About COWBOY RESURRECTION

Marketing hotshot Monica Kaur has put her big-city life on hold to help bail out her brother’s failing business. Now she’s got three months to plan and promote a rodeo, the first her tiny hometown has ever seen.

To ensure the rodeo’s success, Monica enlists a local hero, a rancher’s son who’s made a name for himself on the bull-riding circuit. Problem? She can’t stop daydreaming about the cocky bastard—and all the things she longs to do to him out behind the chutes.

Professional bullfighter Dean MacKinnon is home helping his family while his father fights cancer. Haunted by bad memories, jaded by love, Dean finds escape in a no-strings-attached go-round with brainy, sexy Monica, whose close-knit Sikh-American family would sooner run him out of town than see her with a notorious rodeo Romeo.

In private, Monica and Dean play as hard as they work. But as the rodeo draws near, that clean break they promised each other is getting more and more hung up in the rigging.

Here is an exclusive excerpt from COWBOY RESURRECTION:

“So,” he whispered against her lips. “What do you want?”

“I don’t know.” Her voice was barely audible, a ghost of air carried away by the wind.

“I think you know.” He kissed her again, and before she knew what was happening, he’d pulled her down to the ground with him. The dry grass and soft blanket of flowers crinkled like hot paper beneath them. He sat down and she straddled him, her knees crushing petals that looked like orange fire in the desert.

Dean took off his hat, placed it on the ground, and traced a trail of hot kisses down the side of her neck. Pleasure ran a circuit through her body, firing her nerve endings as her lust rose to high tide.

She dug her hands through his dark hair. It was silky, long enough to curl. When he began to lay hot, open-mouthed kisses on her throat, she grabbed his hair in her fingers and tugged at it gently. A low moan rumbled in his chest.

His lips found hers again. They quickly established a rhythm of breath and tongues that pulled all consciousness from her brain. She was flying, far too high on Dean to realize she was riding him, rubbing herself against the hardening bulge in his jeans.

He broke their kiss and rested his forehead against hers. He let go of her waist and dragged his fingers through her hair, clasping it and gently pulling it back until her lips parted with a gasp.

“Tell me what you want.” His deep voice sent shivers up her spine.

She was silent, paralyzed with pleasure.

“Tell me what you want, Monica,” he said again. His firm tone made her insides clench. Already she could feel how wet she was, how ready.

“You need it. Same as I do.” He touched her face and skimmed his fingertips down her throat. “Don’t you?”

“I do.” She was still. “But no one can know about this.”

“I understand.”

“Dean, I’m serious. Not a soul. Promise me.”

He nodded. “I promise.”

About COWBOY VALENTINE:

Forget chocolate and flowers. This homegrown honey is all the sweetness he craves.

Small-town life is nothing but a waiting room for eighteen-year-old honor student Corazón Gomez. Work and school leave little time for love, but with a full-ride Ivy League scholarship and a one-way ticket out of the boondocks, who needs it?
The answer appears on Valentine’s Day when her old cowboy crush ambles into the ice cream parlor where she works, inviting her to go on a late-night ride in his truck. For the first time she wavers between staying on the straight and narrow, and going off-road with the handsome heartbreaker.
After four years working on ranches all over the country, Caleb MacKinnon is back on the family farm helping out his mom and brothers while his father fights cancer. The one bright spot: smart, funny, and wickedly sexy Cora.
From the start, they both know this blazing-hot love affair can’t last. But when autumn comes and Cora has to leave for the East Coast, Caleb must find a solution to keep himself—and his heart—from falling apart.

Warning: Contains hard, cherry-poppin’ sex in a pickup truck and a cowboy charmer who talks dirty in two languages.

Living in Sin

Jace Jamison is every woman’s fantasy. He’s everything and anything you want him to be. He’s a highly paid escort.

Adrienne Miller works as an event planner, constantly working at numerous events, and always seeing a man she can only describe as a god-like creature. He’s devastatingly handsome, tall, and has beautiful blue eyes, but he’s always with a different woman.

After a few chance encounters with Jace, Adrienne’s best friend convinces her to just get some good sex out of him and not worry about who she’s seen him with.

What happens when she finds out that he isn’t dating these women because he wants to, but because he’s paid to? Will living in sin cost him what he never knew he wanted?

Unforgivable Sin

In book two of The Escort Series, Troy Thompson and Emilie Watson are finally admitting their feelings and thinking about giving a relationship a try. What happens, though, when being an escort in Sin City isn’t the only problem to worry about when starting a new relationship?

Someone from Troy’s past is back. Carla was the love of his life, his ex-fiancée, and the woman who committed what most consider an unforgivable sin. A sin that forced him to believe he’d never love or trust another woman again.

Is Carla back to heal old wounds and get closure, or is she back to do whatever’s necessary to be the only woman in Troy’s life, leaving Emilie to wonder if her and Troy’s connection is strong enough to withstand the return of his past?

Sins & Mistrust

Marc Edwards is a male escort in Sin City. He’s used to catering to his clients every fantasy, and also used to keeping parts of himself from the people closest to him.

He gains a client who’s unlike any other client he’s had. Nathalia LaBelle actually tries to get to know non-escort Marc. She wants to find out what it is he fantasizes about, and she’s not bothered by the nature of his job.

