SNAP Release Day Blitz

It seems as though the past week has drug along awaiting this day. I can’t wait to share Hazel’s story with all of you. Originally I said that this would be one book. But, it can’t be. This story has grown, the characters have gotten more complex, and had I made it one book, I would’ve had to cut out a lot of the story and not give my characters the ending they deserved. So I’ve split it into a trilogy. Don’t worry, this just means you’ll get more of what you want! You’ll know exactly what that is after you read this book. Thank you for your understanding.

Phil

“Strip.”

She stands there for a moment staring at the ground, her shaky hands twisting together.

“Do not make me do it for you, Hazel.”

Slowly she unbuttons and unzips her pants. I love that sound. She pushes them down and steps out on unsteady legs. Her hands go the hem of her shirt and grip it so tightly her fingers start turning white. Taking a shuddering breath, she pulls it over her head and drops it to the floor. Her bra and panties are awfully nice for going to work in. She must have worn them for him. Anger scorches my veins at how little she thought of me on our date. She didn’t wear anything like this for me. I admire her body in her pretty underthings wishing I had seen the bruises that formed by my hand. As I get to her stomach, my eyes grow wide and a smile spreads over my face. Tiny pink streaks trail down where my fingers once raked her skin. If I thought my dick wouldn’t work for a while after she nailed it, I was wrong.

“Take those off too. He’s not here to see them.”

Against her wishes, I make her shower. She tries to close the curtain, but I pull it open. Shivering beneath the water, she washes her body and tries to hide as much of herself as she can. The suds on her slick flesh make me ache to pinch each and every one until they pop. An image of blood oozing out of every bubble as it bursts has my heart pounding in anticipation of what’s to come. Unable to wait any longer, I shut the water off and yank her from the tub. She slips out and lands against me, the water on her body soaking into my clothes.

Without a second thought, I pull her into her bedroom and shove her onto the bed. Looking around, I spot some scarves on top of her dresser and grab them. I attempt to grab her wrists, but she fights me and scoots away on the bed. The word no slips from her lips. My vision blurs as I grow more furious. I hate the word no. I despise being told no. Before I know what’s happening, my emotions get the better of me and my fist strikes her face. There’s an audible pop and blood gushes from her nose. It makes me think of the bleeding bubbles.

Her hand covers her face as she chokes on her sobs and the blood. It seeps through her fingers dripping on her chest in slow motion. Each drop exploding as it lands on her skin. My darkness, her life. The perfect mix of truth in my world.

Marked by an Assassin by Felicity Heaton

A snow leopard shifter exiled from his pride twenty years ago, Harbin treads the dark path of life as an assassin, driven by a hunger for vengeance, mercilessly hunting the Archangel members who attacked his kin, murdering his mother and sister.

When a new contract comes in and the mark is a snow leopard shifter, he can’t resist venturing into the mortal world on a personal mission to find out why one from a normally peaceful species now has a price on their head. What he finds in a rundown nightclub isn’t quite what he expects—a beautiful snow leopard female that awakens a fierce hunger inside him.

Aya has spent seventeen years living in London, immersed in the underbelly of the fae world, keeping her head down and her tail out of trouble. But when trouble walks right into her life in the form of a sinfully handsome, dangerous assassin, she is pulled into a whirlwind of events that stir up the nightmares of her past but might just give her a shot at putting those ghosts to rest—if she can resist the dark allure of a male she knows is her fated mate.

Can Harbin and Aya resist the passionate fire that blazes between them as they chase the vengeance they both crave? Or will they surrender to their deepest desires?

Excerpt

His leather boots were loud on the polished black stone floor that reflected warm torchlight up at him, a clunk and a scrape as he trudged along the broad arched corridor of the main entrance of the guild, heading towards the first reception room. He adjusted his grip on the black pack slung over his good shoulder and stifled another grimace as he dragged his injured left leg in line with his right and braved another step. Fiery pain bolted up the limb from a point just above his ankle, shooting through his entire body.

Harbin growled under his breath, grinding his teeth together as he bore the pain and forced himself to keep moving. He could rest soon. He could sleep for days and forget his injuries and the fight that had brought him dancing too close to death.

