I adore MC books, and over the last couple of weeks have been devouring them at a rapid rate. Most were by established authors and a continuation of an existing series but this one was a lovely surprise, a debut book by an author who shows real potential.

Katarina Saunders. Kat to the world, international rock star. Lead singer for The Grinders. Until an accident that ruins her career and sends her running into the mountains, away from everything and everyone.

Dane Reynolds, President of the Savage Angels MC. Fierce, strong and loyal.

He’s had his eye on Kat for a while now and has been waiting for her to come to him, but he’s had enough of waiting. He’s decided it’s time to make her his. But so has her stalker, he’s been waiting for far too long…

Can Dane save Kat? Or will her savage stalker get to her first?

Let’s start with Kat – after the accident she hides herself away, unable to cope with the outside world of intrusive paparazzi and fans. Lost and adrift with no focus to her life if she can no longer sing. She moves into her mothers’ house, totally unaware that the MC President lives next door and that the club had a close relationship with her mother.

Then there’s Dane – the Prez – my very favourite type of tall, tatted alpha. Oh yes please, gimme some of that man!!
After a year of just watching over Kat for her safety he’s done waiting for an introduction – there are issues to be sorted connected with Kat’s mother and he just wants to get to know her in every way possible!

What both are unaware of is that a stalker has Kat in his sights and will not stop until he has her.

There is plenty of chemistry between Kat and Dane. The relationship was not always as developed as I would have liked but a damn good start. The suspense aspect with the stalker was well done with a misdirection that keeps you guessing.

Blood is not the only tie that creates family, friendship and love do and Kathleen Kelly shows this really well. To Kat, the band is family and obviously to Dane his MC Brothers are his and in the interactions between them all, both separately and together, the love and affection shines through. I really liked the fact that the band and MC on meeting both become one huge dysfunctional unit, teasing and abusing each other but whose only priority is the safety of Kat.

There are a lot of secondary characters in this book but I would love to see more Judge, he intrigues me!

On the whole a very enjoyable read introducing the world of the Savage Angels and Grinders to us, the only spoilers for me was a little overkill on the amount of POVs used and the author’s dialogue style was a little disjointed with the grammar sometimes. As a debut it’s a solid one and I have no doubt that as this author gains more experience she will be one to look out for.
