wanted this, but what if I was no good? At least if we were doing everything then I could rely on Nicolai to lead the way, but this required some talent on my part.

Nicolai reached down, undoing the button on his jeans and sliding the zipper down as he used his free hand to ruffle my blonde locks that I just realized might get in the way. I ran a hand through my hair, pushing the strands over my shoulders and hoping that they’d stay put. I reached out, grabbed the tip of Nicolai’s jeans and tugged them down, also bringing his black boxers down with them and causing his thick shaft to spring up in all its glory.

EXCERPT #2

I took a moment. Breathing deeply. Letting my chest rise and fall slowly. Composing myself before forcing a smile onto my quivering lips, and then I turned around to head back downstairs, as if I wasn’t fazed at all. Only, when I shifted my body towards the exit, Moss was standing with his cold stare fixed on me.

“I’m fine,” I said quickly in my defense.

Moss sighed. He began walking towards his room and turned his head from me.

“Didn’t ask,” he replied in a gentler tone than usual as he took his messy, green hair into his bedroom and slammed the door shut behind him.

At least I didn’t have to worry about him smothering me with overbearing affection anytime soon.

Excerpt

Outside the brick building, all three garage doors are lowered, but the door knob easily turns in my hand. Opening up, I call out, but get no answer. The front lights in the receptionist and waiting area are out, but the ones in the garage are on. I hear rock music coming from the same direction, so I start that way. I go past a car raised up on the lift, and then I come to an abrupt halt, unable to move another step when I see him.

Too jaw-dropping gorgeous to be real, his thick, golden hair is mussed and messy, and a hint of stubble runs along his chiseled jaw. From my profile view of his shirtless body several feet away, his smooth bulging muscles, obviously carved from granite, are covered in sweat, shining like a beacon of sexiness as he works underneath the hood of a car. Never before has sweat looked so sweet, nor the sight of a man ever been this absolutely delectable. Maybe it’s all the remnants of car fumes getting to me, but I feel lightheaded when a scorching hot inferno suddenly ignites somewhere deep inside. Unfamiliar liquid heat burns through me, like nothing I’ve never felt before.

Lord Jesus, there’s a fire…In. My. Panties.

I plunder the sea, steal what I can, and never look back. It’s a pirate captain’s life for me. When my crew and I discover a destroyed ship floating on the endless waves, we scavenge it for every scrap of cloth and every morsel of food. Inside, I find a treasure—gold, gems, and a girl. I’ll ravage the girl, spend the gold, and use the gem to buy the ship of my dreams—the Gloomy Lotus. At least that’s the plan—until the Kraken, a whirlpool, and a six-headed beast attack my ship. Despite the danger, I still intend to have my way with the girl. Nothing can stop me. I’m Cash Remington, and I take what I want.

Content Warning: This swashbuckling standalone tale stars an alpha male who takes what he wants. It’s full of sex and violence. It’s an erotic adventure, not a romance, and is not “safe.” If you’re cool with these caveats, enjoy!

AP new - excerpt.jpg

I wake when the air in the room shifts. I crack my eyes open. Nere kneels beside the bed and slowly lifts the mattress. She’s after the stone. Little minx. The sun shines in her hair, the light strands almost silver.

I add in a snore so she’ll think I’m still out. A secret smile plays across her pink lips, and she reaches farther underneath me.

In one swift movement, I yank her up and toss her onto the bed next to me. She readies to scream, so I slap a hand over her mouth. I climb on top of her nude body and pin her wrists over her head with one hand. I push one knee between hers, though she tries to clamp her legs together. No chance. I’m far too strong to be denied.

I settle between her legs, and I hiss when my cock rests against her hot pussy, only the fabric of my pants separating me from her.

“A thief?” I glare into her light eyes.

She doesn’t flinch.

“Keep it quiet or I’ll smack you.” I peel my hand from her lips and run it down her side. Her skin is like silk, smooth and warm.

“Get off me.” Her eyes narrow.

“No.” I tighten my grip on her wrists and run my hand beneath her, getting a palm-full of her ass.

“All I want is my stone. Then I’ll go, and you’ll never see me again.”

I knead her flesh, my fingers creeping close to her pussy. “It’s my stone.”

“You stole it!”

I lean down and graze my lips across hers. “I’m a pirate.”