Again.

But, fuck, it had been a good fight. It had been worth it. The pain. The taste of blood on his tongue. The sharp crack of bones breaking beneath his fists and the metallic tang flooding the air as his claws rendered flesh. A judder went through him, a brief flare of pleasure that wracked his tired and battered body. It had been worth it, for that momentary and elusive sense of calm and belonging, of retribution and release, and the one thing he craved above all others. The one thing that fuelled him, drove him to keep striding forwards, stopping him from looking back, and that he did his best to pretend didn’t exist inside him like an eternal bloody flame.

Penance.

Penitence.

Harbin pushed away from those two words. They had no place inside him. They were impossible for him to achieve, the one thing beyond his grasp, forever just out of reach. His sins were too great. Atonement was nothing more than a dream.

Or maybe a nightmare.

One that haunted him despite his best efforts to escape it.

Voices rang along the black walled corridor towards him and he ignored them, not interested in the idle banter of the rest of the guild males as they took a welcomed breather from their profession in the safety of their home. He was only interested in taking a breather himself. A long one. Maybe those days might roll into a week of sleep.

He sighed at the thought.

His broken body probably needed that much rest in order to recuperate swiftly, and gods knew his mind needed that amount of time to pull itself back together. Unlike some members of the guild, he didn’t have the advantage of being able to accelerate his healing process. The elves were lucky sons of bitches.

Although, you couldn’t pay Harbin enough to make him switch places with Fuery. The male’s eyes were verging on black now, only a sliver of violet remaining around his pupils like a dying corona of the light in him. How long before Fuery lost himself to the darkness?

Hartt, the chief and founder of their guild, often wore a look when he was watching Fuery, one that told Harbin that the elf knew their comrade was circling the drain and it was only a matter of time before the darkness consumed the last of him and transformed him into something straight out of a nightmare.

Harbin dragged his bad leg up and managed another step, quickly shifting his right before his fractured tibia gave out under his weight. It was times like these, when he was fresh from what had felt like more of a war than a fight, but had emerged the victor against all odds, that he couldn’t help wondering just what colour his eyes would be if the darkness that lived within him could show in them just as it could with the elves.

Would they be darker than midnight?

Was he as close to falling into the abyss as Fuery was?

On days like today, he felt as if he was. Every inch of him hurt now as it sank in that he was home and his mission was done, but it wasn’t a physical pain. He could no longer feel the hot burn of his wounds. He could only feel the cold burn of the hollow inside of him, the scraped out chasm where his heart used to be.

Harbin idly rubbed his chest with his free hand, not feeling the pain as his left shoulder blazed, his healing skin rupturing again beneath his tight black t-shirt. Warm wetness bloomed there, soaking into the cloth before trickling down his biceps.

“You look like hell,” someone muttered as they passed him, heading towards the doors.

Harbin ignored them and kept moving forwards, determined to reach the sanctuary of his quarters and lock himself away for a week of uninterrupted sleep.

He finally stepped into the first reception room, an equally black affair that had always looked as cold and imposing to him as he supposed it was meant to be. Hartt had done a good job of creating the perfect image for their guild, building a black fortress in the middle of what had once been little more than a wasteland in the free realm of Hell. An entire town had sprung up around the guild, catering to those who were drawn to it, either as a client.

Or an assassin.

Harbin had visited other assassin guilds in Hell and none had the nightmarish quality of their home. He put half of their business down to pure aesthetics. People saw the guild and it matched the image in their head of what an assassin’s home should look like—cold, dark and dangerous—and they gave it their business. Hartt had been a clever son of a bitch when he had started the guild all those centuries ago. The elf certainly had a head for business.

One that matched his head for killing.

“Hartt’s seeing people about it now.”

Harbin glanced across at two young males where they lounged in the horseshoe of black velvet couches near the unlit monstrosity of a marble fireplace to his left. They were both new recruits as far as the other guild members were concerned, having only completed a few easy jobs for little pay.

The blond raked his fingers through his short hair and cracked a wide grin. “I might go for it.”

