It was a way to grieve the death of her beloved grandmother, and inspired by a dream she once had as a young girl. When she started reading new adult novels, she fell in love with the genre. I didn’t want to give mine to him. Not when he kept me out.
He gave me enough, just enough to make me fall in love with him.
I say this to convince myself. But I know the truth.
I would’ve fallen in love with him at a distance.
Handing my heart over to Luke was the easiest thing I’ve ever done.
I was naive when I wished for more, when I hoped he wanted the same things I did.
I try to hate him. I try to forget him.
But it’s not that easy.
Love is a ruthless bitch, and I’m her latest victim.
When she sets her sights on you, she doesn’t just consume your heart, she goes for your soul.
What we had was perfect, real, and all I would ever want.
But she destroyed it.
She destroyed us.
I try to hate her. I try to forget her.
But it’s not that easy.
Love is for people who have hope, and I have none.
I have to say that ‘All I Want’ was a very pleasant surprise and is a much more consistent rounded out offering than the previous in this series. The cover suits the book on this occasion and the promise the author showed progresses and develops, don’t be mistaken I enjoyed ‘Where I Belong’ but it’s inconsistencies in character development and stretching of the plausible did rate it down for me.
‘All I Want’ is Tessa and Luke’s story. We pick up 12 months after their split. Tessa is unhappy and also “desperate for some dick” so resorting to internet dating.
I’ve been registered on Ignite for nine days, and every guy so far that has contacted me has either been too old, too weird, or given off a rapey vibe from his screen name alone. One guy landed on ClitMaster69 when he went through the tedious task of settling on a name. And then there was FingerBanger and ItsSmallButWorks. Seriously? I applaud you for your honesty, dude, but I believe my ideal mate is supposed to be able to fuck like a champion, and there is always a size requirement when it comes to my pussy. You must be this long to board this ride.
I thoroughly enjoyed Tessa, totally unapologetic for her sexuality, sassy, sarcastic, bitchy and a drama diva, funny to read and my type of girl. She is trying to find her way after breaking up with her One, he doesn’t want kids and commitment so it’s for the best, right?…………………
Luke I wanted to slap him as often as I wanted to jump him, much like Tessa’s feelings for him! After the breakup he returns to his manwhore behaviour, even though this hurts Tessa I had to laugh when she catches him at her brother’s wedding getting a blowjob. The girl has style!
Oh sweetie. You might want to go disinfect. He’s got the herp.”
“Oh my God. Are you serious? You have herpes?”
“What? No I don’t!”
“He’s really sweet about it though,” I say sympathetically at the blonde. “He pays for my Valtrex every month.”
Luke is not ready to let Tessa go, he may in his head think ok, so what? But his heart says different. Of course his stubborn ass takes its own sweet time to get on board with his heart and hence our story.
The chemistry, passion and pure unfinished business between these two explodes into angry sex that obviously sorts absolutely nothing but is hot! The pull/push between them is at times frustrating and yet at others tugs at the heartstrings.
Overall I enjoyed it, Luke is a bit of a dick (most men!) and juvenile to the point you dislike him sometimes but if you don’t throw your kindle and continue then it’s a sweet read with a little angst thrown in. Ben, Mia and Nolan of course make appearances, Nolan stealing the show as usual! It will be interesting to see where the author takes us with Reed’s story and if Luke and Tessa have killed each other with sex or weapons by that point!

Those ridiculously gorgeous features of his are on display for my eyes right now, and I don’t have to avert my gaze because he doesn’t know I’m watching. Luke’s eyes shoot open and he grabs the blonde’s head, sliding her off his cock.
She releases it with a pop and a grunt of disappointment.
Apparently, she isn’t finished. But she looks pretty fucking finished to me.
She stands and wipes her mouth with the back of her hand, glaring in Luke’s direction.
“Oh my God. Are you serious? You have herpes?”
“He pays for my Valtrex every month.” I turn my eyes to Luke, letting out a swooning sigh.
I turn and storm away before he can give me a comeback. But more importantly, before he can see the smile fading from my lips.

It was suppose to be a debt settled, just a price being repaid.
Instead love was born…
…from unpaid dues it bloomed.
See, that’s the funny thing about love, you never expect it.
After losing her mother to cancer a few months prior to graduating, Bree Forbes was finally able to take some time away and enjoy her college days. That all changed in a blink of an eye the moment Bree came home for break. She didn’t expect to find her dad strapped to chair, a gun pointed at his head.
Alzerro “Zerro” King wasn’t a man to be messed with. Women flocked to him and men ran from him. He ruled the mafia with an iron fist and no one ever crossed him unless they wanted to pay the price. He believed the only way to pay for something, if unable to do so, was to do it in blood. Nothing got him harder than stringing someone up, and putting a bullet in their head.
That is until Bree.
One look is all it took for him to know she could pay for her father’s debt in many other ways… Ways that could get him hard.
Could a big city mafia king fall in love with the small town country girl? Would she be able to handle his dark and demanding ways? When push comes to shove, would Bree end up running only to be killed? Or would she sacrifice herself for love?

