Length: 60,000 words

Blurb:

She’s come back to steal his heart.

Ty Jenkins is a good man. For five long years he’s devoted his life to his young daughter, Katie, giving everything he’s got to make sure she won’t miss the one thing she can’t have–a mother. When that very woman blows back into town, Ty’s world is turned upside down. He’d do anything to care for Katie, but caring for her gets complicated when he still has feelings for the woman who abandoned them both.

Jodi Morgan has made a lot of mistakes in her life, and the biggest one of all was giving up her infant daughter the day she was born. But now she’s back in Big Sur, California, determined to be there for her girl however she can. What Jodi didn’t count on was the way she feels about Katie’s father. Between his devotion to Katie and his work-honed body, Ty is one hell of an attractive package.

As two parents begin a journey to do what’s best for their child, they rediscover the feelings they once had for one another. Can Ty trust Jodi not to leave again? Has she come to be part of Katie’s future? Or will she steal his heart?

Excerpt:

Ty stood and watched her as she gazed out at the ocean beyond the railing of the deck. He remembered the first time he’d laid eyes on her almost six years ago. She’d been standing behind the counter of his aunt’s coffee shop, all that pale blonde hair piled in a mess on top of her head. Her cornflower-blue eyes—eyes he knew as well as his own now—sparkled when she smiled at customers, and he’d felt it immediately. As if a bolt of lightning had struck him, he’d wanted that girl. He’d wanted that sparkle and glow to be for him.

And for a brief time, it was.

But now, as he quietly watched her, none of the sparkle was there anymore. None of the vibrancy that had been so magnetic when they’d known each other earlier. No, Jodi was different. He could see it in the set of her shoulders, the way she held her arms so tight against her body. Then she turned and looked at him, and it was in her eyes. It was breath stealing, the sorrow he saw there, but he steeled himself against it. Closed himself off and let a layer of armor wind around his heart and his body. Because no matter how sad she might be, she was here to upend his life, to try to take the single most important thing he had, and even if it made her sad for the rest of her life, he wasn’t about to give her what she wanted.

Katie wasn’t negotiable.

“You came,” she said, giving him a small smile as she turned more fully, the thin embroidered cotton dress she wore blowing around her thighs in the breeze.

Her hair was still that same shade of platinum it had always been—so rare for an adult to be that blonde naturally, but Jodi looked like the fae out of some Nordic fairy tale, all fair skin, white-blonde hair, and pale blue eyes. She was tall at five ten, he was taller at six two, and she was strong—long legs, wide shoulders, narrow hips—but buxom as well, a Viking warrior princess.

He gave himself a little shake, remembering that if she wasn’t exactly the enemy now, she sure as hell wasn’t his friend.

“Surely you didn’t expect me to find out you were in town and just ignore it?”

BLOG TOUR

Title: SoulDeath
Series: Soulmate

Author: J. Thompson

Publication Date: October 13th 2017
Genre: Paranormal Romance

IMG-20171011-WA0058

Synopsis

Even Death craves love.

All of her life, Andromeda has felt like she was outside looking in. With only a few friends and a mother
who is a sandwich short of a picnic, she feels she can do little else but bury herself in her work.

At 24, Andromeda is the youngest Master Silversmith in the country, commissioned on a daily basis to
create bespoke pieces that speak of love and beauty. On the outside, her life seems perfect, but at night,
Andromeda feels the stab of loneliness, feels the bite of having no one to share her hopes and dreams with, no one to hold her and be that shoulder to cry on.

Dreams of different lives fill the void until a commission brings with it a tall, dark stranger with eyes like
the midnight sky. He enters her life and pierces her soul, bringing with it a hunger that scares her but also
excites her.

Hades, lord and god of the underworld, has watched over the realm of Elyssia since the great battle. He
has spent his long, lonely existence watching over the souls that enter his realm. A summons from the
goddess of love forces him back into the world of the living, making him see how much of life he is really
missing and uncovers a secret he has been hiding for over 500 years.

Cashing in on a favour owed to him by love, can the dark prince of Olympus find his happy ever after, or
will fate see to it that gods can’t have love like the mortals can?