Harbin snorted at that at the same time as the young wolf male reclining near the blond.

“I’d pay double to see you go up against a shifter… and a cat no less. At least that Harbin guy isn’t around to hear about it.”

That stopped Harbin in his tracks and he frowned across at the two males, studying the brunet wolf to see if he was speaking the truth. A cat shifter?

He had turned towards them before he had even contemplated moving and was at the back of the couch where the wolf shifter lounged before he had even realised he had moved. He stared down at the pup and the male slowly lifted golden eyes to him, his expression falling slack and lips parting as he took him in.

Harbin couldn’t blame the kid for looking shocked at the sight of him. He rarely interacted with the other assassins, definitely never with the rookies, and he probably looked as if he had been dragged through the darkest reaches of Hell.

Which he had.

“Cat shifter?” he said and the male nodded dumbly. “Hartt has a job requiring the elimination of a cat shifter?”

The wolf gathered his wits and shot him a cocky smile, one that irritated Harbin because it said what the wolf wouldn’t. It asked whether he was hard of hearing or just plain crazy. He hadn’t lost his mind. Not yet anyway. He just wanted to be sure that he had heard things right, because in the close to twenty years that he had worked with Hartt as an assassin, there had never been a job involving a cat shifter.

The blond kid got off the other couch and quickly crossed to his friend, hunkering down beside him and bringing his mouth close to the wolf’s ear.

“What the hell are you doing? That’s Harbin… Hartt said not to mention it around him,” the blond whispered so low he practically mouthed the words, but Harbin’s sensitive ears picked them up.

Harbin narrowed his silver eyes on both males, his lips compressing into a thin line as he contemplated the only reason why Hartt would want to hand out the job before Harbin could hear about it.

The cat shifter was a snow leopard.

He growled, flashing short fangs at the males, and shoved away from the couches, limping quickly across the black floor towards the door in the corner of the room to his left that would lead him to Hartt’s office. He shoved it open, the slam of it hitting the black wall on the other side echoing around the room at his back and the corridor in front of him, and snarled as he picked up his pace. His left leg trembled under the strain but he gritted his teeth and pushed onwards, the fire burning up his blood keeping him going.

Someone had put a contract on a snow leopard shifter, one of his kind, and he wanted the details.

He wanted to know why Hartt wouldn’t give the job to him.

Silvery fur rippled over his forearms before he could stop it, a brief flash of his other form brought out by his agitation. He sucked down a breath and controlled it, his skin cooling as the fur disappeared.

It wasn’t as if he held any allegiance to his kin anymore. He had burned that bridge twenty years ago and there was no way in Hell of reconstructing the charred remains of it. The thought that Hartt believed he was incapable of dealing with a snow leopard shifter mark was insulting. He could be as methodical and removed from the situation as he always was. The rage that had consumed him in the aftermath of the event that had driven him from his pride had made sure of that. It had killed all of his softer emotions and only a hunger for bloodshed and death remained.

He passed several doors to other offices, his own included, his gaze locked on the black door at the end of the corridor ahead of him. If Hartt was in an interview, the assassin in question was about to get a rude interruption and shown the door in a not too friendly fashion.

Harbin slammed the flat of his left palm into the door and it flew open.

COVER REVEAL ~ Snap by Tara Dawn

Snap Facebook cover

I’m super excited to share the cover of SNAP with all of you. This book has been a journey for me and I’m glad that I decided to take it on. Originally, this book was supposed to be a romantic suspense, but it took on a world of it’s own going far deeper and growing bigger than I had planned. It became something far more. A story about adapting. A story about survival. I wasn’t ready to write a trilogy or a series. You guys would’ve hated me had I split this book up. And I didn’t want to do that to you.
So be prepared for one hell of story when this book drops November 17th.

RELEASE BLITZ ~ Let’s Ride by Rebecca Black

LetsRide-evernightpublishing-JayAheer2015-banner2

Hello!

