Lies

Mig’s wife is a bitch.

How else do you describe a woman that lies, cheats and steals to get what she wants?

That’s exactly what happens when she traps him into a marriage he wants nothing to do with, saddling him with a kid that he knows doesn’t deserve to be in a world like his.

He’s doing a pretty bang-up job at ignoring everything but his responsibilities as a DEA officer and a member of The Uncertain Saints MC.

Then his neighbor knocks on his door, and everything he thought he knew is blown out the window.

Deceit

Annie teaches Mig that not every woman is out to get him.

Her love for Mig stretches past what’s appropriate for two friends, and Annie soon straddles that invisible boundary between appropriate and inappropriate.

Annie’s not a cheater, though.

When she tries to say goodbye, Mig won’t let her leave, and soon the tiny town of Uncertain blows up with the news of Annie and Mig’s innocent friendship.

Betrayal

Matters of the heart are foreign to Mig, and it takes
Annie being gutted for him to see the wrong he’s done.

He waits too long, though, and Annie’s heart is broken.

She wants it all, or she wants nothing.
She can’t take anymore half-hearted attempts at being just friends.

The heart wants what it wants, and it doesn’t take long for Mig to realize that.

But just when Mig finally has it all in the palm of his hand, his life is ripped to shreds by a new player in the game, and it takes all of Annie’s love and devotion, as well as help from the men of The Uncertain Saint’s MC, to put Mig back together again.

“Go get the door for the policemen I can see outside,” I called. “And tell them you have a DEA Agent in your house so they don’t try to shoot me when they enter.”

“I already did,” I heard Annie say as she got closer.
I saw her only a few seconds before she disappeared around the edge of the hallway into the entry way beyond it.
Then the door was unchained, unlocked, and swung open.
Three cops were the next to enter, and I nodded at the one I knew.
“Hey there, Officer Kirkpatrick,” I called to my good friend.
We had drinks every week, sometimes multiple times a week.
I had to do some creative thinking to get away from my wife, and Officer Kirkpatrick, a.k.a. Bullseye, was one of them.
Well, I didn’t do him…but I hung out with him.
Often.
And Bullseye had a hell of a wife that didn’t care if I was over there as much as I was.
“What’s shakin’?” Bullseye asked.
“These two men here decided to break into Annie’s house. I’m just here making sure that they don’t get off with anything valuable,” I answered.
The other officer, Antonio Juarez, I didn’t know very well.
He was new, and hung out with the young’uns instead of us old folks.
Well, I was thirty-four, which wasn’t ‘old’ per se, but it sure as fuck wasn’t young, either.
“What’s that in his hand?” Juarez asked.
I looked down at Howard Ryan’s hand, and narrowed my eyes.
“That’s Annie’s purse,” I answered.
Annie’s ‘purse’ was more of a beach bag, and I didn’t know how the hell she found anything in it.
But I wouldn’t know what to do with her if she didn’t have it with her.
She’d been able to supply me with an ice pack, and a water on two different occasions, so I wasn’t one to complain when it was beneficial to me.
“Well, boys, let’s go for a ride downtown,” Bullseye said, walking behind Howard Ryan and handcuffing him.
Ryan shot me an evil look as he left, promising retribution, and I smiled at him.
Bring it, little boy. You can’t handle this, my look said.
Forty-five minutes later, the cops were leaving with both men in the back of two separate cars, and I was left standing on Annie’s front porch with her next to me.
“Thank you,” she said, looking up at me with all sorts of promises in her eyes.
I touched my fingertips to her cheek and smiled down at her.
God, she was beautiful.
Long, wavy brown hair that went down to her mid back. Beautiful, full lips.
A smokin’ ass.
Light brown skin that was nearly the color of mine.
She wasn’t Italian like me, though.
She was Puerto Rican, and she wouldn’t let anyone call her otherwise.
I’d give anything to be with her but my life, and name, belonged to my wife.
God, if there was any way I could rewind a year, I’d do it in a heartbeat.
I would’ve never invited my now wife, Jennifer, to the club party.
Jennifer was the exact opposite of Annie.
Rude, opinionated, and selfish.
Now she was six months pregnant with my child, and I hated every fucking second of my life.
“You’re welcome,” I said roughly. “I’m gonna have a few men over here in the next few days to install an alarm and make sure nobody can ever do that to you again.”
“Mig, what the ever loving fuck are you doing over there?” My wife screeched.
I winced and slowly dropped my hand, looking over at Jennifer like one would a pile of fish heads and vomit.
Then I turned around when I saw she was dressed in little to nothing.
How not surprising.