Has Marc found someone to open up to? Will Nathalia be able to handle what he desires? What he craves?

But what happens when Lincoln Cash, a man who has his own special relationship with Nathalia, comes into the picture with his own desires, rules, and sinful requests? Will they be able to get on the same page, or will mistrust run rampant and ruin everybody’s chances at getting what they want?

Excerpt

Lincoln
Around four-thirty, about three hours after Marc left, I give him a call in his room. As much as he’s driving me fucking crazy, he’s also driving me crazy in a completely different way. I need to see if he still wants to go out tonight. I’ve talked to Thalia through sporadic text messages, and she seems to think she’ll be getting off later than she wanted to.
“Hello?” Marc’s voice filters through the phone.
“Marc, it’s Lincoln.”
“Hey, what’s up?”
“My fucking cock still,” I laugh.
His laughter joins mine. “That’s too bad.”
“Mmhmm. Anyway, I was just wondering if you wanted to go out tonight.”
“What do you have in mind?”
“I know a couple of bars around here.”
“Okay. Just let me know when to meet you downstairs. Nathalia won’t be off work until way later.”
“I know. She said she may be able to meet us later.”
“Well, great. When should I meet you in the lobby?”
“How does seven sound?”

“Sounds good.”
“Okay, see you then.”
“Yep. Bye, Lincoln.”
“Bye, Marc.”
Goddammit. What is about the way he says my name
that drives me fucking crazy? Seven o’clock won’t come soon enough.
I decide to text Nathalia once more.

Me: Hey, can you talk?

Thalia: Yeah, give me a minute.

A few minutes later my phone rings. “Hey,” I answer.
“Hey, what’s going on?”
“I didn’t interrupt anything important, did I?”
“No. I’m just making calls right now. I have to back to the conference room later. So, what’s going on? Tell me how your date with Marc went.”
The glee in her tone lets me know she’s already talked
to Marc.
“It wasn’t a date, for one. For two, Marc isn’t very nice.”
She bursts into laughter. “Marc is one of the nicest
guys I’ve met. What are you talking about?”
“He fucks my mind up!”
“How so?” she asks, still giggling.
“I know he wants me. He knows I want him. You know I can’t keep that shit to myself. So, when he decides to tease me and then not allow me to touch him or kiss him, it fucks me up.”
“I hear you teased him first. In the elevator?”
“That was nothing,” I scoff.
“All you have to do is say please. Maybe even a pretty please,” she says, snickering.
“I’m glad you find this amusing. My cock does not.”
“Aww. Your poor little cock.”
“My cock is anything but little.”
“Well, I wouldn’t know.”
“You know I’ll show you.”
“Yeah, but I only want to see if I can do something with it.”
“Exactly!” I exclaim. “Yet, Marc pulls his out in front
of me and I’m only allowed to look.”
“I’ve done plenty with his cock, but then again, I’m not opposed to begging.”
“You’re no help, you know that?”
“I can help you with your not-so-little problem,” she breathes huskily into the phone.
“Oh yeah?”
“Mmhhmm.”
“What are you going to do?”
“Anything you want me to.”
“I want you to play with yourself.”
“Right now?” she squeaks.
“Yes, right now. I want you to turn yourself on, but don’t come.”
“How does this help you?”
“Because you’ll feel the same way I do right now, and then you’ll help me convince Marc to give us both what we want. You can have his dick in your mouth while I eat your pussy until you come in my mouth. After that you can watch as I take Marc deep into my mouth.”
I hear her moan on the other end, and I can tell she’s
getting turned on just thinking about it.
“Are you touching yourself yet, Thalia?”

“Mmm, yes. Keep talking.”
“While I suck Marc’s thick cock into my mouth, you can straddle his face while he fucks you with his tongue. Once he’s brought you to the cusp of orgasm, he’ll lay you down and slide his dick into your dripping wet pussy. Once he’s made you come, we’ll switch positions again but this time you’ll watch as I lick Marc’s ass, getting him ready to feel me slide inside. Do you like that, Thalia?” I ask in a husky tone, getting turned on myself.
“Yes, Lincoln. I love it. I want to watch you two.
Mmm.”
“How wet are you?”
“So wet, Lincoln. I’m so wet.”
“Stop touching yourself.”
“Mmm,” she moans.
“Nathalia, stop!” I demand.
“Fuck, Linc. I’m so turned on right now.”
“I know. Welcome to the club. Will you help me tonight?”
“Yes,” she pants.
“Good girl. I’ll talk to you later. Marc and I will be out tonight, but you meet up with us when you can. Just text me and I’ll tell you where to go.”
“Okay. Fuck. I have to go freshen up. Thanks.”
“You’re welcome,” I say with a grin.

At seven o’clock, I’m in the lobby waiting for Marc to show up. I’ve put on a pair of navy-colored slacks, a light blue button up shirt with a navy blue blazer over it. A few minutes later as I’m sitting in one of the chairs, reading a magazine, I glance up and catch sight of Marc coming around the corner. He looks fantastic.