Thanks for having me today so I can give my new book Let’s Ride a shout out.
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I really love a good, quick read. Busy lives often don’t leave as much time as we’d like for reading, do they? I’m not always so bothered about the backstory, I just want to live vicariously for a moment through the characters as they experience that first rush of lust and desire in a new relationship – I want to get a little hot and tingly 😉
Well Evernight’s Romance on the Go range is all about fulfilling this reading need and my new release Let’s Ride is a part of that.

LetsRide-evernightpublishing-JayAheer2015-finalimage

Let’s Ride started life as an erotic short that I wrote for Masturbation Monday (a meme that I write for most weeks). I saw a black and white photograph of this gorgeous, androgynous woman sat on a kick ass motorbike in just a pair of knickers and this piece of flash fiction just fired out of me. Talk about inspiration!
She looked like she wouldn’t take any crap and she looked very capable of sweeping someone off their feet. It got a lot of great feedback so I decided to extend it and lucky for me, Evernight liked it too.
I’ve read some great books with well written dominant male characters, both straight and gay, but I really wanted to write a recognisable archetype with a twist. There isn’t one good reason on this earth why the hero has to be male. Let’s Ride completely rejects that assumption. Jo is confident, self-assured and has a dominant streak a mile wide, but she’s also a beautiful woman, inside and out. She rides into town and sweeps Mary-Beth right off her feet and into her bed. I love her (I know I’m not supposed to say that because I wrote her, but I really do!) and I hope you do too.

Thanks for reading!

Rebecca

Let'sRideCompleted teaser

So here’s the blurb:

“I would do just about anything to be on the back of that bike when she leaves this place.”
Trapped in a small town life, Mary-Beth always knew there was something better out there. Then Jo rides into town and walks straight into the diner where she works. Sexy, dominant and self-assured, Jo is everything Mary-Beth wishes she could be. Their hot, intense meeting crashes through Mary-Beth’s small world and offers her the promise of a new start.
Will Mary-Beth leave everything behind and ride with Jo towards the chance of a new life?

Excerpt:

Standing by the window, I’m trying to take a lunch time customer’s order but my attention is caught by a bike riding into the gas pump out front.
I hold my breath. She is pretty much everything that I wish I could be. Tall and lean. Enough fuck you attitude to tame a horde of marauding Vikings. She straddles that bike like she was born to it, like she never rode a trike. Like she just stepped right onto all that horsepower and with a flick of her wrists rode off into the sunset, giving everyone the finger as she went.
I would do just about anything to be on the back of that bike when she leaves this place.
She kicks the stand and moves the bike smoothly into its stationary position, slinging her long leg over the back wheel.
I jump a little when our eyes meet through the window. I’m supposed to be taking this guy’s order but I got distracted, seriously distracted. She smirks when her eyes roam over the redness in my cheeks.
Heat has suffused my body; a fine sweat has broken out on my skin and I know I’m in trouble. So much trouble.
I manage to scramble my brain sufficiently to take his order and drop it off at the kitchen. Moving around the bar, I grab the coffee pot to do refills. I can’t stop looking at the door.
Will she come in? Or has she just come for gas?
Please let her come in.
I want to see her up close—I want to see her eyes—that flawless skin. I want to run my fingers over the black shaved hair on the sides of her head, run them through the longer top that she has greased back. I want to watch her eyes close with the pleasure of it.
I hold my nerve when I hear the bell ring over the door. I’m pouring coffee—it really wouldn’t do to spill it and burn a customer. I’m bent over slightly to reach the cup, and my skirt brushes against the back of my legs when she walks past me.
I smile distractedly as the customer thanks me, turning my head to see she has taken a seat at the bar.
Walking over on shaky legs, I smooth my damp palms down the front of my uniform apron.
She sits tall, resting her elbows on the counter. Her legs are open, one heel of her heavy black boots hooked higher on the stool than the other. Her jeans are tight, riding low on slim hips, well worn with a small rip over one knee. A tight white t-shirt stops a few inches from the waistband of her jeans, showing smooth lightly tanned skin that I desperately want to touch.
Her knowing gaze follows me as I move around the bar to face her. I can almost feel a pressure on my skin where it touches me.
“What can I get for you?”
“What have you got?” she asks in a low, husky voice. Her eyes lock on mine. Her eyebrows are like a raven’s wings, perfectly shaped, drawing my attention across her arresting face.
“Pretty much anything, as long as it’s deep fried and unhealthy,” I say wryly.
She laughs. The sound is low and rough and strokes over my nipples.
“Always tastes good, though, don’t it?” she replies. That smirk plays across her mouth again as her gaze drops to my lips. “I’ll just take a coffee for now. Think I’ll get something sweet in a little while…”

