button-synopsis

Samantha “The Body” Dixon had once been a famous runway model who’d walked every catwalk from Paris to Milan and back again. When her career abruptly comes to a screeching halt, this leggy blonde sets out to prove she’s got a whole lot more to offer than just a pretty face and killer rack – especially when fate lands her back on her former fiancé’s radar.

Benjamin Atkins might have once been the most in demand photographer in the fashion industry, but times have changed, and he’d learned the hard way to value substance over style. Now, he’s built a new life doing what he loves in the beautiful town of Paradise, Tennessee. That is, until the woman he could never forget struts back into his life.

When these two ex-lovers reconnect after a bitter break-up, can they overcome their heartbreak and find a way back to their own personal paradise found?

Paradise Found Teaser She Wanted Him

Ben shrugged negligently. “Can’t help it. It’s a really great ass. Always has been,” he complimented her easily as he eyed her body appreciatively.

It ought to be, Sami thought wryly as her body heated under the weight of his stare. She’d certainly worked hard enough to maintain it over the years. For all the good it had done her, she thought bitterly. Even after all the dieting and exercising, she’d still lost her modeling contract to a younger, shinier version of herself. Of course, that wasn’t Ben’s fault and being a bitch to him now wouldn’t get her job back. “Thanks,” she muttered, “It’s not quite as perky as it once was, but I try to keep it in shape.

“Trust me, babe, your ass is as gorgeous as it ever was,” Ben assured her with a playful wink.

God, was she imagining things or was he actually flirting with her? Mentally giving herself a sound slap on the back of her head, Sami knew she couldn’t let her thoughts wander in that direction. She needed to cut this painfully familiar banter off now. “That doesn’t answer my other question, Ben . Why are you following me?” she questioned impatiently as she stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and turned to face him.

“I’m following you because I think you and I have some things to discuss,” he answered evenly. “In fact, we’re long overdue on having a chat, don’t you? It’s time we hash some things out between us.”

Automatically shaking her head, Sami backed up a step, wholly unprepared to go down that road with Ben. “Uh, I don’t think that’s a good idea, Ben. I think we said everything we had to say to each other three years ago, didn’t we?” she asked before turning and resuming her walk down the street.

Paradise Found TEaser Vixen

button-review

I’m gonna have to move and find me a town like Paradise…. 🙂

I really enjoy these books from the Sarah O’Rourke gals and Paradise Found was no exception.

A great second chance romance – one of my fave genres – along with some interfering friends, favourite characters from the series and a hero determined not to make a mistake again, Samantha didn’t stand a chance when it came to meeting Benjamin again!

While I understood her motives behind leaving him in the first place I didn’t agree with what she did and she should have spoken to him – but as with all good stories, there wouldn’t be a book if the characters used their common sense and did the right thing now, would there??

This story was packed with humour, chemistry, heat, love and affection.

A great read and another fun instalment in the Paradise series.

I rate Paradise Found 4*

Can love break through the walls?

Intimacy in a grocery store, on the back of a bus, in the surf, a nightclub, a cable car. Just for starters! Businessman Eric Madison takes his and Charlotte’s ‘thrills’ sex to an all new high.

But Charlotte Castle’s feelings for him grow to the point where a casual affair is no longer enough. Even though she risks losing him, she has to let him know how she feels.

Will Eric overcome his fear of love and commitment or will Charlotte have to walk away from the only man she’s ever loved?

Chapter One

Charlotte Castle

He trailed a slow path of kisses over my stomach. My muscles clenched in toe-curling anticipation until he was there, massaging my slick, aching cleft with his hot tongue. “Come for me, angel,” he murmured against my flesh, his words uttered in that soft, lilting Brazilian accent that got me every time.

I gripped his hair as he sent me to the brink of ecstasy with every slide and twirl he made. I inhaled sharply, arched into him, wanting more, needing more. He glided his tongue around the lips of my sex, lapping at my clit until my body trembled.

