I loved this book….Katie McCoy really hooked me with the story. I’m now gonna go back and read Game On and Play Me!!!
The characters had an immediate attraction and an obvious spark!
James had a real reputation as a player and was given the nickname of the Play Maker – but we find there’s more that that tale than meets the eye! Yeah, he likes his one night stands and isn’t looking for anything more serious, then he meets Nicole….
Nicole, she had so much going on in her life that she had no time for relationships, one night stands were it…. She never had much time for herself and was always thinking about and putting other peoples needs, her brother especially, before her own. She spend the night with James but bales quickly afterwards with the intention of not seeing him again – except the sexy English footballer has other plans!!
When these two get together the chemistry and sex is off the charts, and as one night leads to two and two nights to more, suddenly both are thinking things that they never expected!!
As the story progresses we see a very different side to James than we’d have thought and Nicole has to rethink her previous concerns and expectations. I loved the way our leading man interacted with Nicole’s brother, who had Down’s Syndrome, and the references to Dr Who were great!
The banter and connection that the couple have is great reading. Being a Brit, I totally got James constant reminder that he played ‘football’ and not soccer!! 🙂
The supporting cast are fun and round out the story really well.
Play Maker was a really enjoyable read and I rate it 4.5* |

My favourite genre is PNR - yep, more than happy to admit that I’m a bit of a #parawhores...... but small town is a very close second!!! In saying that, I’ll read and review a real mix of genres - from the better known authors to new-to-me authors and everything in between.
I hope you enjoy the posts and that they might lead you to some ‘new to you’ authors.
Thanks for stopping by.
