There is a hunger that blood alone cannot satisfy…

Growing up in a world of privilege, Royal Gabriel never questioned the source of her father’s great wealth or his cruel enslavement of the human-like beings known as “bloodlings.” Now grown to exquisite womanhood, she can no longer ignore Charles Gabriel’s wickedness, especially after encountering his latest captive—the alpha bloodling pack leader he calls “X”—chained in the basement of the family estate. Royal is captivated by the sensuous power of this creature who is expected to battle to the death against others of his race in her father’s underground fighting arena. But only after she sets him free—after surrendering to his poisonous bite and raw passion—does she learn the alpha’s true history, and her bloodthirsty lover’s real name: Maddox.

With bloodling venom coursing through her veins, Royal feels herself growing, changing, awakening as never before beneath the alpha’s tender touch. Now only Maddox can save her. But the inescapable demands of a breathtaking, forbidden love and the fire Maddox has ignited within her are leading Royal down a dangerous path, branding her a traitor and hunted enemy of her own vengeful bloodline.

A strange, distant noise echoed in the chasm of darkness in front of her. The wine cellar stretched on into endless shadows, and she got the eerie sense she wasn’t alone. Royal snatched another bottle of wine before rushing to the staircase.

A low, doleful…was it a growl? Some kind of animalistic grumble carried from the black abyss. He sounded as if he was in pain. Was it coming from a “him” or a wounded animal? Curiosity drove her toward it. She took a deep swallow of wine, then set both bottles on the bar before wandering into the dark.

Royal brushed her long brown hair behind her shoulders and grasped her arms to ward off the chills. She followed the sound through the cold, damp cellar. As she turned a corner, a sliver of light shone in a distant room. The growling grew more distinct as she drew closer.

The space was lit by a tiny window just below the ceiling. The falling snow outside cast a white glow on the dismal scene. A man, no…he must have been a bloodling, stood in the center of the room, his muscular arms stretched upward, shackled to an iron chain that hung from a wooden beam along the ceiling. A dark shadow of hair covered his shaved head. Stripped naked, his well-built body had taken quite a beating, covered almost completely with bruises and scrapes. An intricate black tattoo stretched over his right chest muscle and shoulder, streaked with blood. His head hung forward, shielding his face.

Britton sat on his heels on the floor, his face against the restrained bloodling’s groin, lapping at his exposed genitals with loud, slurping strokes.

The bloodling growled a deep, miserable sound.

Britton moaned, baring his teeth and gnawing lightly on the poor creature’s testicles.

“Stop!” Royal found her voice, surprised at the authority dripping from her own tone.

Startled, Britton scurried toward her, moving to kiss her satin high heels in apology.

“No…” She took a step backward, uneasy and nauseous. “Thank you. Go, um.” Her brief venture into dominance had passed, and she attempted to regain control. “Fetch, fetch the wine for my father.”

With a strange gleam in his dark brown eyes, Britton stared at her as he crawled out of the room.

The chained bloodling hadn’t moved, his head still hung over his chest, his long lashes lowered. Against her better judgment, Royal slowly walked toward him. The swish of her silk skirt and hollow click of her heels broke the silence in the room.

This must be X, the alpha pack leader Sebastian shot in the shoulder and captured. His dismal growls during Britton’s sexual assault pulled at her heart. He stood naked, broken, and vulnerable, not dangerous.

His heavy dick drew her gaze, larger than any she’d ever witnessed, and she imagined what it would look like erect. A vibrating growl escaped his throat, and she stopped in her tracks, inches away from him. She didn’t have a plan, only a deep urge to see his face

Tilting her head low, her gaze drifted up his beaten body to his tormented expression. His attractive features stunned her for a moment.

X lifted his lashes, his blue-green eyes piercing through her.

“Closer.” His voice was a gravelly murmur.

Her heart thumped faster. Sensations stirred in her lower belly as she moved toward him. She tried to quiet her rapid breath. His sensuous lips would be so easy to kiss, but she held herself steady.