His tongue went deeper into my slit, lapping and sucking and swirling while I moaned louder. My grip on his hair tightened, my body melted as I reached the pinnacle, about to soar

A deep voice sliced through my erotic dream. I blinked hard trying to recall where I was and realizing through the lust haze in my brain, I’d been asked a question.

Paul, my colleague in the Physics faculty readjusted his too-big spectacles as he stared at me, silent, waiting for my response. “Sorry, what was that?” I didn’t know why I was having this daydream in the staff room.

“I asked if you wish you were overseas again.”

Clearing my throat, I sat up straighter in my chair, hoping the heat in my cheeks and my no doubt dreamy look wouldn’t give me away. “Yeah, it would be great to travel again.”

“And sailing around the Greek Isles. Lucky you.” Paul turned his attention to their other colleague. “When are you going overseas again, Harold?”

While the men conversed, I thought about the amazing time I’d shared with businessman Eric Madison. It had been a whirlwind two months of mind-blowing sexual experiences with desserts in Australia and exotic locations around the world. But our affair had ended three weeks ago, after our last trystan orgy in a spa bath filled with jelly. Eric had promised to call the following week, keen to begin a new fantasy adventure. But he hadn’t called, and hurt swamped me.

“What do you think Charlotte?”

Paul again. It was nice he always included me in his conversations. “Sorry, what do I think about what?” I hadn’t meant to be distracted, usually I’m good at listening to people.

Harold’s piercing grey gaze met mine before he grinned, as though he could see inside my head and was enjoying the show. “It seems your mind is a million miles away today. We wanted to know what you thought of that Fluid Dynamics article.”

Oh yes, I’d read that. “The results are remarkable. It’s certainly caught the attention of the public eye.” I rose from my place at the lunch table. “Will you excuse me for a moment, gentlemen?” Tightness coiled in my chest. I needed fresh air.

Once outside the Physics building, I let out a deep breath. Eric Madison. Thinking about him had caused me to flee the suddenly claustrophobic lunchroom. The radio silence was probably his way of giving me the hint he’d changed his mind, no longer keen to meet up for the next sexual adventure he had in mind. Well, I got the hint.

Unless he’s been busy and hasn’t had time to see you the rational part of my brain reasoned. Don’t forget he runs a successful renewable energy company, not to mention his BDSM clubs. And there was that embezzlement drama.

Of course, but not even a quick text to say Hi. I’ve been crazy busy but will call you very soon? Maybe I was asking too much.

Hurt bloomed within me. I was taking it harder than usual because I’d fallen in love with him, despite knowing he wasn’t looking for a long-term relationship. His fear of commitment hung between us like an impenetrable metal sheet, yet I had no idea why. His heart remained a closed book. I could only assume he’d been betrayed by a woman he loved. Or was there another reason to explain his commitment phobia?

Frustrated and angry, I decided as hard as it would be, I’d have to close that chapter of my life, even though a part of me would always love him. I didn’t like these feelings. Experiencing sadness and disillusionment when my ex boyfriend broke my heart a couple of years ago had been enough. I needed to protect my heart and not fall deeper. I would send Eric a text tomorrow and leave it at that, getting the closure I needed. Hopefully. I wouldn’t send a text now, choosing to wait until I was in a better head space. I didn’t want to lash out and be a total bitch, out of respect for all the wonderful things he’d done for me, all those amazing experiences…not to mention the fact he’d saved my life…

***

Eric Madison

I switched off my computer after a fourteen hour day overseeing the production of a new type of solar panel, the first of its kind in Australia. It would revolutionize the energy industry. Rolling my head and shoulders, I rose to my feet, exhausted and in need of a good sleep. I hopped into my Audi and drove off into the busy Sydney traffic, thankful it was only a short trip to my apartment down by Circular Quay.

Twenty minutes later I slumped on the leather lounge with a beer in hand, switched on the TV and placed my feet on the coffee table, that same laid-back position I always adopted when not in my office. Yep. The bachelor life was great, no woman to tell me to get my shoes off the table.