“It’s mine. I’ll get it one way or another.” She glares up at me in challenge, and now I know I have to fuck her. The spirited ones always get to me.

“It seems we’re in a situation. One where I want something, and you want something.” I smirk at her, and her eyes flicker to my lips.

“What do you want?”

I thrust my hips against her. “As if you need to ask.”

She presses her lips into a thin line and glowers at me. “No.”

“Then I guess I’ll take the gem and go. And then you’ll never see me again.” I release her hands and lean away from her. My heart pounds, adrenaline coursing through my veins. I’m toying with her. She’s going to take every inch of me before we leave this room.

“Wait.” She places one of her small hands on my thigh. “If I let you have what you want…” She glances away. “Then you’ll give me the stone?”

No. “Yes.”

“I have your word?” Her eyes sparkle in the noonday sun pouring through the glassless window.

“Of course.” As if the word of a pirate is worth anything.

PART ONE

CHAPTER ONE

It wasn’t love at first sight when I met her. Lust? Definitely. I don’t think I believed in love at the time, but one look at her beautiful face, and all the bad stuff around me melted away. Not an easy feat for a guy in handcuffs.

Someone as innocent as her should never have gotten involved with a man like me. By innocent, I don’t mean she was some breathy, eighteen-year-old virgin ingénue. No—when we met, she was a thirty-one-year-old married lady. When I use the word innocent, it is in terms of never having killed someone. Never seeing someone die in front of her. Never breaking the law.

True violence had never touched her life.

Violence and I had been close personal friends for a large part of my life. Along with crime. And death. I used violence as a tool to keep order in my often chaotic world, just as she used the law to keep things orderly in her black-and-white one.

She was a lawyer. I was a criminal. She was married to a decent, hard-working, honest guy. I fucked any willing girl who hung out in my club, and made my living in less than honest ways.

She was kind. I didn’t know any nice women. Hadn’t known one since my mother died shortly after my eighth birthday. I don’t have many memories of her, but the ones I do have are warm and pleasant.

None of the tramps my father brought home after her death had an ounce of compassion for a motherless brat. The strippers that danced in my club seemed younger every day. A lot of them were bitchy drama queens, and the older I got, the less patience I had for emotional scenes. The girls who attended to the members of my motorcycle club were down to fuck, but not much else. That’s how I liked them.

We met in a courtroom. I sat in the area designated for prisoners. Shackles laced my hands and feet together. I shuffled into the room wearing a spiffy orange jumpsuit, the county correctional logo stenciled across my back in big white letters—just in case anyone thought I suffered from bad fashion sense.

She sat in the front row. I didn’t hang my head when I entered. I stood proud and tall looking over the entire room. Some of my brothers stood along the back wall, waiting to see if I’d get bail.

I couldn’t find my attorney in the sea of people. His big, shiny, bald dome should have been easy to spot. My gaze wandered back to the girl in the front row. Long, straight, reddish-brown hair flowed down past her shoulders. Straight bangs across her forehead framed brilliant green eyes. Even from where I sat, I spotted freckles splattered across her nose. The deep green suit she wore emphasized the creaminess of her skin. The banister separating the criminals from the common folk blocked my view of anything below her shoulders, but that angelic face hooked me right away.

The sheriff leaned over and whispered to me, “Your attorney called to say he’s running late.” I nodded and mumbled a “thanks” without taking my eyes off the girl. Was her old man locked up? Was she a witness to a crime? Would my asshole lawyer get here so I could get free and talk to the girl?

“Any other message?” I asked Deputy Brown. He was a decent guy as far as pigs went. He’d treated me with respect, hadn’t tried to bash my head into anything, and even brought me a donut before leading me upstairs to court. He didn’t get a chance to answer, because the bailiff made a big show of telling me to shut up. Arrogant prick wasn’t good enough to even be a cop, but he sure acted like one. I’d dealt with him before.

My eyes returned to the girl. She sat patient and attentive, waiting her turn. Once or twice, she looked at the clock. Only a slight twitch of her lips indicated her annoyance.

After what seemed like an eternity, the bailiff called the next case, and the girl stood up. She hauled a battered briefcase over her shoulder and stepped through the swinging gate up to the table across from where I sat.

Holy shit.