“You’re going to torture me?” X twisted his face toward her, grazing his teeth along her neck.

“No.” She shivered at the sharp fangs, lightly dragging across her skin.

“Royal! Get away from him!”

Gwen’s scream sounded distant as the bloodling sank his teeth into Royal’s shoulder. She gasped at the sudden stabbing pain.

She tasted like a fantasy. He sucked on her silky skin, drawing power. His venom snaked into her bloodstream.

Her tiny hand clasped onto his side. “Please… No.”

He wanted to hear more of her begging. She grew weak, leaning into his body, and X felt it in his groin. Her silk dress brushed against his thickening cock, and a sensual growl rumbled in his throat.

His jagged teeth retracted, and he drew back from her, baffled by his own body’s response to her. This girl was his captor, the enemy. She and her family used his kind as pets.

Royal held her hand over the bleeding wound on her shoulder and stumbled backward. Amber-colored eyes stared at him as if he’d betrayed her somehow. Long waves of shiny brown hair fell around her shoulders, and X was gripped with the ludicrous urge to run his fingers through the thick layers.

Boxers, Briefs, or Commando?

Maddox: I’m not answering that.
Royal: You mean what do I like? On a man? Uh, boxer-briefs. Or commando sounds nice too.

Are you a wine or coffee kind of person?

Maddox: I like Jack Daniels.
Royal: Depends on the occasion, I don’t drink very often. I do love coffee.

What is your perfect type when it comes to dating?

Maddox: I don’t really “date”. I own a bar, and my pack brothers take up a lot of my time, too. Not a lot of time for females.
Royal: Hmm… I’m not very picky. Handsome. Loyal. Smart… the usual things, I guess.

Free and single or happily settled down?

Maddox: Single.
Royal: I’d like to settle down someday, I think. I mean, if I found the right guy, yeah definitely.

Favorite movie?

Maddox: The Godfather.
Royal: I travel a lot, so I don’t get to watch movies very often. The last one I saw was Avatar. I really liked it.

What would people be surprised to find out about you?

Maddox: I’m a pretty open book. I don’t keep secrets.
Royal: I’ve never introduced one friend to any of my family members. My family is a little… violent. Especially my father. I usually only see them on holidays.

What is your dream vacation destination?

Maddox: My pack and I go hunting and camping in the mountains around my hometown. I like being in the woods.

Royal: Some of my favorite places are Rome and Barcelona. But I’ve been traveling for a few years now and I’d like to settle down and make a home somewhere.

  1. I LOVE Christmas. I was so excited to write a holiday-themed story, although Unchained Love does get a little dark for such a sparkly holiday… It’s a rather violent erotic romance. My favorite kind. 🙂
  2. Bloodlings are featured prominently in book three of my Hawthorne Witches series. The characters from Unchained Love may or may not make an appearance in that book.
  3. I listened to “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac on repeat while I wrote most of the book. I usually change up my music choices, but this was such a short little book.
  4. The second book in the Bound in Bloodlust series, Broken Slave, will be about Britton, the slave bloodling house-pet, after he’s been freed. But after talking to the readers, I’ve decided to continue Royal and Maddox’s story and write Unchained Love Part Two next.
  5. I plan to write books for all of Maddox’s pack brothers, but so far I just have one in mind, book three, Taste of the Enemy. Royal’s sister, Gwen starts to turn from her wicked ways and falls for a bloodling herself after using his kind as pets her whole life.

PROMO POST ~ Paramour By The Devil by Savannah Hill

PARAMOUR FOR THE DEVIL
AUTHOR: Savannah Hill
GENRE: Paranormal Erotic Romance

Darkly erotic. Supremely powerful.