He’s wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt that’s snug around his muscles, and a grayish-blue vest, left open. His hair looks soft, like he just ran his hand through it and it stayed perfectly in place.
“Hey. Sorry if I kept you waiting.”
“No, it’s okay. I haven’t been here long.”
Standing up, I drop the magazine to the table and then we both head for the front doors.
“So, where we going?” he asks.
“To this place a couple blocks away. I figure we can take one of these cabs that’s out here.”
“Okay.”
The short cab ride is once again filled with this raw, sexual energy. We clearly can’t be alone in small places.
The cab pulls up in front of the lounge, the place encased in black brick, giving off an old-timey feel. The windows are crystal clear and you can see the patrons milling about on the inside. Some sitting to eat, others standing around with drinks in their hands.
“This looks nice,” Marc notes.
“Yeah, I figured we could eat here as well.”
Once inside, we find a small table in the corner and as soon as we sit down, a waitress is there ready to take our order.
“Evening, gentlemen. Can I get anything for you?”
Her dark brown eyes shift back and forth between Marc and myself, and the smile never leaves her face.
“I’ll take a Crown and Coke,” Marc answers with a smile.
“And I’ll have your best whiskey, neat, with some water, please.” I look to Marc. “Did you want some food? Seafood sampler or just some chips?”
“Let’s go with the sampler,” he says, speaking to the waitress.
“Okay, great. I’ll be back soon,” she chirps before turning and walking away, her curvaceous hips swaying back and forth.
Marc must have caught me watching her walk away. “See something you like?” he asks with a grin.
I look over the bulging muscles in his arms, and then back to his soft, perfect lips, and finally to his baby blue eyes. “Yes, I do.”
He lifts a single brow but doesn’t retort, to my disappointment. I decide to try to bait him.
“Did you think about me earlier today? You know, after you left me with a raging hard-on?”
“I may have thought about you, but not in the way you’re thinking.”
“And what way am I thinking?”
“You’re thinking I went back to the room and jacked off while thinking about you. I didn’t.”
“Because you’re so sure you’re going to get off with Thalia tonight?”
“Yes, I’m quite sure, actually,” he responds with a smirk.
“I wouldn’t be so sure if I were you.”
“Why’s that?” he asks, his brows pinching together.
“She wants you and me to be together as much as I do. As much as you do, even though you won’t admit it.
She wants to watch,” I say, my voice throaty and deep.
“Here we are,” the waitress announces, bringing us our order and killing the mood. “You guys okay over here?” she asks politely.
“Yes, I think we’re good for now. Thank you,” I say with a smile.
When she leaves, I pin my eyes on Marc and wait to see if he’s going to say anything in response to what I said.
A devious smile plays on his lips.
“You two can’t plot against me. I already know I can get Nathalia to give in to me. She won’t last long with this little plan you think you have. If I wanted to fuck her across this table, she’d let me, and you’d be the one left watching.”
“Why are you denying yourself the pleasure of being with me?” I ask with a cocky grin.
“It’s not about denying myself anything. It’s now about getting you to do something you say you don’t do. I’m confident I can get you to ask me for whatever it is you want, and now I have to follow that through. It’s not like I’m asking you to get on your hands and knees and beg.” He pauses and leans forward. “Unless you want to be on your knees.”
“So, now I’m denying us both, is that it?”
“Exactly,” he says, and then takes a drink. Leaning in closer to me he says, “Lincoln, do you want my cock in your mouth?” I lean forward, our faces getting closer. “Hmm?” he asks.
“Yes.” My voice comes out in a whisper.
His hand touches my knee under the table and goes up my thigh. “Do you want my mouth all over you?”
I close my eyes briefly as his fingers spread out over my thigh. My cock grows harder in my pants. When I open my eyes, his blue eyes look like they’ve darkened, and I know he’s turned on as well.
“I want it all, Marc.”
“Ask me for it,” he demands in a voice thick with lust.
“Sorry to interrupt,” the waitress voice breaks through, causing us to pull apart.
She looks embarrassed, her cheeks flushed red. “I’m sorry,” she repeats. “I just wanted to see if you needed a refill or anything.”
“We’re fine, thank you,” Marc replies politely, plastering a charming fucking smile on his face. Damn me for being jealous of the woman on the receiving side of it.
“You sure?” she asks with a smile.
“Yes, thank you, sweetheart,” Marc answers with a wink.
“Well, aren’t you the flirt?” I declare as soon as she’s out of ear shot.
“Jealous?” he asks with a lopsided grin.
I narrow my eyes at him and then go back to my food. He has no idea how close I came to asking him to give me everything he was saying to me. That perky waitress ruined it when she showed up. We eat in silence and then the waitress comes back to take the food and plates away. She doesn’t forget to smile and flirt with Marc while here. I don’t know why I’m feeling so pissed about that.
“How would Thalia feel if she knew you were flirting with the waitress tonight?”
“I think she would be fine with it. I’m just being polite, something you clearly aren’t good at doing.” He takes a drink and then looks right back at me. “I think you’re worried that the waitress probably has a better chance of sleeping with me tonight than you do.”
I huff. “You wouldn’t do that.”
He just shrugs. I know he’s just trying to fuck with my head, but dammit if it’s not working.