RELEASE BLITZ ~ She – Part 2 by Annabel Fanning

I recently saw a photograph with the saying: “create what you wish existed”. I took that saying to heart in bringing She Part 1 & 2 to life. Within them, I wanted to write about a couple where everything goes right — no roadblocks, no drama-for-dramas-sake, no bullshit — just simplicity. Why, you might ask? Because I want to show that it’s possible. I want that passionate, playful, all-consuming, heart-wrenching love to exist, so I created it in these books and in these characters.

I’d like to live in a world where everyone knows that they are worthy and deserving of this type of romance: the game-changing, breathtaking, smile-inducing romance. And that everyone can experience this type of pleasure: the erotic, earth-shatteringly-good, yet grounded in equality and respect type of pleasure. That’s why I wrote this story.

I’ve loved every single minute that I’ve been immersed in their world, and I hope you are able to experience as much fun and laughter while reading it, as I did writing it. Send me an email or a message with your thoughts or questions. I’d be happy to hear from you.

Big love, Annabel x

About Annabel Fanning

Annabel Fanning began writing songs as a child, the most memorable of which was entitled: “Tropical Night in Switzerland”. Throughout her teens, songwriting was the most rebellious form of expression that she was willing to partake in (no tattoos, drugs, or biker boys), and her love for storytelling developed. There was just one problem: music wasn’t her passion. A month before her 20th birthday whilst sitting under the Californian sun a few deck chairs down from Robert Pattinson, inspiration struck, and Annabel began writing her first novel. The years passed and now at 26, Annabel has written a handful of novels, which she plans on releasing throughout 2015/16.

Teaser

The bar is noisy, dark, and bustling with Friday night activity. A large crowd of people stands between me, in the doorway, and the bar itself — my destination. I’m motionless on my sky-high heels, observing the scene. Then I sway a little unsteadily, no doubt due to the copious amount of wine that I drank at dinner. I flatten my dress, straighten my posture, lift my head high and demand my usual composure to resume. OK, so composure might be too strong a word to describe my usual state. But tonight I’m not myself; I am, quite literally, being someone else. Don’t fuck this up, I tell myself, as nerves unexpectedly take ahold of me. It doesn’t help that I’ve never played the type of game that I’m about to play… Just do it how they do it in the movies.

I peer through the mass of people and spot him, sitting alone at the far end of the bar, waiting. Then I start walking, parting the crowded room as I go, batting my eyelashes at those I pass, smiling cordially, getting myself into the appropriate mindset for the game ahead.

It feels good in here; the other visitors are lively, and upbeat, and happy. On the other side of the crowd the room seems somehow quieter. I can hear the music playing from speakers above (an old-fashioned jazz tune), and for a few moments my attention is taken by the splendour of the decor. It is to die for: art-deco everything, just as advertised. I observe the bay windows, beyond which the dark night conceals the view of the ocean that I’ve waited years to see. Tomorrow, I think. Right now I have another, more urgent thing to attend to.

My eyes fix on the man sitting alone at the bar. My target, my game plan, my kill of the night. My stomach jolts. Jeez, he’s gorgeous, and he’s dressed in accordance with the style of the room: smart black suit pants contain his long legs, a crisp white shirt accentuates his taut, muscular torso, black suspenders hug his body in a way that I’m envious of, and a light pink bow tie sits under his stubbled neck and jaw and just so happens to match the colour of my dress. Perfect. His medium-blonde hair is slicked back, completing the look. He is breathtaking, a flawless mix of classically handsome and modernly sexy.