EXCERPT – PG

Lying on the hot asphalt of Las Vegas Boulevard waiting for death to take him, Quinn reflected that he’d never envisioned his life ending under the chassis of a mass-produced hulk of acid green hybrid auto. He’d hoped to go quietly in his sleep when he was ninety-seven, but if it had to be a bike wreck, it should have been spectacular—fiery and with lots of twisted metal. Not with a thunk.
He also hadn’t expected to be aware that he was dying. His lungs had stopped working, even though he tried to pull in air. This sucked.
Well, at least it was a Ford Fusion and not a Prius. Although a Prius probably wouldn’t have been that green—
“Oh no, oh no, ohnoonononono.”
The voice was coming from somewhere to his right, he thought, as his vision got fuzzy. But the sound distracted him enough to pull in a breath. He forced himself to lie perfectly still, fighting the need to thrash and gasp like a refugee from Hillbilly Handfishin’.
Something poked his upper arm.
“Please don’t be dead,” came from somewhere near the poking thing, in a drawl that was half honey and half
husky—and all morning wood.
He turned his head toward the voice and took another breath. Okay. Not dead if he could hear and respond to the sound of a female. Even though he was on a self-imposed break. No more females. Especially not the kind who drove preppy cars. Nope. It was him and Mr. Handy from here on out.
Breathe in, out. Good. Ribs intact. And nothing else felt terribly beat up, either.
Something knocked on his helmet. “Is it okay to help you take this off? Your neck’s not broken, is it?”
The sun glared down on the visor of his helmet, blinding him—so he put a hand up and found another, smaller, softer hand already there.
She was still talking and apparently not expecting a response—which was good, because once she flipped up his visor, he would have directly answered the breasts spilling out of the top covering the body attached to that voice.
The aches in his bruised bones coalesced in his groin. He wasn’t one of those assholes who talked to women’s chests. At least, not usually. But damn. And these particular breasts led to a nice curvy little body, as far as he could tell from this angle.
She was quiet for a second, then said, “You look a little dazed. I should probably call 911.”
That was when he finally found her face. Heart-shaped, all rosy-cheeked and wholesome, with strands of light brown hair coming loose from where it was fastened in the back. The face of an angel to go with that fifties pinup body. Throb.