If I’d been anywhere else in the world, I would have whistled long and low to express my appreciation for the soft curves of her body. The skirt she wore fell to her knees, but it clung to all the right spots and showcased a fantastic set of calves. Her modest heels clicked over the wooden floor, calling my attention to her slender ankles. I was so busy drooling over her I missed it when she stated her name.

The dickhead bailiff brought over a chair and actually smiled at her. She thanked him politely. The judge made some chit-chat with her, and she let out a girlish giggle. People seemed to know her. Like her.

“Attorney Kendall?”

“Yes, your honor.” She stood up. Ah, she was a lawyer. That explained the chit-chat. She argued some civil matter I didn’t understand or care about. I listened to her make her case, then watched her sit down. Her opponent didn’t have a lawyer. He bumbled around and generally made a fool of himself. She listened with a passive expression, then argued her position again. The judge ruled in her favor.

I wanted her. In more ways than one after her performance. The courtroom was almost empty. My guys still occupied the back row, but that was it. If my lawyer didn’t show up soon, I’d be screwed.

I nudged Deputy Brown with my elbow. “Can she represent me?”

“I don’t think she’s a criminal attorney.”

“Just for the arraignment. To get me out.”

“I’ll ask.”

The deputy motioned to the bailiff to watch me and went to talk to the clerk. She nodded, and when the judge had a moment, she whispered in his ear.

Fuck. The girl was putting her stuff away and getting ready to leave. I really wanted her. I mean, I wanted to fuck her, of course. But I also wanted her to represent me. People seemed to like and respect her. I’d been in and out of the criminal justice system long enough to know getting out of trouble was sometimes less about what you knew and more about who you knew. If I’d gotten picked up in a different county, I could have used my connections to make this go away. Here, I was kind of stuck. I needed her.

“Attorney Kendall, could you stay and do an arraignment, please?” the judge asked off the record.

Her jaw dropped, and the color drained from her face. “Uh, I’m not a criminal attorney, your honor,” she stammered.

“It’s pretty simple. Mr. North’s attorney got delayed. Don’t make me appoint you,” he teased.

“Well, um, just for the limited purpose of this arraignment?” she asked with a hopeful lilt to her voice.

“That’s fine.”

The judge waved me over next to her. Her big eyes widened in shock as I lumbered over. I was mildly insulted. Had she really not noticed me the entire time I’d been sitting there?

“I can pay you,” I whispered down to her.

She looked startled. “It’s okay. What are we dealing with?” I liked the way she said “we.”

“Weed.”

She gave me a blank stare.

“Marijuana. Got caught with a couple blunts.” Acting on a bad tip from one of the club’s many enemies, the cops had been hoping to pin a whole hell of a lot more on me. This was why, instead of ignoring the weed like most cops did these days, I was standing here in shackles and the orange jumpsuit.

“Oh geez.” She rolled her eyes. At me or the charge, I wasn’t sure.

“Do you have a record?”

“About a mile long.”

That stopped her. She stared up at me, searching my face for the truth. Apparently deciding no one would joke about that, she nodded her head.

“Can you post bail? Do you work? Have a family?”

“Yes, yes, and yes.”

She didn’t ask what kind of work. Or what kind of family for that matter.

“Your honor, I’ve had a chance to confer with my client.” “Very well. Let’s call it.”

His clerk stood and read out, “The People of the State of New York versus Rochlan North.” Look at that—the old gal even pronounced my first name right.

My girl looked up at me again. My manners were shit. I’d never bothered to introduce myself, I guess.

The judge slammed his gavel down. First time I’d heard him do it all morning. The sharp thwack broke the staring contest my pretty lawyer and I were engaged in. “Do you wish to hear the reading of the charges, counselor?”

She hesitated for a minute, and the judge covered the microphone with his hand. “Usually the attorney waives the reading, Miss Kendall.”

“I know, your honor. Thank you. Yes, I’ll waive the reading. May I have a copy of the charges for my file, though?”

“Yes, of course. Do you wish to be heard on bail?”

“Yes, your honor. My client assures me he can pay a reasonable sum. He’s a hard-working family man, so it would be in society’s best interest to allow him to continue to work and provide for his family while he waits to address these false charges.”

I’m proud to say I kept a straight face during all of that. She impressed me with her quick thinking, though. Criminal attorney or not, she was clever. I had a fondness for clever. Clever kept you alive.