I flipped channels. The Simpsons. Charlotte laughing at one of Homer’s funny reactions. Memories of her flooded my mind―times we’d watched the show together. I’d been comfortable with her from the moment we’d met, but falling in love, being in a committed relationship were things I avoided, thanks to my parents. Even though she’d agreed to casual, never asking for anything more, I suspected Charlotte’s feelings for me ran deeper than she admitted to. But there was no way I was getting caught up in a serious relationship.

As I got ready for bed, a text message sounded on my mobile phone. It was from Charlotte.

‘Hi Eric, hope you’re doing okay. I just wanted to say thanks for everything and I wish you all the best.’

I jerked up straight, my heart skipped a beat. This sounded like she was ending things with me. ‘Where’s this coming from?’ I texted back.

‘Now that we’re back in the real world and busy with our lives a new sexual adventure is probably not on the cards.

Okay, I didn’t know women that well, but was this veiled anger? ‘Do you want me to call you?’

She texted her reply. ‘No. There’s nothing to discuss. I just wanted to say thanks again for the amazing time we shared, and I wish you well. I hope you got that embezzlement drama sorted out and found the guy. All the best with everything. Bye.’

I surged to my feet, off-kilter, in unfamiliar emotional territory.

Frustrated, I slumped back down on the sofa and shoved a hand through my hair.  A big void opened in my chest. Loss swamped me like a tidal wave. I was the one who did the dumping. What do I do about this?

A part of me knew if I’d called her I would have been tempted to see her straight away. I’d be vulnerable, and my control over my emotions could slip. I was always planning on calling her though. But I’d needed more time to deal with the various work issues. Still…I twisted my lips together. I could have at least sent her a text, even a quick ‘hi, am really busy but will contact you as soon as I can’.

Now she was saying goodbye. Something I wasn’t expecting. Would it be better if I let her go?

Could I let her go?

Okay. I could do two things. Call her and try to get us back on the same page, but I’d have to keep my deeper emotions in check. Or I could accept her wishes and let her walk out of my life. But God, I didn’t want that. She was too special to me.

Don’t make a decision now. Sleep on it.

Just then my mobile rang. My best mate Martin who was always there for me.

“Hey, mate, you still up?” Martin never worried about what time he called.

“Yeah.”

“So I ended up asking Liz out, and she said yes.”

Liz. Martin’s personal trainer. “That’s great. She seems really nice.”

“Yeah she is. But I’d like you to meet her for more than a minute. Can you come to the pub Friday night?”

“Um … yeah … yeah I guess…”

“Are you okay? You sound flat.”

Rubbing my tired eyes, I pondered how I should reply, not wanting to dwell on my emotions at ten-thirty at night. “Nothing’s wrong. Sorry, just tired.” Well that was true. “But I’m happy for you, Martin. I’d love to meet her, too.” Even though Martin’s ex-fiancée, Priscilla, had broken his heart six months ago, he still believed in love. I meant it when I said I was happy for him.

“You’ve heard from her, haven’t you?” Martin asked bluntly.

I knew he was referring to Charlotte. Were guys meant to be this perceptive?

“And I bet she’s not happy you haven’t called her.”

Exactly what I’d thought. I couldn’t lie to my best mate. “Yeah I heard from her. She sent me a text saying ‘thanks, it was nice knowing you, have a good life’, words to that effect.”

“Yep, she’s pissed. You should have called her by now, like I said.”

“Man, I’m too buggered to get into this with you. I’ll talk to you later. Bye.” I disconnected the call and switched off my phone.