Warning: forget what you know about the Greek myths and legends, forget what you’ve read in the
history books, for the gods make the rules and it’s up to the mortals to defy them.

Excerpt

400 years past- Olympus, seat of the Gods

Hades sat on his throne that had been placed at the front of his temple that overlooked his realm. The underworld, home to the fields of Elyssia, fields of punishment, Tartarus, and much more, was his home and his charge.
His task as the lord of the underworld was simple; to house the evil souls that passed, letting them receive justice as they lived out their deathly existence in purgatory. On the flipside, Hades was able to watch the souls that were granted passage to the fields of Elyssia, a place where they were reunited with loved ones and were also give the option to be reborn.
The great god watched as a fresh influx of souls entered the fields where many waited to see if their family had joined them. Most were filled with trepidation at being in this unknown world. A world from myth and legend. It hadn’t helped at all that this particular group had been greeted by the guardian himself. Cerberus had managed to escape from his leash and had bounded down upon them. If they were not already dead, Hades was positive the three-headed dog would have caused many a heart to falter. Only, if they looked closer, they would realise he wasn’t the evil hellhound of legend but rather an overgrown puppy who craved love and attention. All he really wanted was a scratch behind his ears and maybe a tummy rub, but few would venture past a horrified look at the drooling jowls and sharp teeth. His barks of delight at seeing a friendly face would always be misinterpreted for aggression and would quickly send them running, not giving him the love the big, soppy oaf craved.
As with most days, the souls that were permitted onto the fields of Elyssia were greeted by Hades’ staff and those relatives that had decided not to move on and be reborn. Even though death was the reason they were here, most now smiled brightly and welcomed their time in the underworld. Those that had immediately decided they wanted to go back to the mortal world were led by Hades’ faithful servants towards the river Lethe. This graceful river flowed through the underworld and called to those that wanted to start afresh, unburdened by their past mortal life. They were given the chance to be reborn and to live out a new life with no knowledge of their past. The myth of past lives stemmed from this very river and its mighty powers, but over time, this power diminishes and is how the mortals are able to gain some semblance of their past memories.
Hades let his eyes roam over the throng of souls from his perch. He was vigilant in making sure none of the damned had made it through the barrier that separated the fields of punishment and the fields of Elyssia.
It saddened the great god that mortals took their short lives for granted; most who entered the underworld died well before old age had taken hold, their life threads cut when there were still things to finish and life to experience.
Both men and women of all shapes, sizes, and colours walked into Elyssia, bowing before him as they passed, their eyes widening only slightly when they realised the legends were, in fact, true. It wasn’t a surprise to know that even though the mortals still prayed and worshiped the gods, their actual belief was wavering.
He swept his gaze once more over the small crowd, happy that all had been accounted for and would be taken to wherever they preferred to spend their time. His gaze snagged upon a bent head of ebony hair that shimmered like the wing of a raven as the starlight touched upon it, it fell straight and true down her back. But it was her eyes that had captivated him, they stopped his heart for a second and changed the course of its beat. His soul pulsed deep inside as if she had a direct link to it. He felt like her delicate hand had wrapped around it and pulled.

Young veterinarian Nathan Brooks spent every childhood summer with his neighbor’s granddaughter Julia Hart. As a small boy, he’d been impressed by her attack on him with a plastic bat after his border collie attempted to eat her kitten. He knew he’d marry her someday. Childish spats evolved into something sweeter until suddenly, cats and dogs didn’t seem so incompatible.

But Nathan’s mother succumbed to cancer and his father and brother took solace in addiction. For Nathan, golden days grew few, and far between. Cast out of his home, Nathan had to make his own way in the world. For the first year, he managed to keep everything together. The year after that, his life fell apart and he left behind the only girl who ever mattered.

Three years after Nathan left her, Julia Hart is living in her grandmother’s house next door. Nathan has returned home to open his own practice.

They have a lot of unfinished business.

Evidently, neither has been able to move on. But what can he offer her? They haven’t spoken since the day he walked out with no explanation, and Julia’s not about to let bygones be bygones. Not after she’s spent three years shoring up the walls around her broken heart. Besides, he’s not exactly convinced he’s the best bet.