Haley Hawthorne is a witch. She shuns her paranormal gifts, instead escaping into a mundane, reclusive life as an accountant for her Uncle Eli’s firm. Five years earlier, Haley was kidnapped by Raden, brother of Lucifer, and held captive as his personal sex slave. She escaped but still bears the scars, both physical and emotional. Now she’s turned away from both magic and sex, and she’s certain nothing will ever bring those lost things back into her life…

Damian, son to Lucifer, has renounced his right to the throne of Hell and has become a soldier for Adversus, hunting evil supernatural creatures on Earth. Unfortunately, he’s powerless to witches, and this witch can read his mind. He can’t decide what is more dangerous—the irresistible attraction he feels for her, or the intoxicating peace she gives him. One thing is certain, they both share a tortured past.

After Damian rescues her from an attack by monstrous djinn, Haley discovers the dangerously seductive soldier has secrets of his own. One of them is the collection of whips, ropes, handcuffs, and a leather riding crop he keeps locked away, though he refuses to show her his “Master” side. But when her trust in him grows, she finds herself increasingly intrigued by all the kinky things he’s hiding. But Damian has been given a new mission to kill a monster. A monster that turns out to be her uncle…

Damian abruptly woke on the couch in the darkened living room with the sense he was being watched. He furrowed his brows at the dangerous witch in front of him, scarcely able to make out her hourglass figure in the sliver of sunlight from a gap in the curtain.

“What are you doing?” Lowering his arm to his side, he sat upright.

“Oh, I’m sorry.” Haley’s gaze darted downward. “I was…” He tried to probe her mind, and she promptly pushed him out, forming an invisible shield around her thoughts. “I was looking for Adam.” She cleared her throat lightly.

Panicked by her unknown intentions as his eyes adjusted to the low light in the room, he pinpointed his gaze on her. A blur of white and black polka dotted silk, awkwardly standing with her face turned away from him. Her neckline plunged deeply, brought up to tie in a silky bow behind her slender neck, accentuating her bare shoulders.

“He’s in the library.” Surprised at how soft his own voice sounded, Damian suddenly felt an intense urge to pull at the ribbon until it slid down her perky breasts.

“Oh, alright, thank you.” Her eyes wandered nervously. “I wasn’t…um…watching you.”

He raised an eyebrow as her creamy complexion turned pink.

“Adam, I mean, Aimee said Adam was in here, so…” The girl could barely breathe.

Shameful self-loathing tore through him as he recalled her tear-filled eyes, their bright blue depths staring up at him from Raden’s table.

She rushed to the doorway, a black tulle slip under the hem of her dress swaying at her sexy thighs. With a sudden ache in his groin, he caught a peek at the red soles on her black high heels. Her ponytail bounced as she hurried away from him. He imagined how she would look perched on his lap without any clothes on.

Forcefully eliminating that thought from his mind, he stood, cracking his neck back and forth, and headed into the sun-soaked hallway. She’s a goddamn witch, what are you thinking? He happened to be oddly vulnerable to their magic, rendered completely powerless, and tended to harbor an automatic hatred for them. If this beautiful witch was, in fact, planning any kind of vengeance toward him, he’d be royally fucked. Not to mention, she’s Adam and Stephen’s little sister. That’s gotta be some kind of guy code violation.

Walking into an empty bathroom, he undressed to take a shower and found his cock standing firmly at attention. He rolled his eyes. Even if you did want her, I’m sure she fucking hates you. You let her get tortured while you sat inches away. Leave her the fuck alone.

He scrubbed himself hard in the shower, trying to rid his mind of her, but was still achingly swollen between his legs. His thoughts drifted to what she’d looked like sleeping next to him the day before, perfect pink nipples barely showing through her lacy white top in just the right light, those sexy fuck-me heels with the red soles as she walked away. He’d never experienced such a strong attraction to anyone before, and it was insanely distracting, especially since she was entirely off-limits to him.

Lowering his head in frustration, he let the water wash over him for a moment. Just thinking about her couldn’t hurt anything. He moved his hand to his pulsing cock and began to stroke it.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

First, who are your favorite authors? What do you like about them?