Lying awake in bed, I wasn’t able to get Charlotte out of my mind and heart despite the wall I’d built. But that didn’t mean anything. I simply missed her because I enjoyed her company. She’d become special to me, but past experiences prevented me from being in a committed relationship. I couldn’t open up to her. She wouldn’t get it. I only had to remember that night a year ago. I’d been drinking at the pub with my brother and his girlfriend and after a few beers told her why I’d sworn off love and serious relationships, thinking she’d understand. She’d been that type of person. Instead she’d given me this weird, puzzled look like I had rocks in my head, before laughing. ‘That’s a ridiculous reason. It makes no sense. You’ve got issues, man.’ If she could make me feel like a loser then any woman could, even Charlotte. No. I couldn’t give my heart to any woman. It was better to keep things fun and light with her and while I didn’t do commitment and love, I wanted to keep being around her. I loved her energy, and her personality. But I’d understand if she still wanted to walk out of my life because I couldn’t give her promises and roses and the happily ever after.

And with her text she’d pretty well done just that.

Amazon Kindle

Excerpt 1:

When the door to the office opened, Felicity wasn’t surprised to see Grace and her husband enter. And Blake and Nathan. She had no idea who the other man was, but she barely glanced at him. She turned to frown at Cole.

“Great. Now it’s five against one. You think intimidation will work? You should know me better than that.”

The unknown man pushed through the others to stand by her side. “Five against two.”

Felicity gaped at him. “Who the fuck are you?”

He held out his hand as if they were in the middle of a formal gathering. “Ryder Sinclair. And you?”

Felicity’s hand was moving before she could call it back. Manners her mom had instilled in her at an early age were hard to overcome. “Felicity Jones.”

The second Ryder gripped her hand, Felicity knew she was in trouble. His hand was warm, but not sweaty. He didn’t squeeze her hand too hard, but used just the right amount of pressure as he shook her hand. But more than that, the second he touched her, goose bumps raced down her arms. She had the feeling that if she threw herself into his arms, he’d keep her safe. She couldn’t take her eyes off his hazel ones. He looked familiar. She stiffened. Shit, had she met him before? “Have we met?” she blurted out as she tried to drop his hand.

Instead of looking offended or put out by her question, he merely shook his head and refused to let go. “No, we haven’t met . . . much to my disappointment. But we know each other now.”

Felicity felt a strong urge to burrow into his chest and let him take care of her. He was taller than she was by a couple of inches, the perfect height for her head to rest comfortably on his broad shoulder, but she straightened her spine and used her free hand to pry his fingers off her instead of throwing herself into his arms. She was an island. Couldn’t rely on anyone. Not if she wanted to keep them safe.

Excerpt 2:

It had been a week since he’d last kissed her, but he remembered every second of that first kiss as if it had just happened. He hadn’t thought anything could top it, but he was wrong. This kiss was the best he’d ever experienced. Ryder had a feeling that every touch of his lips to hers would top the one before it. He wanted a lifetime of her taste on his lips.

Her head tilted, giving him more room, and he didn’t hesitate to take advantage. His tongue speared through her lips, tangling with hers, memorizing her feel and taste. One hand moved to her nape to hold her against him, and the other trailed down her body and came to rest on her breast, right over her heart. He didn’t grope her, merely wanted to feel the beat of her heart under his hand.

They kissed for several minutes. Neither willing to be the first to pull away. Felicity participated in the kiss the same way she did everything else . . . with all she had. She didn’t meekly sit there and let him kiss her—her tongue pushed against his and learned every inch of his mouth. When he growled, she moaned right back. She took what she wanted.

And it was hot as hell.

Excerpt 1

“What is up with the two of you?” Alexis asked quietly two hours later.

Felicity looked down at the baby in her arms so she didn’t have to look at Alexis and shrugged. “What do you mean?”

“Don’t play dumb, girl. You and Ryder have been stealing glances at each other all afternoon.

“It’s complicated,” Felicity told her.

“It’s really not,” Alexis argued.

“It is. Besides, I haven’t known him that long.”

“I knew the first time I saw Blake that he was the man for me,” Alexis said without a trace of self-consciousness.

Felicity gaped at her. “You did?”

“Yup. And he only saw me as an annoying younger chick who he had to work with.”