“You know the way to keep me here with you,” he says before catching the eye of the waitress and giving her another smile and wink. She ducks her head with a smile and heads to the bar. “I’ll be back.”
I watch him as he saunters towards the bar…and the waitress. I growl and run my hand through my hair as I watch him approach her. Taking a huge swallow of my whiskey, I adjust my body to get a better view of them.
She looks surprised to see him, and then he must say something, because she begins to laugh. Her hand lands on his shoulder and Marc looks back at me and winks. Turning his attention back to the waitress, he pulls his phone out and they both look down at it. Is he getting her number?
The waitress looks back at me, no smile visible on her face. She and Marc talk some more, and then they take a picture together with his phone. What the fuck is this? He stays facing me, but he’s messing with his phone and not noticing my angry demeanor. Maybe it’s jealous demeanor. Same thing.
He leans in and kisses her cheek before returning to the table.
“What the fuck was that?” I demand.
“What?” he feigns confusion.
“You know what I’m talking about. The laughing, flirting, exchanging numbers, and taking pictures. What’s that about? Are you seriously thinking of picking up a woman while you’re staying with another?” My body vibrates with anger.
“You can stop it from happening,” he says. “If you really want to.”
“I’m too pissed to want to ask you for anything,” I growl.
“Well, fine.”
He stands up and gestures to the waitress, who starts walking towards us. Marc meets her halfway, gives her money for our drinks and food and then whispers something in her ear. She giggles and looks at me briefly.
“Have a good night!” she calls to him.
I storm out into the night air and Marc is right behind me. Instead of standing in front of the building, waiting for a cab, he starts walking down the street.
“Hey! Where are you going?” I yell out.
He doesn’t answer. I quicken my pace and catch up to him, but he doesn’t even bother looking at me.
“I said, where are you going?”
“I’m going back to my room,” he grumbles. “I don’t need you to walk with me. I’m a big boy.”
This man is so frustrating!
“Are you going to let Thalia know that she doesn’t need to meet us anymore, or will you be too busy with the waitress?”
Marc turns quickly and faces me. His face is tense and angry. What the fuck does he have to be angry about? He looks around and then pulls me by my lapels to this dark alcove in a building that isn’t open. Pushing me up against the brick wall, he puts his face inches from mine.
“I’m not fucking the waitress. Nathalia knows where I am, and where I will be tonight. So, why don’t you stop acting like some sort of jealous boyfriend? You and Nathalia aren’t together, and never have been. You aren’t with me, and never will be. It shouldn’t matter to you who I am or am not planning on fucking tonight. It’s not going to be you.”
I don’t know if it’s his anger, his passion, the look in his eyes, or the way he pushed me against the wall, but my dick hardens and I want him more now than I think I ever have. A plan comes to me.
“You’re both right and wrong,” I say.
His brows furrow, and he looks even more annoyed. “What the fuck are you talking about?” he demands.
“You’re right, you won’t be fucking the waitress tonight, but you’re wrong about not fucking me. You will be,” I say as I pull his lower half into my own.
“No. I won’t,” he says through gritted teeth.
“You will,” I say with a smirk. “Marc,” I breathe, bringing our mouths closer together. “Kiss me.”
Our lips are a hair’s breadth away. I can tell he’s struggling with himself, but I choose to make it easier for him. I can’t do this anymore. I need him. I want him, and at this point I’ll do whatever’s necessary to make sure it happens.
“Please,” I pant out, my lips brushing against his as I speak the one word he’s been waiting to hear.
Without warning his mouth crushes against mine. His tongue parts my lips and delves deep into my mouth. Nothing about this kiss is soft and sweet, and I’m glad it’s not. I’m finding that I prefer him angry, forceful, and rough. He pins me to the wall with his hips, both of our dicks growing in length and thickness as they’re pushed together. My fingers run through his soft hair and pull. A hiss escapes his mouth and then his hand is on the side of my face, his fingers on the back of my head, and his thumb lying across my jawline. He pulls me closer to his mouth, and then sucks my bottom lip into his mouth and bites down.
A growl is ripped from my throat as I push back and have him up against the other side of the alcove. I
barricade him between my arms, but his hand comes up and pulls my hair hard enough to expose my neck to him. His tongue licks my heated flesh from my Adam’s apple to my ear. He gives me another small bite below my lobe, and it sends chills down my body.
Our mouths connect again, and I suck his tongue into my mouth, eliciting a groan from his throat. He pulls back, but just as quickly sticks his tongue back into my mouth, massaging my tongue with his. Marc places both hands on the sides of my face, making sure there’s no way I can get away from him. My hands go to his back, feeling every muscled ridge, and I pull him closer to my body.
We’re a mass of grunts, groans, and hisses. Our hands are never off of each other. We bite, suck, and lick each other’s necks, lips, and tongues. Anywhere Marc touches me sets me on fire. My cock throbs in my pants, ready to be freed.
This kiss tops any kiss I’ve ever had. I know without a doubt that messing with this man is going to ruin me. I’ve never anticipated being ruined until now.
He forces himself away from me and stares deep in my eyes.
“Tomorrow.”
There’s never been so much promise, possibilities, and hunger put into one word.
He turns on his heel and leaves.