He looks up at me for the briefest of moments, then looks away, and then does a double take. I’ve captured his attention. Good, I think. Very good! He looks me up and down, openly, brazenly, and my nerves make themselves known once more. Cool it, Gem, I warn myself. You can do this, I give myself a pep talk. Just don’t break character first.

The man’s engaging pale-green eyes are alight as he surveys me; I can see within them the same desire that I feel within myself. Good, I think again. We’re both here for the same reason — to pick up.

My nerves somewhat calmed, I continue walking until I’m two seats away from him and I pull out a barstool. His eyes widen slightly. Hmm, did he think I was going to sit next to him? Did he think I was going to make it that easy? I smile to myself, tearing my eyes away from his beautiful face. Instead I sit, and turn my attention towards the barman.

“Votre spécial pour la soirée, s’il vous plaît,” I smile. Your special for the evening, please.

He nods and goes about getting my drink. On my left I can feel the man’s eyes on me, he’s piercing me with his gaze, so much so that I’m drawn, like a moth to a flame, to look at him. When I do he smiles at me, dimples becoming pronounced in his chiseled cheeks, and I feel a current of carnal longing head straight for my groin. Him…and I…oh, this is going to be a good night!

He leans forward across the vacant seat between us, to ask me, “Would you like to play a game?”

I can’t help but smile back. I thought we already were, I say in my mind. Out loud, I answer with a nonchalant shrug, “Sure.”

His smile broadens slightly, drawing my eyes to look at his full, pink lips. “Say I like cops without your lips touching.”

Immediately I do as he asks, but my words come out as I like cocks rather than cops, causing both of us to burst into immature giggles. I roll my eyes at him.

The ice broken, the man points to the empty seat between us. “May I?” he asks.

“Sure,” I say again, this time a little more warmly.

He moves over to sit next to me and a sudden, exciting, electrical charge begins to build between us. It’s potent right from the off, and makes my heart hammer in my chest. We look at each other, both of us feeling it, both of us instinctively knowing where our night is headed.

“What’s your name?” he wants to know.

“Let’s not,” I say immediately, shaking my head. “Let’s keep that a mystery,” I request.

He nods his agreement, a smile playing on the edge of his lips. Then the bartender delivers my drink, and my late-night rendezvous raises his own glass up to toast mine.

“Cheers,” I say as seductively as I can.

We both take a drink, never taking our eyes off of one another. The charge keeps building. It’s hot and steamy inside this bubble we’re in.

“Miss. No-Name, you look phenomenal,” the stranger coos, his voice full of allure, the tips of his fingers teasing my knee.

I shift out of his reach. I can tease him too, I think slyly. “Thank you,” I grin at him. “Do you like my dress? It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” My knee-length, light-pink dress with intricate black-bead detailing might just be the most special garment I’ve ever had the pleasure of wearing. It fits over my five-foot-seven, svelte hour-glass frame in a confidence-boosting manner.

“Very,” he compliments. “Much like its inhabitant,” he says.

I ignore his latter comment. “My boyfriend bought it for me,” I tell him, proudly.

“Your—your boyfriend?” he stammers, looking surprised. “Where is he tonight?” he asks, looking around the crowded room.

“Upstairs. In our room,” I explain quickly. “He’s…working,” I lie. “We just had a late dinner, during which he partially pleasured me under the table,” I overshare. Seriously, Gem, is that how you speak to a stranger? Move right along, I order myself. “Now he’s working.”

“Only partially?” the stranger seems perturbed. The look in his eyes tells me that he’d like nothing more than to remedy my situation. “I don’t like the sound of your boyfriend. No wonder you’re down here, prowling,” he says, his eyes gleaming.

My heart hammers even harder in my chest. “I wasn’t going to let a good night go to waste,” I shrug, attempting to be nonchalant once more.

“Just as well,” he smiles at me; a smile that I feel all over my body. He sucks on his bottom lip in that unconscious way he does… Shit! I shake my head. You don’t know this man, I remind myself.

Refocussing myself, I ask, “And you, stranger? Are you here with someone?”