“There’s no way. He loves you.”

“He does,” Alexis agreed. “Now. But when he first met me, he thought I was a rich spoiled brat who was fucking around and only wanted to work at Ace Security for some reason he didn’t know or understand.”

“Wow. What changed?”

Alexis shrugged. “I guess he got to know me. Saw how much I enjoyed what I did. That I wasn’t going to up and quit.” She flipped her light-brown hair behind her shoulder and smirked. “Then he took a look at all this”—she indicated her curvy body with a hand—“and couldn’t resist.”

Both women chuckled.

“It’s different with me and Ryder. I think he’s just . . .” Felicity’s voice trailed off. She didn’t know what Ryder was. “He’s one of those guys who wants to make sure everyone is safe. He doesn’t like injustice.”

Excerpt 2

Ryder ran a hand through his hair, and he looked away from her for the first time. Felicity had been confused and nervous when she’d woken up, but it was nothing compared to how she was feeling now. A pit formed in her belly, and she felt her hands begin to shake. “What happened?” she asked in a whisper.

Ryder looked back at her then, and she felt Blake’s hand press into her calf. Felicity steeled herself.

“Nate is gone.”

Felicity blinked. “What?”

“Nate. Joseph drugged you, then entered your apartment and took Nate. We know it was him because the external cameras showed him clearly. Fucker even made a point to look up, straight into the lens, and smirk as he was leaving.”

“But you found him, right?”

Ryder merely shook his head.

Felicity stared at him for a moment, then her gaze swung to Blake. “Joseph has called, though, hasn’t he? To tell you how much money he wants?”

She felt Ryder’s finger on her chin as he gently forced her to look at him. “Joseph hasn’t called, love. Nate’s been gone for twenty hours. We don’t know where he is and have no leads.”

Felicity blinked. Then promptly began to hyperventilate. This was her worst fear come to life. Someone else she loved had been hurt because of her. Grace and Logan had to be devastated. God, the twins had been put under her care, and she’d failed them. Utterly. Tears sprang to her eyes, and there was no way she could hold them back. Not hiding them or even trying to wipe them away, Felicity looked up at Ryder helplessly.

Club life isn’t what Tiffany imagined it to be, and she soon realizes that her hot new man has a long and wild history that may be more than she bargained for. Between the women and rumors of violence, she finds herself caught between a psychotic ex bent on her destruction and the man who isn’t what she thought him to be. When things quickly begin to unravel, Tiffany doesn’t know who to trust or where to turn.

SYNOPSIS:

Tiffany

Leading a nomadic life, I’ve been on the run from my rich ex-husband for years. I’ve learned every trick in the book, staying one step ahead of him and his trackers. He’s taken everything from me, and despite everything, I’ve managed to carve out a life. But he’s getting close again. It’s time to hit the road, to start over…but it looks like the universe has other plans.

Ryder

As Sargent at Arms, stalking the crazy man trying to kill my MC brothers is part of my job description. Protecting the club is what I live for. Unfortunately, today I’m the loser in our never ending game of cat and mouse. The last thing I remember before waking up in the emergency room is staring up at the sky while bleeding out onto the cold, hard pavement. Then the pretty nurse walks in and turns my world sideways, and those soft hands know just how to handle a big, angry biker like me. With a psycho on my tail, the stakes couldn’t be higher. I know I should walk away, but self-preservation has never been much of a strong suit. As my enemy closes in, I’ve got no gun, three bullet holes, and absolutely zero patience left. The question is, who will be the one to sign my death warrant—the crazy-ass biker who’s gunning for me…or the sexy-as-sin nurse I’ve got a hard-on for?

One Last Time
by Corinne Michaels

Release Date: February 26th, 2018
Genre: Contemporary Romance

OLT_FrontCover

From New York Times bestselling author, Corinne Michaels, comes a new heartwarming standalone romance.

I’m getting really good at cutting my losses.