EXCERPT – R

Kellie was trying to figure out how to politely excuse Quinn for the night without sinking to the floor, wrapping herself around his knees, and begging him to stay and hang out with her when the first sex sounds came through the hotel walls.
They were not soft, gentle gasps of pleasure. No, these were groans and moans worthy of the Haunted Mansion at Disney World.
She was mortified. Here was this nice guy—a complete stranger who had sacrificed his entire evening to do her a favor—and he was trapped in a hotel room listening to people have sex. The fact that it was people she knew made it so much more horrifying.
So, this was weird. What now? “I guess they’re busy enough—you could probably escape, if you want.”
But then he gave that grin—a grin she bet had gotten Quinn into, and out of, an awful lot of trouble in his youth—and said, “No way. I bet we can have louder, better sex.”
Her whole body flushed at the thought, completely on board with the idea, but her brain was still engaged enough to recognize that she barely knew this man.
Looking right into her eyes, he let out a bellow like a wounded bull. This was followed by a deep, rumbling, “Oh, Kellie, baby. I have been waiting for this forever.”
She nearly choked on the giggles that erupted.
“Yeah? You like that, don’t you?” he said—loudly—motioning her toward the bed. He sat down, hard, onto the mattress, bouncing the box springs enough to creak.
She jumped on next to him and they alternated bounces, making sounds that she prayed she never really made during sex. Although if sex with Quinn was even half as good as it seemed like it might be, she didn’t care what she sounded like or who would hear her.
“Are you ready for me, baby? Are you ready for this? Do you want this?”
“Oh, yes, Quinn. Give it to me. Let me see that big—” She stopped and stared at him. And looked at his crotch—a totally involuntary action. From what she could tell, he wasn’t completely unaffected by their little game.
And he’d seen her look. Well, the hell with it. What happened in Vegas…
“Give me that big porn star cock, you stud,” she yelled.“Oh my God, yes. Oh, I need lube! You’re bigger than my vibrator.”
Quinn cracked up, rolling over on the mattress, covering his face with the pillow to stifle his laughter.
But then he was back in the game. He turned and grabbed the headboard and began slamming it into the wall at a rate of about a million thrusts per second.
Watching the muscles of his arm work, she couldn’t help but imagine the muscles of his ass and thighs straining to pump into her and figured she probably wouldn’t need lube if the real thing was coming at her even a quarter that hard and fast. Just the idea was making her feel a little slippery.
But as impressive as Quinn was, Kellie wasn’t going to let him be the master of her domain just yet. She stood on the bed and began to bounce, letting out vigorous “unh, unh, unhhhhhs.”
Quinn turned to watch her and said, “Faster, baby, faster.” Then he leaned back against the headboard with his arms crossed behind his head, legs stretched out on his side of the bed.
So she jumped faster. And higher. And realized that she had on a skirt, and was jumping up and down right above a hot guy that she barely knew, and he was—yes, he was looking up her skirt. When he wasn’t watching her boobs bounce.
And from the looks of things below his belt, he was enjoying the show.
Recognition caused her to lose her footing. One foot slipped off the bed, and with a cry she flew forward—toward Quinn’s reclining self, landing on him—and coming to rest with her face inches from his.
“Hi,” he said, after he caught his breath.
“Uh, hi.”
There was silence next door.
“Think we impressed your friends with our virility?”
“Oh, yeah.” Kellie was impressed with the hot, hard body beneath hers. Her legs were intertwined with his and his leg pressed against the hem of her skirt. His thigh wasn’t quite all the way between hers, but with a wiggle or two—She froze. The air-conditioning wafted over her slightly sweaty skin, cooling everything that wasn’t touching Quinn.
Her hands rested on his solid shoulders, and he had one palm on her waist and one on the back of her thigh, where her knee was bent outward in that almost-straddle position. She was in a hotel room staring into the mesmerizing eyes of a stranger in a very compromising position. If he wasn’t honorable…or if she wasn’t— And she was beginning to doubt her good-girl status.
He let her go just as she squirmed off him and to her side.
Could you say awkward?
“So. In your romance-land fake boyfriend world, do I roll over and go to sleep now that my caveman requirements have been met or do I pretend to want to cuddle, or what?”

A hero to rival any book boyfriend. A game that turns fantasy into reality.

His name is Scorch, and he’s my fantasy come to life. I should have known finding a real life hero was too good to be true. But after he rescued me from my captor I couldn’t see him any other way.

Then he tells me he works for The Vice Agency, a company that simulates fantasy into reality. And that everything I know about the last twenty-four hours is a lie.

Except for the men chasing us.

Someone wants me dead, and Scorch is the only thing keeping me alive, but he doesn’t want to be anyone’s hero. He’s a damaged husk of a man.

I swear, if we survive this, I’m going to find a way to prove to him he’s not only a true hero, but he might be more than just the man of my fantasies.

XX Chasey

Misti Murphy is a sadistic b*tch who loves to emotionally torture fictional people. If she did that in real life she’d probably end up in prison or a psych ward so she prefers to create dirty talking alphas and the sexually frustrated women who fall into their beds. And if someone needs to be smacked upside the head before f*cking turns to love then that makes her very happy indeed.

She’s a huge believer in flaws making us human, and that not everyone likes bacon. She’s also addicted to chocolate and scared of the effects of the coming shortage. She swears like a f*cking trooper, and thinks that graphic smuttiness should be as real in fiction as it is in real life.