“No,” he shakes his head quickly. “I’m here alone.” He lifts his glass to take another swig. I smell that he’s drinking whiskey, straight, and I revel in knowing that I’ll taste it on his tongue soon. Very soon.

I can’t keep a smile from forming on my lips. “I was hoping that might be the case,” I confess. Then, bravely, I lean in and press my lips against his for a brief moment before forcing his mouth open with my tongue and brushing it against his. Mmm, he tastes delicious. Our eyes are open and locked on each other the whole time. I brush my tongue slowly against his again, smiling at the same time, before I pull back and suck on my own bottom lip, whispering, “I like whiskey.”

His face lights up. Oh, this is so much fun!

BOOK PROMO ~ Gypsy Hope by Jillian Neal

Hi everyone,I’m so excited to share Gypsy Hope with you! I love the way the designer captured Brock and Hope for the cover of their novel. They are a very special couple with a very special story. I promise all of the hot sexiness that always comes with a Gypsy Beach novel, but Brock and Hope’s tale has another element that I think makes their story all the more compelling.

Around the world, 757 million adults over the age of 15 cannot read or write a simple sentence. Thirty-two million American adults cannot read and the illiteracy rates in this country aren’t improving. We know that one in four American children grow up without learning how to read, and that students that don’t read proficiently by the end of third grade are four times more likely to drop out of school.

My oldest son was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was eight. Dyslexia is a learning disability that affects the ability to read and comprehend. Forty million American adults are dyslexic and make up a large portion of illiterate Americans. I wanted to give voice to those who struggle with illiteracy, and I’ve partnered with ProLiteracy for the release of Gypsy Hope to help them stamp out this global crisis. ProLiteracy is an organization that works to educate and provide resources to help teach adults to read. For every copy of Gypsy Hope sold, I will donate $1 to ProLiteracy.

If you love to read hot, sexy romance, or know someone who does, consider ordering a copy of Gypsy Hope and know that you’ve done something to help. Share the cover and the story on social media to help us get the word out. We can all do something to help. Working together, we can make a difference in the lives of so many. By simply purchasing a book, we can help ProLiteracy help those who need it most.

They meet on a beach. . . . Abby Davis isn’t wearing a skimpy bikini or sipping umbrella drinks, not when she’s busy chasing around four little ones. And Matt McKinney isn’t looking for fun—he’s a Navy SEAL, a grown man with a long list of missions . . . and fallen brothers.

They only have a week. . . . Abby has brought her children to this beach to start over, to give them the enjoyable memories they deserve. Matt’s been sidelined by a combat injury, and haunted by the best friend he lost and the promise he made: to remain a SEAL—focused and dedicated. This leaves no time for what he’s always wanted: a family.

But a week is all it takes. . . . Matt opens her heart while Abby soothes his soul. And though they plan to say good-bye when the week is over, something magical happens on that beach, something neither can forget. Something utterly, completely worth falling for.

NOTE FROM CLAUDIA

& CHARACTER INTERVIEW

Happy first birthday to Matt and Abby!! I can’t believe it’s been a year since Worth The Fall left the nest of my tiny writing closet and went into the world. I can’t thank you all enough for reading, for sharing, and for loving Matt, Abby, and the kids as much as I do. I hope you enjoyed catching up with them in Worth The Risk and you’ll get another sweet update in JT’s, book Worth It All.

Matt and Abby mean so much to me and Worth the Fall is about falling in love, making choices and taking chances. It’s also about believing you’re enough, believing you’re worthy of what’s being offered. I absolutely LOVE these characters. I spent three years with them before I ever considered writing their story, then almost three more years writing it. Any minute of any day, I can pop into their lives, be a fly on the wall. It’s like watching your favorite movie that never ends!

Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down with Matt and ask him some fun questions. 10 questions, to be exact!

10 questions from Inside the Actor’s Studio:

“Thanks for having me.” Matt sits back in the leather club chair and checks his watch. “I’ve got ten minutes before all hell breaks loose but we’ll do what we can.” *smiles*

1. What is your favorite word?

Hmm…The first word that comes to mind is glubs, Mary’s word for gloves. She’s three now and we were outside the other day and she said, “It’s cold. I weally need my glubs.” Now we all call gloves glubs. Makes me smile every time I hear it.