First, the husband. Divorcing him was the best decision I ever made. But between single-parenting and job-hunting, I can’t catch my breath. When a celebrity blogging position falls into my lap, I’m determined to succeed.

That is, until I get my first assignment and actually see Noah Frazier for the first time . . . practically naked and dripping wet. My heart races and I forget how to form complete sentences. His chiseled abs, irresistible smirk, and crystal blue eyes are too perfect to be real. So, what do I do? Get drunk and humiliate myself, of course.

I’m ready to forget the awkward night, yet Noah has no intention of allowing me to move on. Instead, he arranges for me to write a feature on him, ensuring a lot more time together. One embarrassing moment after another, one kiss after another, and before I can stop myself, I realize—I’m falling in love with him.

But when the unthinkable happens, can I even blame him for cutting his losses?

What I wouldn’t give for just one last time . . .

Excerpt:

Before I can make a move either way, the glass door slides open and Noah walks through the threshold.

My legs start to quiver as his eyes meet mine. All I can think about is how I’d like to climb him like a tree and shake his coconuts. I thought he was hot in the photo, then he was better through the window, but up close, he’s otherworldly.

“Hi.” Noah’s throaty voice floats around me. “You must be Kristin.”

Instead of speaking, I stand here with my mouth hanging open. Some small sounds that could be words escape, but they aren’t coherent.

Kill me now.

“Noah, this is my best friend, Kristin. Who we told you about.” Heather elbows me.

“Yes. Me. Hi. Kristin. I. You. Hi.”

Smooth. Someone should video this because I’m sure it’s highly entertaining.

“Right.” Noah flashes a blinding smile. “I hear you’re a reporter?”

Okay, Kristin, you have to speak in more than one-word increments or grunting noises.

I grab Heather’s glass she just poured and hope it’ll act as a talisman. “Yes, for a small blog, but I’m that. A reporter. For a blog. I write.”

And a bumbling idiot.

Noah’s green eyes are filled with humor. He moves a little closer and places his hand on top of mine. “Eli filled me in a little. I’m happy I came.”

I’m pretty sure I just came. At least we’re all coming.

“Me, too.”

His lips turn up as his eyes rake my body. “See you out there.” He winks and walks back out.

My ovaries have officially disintegrated.

I turn back to Heather, who bursts out into a fit of laughter. “Oh, that was epic. You all said I was starstruck when I met Eli? You should’ve seen that!” Heather continues to laugh at my expense. “Yes. Me. Um. Blog. Er—” She mocks.

“Shut up.” I laugh—because, really, what else can I do—and bump her hip before moving around the bar and grabbing a glass. “Now, pour me a shot before I drink straight from the bottle.”

There’s only one way to get through tonight.

Alcohol.

Lots of Alcohol.

I have to make the pain stop.

I want to feel alive, and I do when I’m drinking and partying the way I should have when I was a teen. Instead, back then, I was preparing to become the Whiskey Princess, a role assigned to me from birth.

A lady never drinks to the point of blacking out, nor does she go home with men she meets in bars. But I went home with him…Jackson.

He was more than just a one-night stand, but I learned that a wee bit late and he was gone. Or so I thought.

For when I return home, Jackson is there, and he finds out very quickly who I am.

Problem is, I’m not sure that I’ve ever known who I really am.

***

I can tell by looking into her blue depths that she’s absolute trouble, but I have to have her. It’s only for one night. Some fun, and I’ll be on my way. My time here is done, and I’m ready to move on to my next adventure.

What I don’t realize at the time is that she is my next adventure.

Lena excites me. She blows my mind. And her brogue? It has me in knots. I don’t even care about the rumors that surround her.

She’s hurting. I want to help her, but then my time is up.

Can I leave her?

I have to leave. I have no choice.

But I love her.

Whiskey Rebellion – Teaser

“I don’t understand why yer so upset. It’s no big deal!”

Ma’s eyes widened as much as they could. “Lena, you were in the pub after six! Are ya mad?”