“ It’s a rough journey and it’s a dark story. There’s no fluff or gentleness. There’s just blood, sweat, and tears. You really need to have an open mind to understand every emotion you will feel. If you’re one of those people who only like reading fluffy HEAs, then this story is not for you. It’s gritty, toxic, violent, but among the violence and killings, love blooms. But it’s betrayal and lies that will end those rare moments of happiness for Alzerro & Bree *sniff*. Indebted left me anxious, betrayed, angry, upset, hurt, lost, & empty. I am but a shell, waiting for book 2 after being utterly consumed by book 1 *sigh*. “ – Wendy, Goodreads Reviewer
Her eyes leave mine as she adjusts herself in the bed, her body rolling over as she pulls the covers up and over her head. I must have misread her. I thought for sure she was going to strike back with something.
“Are we done playing games already?” I taunt her, walking over to the bed and sliding into my spot. She scoots closer to her side, as if getting away from me is her number one priority. That’s too bad because getting closer to her is my number one priority.
Reaching out, I put my hand under the blanket and latch onto her arm. A squeal escapes her mouth as I pull her toward me. Of course she has to fight me.
“Let. Go. Of. Me,” she grits out every word as she tries to shake me off. Does she think she can win? Does she think I won’t hurt her?
“Nope.” I pull harder until she is on my side of the bed, and I am leaning over her. Our chests are pushed against one another’s, and her breaths are coming in at a rate that is way higher than normal…
“Stop,” she breathes out. It suddenly dawns on me that I know nothing about her, nothing other than her father owes me quite a bit of money. However, I am enjoying our current interaction too much to think much of it.
“Why?” I ask, cocking my head. I am not touching her, at least not like I want to be touching her.
“I don’t even know you. We don’t know each other.”
I laugh a full-on belly shaking laugh… “Then why the fuck would you even volunteer to come with me? You do realize that you, well, mostly your body, will be paying your father’s debt, don’t you? Every moan, groan, orgasm, and every spread of those legs will be payment.”
Her eyes dilate as her breaths become pants. She couldn’t have been that far gone; she had to have known that she would be coming here for so much more than just helping me. Suddenly, she finds her voice.
“I didn’t have any other option. I would rather be taken than lose my only other parent.” Something about what she says tugs at my heart and in turn pulls me out of the haze that is consuming me. I can tell myself over and over again that I don’t have a heart, but every word that comes from her mouth reminds me that I do.
“Roll over and go to sleep,” I grudgingly command, standing from the bed. She looks at me in confusion, wrinkles marring her beautiful face. I will give her that: she is beautiful unlike anything I am used to. Her face is soft, her cheeks full, and she radiates youthfulness. Her nose is small, and her teeth are straight and white. She is simple, but at the same time not so simple you wouldn’t notice her.
“Did I finally hit a sore spot?” she taunts, sitting up from her lying position. It is strange seeing a woman in my bed.
“No. You merely reminded me that I can’t care for the wounded, sick little puppies like yourself.” It is a knee jerking response to fire back a shitty remark.
I grab her, my touch gentle. She struggles against me, her elbow coming to land against my stomach. It doesn’t affect me, though. I have been shot at, punched, kicked, and beaten many-a-time.
“Stop,” I demand, pushing her back onto the bed. She squirms even more, as if she thinks she can actually get away. She needs to stop—she is making me hard with every scrape of her thigh against my cock.
Since she won’t stop, I decide to take matters into my own hands. I push my weight onto her, which in turn pushes my cock against her thigh. A gasp leaves her lips as her heart races under her shirt. I can hear it even without being against her chest.
“Get off of me!” she cries out. It sounds like a cross between a need and a hate. It’s as if she wants me in that moment, but at the same time wants me to go away. If that is the case, I completely understand.
“I know you want it. You want me as much as I want you. You want my cock inside your tight pussy, don’t you?” I push my arousal against her again, thrusting my hips in an upward motion.
She shakes her head no, but with every small thrust, she sighs as if it alleviates some of the pressure deep within. Her eyes darken, and her tongue dips out onto her bottom lip. She wants me. I know it, and she knows it. It is getting there that is going to be the hardest part.
“Let me fuck you… Let me satisfy all those desires deep inside that pretty little head of yours.” My hands caress her as I leave a kiss against her neck.
“You’re demented,” she hisses. She is on the edge, at the point where she wants it but she doesn’t. I just need to give her that last push into wanting…
“Yes, I fucking am,” I murmur against her ear as I suck it into my mouth. I hear her cry of pleasure, and I’ll be damned if my heart doesn’t speed up a little bit.
“This is wrong…” she utters between pants. I know why she thinks it is wrong, but I don’t care. She will have to understand and learn if she ever plans to make it in this life.
“Nothing is wrong. It’s merely what you think is right and wrong that has you confused.” I push her down, parting her legs with my own. Devouring her neck and ear, I wait for her to say the final words.
I may be a bastard, a ruthless killer even, but I am not one for taking women against their wills. There is always a tight, warm pussy that wants my cock. There is no need to take when it can be given by others.
“ When your own character causes you to blush, you know you’re doing a damn good job. Watch out for his dirty mouth, it’ll get you every time. “