2. What is your least favorite word?

Vomit. Or more like the phrase, “I just threw up”. I cringe and thank God for my wife who handles things like that way better than I do.

3. What turns you on?

That’s easy. Abby. Everything about her turns me on. Dressed up and in heels, that’s killer. But a t-shirt and sweats does it for me too. Hair down, I run my fingers through it. Hair up, I kiss her neck. Hearing her laugh, seeing her smile, watching her…um…Sorry. *smiles embarrassed and runs a hand through his hair* Your fault for leading my mind there. Next question.

4. What turns you off?

Black licorice, black jelly beans. Always has. My brothers used to put all of theirs in my Easter basket. They paid dearly for that.

5. What sound do you love?

Favorite sound…I guess it’d be the combination of sounds when we’re all out in the backyard and everyone’s happy. Abby and I were just talking about this the other day, how much we love that sound. *wide smile* Even if it only lasts a minute without anyone needing a bandaid or fighting over a swing, it’s a beautiful sound.

6. What sound do you hate?

The alarm clock. Every damn morning. I still wake up around four, a habit from the military, but the alarm says time to get up. Time to leave Abby all warm and wrapped up beside me. Or okay…yeah. *sheepish grin* Maybe she’s not always asleep.

7. What is your favorite curse word?

Fuck. It works. And when I’m alone I tend to let an entire string fly, get it all out. It’s obviously a no-go at home.

8. What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?

*thinks for a second, shakes his head slowly* Sorry. I got nothing. I honestly can’t think of a single thing I’d rather be doing. Every house I flip is something new and different. Abby helps me with the details, like what tile goes with what granite, and all that. I’m home in the morning to help get the kids ready for school. I’m here at night for homework, bath, and bed, which can turn into a full scale assault. I honestly don’t think my life could be any better.

9. What profession would you not like to do?

*shrugs* Anything that’s not this.

10. If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

I hope he’d say, false alarm. Like, Hey, Matt. Just checking in, you can go back now. Because the thought of leaving my family is… It’s just not something I ever want to think about.

BLP REVIEW ~ Rebecca

I’m struggling as I write this review which is irritating because ‘Worth the Fall‘ was a 100% 5 star, loved it read and a totally unexpected pleasure – everything I’ve written doesn’t do it justice and, in a sea of choices for romance, I want it to stand out, to somehow express how sweet this story is.

Claudia Connor reminded me why I read romance, why I love a man in uniform and how when family, love, humour and romance is done well, just how invested and captivated I can be in a book and its characters. She’s a new author to me but one I will be investigating further (AKA Stalking!!!).

When I want that mix of romance, humour, hot and heart-warming my go to authors are Kristen Ashley, Rachel Gibson, Jennifer Crusie, Marie Harte, Susan Andersen and Jessica Prince. Claudia Connor was an unknown to me but her style is much like these favourites of mine. The cover is deceptive because this is not just your average military boy meets girl, hot and steamy commences then HEA, boom, done.
It’s a lovely, sweet tale that has grabbed you before you know it, the writing flows so easily. Matt and Abby you will root for, the children totally steal the show and whilst the couple have their issues and angst as the relationship progresses, I smiled through the whole book. Matt is all hot military alpha career man, Abby is a widow pregnant with her fifth child when they meet and it’s so refreshing to have a man happy and comfortable to take on kids. I love all the interactions between them, Annie, Jack, Gracie and Charlie will steal your heart as effortlessly as they steal Matt’s.

Before I read this I probably would have said sex with a pregnant woman would not be hot in a romance book, just goes to show how wrong I was because Oh Boy ** Fans Face ** !!!!!!!!!
This one, if you love this genre, has it all – humour, hot and steamy, romantic, heart-warming, emotional, sweet and captivating, I thoroughly enjoyed it and this was her debut book so I’m looking forward to reading ‘Worth the Risk‘ because this was a damn fine start to her career.