But fate has a way of knocking down walls when it gets good and ready. Even if Julia and Nathan are not.

This is the first of two novellas containing animal antics and a second chance romance. Partial proceeds will be donated by the author to children’s cancer charities.

“Julia, you asked me to talk, so please talk to me.”

She sat up tall on the low stool. “Brooks, you want the truth?”

“Please.”

“I am monumentally pissed at you and I don’t know if I can ever get over it.” She tossed back her hair. “You called me your Hart and then you left me. You didn’t fight for us and it totally wrecked me.”

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s a little late.”

“Look, I’m not making excuses. I am truly sorry for everything. I wasn’t mature enough to deal with it when everything got shot to shit.”

“That sounds like an excuse to me, Brooks.”

“I’m stating facts. I shouldn’t have treated you that way. First I was a kid clinging to my dying mother’s skirts, and then after she passed, I was overwhelmed.”

“And I was what, just a precocious little girl with a mouth too big for my own good? And yours?” She stuck out her palm. “And don’t tell me my mouth was just the right size for you, smartass!”

Nathan smiled at her with a touch of the old fire. “You were an insanely intelligent, spunky, maddening, gorgeous, lovable young woman. And I suspect you still suffer from word vomit.”

“Well . . .” Jules shrugged a shoulder as Greg knocked and stuck his head in the room.

“Jules, your next victim’s waiting.”

“Okay, thanks.” She stood and searched her file drawers for various handouts, which she gave to Nathan. “I want you to go home and read these while you elevate your feet for the rest of the evening. Tomorrow, I want you to start doing these exercises. Don’t be a slacker. I want you back here in three days.”

BLP REVIEW ~ Tracy

Cats & Dogs (Part 1) by Jess Molly Brown was overall a good read.
It took me a little to get into the story and I was a bit peeved with Nathan’s reasons for leaving Jules as he did but as I continued reading the pair grew on me.

It was a sweet second chance story with some interesting characters.

I’m interested to see what happens next for the couple.

My rating, 3.75*

Don’t be fooled by the seeming tranquility, Jess is scheming. There are a lot of characters in her head and all of them want out.

A best-selling author, she edits for professional authors and is always tutoring somebody. She got her start ten years ago, in Twilight fan fiction, and is proud of it.

Four great kids, one husband *coughbiggestkidofallcough* and two dogs ensure that the house is always messy. The garden’s overflowing with blooms, but weedy. The grass always needs cutting, provided it’s not buried beneath snow. She lives in Canada, eh? The dogs are walked, the kids get fed, the hubbs hasn’t killed anybody yet, the books Jess reads she reviews, and somehow, the people in her head manage to make it into stories. Occasionally, she embarrasses her kids by doing Zumba in front of their friends. It’s just how she rolls.

BLOG TOUR ~ Lustful Lies (Lustful Trilogy #2) by Maggie Adams

BLOG TOUR
AVAILABLE NOW!!

TITLE: Lustful Lies
AUTHOR: Maggie Adams

COVER DESIGNER: Designs by Wes Nemo

RELEASE DATE: Sept 26, 2017

In the beginning, it was good…

That’s how I look back on this time in my life. In my sexual prime, a widow escaping the mundane, seeking the darker art of romance. Romance? Ha! It was an obsession, a compulsion to discover the sensual being hidden for so many years.

I was a fool.

I ran rampant with the fever of sexual discovery, from submission to Dominance, edge play to slavery, I was willing to try it all. I would seek out willing participants in debauchery from online sex sites to chat forums. It didn’t matter. It was safe to play online, to meet in groups of like-minded people intent on pleasure.

Or so I thought.

When drugs and alcohol make the mind blurry and the hands unsteady, someone could get hurt. When the highs of pleasure can go no higher, when slavery and edge play take on dangerous thrills for the Dominant and frightening scenarios for the submissive, it is time to safe word out. So, I did.

But no one listened.

Now I must live with the consequences. I must decide to run away or face the challenge before me. I must discern the truth from the lustful lies.