One

After another hour of dancing and another trip to the bar, I asked Evie, “Are you ready to go soon? It’s getting late and my feet are killing me.”

“Let’s head back out one more time. I feel like this time on the dance floor will bring me the man I’m looking for.” Evie gave me a sad puppy dog look and began pulling me back to the floor.

I could feel my buzz fading, revealing the exhaustion I felt down to my bones, but I was here for Evie and her quest. So I obediently followed her back to the dance floor.

About ten minutes into dancing, a ridiculously hot guy came up to dance with Evie. He whispered in her ear and she made a drinking motion to me. I gave her a thumbs up and she was off with a quick glance back, mouthing, “Fuck yeah.”

I was about to head to the bar as well to get a drink when one of my favorite dancing songs came on. I fell into a rhythm, finding my zone. I hoped I looked like a high-class stripper, but I didn’t care too much because I was feeling the music, feeling powerful, sexy. I made a sultry turn and opened my eyes, immediately finding Mr. Sex Eyes. I paused for a minute in shock until he raised an eyebrow as if he was asking, What are you waiting for?

The powerful rush of sexiness heightened, adding to my excitement causing a tightness in my chest and a lightheaded feeling. I closed my eyes and began to dance. I no longer danced just for myself, I could tell. I could feel his eyes on me caressing my skin, or at least I imagined they were. Let’s be honest, he could have moved away while my eyes were closed, but I liked the illusion that I was dancing for someone. That they were watching me. Hmm, maybe I had a bit of an exhibitionist streak in me.

One song turned into two and two into three. I never looked back over for fear that he would be gone. I didn’t want to lose this feeling. My breathing came fast, not only from the dancing, but from the excitement. I could feel myself getting turned on, experiencing a rush I didn’t ever want to end.

I swayed my hips low and rose back up when a large hand softly squeezed my waist as another pushed my hair over my right shoulder.

“I almost didn’t come over because you looked like you were enjoying yourself so much, but after such a show, how could I resist?” His deep voice vibrated through me, so close I could feel his lips brush against my ear.

I wasn’t going to look, but a part of me had to check if it was him and not some random man coming up to me. I slowed down a bit and turned my head, looking at him out of the corner of my eye. Hot damn, up close he was even better than expected. The darkness made it hard to confirm but I thought his eyes were blue. His lips had that same smirk as earlier.

“By all means, don’t let me stop you. I just want to participate now.” He placed his other hand on my hip and pulled me back so I was right up against him. Instantly I could feel how much he enjoyed my show. I couldn’t help myself, I leaned back and subtly rubbed myself against him. I wasn’t sure what I was trying to communicate with that move, but I became unstoppable at that point. “Come on, let’s play. Dance for me, beautiful.”

Two

The place filled up fast and the hours flew by. I swear if I didn’t love science so much I could have been a bartender. It was fun meeting people from all walks of life. Even though a few of them could be really weird and creepy, the majority were interesting. I saw two new customers fill a spot on my side of the bar and I made my way down to take their order. I stopped a little short when I noticed Detective Shane Daniels and the newbie cop that Jack had told me about. Instantly, I was alert and a little nervous around the guy, considering what Jack told me a couple weeks ago. I shook off my hesitation and reminded myself not to be a big scaredy cat. It’s not like anything bad would happen to me while I served them.

“Hey, guys. What can I get you to drink?” I didn’t openly greet Shane because I didn’t know if he wanted me to act like I knew him. Last time we talked he wanted me to keep everything hush-hush. I decided to play it safe than assume the wrong thing.

They both turned to look at me and instantly my nerves rose again. The younger cop’s pale green eyes looked me up and down, making sure to take extra time to stare at my chest. By the time he reached my eyes his held disgusting interest paired with a creepy-ass smile. He might have been trying to be flirtatious but instead came off as a creeper.

I didn’t return his smile.

I might have even scowled.

I crossed my arms and turned to look at Shane. Recognition crossed his features and while he didn’t smile, his face softened from the frown. “Hey, Luella. I didn’t know you worked here.”

“I don’t usually. This is my brother’s bar and I work it every Christmas.”

“You know her, Detective?” Creeper Cop asked. His tone implied how impressed he would be if Shane knew me. Ugh! What an ass.

“Not really. This is Luella, Jack’s girlfriend. Luella, this is Aimes Bennet.”

“Nice to meet you, sweetheart.” Aimes reached his hand out to shake mine and I reached to grab glasses for their drinks. No way in hell would I touch him willingly. Whether Jack’s gut was right or not, I did not like the vibes this guy put off. I didn’t miss the slight tension that tightened his shoulders at the mention of Jack’s name.

I nodded my head and asked again what they wanted to drink. To be a bitch I asked for Creeper Cop’s ID. In all fairness, he looked about twelve. I thought I even saw Shane’s shoulders shake with a suppressed laugh. I got their drinks and then moved down the bar to serve other customers. I rarely took my eyes off Aimes. I wanted to report back to Jack and give him every detail.

I felt like I should have had my own spy song going in the background as I mentally catalogued details. Then I laughed at myself for being stupid. I had no idea what I was doing and Jack would probably laugh at me for mentioning it. During a slow period I went to refill their drinks and asked Shane, “What brings you guys in here on Christmas?”