EXCERPT REVEAL PACKET ~ RoomHate by Penelope Ward

RoomHate Excerpt
Copyright © 2016 by Penelope Ward

My heart felt like it was pounding out of my chest. Watching this whole thing unfold had made me totally lose sense of reality. I felt like I’d been experiencing every movement, every feeling right along with him, except I wasn’t allowed to come. It was as if I’d seriously lost my mind in the process. That was the only thing that could possibly explain why my body decided to betray me, letting out an involuntary sigh….moan? I wasn’t sure and couldn’t even tell you what it was except to say whatever sound I made caused Justin to jump back. His head whipped toward me, and his shocked eyes met mine for a brief second before I ran back down the stairs.
Humiliated.
Mortified.
My heart felt like it was in my mouth. Escaping out the front door and down to the water, I continued to run aimlessly on the sand. At one point, about a mile down the beach, it became necessary to stop and catch my breath, even though I wanted to keep running. I’d gotten so wrapped up in Justin that I’d forgotten how sick I was this afternoon. It was all hitting me again as I stumbled over to the shoreline and vomited into the ocean.
I collapsed into the sand and must have sat there for over an hour. The sun was starting to go down, and the tide was coming in. It felt like everything was closing in on me. I knew I couldn’t avoid going home forever.
What if he told Jade what I’d done?
That I was watching him.
Oh God.
He was going to crucify me for this.
What excuse could I possibly give him that would explain why I was hiding behind his door, watching him ejaculate like it was a Fourth of July fireworks performance?
I decided that I needed to get home before Jade did. Maybe I could convince him not to say anything. Brushing the sand off my thighs, I made my way back over to the house.
My heart nearly stopped upon finding Justin standing in the kitchen, drinking out of a half-gallon of orange juice. I stood silently behind him and watched as he put the container back.
Justin turned around and finally noticed me standing there. His hair was wet, making it appear brown instead of blonde. He must have taken a shower to wash away the awkwardness of our encounter. Looking painfully handsome in a brown distressed t-shirt that fit his chest like a glove, he just stared me down.
Here it comes.
I braced myself for his humiliating words. My heart was beating out of my chest as he just continued to look at me blankly without saying anything. He slowly walked toward me, and all of the muscles in my body tightened. He was going to get in my face and do it.
Shit.

Blurb

From New York Times Bestselling Author, Penelope Ward, comes a new standalone novel.

Sharing a summer house with a hot-as-hell roommate should be a dream come true, right?

Not when it’s Justin…the only person I’d ever loved…who now hates me.

When my grandmother died and left me half of the house on Aquidneck Island, there was a catch: the other half would go to the boy she helped raise.

The same boy who turned into the teenager whose heart I broke years ago.

The same teenager who’s now a man with a hard body and a hardass personality to match.

I hadn’t seen him in years, and now we’re living together because neither one of us is willing to give up the house.

The worst part? He didn’t come alone.

I’d soon realize there’s a thin line between love and hate. I could see through that smug smile. Beneath it all…the boy is still there. So is our connection.

The problem is…now that I can’t have Justin, I’ve never wanted him more.

Author’s note – RoomHate is a full-length standalone novel. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Excerpt:

When I grab the sketchpad off the bed he looks over at me. “Wait, my sister has a tattoo?”

He looks dumbfounded and it’s almost funny. She must not have mentioned that to him yet.

“Yeah. She has one done and the other I just started on,” I say, flipping to the page I’m looking for.

Folding the other pages back, I hold it up for him to see.

“Holy fuck man! That shit is fucking awesome. You are seriously talented,” he says, examining the details.

Last night he had mentioned that he had always wanted to get a heaven and hell type of tattoo, so I put my spin on it and made it what I thought he would like. If I’m honest, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

“When can you start?” he asks with a huge grin.

“I didn’t schedule anything tonight, so any time is good with me,” I state.

He flips the page and sees the one I was working on for Brielle.

“These are her favorite things,” he smiles looking up at me.

“Yeah, she told me about them,” I reply, watching as he looks over all the pictures. When he comes to the teddy bear, he gives me a questioning look.

“I know she didn’t tell you this one,” he points at the bear.

“The night I came back from Vegas after the photo album was sent to her apartment, she was having a dream. All she kept saying was that she couldn’t find her bear and that she knew your mom had taken it and hidden it from her. She was mumbling about her mom knowing how much it meant to her and she only took it to punish her.”