Vegas was a bust, my dear Diary,

Too many authors vying for the attention of readers. The only thing good to come out of it was meeting Anne Gordon and her husband, John. She was my table partner, a best-selling erotic author, from rural Kansas, and funny as hell. She was also a girly-girl like me, and dressed for her sexy persona in a corset and mini skirt. I sort of wondered if she was wearing panties. John was quiet, sort of intense. He kept staring at me. It unnerved me and yet aroused me. And his hands…. God, they were fuckin’ fabulous. Long, strong and tan. I got wet just staring at them.

She asked me to dinner with them and I accepted. After two bottles of wine, we were all feeling a bit buzzed as we headed back to the hotel. John suggested a nightcap to celebrate their anniversary. I congratulated them and made noises about not getting them a gift. He said he had some fabulous Scotch in their room and we could discuss this “gift” there. I laughed and thought, what the hell, although I had no idea what he was talking about.

I toasted the happy couple and asked if they had gotten any special presents for each other. They shared a look and Anne replied that they wanted to fulfill a fantasy of a threesome with a call girl, but they both didn’t care of the anonymity of that.

This is where I choked on my Scotch.

John took the glass from me, cupped my face with his big hands and kissed me. God, he was a good kisser. His tongue twirled and lips pulled at mine. I was drowning and I didn’t care that his wife watched. When the kiss ended, I blinked and Anne stood before me, naked. “We read your article on How to Undress a Man. Let’s put it into action.”

John stepped back and Anne came into my space, her hands cupped my breasts through my silk blouse as she kissed me. Her lips were soft and light, but just as arousing. I felt my panties dampen. She stepped back and I looked at her. “Yes?” she whispered.

I don’t know if it was the wine or the ache of loneliness, but I didn’t think. I simply replied, “Yes.”

The Choices I’ve Made by J.L. Berg

Release Date: October 1st

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Death is easy.

Surviving it? That’s the hard part.

Dr. Jake Jameson knows this all too well. Losing his mother at the age of eighteen, he walks away from his small hometown and the painful memories it holds, vowing to never return again.

Twelve years later, he finds himself driving back down the coast of North Carolina. When his father leaves him a small medical practice, he has no choice but to heed the call until he can find someone else to take it off his hands.

But coming back home means facing everything he left behind, including the one woman who might make it impossible to leave again.

Molly McIntyre has spent her entire life in one town. Taking over her parents’ small inn, she’s settled into a quiet, happy life. But all of that comes to an abrupt halt when Jake shows up at her door in need of a place to stay.

Molly loathes everything about this man, but she can’t find it in her heart to refuse his request.

After over a decade, these former lovers quickly discover what once burned brightly between them has only grown in their time apart. Soon they must decide if the choices they’ve made have led them back to each other for a second chance or one final goodbye.

Excerpt:

After two glasses of wine and an hour of feeling sorry for myself, I decided I’d had enough self-pity for one day. Rising from my cozy chair, I took one last look at the sparkling water as the moon rose high in the sky. How one could ever get used to a view like that, I’d never know. I’d been raised in this house, and still, it never ceased to take my breath away.

After a quick stop by the kitchen sink to rinse out my glass, I headed to the large pantry, deciding I needed a little baking therapy to pass the time. Although the Lovells had offered to take care of their own meals since I comped the room, I decided to treat them for their help over the last week.

As much as I hated to admit it, I couldn’t have done it all without them.

Grabbing flour, sugar, and a few more items, I settled on a family favorite recipe—zucchini bread. I’d added my own little flair to it over the years, but the basic recipe was still the same.

There was something almost restorative about the process of mixing ingredients. With no need for a recipe anymore, I found myself humming a song I’d heard on the radio earlier in the day, and my mood began to lift.

That was, until the doorbell rang.

Wiping my hands on a dish towel, I checked my appearance in the hallway mirror, rolling my eyes at the flour that coated my cheeks.

My mom always said I was a messy baker. I guessed some things never changed.

Putting on my best face possible, I prepared myself, morphing into the hostess with the mostest. It didn’t always happen, but every now and again, I’d have unexpected visitors. People who’d missed the last ferry and were in desperate need for a place to stay or others who had just fallen in love and didn’t want to leave.