Shane took a drink and looked as though he was about to brush off the question when all of a sudden Aimes answered for him. “We were actually working late on a new murder we discovered today. We decided to stop for a drink before heading home after such a gruesome scene. I’m sure Jack has told you all about this case he is trying to take over.” He rolled his eyes and kept going. “So you know about the serial killer going around and getting more and more loud with his victims. You should see what he does. It’s actually pretty impressive.” He started talking faster showing his excitement about these murders. It sent chills down my spine just watching him and listening to someone seem happy about the horrifying case. I’d watched Jack grow tired and irritable as the case took its toll on him and here was this guy going on and on like he was talking about his latest crush. “I mean this guy has to be a genius right? He’s been getting away with this for years. At least, until I caught on.” He actually placed his hand on his chest as if in awe of himself before continuing. “He pushes the limits and challenges us to find him. Each murder is becoming more obvious. I swear, he’s so good he could kill someone in the precinct, right under our noses and the department wouldn’t even know. Not even Jack.”

I peeked at Shane to see him just staring into his glass and looking like he was counting to ten as he took a deep breath. “I mean, sweetheart, the one we saw tonight had this chick wrapped in Christmas lights like some kind of gift to us.”

My eyes widened in horror right before a hand slammed down on the bar. I jumped and looked at Shane. He focused his rage on Bennet, with his eyebrows drawn as low as they could, over his eyes that appeared black in his state of anger. The right side of his upper lip curled in disgust as a muscle twitched in his jaw. “Shut the fuck up, Bennet,” he growled out between clenched teeth. As Bennet stammered out an apology, Shane finished his drink in one swallow. “Let’s fucking go.”
He threw more than enough cash on the bar and gave me a quick nod. “Sorry about that, Luella. Make sure you stay safe. I’ll see you around.” He turned to walk out, not even bothering to check to make sure Aimes followed. He did follow, but not before he turned one last time to give me a lecherous perusal of my body.

“See you around, sweetheart.” With a wink he turned and followed Shane out.

I never thought I would ever write a book. I wasn’t even really a reader until age twenty. But I picked up a romance novel and that was it for me. I fell in love. And then one day I stepped into this indie world of books and I started writing. Then I wrote enough to keep going. And then I had a book. Sometimes things happen when you least expect it, but it all falls into place. Writing is it for me.

I’m a stay at home mom with a degree in chemistry and biology. I LOVE science. If you get me started talking about biochemistry, it’s all over. I’ll rattle on for days! But I use all that knowledge to take care of my two little girls. Mostly while my husband is away being a soldier.

It’s taken me a long time to get here, but I like it … And I think I might stay a while.

Excerpt

Prologue
Twelve years earlier

I drain the cold liquid from my glass and tip the remaining ice cubes into the wastebasket. Placing the glass against my bedroom wall, I listen closely to the loud noises coming from the next door neighbour’s bedroom. My lungs begin to fill with much needed air, the muffled ringing in my ears beginning to dull. Closing my eyes as tight as they can go, I gasp, trying to control my breathing, not wanting to make a single sound. My heartbeat thunders a hundred miles per hour inside my chest, and I attempt to slow it with deep, calming breaths. I cover my other ear with my free hand in hopes that the sounds will come through the glass pressed against the door a little clearer.
It sounds like people are shouting; a woman and a man. They’re arguing about something, screaming at the top of their lungs. She’s crying now, hiccupping with each sob. I can’t hear anyone else in the room with them, just those two unfamiliar voices.

Standing here on the chair in my pink nightgown in the dark, I see him: a boy standing against his window. I jump with fear, startled. What is he doing? I move my head closer, squinting my eyes together. He’s crying. I think he is hurt in some way. I can see his hands; his palms are flat against the window pane. The tears are streaming down his face, soaking his cheeks like the heavens have just opened and poured down around him.
I step off the chair slowly, not taking my eyes off this boy whose skin is stained with blood and tears. Placing my glass on the nightstand, I move slowly over to the window to get a closer look. I want to go to him, ask him why he is in so much pain, but I don’t want to scare him. A dull ache settles in my chest—my heart hurts for him.
As I lean against the cold glass, my heart breaks a little bit more. I watch hopelessly as his pain unfolds in front of my eyes. Each tear falling from his beautiful, dark eyes pierces my heart, sending a wave of pain through me. I press my palms and cheek against the glass, my breath steaming up the window.
I want to help him.
He might be hurt.
Someone else might be hurt.
But I can’t do anything but reach out to him. I push from the window with my hands—my back hitting the wall to the side of me—and slide slowly down the wall to the floor while my eyes remain glued to the figure before me. Tears roll down my cheeks, my own fear matching the beautiful boy.

I have enjoyed writing my story as I had a pretty hard upbringing and have suffered like everyone does over the years in different situations, but everyone has a story to tell.

I just hope my story can help someone out there who is, or has been through the same sorts of situations as myself.

Blog Tour – Temptation by Brie Paisley

Temptation comes in many forms.
Most people are able to resist or fight against it. I am not one of those people.
I used to be the good girl. That shy and forgettable girl that everyone looked over. That girl that had her whole life planned out. But one choice, one bad mistake at a party, changed my life in so many ways. Gone was my mapped out future. Gone was the perfect image of the girl I was.
Then he came.
Viktor Matvei found me. He saved me. And then he offered me one of the biggest temptations of all. The chance to become someone else. I had a chance to be stronger, confident, and most of all, the opportunity to change the course of my life. If it were just me, the decision would’ve been easy but my thoughts are blurred with an unexpected return of my past.
Viktor lives and breathes his strict rules. He is demanding and he will stop at nothing to get what he wants. I know there are things in his life that makes him be the way he is. He is a temptation that I cannot give into. If I do, I fear there will not be a shred of Ava Walker left.
Now I have a choice.
Will I continue to fight Viktor? Or will I give into his temptation?