Cute and smart. I should get arrested more often.

“Very well. Bail is set in the amount of five hundred dollars cash. If your client is able to post it now, he can be processed downstairs instead of going back to county.” She looked up at me and arched an eyebrow. I nodded and motioned my crew forward.

“That’s acceptable. Thank you, your honor.”

“Off the record,” the judge said to the court reporter. He looked back up at my attorney. “See, that wasn’t so hard, Miss Kendall.” The judge’s face lit up in a wolfish smile I didn’t take kindly to. Already in my head, I’d laid claim to this woman whose first name I didn’t even know.

The sheriff came over and gripped my elbow.

“Can’t you remove the restraints, now?” she asked the sheriff with wide, pleading eyes.

To say her request stunned me would be an understatement. No one had ever given a crap about my discomfort.

The sheriff did not look surprised. He answered her gently. “No counselor, not till he’s posted the bail money. You can meet us downstairs.” He nodded toward the guys standing behind the banister. “His posse can show you the way.”

She hesitated, and I read the expression on her face loud and clear. She didn’t want to follow my crew anywhere. In fact, she looked like she wanted to run away.

“Go ahead, I’ll be fine.” I appreciated that she’d given it a try. Sheriffs wouldn’t break protocol no matter how owl-eyed innocent she acted. It sure turned me on, though. Maybe that was the moment I fell in love with her.

DISGRACE - EBOOK COVER-2.jpg

AP new - synopsis.jpg

I shamed my name. I am a whore. I am a disgrace. I’m all the things my mother made me. I wear my badge with pride because I know the truth, and only those worth a damn see me for who I am, not the label I choose to hide behind.

I am a Domme.
I would still rather be a whore than a hypocrite like my mother, or a victim like the daughter she raised me to be.

As Mistress Selina, I can bring a grown man to his knees without so much as a crack of my handmade whip.
I love the power and control—what’s not to love?
I must be mad to even consider Dominant club owner and King of Kink Jason Sinclair’s proposition.

Two Doms don’t make a right.

Self-preservation has kept me at a safe distance from the one man who could change all that. The only man who wields power like a sensual sword and keeps me balanced on that knife’s edge.
My choice is simple: He wants me to switch for him.
But if I do, will I bleed or will I fall?

DISGRACE - FULL WRAP-2.jpg

“So much for taking it slow.” My voice is breathless ragged pants of air.

“There is much to be discussed.” His gaze hold me captive, his voice is soft and mesmerising. “How we proceed with this relationship Sam…with me as your Dominant… I intend to take slow. But how I feel right now has nothing to do with that and has fuck all to do with being slow. I need to be inside you…now.” The sexual tension radiates off him like a palpable force, permeating my every nerve ending with wanton desire and rendering me almost speechless…almost.

“Oh,” One breathy exhale is all I can manage.

“Oh.” He repeats. His lips curl with a knowing nefarious smile that makes my tummy tighten with anticipation. In one swift sequence of smooth manoeuvres Jason grabs my hand, strides purposefully straight into my bedroom and dramatically swings me into the centre of the room. He steps me flush to the bed, pushing me back. He follows my reclining body with his, only millimetres separate our combustive heat. He lifts and pulls my sweater over my head and pushes me flat, his fingertips splayed on my chest. He must be able to feel my heart thumping from the inside. “Don’t move.” His deep voice is gravelly with lust. He crawls back down the bed, hooking his fingers in my waistband and dragging my leggings and panties all the way down my legs. He takes his time and I squirm with the build up of delicious pressure at the apex of my legs.

He kneels on the floor and cups his large palms around the back of my knees pulling me toward the edge of the bed. Scooping my legs over his shoulders he clamps his hands around my hips and lifts me so my centre is within kissing distance of his lips. “Fuck I could die right now… because this is heaven.” His words blur with the cry that escapes from deep inside me the moment his tongue touches my core. Soft, then firm, the pressure is perfect as he works his mouth from my tender folds to my needy nub of nerves. His lips cover me and he sucks for what feels like a life time. His hands grip hard because my whole body is thrown in to a wild display of spasms and convulsions. If it wasn’t for my cries of don’t stop I’m pretty sure he would think I was having a seizure. God this feels so good. I thread my fingers into is short but surprisingly soft hair making my need to grip a challenge. It’s a futile attempt to control him though, my hand is just pulled along, any which way his head chooses to go. He inserts a finger, maybe two and curls them around, swirling and teasing my most sensitive tissue inside.