I roll my eyes. “I don’t see why it’s such a big deal. I wasn’t doing anything but having a drink with a friend.”

“A friend? Ya kissed him! A lady doesn’t find herself in a pub after six and then kiss a man in front of a full room.”

I let my head fall back, a piece of bacon hanging from my lips. I don’t know what I expected. I knew damn well it would get back to her somehow.

“Declan never did such a thing,” she exclaims.

“Ah, he did, but since he has a cock between his legs, it didn’t matter,” I say, sitting up, ignoring Declan’s death glare. “He was making out with Amberlyn all the time in the pub. No one batted a wee eye though, ’cause he’s the Whiskey Prince. Boys will be boys!”

Amberlyn’s cheeks redden as she glares over at me. “Thanks, Lena.”

“Anytime,” I answer with a wink as I reach for my OJ. “It really isn’t a big deal.”

“But it is.” It’s my da this time, his eyes trained on me as his lips press into a line. “You know what is expected of you. It’s against the rules.”

“For goodness’ sake, it’s not the sixties. Fuck the rules, they’re mad as hell!”

“Lena!”

“Ma, for real. I don’t care. I’ll do everything ya want. Teas, ceremonies, and whatever else ya come at me with. But if I want to kiss a guy in a pub after six, I’m going to.”

“It isn’t right!”

I happen to think it was very right. A small little grin pulls at my lips as I think of Jackson. The way his hand came to rest against my forearm, the feel of his jaw in my hand, the tickle of his beard under my lips. The best part was the stunned look on his handsome face. It was all so perfect.

“What is it about that damn pub?” Ma looks around at all of us. “It’s just a pub, yet both my children seem drawn to the place.”

Declan shrugs, looking over at Amberlyn, a grin on his lips as he covers her hand. “I fell in love there.”

Amberlyn’s face warms a bit more as she laces her fingers with his. “We both did.”

“I go ’cause Fiona is hot,” I announce, and I mean it as a joke to calm Ma down, but it only makes her louder.

“So now yer tell me yer eating carpet. I wouldn’t be surprised!”

Declan balks at that while Amberlyn’s jaw drops. Looking to me, Declan asks, “Did she just ask if yer into girls?”

“I think she did,” I say, shaking my head. “But don’t worry, Ma, I haven’t played for that team yet.”

“Yet!” she roars, and I don’t miss the way Declan is holding back his laughter. Even he sees this is just pathetic. I mean, I get it. It’s the way I was raised, but things change. People change. I’ve changed. Completely. And it irritates me that she doesn’t realize that.

“Love, wasn’t she kissing a man in the pub?”

Ma throws her hands up at Da. “Yeah, which is another thing! Are ya mad? A bartender—”

“I won’t speak of him,” I say simply, my gaze cutting to hers. “Leave him out of this.”

I refuse to allow her to talk bad about Jackson. She’d call him everything but what he truly is, which is amazing. She doesn’t know how caring and sweet he is. How, when he looks at me, I get all gooey inside. She can’t take that from me. I won’t allow it.

About the Author:Author Toni Aleo

My name is Toni Aleo and I’m a total dork.
I am a wife, mother of two and a bulldog, and also a hopeless romantic.
I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play!
When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughter’s dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, scrapbooking, and reading the latest romance novel.
I have a slight Disney and Harry Potter obsession, I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, I might have been a Disney Princess in a past life… probably Belle.
… and did I mention I love hockey?

“Why haven’t we had sex?”When Jesse Gunn one of the biggest stars of World Class Wrestling voiced that million dollar question, yet again, I was stunned. After countless times of turning him down, I thought eventually he’d give up.

Unexpectedly thrown together for a work project, my mind went to places I’d never allowed. Dirty places where sweaty, naked bodies take center ring and names are rasped out in the heat of the moment.

Now, my time is spent wondering if a certain part of him could possibly live up to his last name, distracting me from my full time job – as his boss.

Can I continue to keep things professional or will I give in and tussle?