Synopsis

Erika

I was told that dreams were our heart’s desires. My nightmares, however, became my obsession.

His name is Michael Crist.

My boyfriend’s older brother is like that scary movie that you peek through your hand to watch. He is handsome, strong, and completely terrifying. The star of his college’s basketball team and now gone pro, he’s more concerned with the dirt on his shoe than me.

But I noticed him.

I saw him. I heard him. The things that he did, and the deeds that he hid…For years, I bit my nails, unable to look away.

Now, I’ve graduated high school and moved on to college, but I haven’t stopped watching Michael. He’s bad, and the dirt I’ve seen isn’t content to stay in my head anymore.

Because he’s finally noticed me.

Michael

Her name is Erika Fane, but everyone calls her Rika.

My brother’s girlfriend grew up hanging around my house and is always at our dinner table. She looks down when I enter a room and stills when I am close. I can always feel the fear rolling off of her, and while I haven’t had her body, I know that I have her mind. That’s all I really want anyway.

Until my brother leaves for the military, and I find Rika alone at college.

In my city.

Unprotected.

The opportunity is too good to be true as well as the timing. Because you see, three years ago she put a few of my high school friends in prison, and now they’re out.

We’ve waited. We’ve been patient. And now every last one of her nightmares will come true.

~ Excerpt ~

I fell back to my feet and crept through my apartment as I listened to the pounding that had now become a steady attack. My feet followed the sound, stepping absently closer to it, and I finally pressed my ear against the wall leading to my hallway, my heart racing as the vibrations touched my skin.

Resting my cheek against the surface, I swallowed the tight lump in my throat as the thumping against the wall grew faster and faster.

There was someone over there. In the empty apartment.

Holding up my phone, I dialed the office downstairs but got no answer. I knew there was a night manager named Simon Something-Or-Other, but I didn’t think many people were on duty at night. He must be away from his desk.

I continued listening, wondering if I could ignore it and just wait until morning to ask the manager about it, but the further down the hall I travelled, the louder it got until I was standing next to the rear entrance.

Opening up the door, I peeked my head into the hallway, holding the heavy steel exit open just enough to inspect.

Glancing to my right, I saw a door just like mine. And then I heard a woman’s high-pitched cry ring out around me, and I started breathing harder.

And then there was another cry. And another, and another, and…

Was she having sex? My mouth fell open as I tried not to laugh.

Oh, my God.

But I thought the place was supposed to be empty.

I stepped out, knife in hand—just in case—and walked quietly down to the other door, glancing up and seeing small security cameras along the wall, probably installed when the apartments were built.

Pressing my ear to the door, I listened, still hearing the thump, thump, thump of something hitting the wall, and the girl’s breathy cries over and over again.

I folded my lips between my teeth, covering my smile with my free hand.

But then the woman cried out. “No! Ah, oh, God! Please!”

And my face fell, hearing the fear in her voice. The short, shrill screams were now different. Panicked and scared, and her cries sounded struggled. My mouth suddenly went dry as I stood there listening.

“Ah!” she cried out again. “No, please stop!”

I backed away from the door, not finding it funny anymore.

But then something hit the door from the other side, making a loud thud, and I scurried backward. “Oh, shit,” I gritted out under my breath.

I shot my head up to the cameras, now wondering if they fed to Security downstairs or to whoever was inside the apartment. Did they know I was out here?

I spun around and dashed for my door, grabbing the handle and trying to twist it.

But it was locked. “Dammit!” I mouthed. Fucking thing must lock automatically.

Another thud hit the door, mere feet away from me—so close—and I darted my eyes over to it, my breathing turning fast and painful.

I pulled on the door handle again, twisting and yanking, but it didn’t budge.

Another thud hit the door, and I jerked upright, dropping the knife.

“Shit.”

I dived down to pick it up, but just then I heard the other door swing open, so I bolted down the stairwell, hiding behind the wall and forgetting about the knife.

Fuck!

Screw this. Whoever was coming out of the vacant apartment was definitely someone I didn’t want to meet. I dashed down flight after flight, a cry lodged in my throat as fear gripped my chest.

A pounding echoed above me, and I spared a quick glance upward, seeing a hand sliding down the railings as whoever it was jumped flights of stairs.

Oh, my God. I raced down, one flight after the other, a drop of sweat gliding down my neck. The pounding was getting closer and closer, my legs about to give out as my exhausted muscles worked as fast as they could. I gasped, seeing the door labeled LOBBY. I yanked it open and burst through, looking behind me once again to see if he—or she—was behind me.

But then I slammed into a wall, and I let out a small cry as hands gripped my upper arms.

I looked up and exhaled a breath, seeing Michael Crist towering over me, his eyes narrowed.

“Michael?” I breathed out, frozen in confusion.

“What the hell are you doing?” He arched a brow and set me back, away from him, and let go of my arm. “It’s after one a.m.”

I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. Why was he here?

He stood in front of an elevator, a different one than I had taken this morning, dressed in a black suit, looking like he’d just been at a club or something. A young brunette stood next to him, beautiful in a tight, navy-blue cocktail dress that fell mid-thigh.