Greyson’s eyes widen and he nods. “Yeah. I remember that. She was about ten and our mom hated that thing. She tried to get rid of it a lot because our uncle bought it for her. She hated when he bought us stuff, especially when we liked it more than the things she bought us.”

Shaking my head, I can’t believe how their mother would get jealous of a damn teddy bear.

“She was showing me a few photos from when you were kids and I saw the teddy bear, so I knew it was the same one.”

“She’ll love it man. She will be stoked that you incorporated her favorite stuffed animal in it. It’s perfect,” he says, slapping me on the back.

Once upon a time, my life was good. I had a family, I had a girlfriend, and hopes for the future. That was long ago, but I remember it. A hazy dream of what could have been.
That’s gone now. I lost it all. Life fucked me over, and now I’m scared of my own damn shadow.
I’m training to be a tattoo artist, but I bet I’m not good enough. I have a roof over my head, but every morning I’m scared shitless that I’ll find myself on the street again – or worse, back in prison.
And every time a pretty girl looks at me, every single fucking time, I know I can’t be with her. Not only because she’ll find out I’m an ex-con and run the other way, no. It’s more than that. I just can’t. The thought of anyone touching me, the thought of getting aroused from that touch brings back every damn nightmare from my past to swallow me whole.
Can’t fucking do it.
Not even if it’s the prettiest girl on earth – Cassie. With her long blond hair and her pretty tits, her short skirts and high heels, she’s all my fantasies rolled into one. See, the fact she kissed one of my buddies? That’s good. The fact she looks at me like I’m a bug under her shoe? Even better.
Because it means she’s not interested in getting hot and sweaty with me, and that I can keep living that fantasy.
The fantasy that she wants to be with me as much as I want to be with her – even though I know it will never happen.

Standalone novel. No cliffhanger.
*Warning: this book contains graphic language, sex, and violence. Mature readers only. Not intended for young readers.*

SHANE is book 4 in the series Damage Control – a series set in the same world as Inked Brotherhood. The boys of Damage Control were taken in by Zane Madden and Rafe Vestri and offered apprenticeship and work in the tattoo shop Damage Control.
Next in the Damage Control series: OCEAN (Damage Control 5)

Shane is holding me, his large, callused hands on my cheeks, and then his mouth descends on mine, and he’s kissing me. His mouth is hard and hot, tasting of whisky and fire, and I’m lost against him.
He just holds me close, moving his mouth over mine. He groans when I lick his lips, letting me in. His tongue tangles with mine, and the fire spills from my mouth to my belly, setting me alight. He kisses like someone who hasn’t done it much—a little hard, a little awkward.
Perfect.
Because it’s him, it’s Shane, and the cool silk of his long hair brushes against my face as he kisses me, his tall, strong body close enough to touch if he’ll just take one small step forward. If he’ll let me close the gap and press myself to him.
He doesn’t. Even as I loop my arms around his neck, tugging, his hands on my face are like steel vises, keeping me in place, just near enough for our mouths to meet and the most scorching kiss I’ve ever been given.
Shane wants me. He wants me. The words spin in my mind in colorful, dizzying circles. I mean, he’s kissing me. Would he kiss me if he didn’t? Why won’t he let me close?
His teeth nip at my lips, making me gasp, sending jolts of fire into my core, and he walks me backward until my back hits the wall with a thump. I love all of it, love the feel of his mouth on mine, the strength in his hands, the way I have to strain upward to meet his mouth because he’s so tall. I’m so caught in the sensations that I jerk when he moves closer.
He’s breathing raggedly against my mouth. He finally crushes his body to mine, pressing me to the wall, letting me feel how aroused he is. His hard-on is long and thick, digging into my belly.
Damn, this boy’s so hot I could come just from that.
But then his grip on my jaw turns so hard it hurts. I whimper, and he stops moving, every muscle turned to stone, his mouth just pressed to mine as he pants.
Why? No, I don’t want him to stop. I like how hard he’s gripping me, how he’s bearing on me until I can feel every ridge of every muscle through our thick clothes. That he’s holding me like he’ll drown if he lets go, like he’s losing control from wanting me so much.
I want to feel that wanted. That needed. No one has ever reacted that way with me—and there’s never been anyone I’ve wanted so much. Liked so much.
My arms are still wrapped around his neck, the silk of his hair tickling my fingers, and I try to pull him closer. I let my hands slip over his powerful shoulders, down his sides, to the front of his pants, stroke over the big bulge there.
There’s the proof that he likes what we’re doing. His dick can’t lie, right?
I kiss his lips, willing him to kiss me back, to touch me more.
But he’s already pulling away, releasing my cheeks, ripping himself from my hold, his eyes wide and wild.
“Fuck,” he breathes and stumbles back. “Fuck, I’m sorry.”