I really love River Savage’s men. They’re total alphas, and they have really dirty mouths. She’s great at tossing you right into the story. My favorite erotica author is Anne Rice, writing as A.N. Roquelaure, the Claiming of Sleeping Beauty quartet. Those books are wild and dirty. I also really enjoyed the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer.

Are you reading a book now? Which one?

I’m reading two ARC’s right now, Shadows by Amber Lacie and Degrees of Control by Eve Dangerfield, both are fun and sexy. I read them whenever I need to take a break from writing, and they are both really great so far.

What are you passionate about?

I love to write. When I’m in the writing zone, I feel like a complete person. Lately, I’ve taken an interest in cooking for my family (my man and our toddler boy). At least one home-cooked meal per day. I’m having a lot of fun with that. Our little boy eats up the meals I make a mistake with and doesn’t like the ones that I think come out like perfection.

What does a perfect day look like for you?

If it’s a writing day, complete solitude and dark, rainy weather. I live in WA, and I love that weather. For just a regular day, I love preparing for a big event, whether it’s a fun party with our friends, or a vacation. I like getting up early when I have something to look forward to that day and marking things off the to-do list.

Is Paramour for the Devil a standalone story? What can your readers look forward to next?

It is actually the first book in the Hawthorne Witches series. I’m working on the sequel, Seducing the Devil, right now. The third and fourth books are about Haley’s cousins, Emily and Cassie. They both fall in love with very dark supernatural men. I also have plans for novellas (or possibly full-length novels) for Haley’s brothers, Adam and Stephen. And I just completed a novella called Unchained Love that should release by Christmas 2016. That one is about a wealthy girl whose father is running an underground fighting ring, and she comes across his newest prize fighter chained in the wine cellar. It’s an erotic, violent holiday-themed story.

How do you feel about your characters in Paramour for the Devil? Do you think you’d get along with them? Would Damian be able to steal your heart?

Haley has a lot of respect for other females. She’s passive by nature, but can be a total badass when she has to be, and she has two really fun best friends. I’d love to hang out with them. As for Damian, oh yes, I think he’s so dreamy. He’s definitely a bad boy, but he’s got a vulnerable side underneath. He’s also really kinky, I love that.

What inspired you to write this story?

I dreamed up the Damian character after watching many hours of Supernatural in my early twenties. Originally, I planned to write a sweet romantic comedy, and then I decided to tap into this fantasy I had for years about Damian, the son of Satan, joining the good guys and hunting evil creatures. I threw out my embarrassment about my friends/family knowing I was writing an erotic novel and chose to just go for it.

Do you have a favorite scene in the book? Why does it spark your interest?

I really love the BDSM scene toward the end of the book. Damian shows his “Master” side, and I think it’s hot as hell. He uses his supernatural powers in combination with a riding crop. I’m excited to explore more of his Dominant side in the sequel and venture a little deeper into BDSM for Haley and Damian’s sex life.

What type of scenes do you consider the most fun to write?

I love them all. I attempted to write many novels before this one (beginning in sixth grade) and I got bored easily, abandoning the book if I hit a boring scene. Then I decided that if the story bored me to write it, it would bore the readers too. I wanted this book to be a wild ride. That’s my goal for all of my upcoming projects as well.

If Paramour for the Devil is adapted to film, which actress/actor would you envision for Haley and Damian?

I’d picture Danneel Ackles with bright blue eyes for Haley. For Damian, that is tough. I don’t think I’ve seen an actor that looks just like him. Maybe the guy from Avatar if he had iridescent green eyes. Even then, I don’t think he looks quite like him.

Is your own personality reflected in any of your characters?

Yes, a lot of the dialogue between Haley and her girlfriends, and between Haley and Damian (minus most of the dirty talk) are from actual conversations I’ve had with friends or with my man.

Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

If I had any advice to give, it would be to write what you genuinely love and power through your fears. Hard work and perseverance will always produce great results.

Is there anything specific you want to say to your readers?