I suddenly felt exposed, dressed in my silk sleep shorts and black tank top, my hair hanging about, probably in tangles.

“I…” I looked over my shoulder again, noticing that whoever had followed me down the stairs hadn’t come out the door yet.

I twisted my head back, looking up at Michael. “I heard something up on my floor,” I told him.

And then I shook my head, still confused. “What are you doing here?”

“I live here,” he shot back, and I immediately recognized that ever-present intolerant tone that he always used with me.

“Live here?” I questioned. “I thought you lived in your family’s building.”

He slid a hand into his pocket and cocked his head, looking at me point-blank like I was stupid.

I closed my eyes, expelling a sigh. “Of course,” I breathed out, realization hitting. “Of course. You’re the one who lives on the twenty-second floor.”

BLP REVEIW ~ Tracy

Gods, I forgot just how much I loved this book (and was peeved at myself that I hadn’t reviewed it the first time round!)

Corrupt is a great start to the new Devil’s Night series from Penelope Douglas. A rollercoaster ride of a read, Pen had me on the edge of your seat at times, wondering what the hell was coming next, wanting to gut punch the male MCs a lot and cheering on Rika when she stood up for herself – though once or twice I wanted to yell at her for her kinda easy acceptance of Michael’s broodiness and, at times, shitty attitude!

Different from the Fall Away series but as well written, Corrupt grabbed me from the get go and I could barely put my kindle down as I wanted to know just what the hell was going on and what exactly Rika had done to warrant the crap she was dished by the Horsemen.

I’m so looking forward to Hideaway and getting to know more about the characters.

Without doubt, this read deserves 5 totally corrupted stars!!!!!

Synopsis:

Erin Robinson is having an epically bad year. Her blossoming career on Broadway tanked, forcing her to crawl back to home to Wellington. The icing on her failure cake? Her former on-again, off-again fling is in town, and the sexy Marine is taking up way too much space.

Warren Davis always knew Erin was special, which is exactly why he can’t have her. A girl like her deserves something permanent—something neither of them wants. But now that they’re both back in town and she’s right there in front of him, a challenge in her eyes he’s never been able to resist, he’s questioning everything.

That challenge quickly escalates into an epic game of Truth or Dare. Erin’s sure she’s got him on lock, but as the night progresses, Warren’s dares intensify, drowning her in lust. But with the past still breathing down their necks, there’s no way either of them can win…

See where it all began with book 1 of the Out of Uniform series, In Bed with Mr. Wrong.

Excerpts:

“You haven’t even heard what I’m proposing.”
“I don’t have to. I know you. And as great as an hour of hot sweaty sex would be, I’m not in the mood.”
That, more than anything else, confirmed there was something wrong. He tamped down the urge to ask what it was. They weren’t that kind of friends. Not yet. They were two people who’d hooked up a handful of times in the last six years. That was it.
That was what he was trying to change.
So he nudged her shoulder, hating that the winter made so many layers necessary. It was only his imagination making him think he could feel the heat of her body through her coat from that tiny touch. “Truth or dare, Freckles?”
Her jaw dropped. “You’re joking.”
“We haven’t done it in years.” Not since the night they met.
“Right. Because we’re grown-ass adults, and truth or dare is for kids.”
He watched the memories reflected in her hazel eyes. Truth or dare was how they’d gotten started in the first place. They’d been with a group of friends down at Mill Creek and someone had suggested the game. It had been a wild night of the kind of trouble only teenagers could get into, and it had culminated out in the middle of the creek where another of their friends dared Erin to kiss Warren.
And, holy fuck, had she kissed him.

Erin looked around. “Since we’re on the same page, why are we hiding in the Joneses’ old barn? I know Wellingford is pretty countrified but this is ridiculous.” They’d built a bigger, newer barn on the other side of their property last year, so this one was only being used for extra storage and was guaranteed to be deserted, but that didn’t mean she wanted to camp out in it. She wanted to keep moving, to get back into town and back to their game. The faster he dealt out another dare to her, the faster she could win and move on with her life.
He went to his knees in front of her, his big body sliding between her thighs and spreading her legs. “I still have my dare to complete.”
“Uh, no, you don’t. You completed it back in Miss Nora’s front yard.” She pointed even as hurt blossomed in her chest. That kiss had been freaking amazing and he was acting like it hadn’t happened at all.
He shot her a look that stole her breath, his dark eyes so heated it was a wonder she didn’t melt into a puddle at his feet. “That wasn’t a kiss.”
“I was there. Pretty sure it was a kiss.”
He pulled off one of her boots and then the other, and she was so shocked that she let him. Warren ran his hands up her legs, making her wish she’d worn something flimsier than her favorite pair of jeans. “I don’t know who you’ve been kissing over the last year, but they obviously haven’t been doing it properly.”
She bit her lip when his chilled fingers brushed the top of her jeans, slipping beneath her shirt to stroke along her skin. Why was she trying to argue her way out of this…whatever it was? “I’ve been kissed plenty fine in the last year.”
“No, you haven’t.” He abruptly tightened his grip and jerked her to the very edge of the bench.
Her breath stalled out, and she could only watch as he unbuttoned her jeans and worked them down her legs, never taking his gaze from her face. Erin licked her lips. “How would you know?”
“Because, Freckles, you haven’t been kissed by me.”