Release Date: November 25, 2014
Monica and Alex Waters have spent that last few months working to repair a broken marriage and rekindle their passion. Just as they start finding their spark, Quinn Matthews and his escalating career resurfaces, but this time Alex makes the decision to let Monica go.
The devastation of losing her high school sweetheart, her home, and even her dog twists Monica down a destructive path that alienates her from her closest friends and lands her on Quinn’s couch. Despite her efforts to resist jumping into his arms again, the spark between them reignites and sweeps her away on a whirlwind holiday adventure. She finds that falling in love with Quinn’s family and lifestyle is as easy as falling for his ocean colored eyes. The problem is that it’s all too easy, and when she sees that Quinn’s reinvented life has completely shifted towards her dreams, she starts to question whether he’s too good to be true.
Quinn has a secret that was never meant to be kept this long, but will Monica be able to trust another man who’s lied? And now that Quinn’s got his happily ever after in sight, he’s not about to let her go or share her with another man
The outdoor style shopping mall is bustling with tourist and local art lovers. Rows of art galleries surround the courtyard where a stage welcomes a local reggae band. Monica settles into a groove and starts dancing with the crowd. Alex tries to hang in for a couple of songs before he starts feeling claustrophobic and looks to the galleries and shops around them.
“Go ahead,” she says with a loving smile. “I’ll meet you down there… after one more song.”
He gives her a little kiss on the cheek and glides his hand across her behind before making his way out of the crowd. His attention is pulled by various pieces in windows along the way. There’s a large glass sea turtle in shades of green and gold followed by a painting of an autumn forest with heavy texture. He stands there daydreaming for a minute until he’s distracted by a reflection passing in the glass. It’s so brief he’s sure it’s his imagination. He barely catches a glimpse down the mall as the backside of the man disappears into another gallery.
Alex follows the ghost, dodging through happy couples and pushy salespeople trying to get his attention. Before he can see inside a painting that’s prominently displayed on a front wall stops him. A cold washes over as he stands there staring at it. He slowly moves inside, mesmerized by the familiar vibrant paint strokes until he sees a few people gathered in the back. A man talking to two smiling women stills himself as Alex’s eyes freeze on the back of his shaved head. No words were needed as the tropical air takes a chill. Even the women sense a showdown and step back to give Quinn room.
Quinn turns. What do I say? Fuck! I thought that was him. I hoped it wasn’t. Quinn moves very slowly towards Alex. Is he gonna hit me? I do deserve it. Might as well get it over with. “Hey.” Quinn pauses near the center of the room waiting.
Alex swallows hard, his nostrils flaring and fist clenched. His jaw flexes as his breathing grows heavier, but the emotions just start to turn to mush. His eyes fill as thoughts of his new friend’s betrayal wash over and the painting draws his eyes again.
“I’m sorry Alex,” Quinn says quietly.
Monica nearly passes the gallery on her way to see their friends when Alex’s shirt first catches her eye. She halts and shifts backwards until she sees the painting and stops. It’s a female figure bent forward reaching for her toes. The abstract form of her body in swirls of orange and reds is cradled by a man swathed in blues and purple. Oh my God! That’s me. That’s us, stretching. It can’t be. He’s…
She struggles for air as the tears swell, and she can already feel him. As she stands there, not crossing the threshold, the two men watch her. When her eyes finally land on Quinn, electricity fills the room. She can only see him and the deep tan that backdrops the pale oceany eyes reaching for her. A warm drop gently slides down her cheekbone as her breathing syncs with his. His lips move slightly hinting at words that he can’t find while she struggles not to run into his arms.
Alex’s discomfort is audible as he clears his clogged throat to rattle her attention to his worried eyes. She steps in and touches his hand briefly. “I’ll be outside,” she says, turning without another glance at Quinn. Her feet move quick as her thoughts try to keep up. What are they doing? Alex is gonna hit him. I can’t believe he’s here. What are the odds? Did he know we’d be here? No. Maybe he moved here. That painting was him and I together. Would Alex know that? It’s pretty abstract. Fuck! This can’t be happening. Before she knows it, she’s at the other end of the mall near the parking lot. She settles on a bench to wait for the world to stop crumbling around her.
About the Author:
I’m a designer, author, wife and dog-lover living in the South Pasadena area of California. I got my BFA in Film Production from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, but my love of a good story came way before college. I remember writing my first full story in fifth grade on a typewriter. I cut and pasted it into a book, complete with cardboard cover and taped binding. Things have changed a lot since then. With the magnificent digital age I can produce books and give them to the world without a sticky mess.
In college numerous instructors and peers praised my dialogue pushed me to hone my storytelling skills. Of course the need to cut and paste was still there, so I went into the world of Production Design and Art Direction for films and television. It gave me the ability to connect design to storytelling in a way that no other career can. The past 18 years have spun a unique perspective on visually emotional tales of relationships and the thread that ties all things together. Now I’m shifting focus on the driving force that brought me here… stories. I hope that I can share a unique perspective on life, love and the pursuit in all of the above.
♦10 fun facts about A.L.♦
1. I not only like to design things like homes, gardens, and interiors, I like to build them too. I built the redwood decks in our backyard when our carpenter backed out at the last minute. Since I was off work for a few weeks, I went for it. The best part was the neighbor’s reaction to me out there every day with power tools and very long planks of wood. I think working with your hands gives you an immediate sense of accomplishment.
2. I’m a reluctant morning lover, which means I love getting things get done early while it’s quiet and calm, but my attitude when I first roll out of bed is sour.
3. I’ve practiced bonsai for many years and have a garden with 10 trees on display.
4. I love board games and try to organize game nights with friends as often as possible. My family was always very competitive and had a regular Sunday night usually filled with Yahtzee or UNO battles.
5. My favorite book as a kid was Pride and Prejudice, but I was very Dyslexic so I hated reading. Eventually I got into an assistance program that worked me through the difficulties and turned me into a bookworm.
6. I’m a hardcore Oakland A’s fan. Baseball is the only sport I follow.
7. We moved from Oklahoma when I was twelve to Las Vegas. It was so completely twisted and unique to living anywhere else in the world, especially in the early 90s when things were booming. I got a well-rounded education on what I didn’t want out of life by living there. I don’t visit unless I’m dragged there.
8. I have an English Setter and German Shorthair Pointer that keep me on my toes.
9. I love road trips, but have to be the driver. I’m a terrible passenger.
10. My husband and I are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary in 2015, but we’ve known each other since the summer of 1993 in high school.