Powerhouse attorney Kara Lynn O’Conner’s world revolves around her small Texas town where life is easy and safe. Focusing on her career keeps her dark secrets locked away, until Kara’s newest case resurrects old fears.

When the past and present collide, five year old Bradley Cooper may be the only one who can change everything.

PROTECTING CAROLINE by Susan Stoker
Matthew “Wolf” Steel hated flying commercial. Luckily his job as a Navy SEAL meant he didn’t have to do it very often. He’d been unlucky enough to be assigned a middle seat on the cramped jet, but fortunately for him, the woman next to him was willing to switch seats with him. Hoping for a relaxing flight, Wolf was pleasantly surprised at the good conversation and sense of humor the woman had as they flew 36,000 feet over the countryside.

When Caroline boarded the plane to Virginia to move across the country for her new job she never expected to be seated next to the hottest guy she’d ever seen. She also never expected he’d be so easy to talk to. She knew he’d never be interested in talking to her if he hadn’t been trapped in the seat next to her, but it was a nice way to spend a long plane ride.

Neither Wolf nor Caroline were prepared for a terrorist hijacking of their plane, but if Caroline thought that would be the last time she’d see, or need, Wolf, she’d be sorely mistaken.

Teaser

Wolf would’ve preferred to sit in the same row with his friends, but because they’d made their flight arrangements so late, they didn’t have a choice and had to take seats that were available. Mozart offered to flirt with the airline employee in the hopes they’d be able to get upgraded, or at least be seated together, but they’d agreed to suck it up and sit where they were assigned. They all knew they wouldn’t fit in the seats if they all sat in the same row anyway. Their shoulders were just too broad to fit comfortably side-by-side in a crunched airline row. Wolf knew his friends felt the same way he did—they didn’t flaunt their SEAL status to receive preferential treatment. It was bad enough women hit on them back home in San Diego in the bars just because they were SEALs.

Wolf hated to admit it, but he’d gotten bored with the bar scene. He was picky in the first place, and he’d found too many women just wanted to sleep with a SEAL, it didn’t matter who the SEAL was, just that they could brag later to their friends they’d done it with a legendary SEAL. The sadder part was that too many SEALs took advantage of it. Wolf could admit to himself that once upon a time he’d done that exact thing, but time and experience had shown him the encounters left him feeling dissatisfied and used. If someone had asked him right after he’d graduated from BUD/S if he’d ever feel used by a woman who wanted to sleep with him, he would’ve laughed himself silly.

Wolf knew what love looked like. His parents had been together for almost forty years. They were still as madly in love now as they were when they got married. It used to embarrass him, but lately it made him feel wistful. They’d still go on dates and hold hands wherever they went. His dad surprised his mom with romantic gifts and, every now and then, a special trip. Wolf wanted what his parents had. He wanted someone he could be himself with. He wanted someone to need him. He wanted to need someone. Wolf supposed it wasn’t manly to admit any of those things, but it was what it was.

Wolf had no idea how to go about finding that special woman though, except he knew he wouldn’t find her in a bar. The other issue was that he was a SEAL. He was sent off to crappy little countries to kill people and to keep the peace. Every now and then they were sent off on a rescue mission. He wasn’t allowed to talk about the specifics of what he did with anyone. He had no idea how that would work in a marriage. He’d seen too many of his SEAL friends get married and then divorced because their wives just couldn’t handle the secrecy and the uncertainty of when their husbands would be coming home, or even where they were going in the first place.