In every case, I always found a place for them, sometimes even giving up my own rooms to accommodate them. Pulling open the door, I greeted the late-night visitor with a bright smile. But, the moment I saw his face, that familiar rugged jaw and piercing blue eyes, my smile faded into something less than pleasing.

“What are you doing here, Jake?” I nearly snarled.

“Is that any way to greet a guest?” he replied sluggishly. He was clearly drunk.

“Did you drive here in that state?” I asked, looking over his shoulder to make sure a car wasn’t wrapped around the neighbor’s tree.

“No,” he answered. “Waited until I was parked outside before I popped open the bourbon. Did you know, if you park right there”—he pointed behind him, making his sloppy posture even worse—“you can see the backyard? You still like to sit out on the deck, huh?”

My cheeks heated with anger as I realized my private moment of sulking had been witnessed by none other than hotshot Jake Jameson. I sighed, noticing the way his eyes followed mine.

“What do you want?” I finally asked, averting his gaze.

“I’m a wayward tourist in need of a place to stay.”

My arms folded across my chest as he made himself at home, breezing past me to stumble into the sitting room. His large body seemed to melt into the couch as I tried not to think about all the things we’d done in this room while my parents were out of the house.

“You have a place to stay, Jake,” I reminded him. “And, no matter how much you try to convince yourself, you’re no tourist. Not even a fancy degree could change that twang in your voice.”

He laughed, a sound that made my spine tingle. “You’re right. I can’t seem to shake it. But it does do me some favors every now and then.” He gave me a quick grin and a wink, causing me to nearly spit fire.

The idea of him using his stupid accent to get women into bed—it shouldn’t have affected me so, but it did.

It really did.

“Look,” I said, feeling my never-ending river of patience suddenly drying up, “it’s late, and I know you’ve had a rough day, but—”

“I tried, Molly. God, how I tried.”

“Tried what?” I asked, pinching the bridge of my nose.

“I tried to forget you. But I never could. I tried to forget this place and all it represented, but the memories never faded. You never faded.”

My heart galloped a little faster, but luckily my anger won the race. “You’ve got to go, Jake. You can’t stay here.”

“But I can’t go back there, Mols. I can’t go back to that house. There are too many ghosts. Too many memories. It hurts.”

The way he’d said it reminded me of the scared boy I’d once held in my arms as he wept for his mother. It tugged at the few remaining heartstrings I had for this man, and suddenly, I found myself caving.

“Fine.”

He instantly perked up, turning his head, as his bright blue eyes found mine again.

“But you will pay double, and don’t expect any special treatment.”

He nodded as he tried to stand, swaying back and forth. I ran forward, keeping him from crashing into my antique coffee table. The generosity I’d felt just moments before was already starting to bite me in the ass.

“Got it,” he said as my hands wrapped around his muscled biceps. That intense stare of his was back as his fingers found mine. “You won’t even know I’m here,” he whispered, the smell of bourbon on his breath.

“Highly unlikely,” I grumbled, pulling my hand from his. The heat of it remained, like a brand against my skin. “Now, you can take the—”

“Yellow room,” he said, finishing my sentence.

It had always been a favorite of his. Mine, too.

“Fine,” I replied, trying to seem unaffected by his demand. “I assume you still remember the way?”

He held up his palm in front of his face. “Like the back of my hand.”

“That’s the front, Doctor.”

He laughed, sounding drunker than I’d ever seen him. “Right.” Taking a few steps forward, his body brushed against mine. “I like it when you call me doctor.”

I took a deep breath, putting some much-needed space between us.

“You would. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have bread to bake.”

“Bread!” he nearly shouted before chuckling under his breath. He said in a hushed tone, “I love bread.”

“Go to bed, Jake.”

“You first.”

Those two words were like a cold bucket of water. His gaze suddenly sharpened as a tingle went down my spine. Both of us knew he wasn’t talking about sleeping, and for a moment, I let him know it.

No eye roll or quick-witted comeback. I just stood there, letting myself indulge in a single moment that signified a lifetime of memories.

And then the jerk threw up on my shoes.