I WRITE THE LOVE STORIES
– NOT ROMANCESI’ve been creating my own little world since I was very
young. When I was eight years old, I began to bring those worlds to life with
pen and paper.
Although I’ve had a few short hiatuses, writing has been
of passion of mine for many years. I’ve always viewed my writing as a hobby or
a purgative process; I never thought to share my very personal works with
anyone outside of my family. Now, I’m taking the plunge and self-publishing my
works. I’m very excited and apprehensive about the opportunity to share my work
with people who may enjoy it.
While I write across genres (I find it hard to stick to
one genre), I do have an archetype when it comes to the female protagonist —
they have to have certain brand of strength and layered personalities. There
will often be a lot of darkness and depth to my stories, because I’m intrigued

Writing Science Fiction/Fantasy is my first love. If
there is one thing for sure, I’m a bit of a misfit when it comes to Romance. I
don’t feel that I write romances, thus the tagline. I prefer gritty love
stories, where the protagonist isn’t necessarily the girl next door, or the
girl you encounter in everyday life. In other words, I don’t tend to write
characters who are easy to fall in love with.
The elements that will be common in my stories are:
depth, controversy, thought-provoking and complex plots, and misfit characters.
If literature that appeals to your senses and pushes your boundaries intrigues
you, then I sincerely hope you enjoy the journey.

‘JAKE UNDERSTOOD’ by PENELOPE WARD
From the New York Times bestselling author of Jake Undone, comes a full-length companion novel.
A different side to the story: Jake’s side.
“We’re getting a new roommate,” they said.
I thought nothing of it…until she walked in the door. Her hand trembled in mine as she looked at me with fearful eyes. My entire world spun on its axis.
It was a mismatch made in heaven: innocent girl from the boonies moves in with tattooed, pierced, badboy engineer.
I came up with a bet, a plan to tutor her in math and coach her through her phobias. What I wasn’t betting on was becoming addicted to her.
But I was living a double life on weekends, and once she found out about it, she’d be gone.
I had to protect myself and that meant one thing: I couldn’t fall in love.
**In Jake Understood, pivotal scenes from Jake Undone are retold from Jake’s point of view combined with all-new material that will give readers a never-before-seen glimpse into Jake’s past, present and future. It can stand alone but if both books are read, should follow Jake Undone.