I push my head back into the mattress and my back strikes the perfect arc as every muscle in my body tenses, not even a breath escapes me when I freeze. He holds me there on the crest for days…Christ it feels like days because I sag with utter exhaustion by the time my muscles relax and I am cognisant again.

He looks at me through his dark lashes and sensually drags his bottom lip through his teeth groaning with pleasure as he scrapes the taste of me from his mouth. “You look sleepy.” He lets my floppy legs slide off his broad shoulders and I don’t have the strength, but to let them slide off the side of the bed too. I hear a buckle chink and some clothes rustle and drop to the floor. I can’t move. He chuckles as he stalks up my body, slowly rousing it with gentle kisses. “You can’t be sleepy.” His tongue flicks my perky nipple through the delicate lace of my bra. He nips the end through the material, holding it hostage in his teeth. I sigh and stretch, sinking my body away from his bite, just enough that I test his hold and up to the point where it hurts. I whimper and can feel his lips carve a smile against my breast. I lift my head just as he releases me from his teeth but grabs and moulds me in his hand. “I’m still hungry.” He sucks my whole nipple into his mouth, hard. I feel the draw from my toes. The lace of my bra is now wet and feels rough against my soft skin, the suction is incredible. If I didn’t know better I would swear he’s trying to mark me. His large hands sweep under the edge of my bra, around and under my back. He releases the clip and he pulls away, triumphantly swinging my bra like a trophy.

I laugh at his goofy grin but the heat in his glare evaporates any humour from the room. This man is lethal. He wedges his knees between my thighs and slides on to his side, half on me, half supporting his full weight. One arm is draped across his muscled, cut torso, his hand fisting his impressive cock. I still haven’t had the chance to take him in. In the cupboard at the wedding I could feel his body was toned, felt his muscled back and chest but he kept his suit on the entire time. Even now we are a tangle of limbs, I can’t really see his body but I can see his cock. Large doesn’t do him justice. I thought his hands were big but they look more like a child’s as he languidly strokes himself up and down. His grin widens when he catches my stare, he chuckles when I snap my jaw shut. How did I not remember that and why the fuck did I not return his call!

Oh yes because this isn’t just sex, this isn’t the thrill of a casual hook-up, this isn’t me in charge…This is much, much more dangerous.

He leans over my body and pushes his velvet head between my folds and it feels surreal, delicious and erotic and wrong. I clamp my legs together but he is firmly wedging them wide.

“Condom!” I cry but it sounds more like a screech because he physically recoils at the volume.

“Sorry?” He looks down to where we are almost joined. He nudges a little further and I curve my spine sharply ensuring minimum safe distance.

“Condom Jason.” I repeat but his eyes narrow and he breathes in deeply through his nose like I have said something irritating.

“You’re clean…I’m clean. You told me last time you were on birth control. I don’t want to wear a condom with you Sam.” He grates out the words slowly with a touch of menace.

“You can’t be serious Jason. I’m a whore!” That make him flinch, his jaw clenches and his eyes look like they could burn my soul right out of me. He is furious.

“I don’t give a shit what you call yourself Sam. Give me one damn reason why I can’t fuck you bareback? One reason relating to health that is because I won’t accept any other reason.” His tone softens. I can’t believe he doesn’t care that I’m a whore.

I mean I can’t believe that he obviously cares but not about that and he doesn’t even know the truth.

I am in so much trouble.

AP new -about the author.jpg

Dee Palmer hates talking about herself in the third person so I won’t. My husband had my iPod engraved one Christmas with ‘sing like no-one’s listening’ and I know my family actually wish they weren’t listening because I am, in fact, tone deaf but it doesn’t stop me and this gentle support has enabled me to fulfil a dream. This has been a truly brilliant experience, I wrote The Choices Trilogy back to back and released them this year just one month apart…Don’t you hate waiting for the next book in a series? The entire process has undoubtedly been made possible by my incredibly supportive family. I know this is very much an acknowledgment but I know I wouldn’t be writing even this single paragraph if it wasn’t for them so this is about who I am, I am because they let me be.