I’m a California native, who lives in the South – Virginia to be exact. I still prefer sushi to fried chicken, avocados to okra, and I absolutely loathe humidity. I do love watching the seasons change though. My husband and I have been here for over a decade, and I still get giddy like a school girl every time it snows. It’s magical!

I’m married to my high school sweetheart, and we’ve been blessed with two beautiful daughters and two rescue pups I like to call my “coworkers”. I’m obsessed with chocolate, minions, anything Harry Potter and I love to watch re-runs of Friends and Gilmore Girls!

BLOG TOUR ~ King Of Code by CD Reiss

SBPRBanner-KoC-BT

King of Code, an all-new intriguing and sexy
standalone from CD Reiss is available NOW!

king-of-Code-v4-full

King of Code by CD Reiss

Publication Date: September 18th, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance

From New York Times Bestselling author, CD Reiss, comes a sexy tale of
secrets, intrigue, betrayal, and a love worth crossing a continent for.

Taylor Harden is a man on the edge.

The edge of fame. The edge of untold wealth.

The edge of utter humiliation.

He built an unhackable system, and in front of everyone, it’s hacked.

His reputation goes from king to goat in a split second. Boom. Like that.

Some dude in Barrington, USA (AKA Nowhere) has locked down Taylor’s code, and if he doesn’t get it back,
he’s going to be wearing a monkey suit for the rest of his life.

Except, this guy? This hacker from Nowhere? He’s not a guy.

Harper Watson’s all woman. And she has a plan for Taylor, his code, and his body.

Excerpt:

“About time!” the older lady shouted.

“Is Harper back?” I asked, handing the bags to the blushing redhead.

As if summoned, Harper came through the swinging door, keeping it open so everyone could get past. She looked at me through the screen.

“You coming in?” she asked.

“We need to talk.”

“Did the decryption key work?”

The door slapped closed behind her as she came out, and we were alone. The way the setting sun hit her cheeks made her glow, and the strands of gold hair at the edges looked translucent. She belonged on a postcard.

I kept forgetting she was holding me hostage. I kept forgetting I needed to think strategically. I had more at stake with this girl than I’d ever had with another.

“Did you doubt it would work?”

“Not really. I’m just making conversation.”

“What are the thorns about?” I pointed at the thorn bed that had eaten my phone and went down the stairs to the yard.

She came after me. “Don’t you have these where you’re from?” She snapped a dry twig off the end.

“Roses? Yes. Impenetrable, groomed thorn bushes in our yards? No.”

“It’s not normal to give the gardeners in town something to do?” We walked around the perimeter.

“You are not normal.”

“It still blooms in spring. It’s really nice. You should see it.”

We were at the back end of the yard, where the very top of the factory’s roof cut the horizon.

I took her hand, pulling her to a stop. “Harper.”

“Taylor?” Her hair flew in her mouth when she turned, and she drew her finger across her cheek to get it out.

What was I supposed to tell her again? That I knew we’d interviewed her. That I didn’t give her the job despite her having a leg up on everyone else we saw.

But was I contrite? Accusatory? Was I just going to relay information? What did I want out of her after I told her I knew?

“Thank you for helping today,” she said. “If you’d asked me when we met, ‘Would Taylor Harden help clean the factory?’ I would have said, ‘No, not for any reason.’ But there you were. Pushing a broom. Scooping up shit. Not being an asshole.”

“My watch was at stake.”

“Yeah. Whatever. You can say what you want to keep your reputation as a shithead intact.”

“I have a reputation as a shithead?”

“You know you do.”

I did know it, and I reveled in it.

She faced me and put her other hand out. I took it, holding both hands between us. I couldn’t help it.

“Well, you guys are such a bunch of sad sacks I had to help. And let me tell you, every guy in Barrington has a little asshole in him. Trust me. I’ve played pool with them.”

“I want to say…” She stopped herself as if she really didn’t want to say. “Let’s get together tonight and get you another decryption code. But… saying this is stupid.” She bit her lip.

“Say it anyway.”

“The sooner you get four codes, the sooner you leave.”

I looked at our hands so I wouldn’t have to look at her.

“I’m not sure if I want that,” she said.

About the Author_21A6258_pp-fb

CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up she’s at the well hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.

She’s frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn’t ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.