To be fair, not all of the marriages ended because of the secrecy and danger inherent in being a SEAL. Some ended because one of the people in the marriage cheated on the other. Sometimes it was the wife who cheated, and other times it was the husband. Wolf shrugged. There wasn’t any use in obsessing about it. Hopefully he’d someday find someone to settle down with. If it didn’t happen during his military career, perhaps it would once he was retired. There was no rule that said someone in their forties couldn’t find true love and get married.

After drifting off and thinking about his lack of a love life, Wolf flinched when he felt a hand on his arm. He hadn’t been paying attention and was actually startled. His team would get a kick out of that. Wolf was known to always be one step ahead of the enemy and to be able to have a good idea what they were going do before they did it. Now here he was letting a civilian take him by surprise.

He opened his eyes to look at the woman sitting in the aisle seat next to him. She was ordinary. He took in her jeans, sneakers, and long sleeve T-shirt at a glance. Her brown hair was pulled up into a messy knot at the back of her head. She looked to be in her early thirties. She wore no rings; had very little makeup on, her nails weren’t polished; she had little gold studs in each ear and was looking at him expectantly. He inwardly sighed. When he was younger Wolf loved when women hit on him, now it had gotten old. Granted, this woman didn’t look like she was the type to throw herself at a man, but he’d learned that looks were deceiving when it came to what women wanted.

Glancing in her direction, Wolf thought the woman appeared to be mulling over telling him something. This in itself was fascinating, since in his experience, women tended to get right to the point of what they wanted to say. Her hesitation made him more interested in hearing what she had to say to him and he waited, patiently, as she gathered her thoughts.

Excerpt:

She could smell the aroma of coffee and it was enticing. Throwing her legs over the side of the bed, she slipped into her moccasin slippers and still dressed in her tank top and booty shorts, she stuck her head out into the hallway. She could hear the shower running. Thinking she could get her coffee and get back to her room before he got out, she headed for the kitchen. She walked through the swinging double doors and looked around. She hadn’t come in here last night. It was a gourmet kitchen with every amenity a gourmet chef might want. She went over to where the coffee pot sat, reached up into the cabinet above it and found a cup and poured herself one. She brought the mug up to her nose and inhaled its aroma letting the steam seep its way into her pores as she did.

She took a sip just as she stepped out into the living room and nearly choked on it. Damien was standing in the center of the room, rubbing a towel through his hair. He was completely nude and Paige had never seen anything like him in her life. Something coiled deep inside of her, something she’d never felt before…like a dam on the verge of collapse. Her body trembled with a raw need. He looked like he’d been sculpted out of clay, or stone. His smooth tanned skin encased a body of solid muscle without an inch of fat anywhere. Brilliantly colored tribal tattoos sleeved his entire right arm and climbed up to his collar bone and neck. On his inner right forearm was the word ‘PAINE’. They caught the light of the sun coming in through the glass walls and Paige wanted to trace them with her fingers. She stood rooted to her spot, fighting the violent urge that coursed through her body to touch him. She could picture herself running her hands across his broad shoulders and letting her fingers dance down across the most defined set of pecks and abs she’d ever laid eyes on. She let her eyes roam over his body freely, soaking in every detail, and as they fell on what he carried between a pair of muscular, shapely thighs, the words “total package” ran through her mind.

“There’s coffee made,” he said, without looking up. He knew she was there watching him. His confidence…or was it arrogance…only served to turn her on more.

“I got some, thanks.”

She was surprised that her voice even worked. It felt like everything inside of her was shaking. He looked up at her then. Paige wasn’t sure what her face looked like at that moment but whatever it was amused him. His sexy full lips quirked up on the edges in a mischievous grin as he said, “If you need a shower, it’s free.”

He turned away from her then and she couldn’t help but watch the flexion of his taut ass and quads as he walked away. His back was as muscular and defined as his front and he had tattoos across his upper shoulders as well. When he disappeared from her sight, it still took her several seconds to recover her heart rate and breathing enough to move herself forward. Paige shivered, then allowed herself to picture him again and finally headed for the shower…a cold one, at that.