THANK YOU for reading. 🙂

A monster that turns out to be her uncle…

Haley’s fingers moved automatically, stumbling only slightly over the same heavy melodies she’d once played obsessively for hours. The bedroom door opened, and Damian walked into the room, breaking her reverie.

“Oh, hi.” He stared at her in surprise, holding a towel low around his waist, and Haley caught herself gaping at the defined muscles of his upper body, adorned with scars. “I didn’t know you were in here, I’m just gonna grab some clothes.”

His half naked body had her heart beating erratically in her chest, and Haley tried not to look at him as he pulled open a dresser drawer. She suddenly realized he was reaching for his own clothes. “Is…is this your room?”

“Yeah.” He retrieved a stack of folded clothes from the drawer. “You can stay in here though, I’ll sleep somewhere else.”

“I’m so sor—” Haley abruptly stopped speaking as he casually took off the towel, and she let out a barely audible gasp. Turning away from him, she brought her hand to cover her eyes. “I’m…I can go…”

Her pulse raced at the sound of rustling cotton as he dressed a few feet away from her.

“You play guitar?”

“Uh…no, not really… I mean… I don’t play well.” She kept her eyes hidden from him with one hand while she loosely held the neck of the guitar with the other, aware that her dress had hiked up around her hips in her cross-legged position.

“You can look now.”

She opened her eyes as he sat next to her, wearing a white T-shirt over gray sweatpants. “I thought it sounded really good.”

Looking down at the beautiful instrument in her lap, recognition sparked. “Is this yours?”

With a nod, he got up to pull her red guitar from the wall. “When did you learn how to play?”

“When I was younger,” she nervously held his shiny blue Les Paul, unsure where to put her hands, “but I got a little obsessed with it when I stayed in here for a few months.”

Damian sat down with hers and started tuning it. “So this is your room…” He concentrated on the strings in his hand. “And this is your guitar?”

“Red Velvet.” She nodded, trying to keep her breathing even.

“You named your guitar?” He smiled at her.

Haley relaxed a little as he tuned the strings. “I was very close with it for a while.” She took a steadying breath. “It kind of felt like therapy.”

“That was after you escaped?”

“Yes.” She lowered her gaze.

“I actually took this room because it had an amp in it.” Damian mindlessly played a slow melody on her guitar.

“When did you start playing?” The sound sent a tingling warmth through her, and she found herself staring at his fingers as they expertly moved along the strings.

“When I was a kid. It came naturally to me.”

Her focus dimmed at the powerful chords. “So…you were a kid…at one time…”

He nodded. “I’ve aged normally so far, like a human, but eventually I’ll stop aging.”

“How old are you?”

“Thirty-two.” He cast his gaze downward.

Haley looked thoughtfully at the bedspread, listening to the haunting music. “I’m twenty-seven.” She volunteered the information. “I feel like I’m eighty, I never go out anywhere.” Her gaze flickered to him. “Are you really only thirty-two?”

He seemed surprised by her remark and looked back down to the strings. “It’s a lot older than you.”

“You’re immortal.” She gave him a half-smile. “You could be thousands of years old.”

25 Fun Facts:

1) Savannah Hill is a pen name, but when my man, Forrest Hill, and I tie the knot, it will become my legal name. My mom named me Savannah after a character on Days of Our Lives.

2) I took a break halfway through writing Paramour for the Devil and wrote the first half of the sequel, Seducing the Devil, before going back to finish the first book.

3) My father owns a classic Chevelle, the same muscle car my character Damian drives.

4) I set out to write a romantic comedy that could star Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan if it was adapted to film… though sweet romantic love remains at the very heart of the story, the book took it’s own turn down a very dark, erotic, violent path as I wrote it.

5) I’ve always pictured Danneel Ackles as my perfect Haley, but with bright blue eyes. I recently found out she’s married to Jensen Ackles, I wouldn’t mind having his sexy ass play the role of Damian.

6) I listened to Tool’s album Lateralus for several hours while imagining up the third book in the Hawthorne Witches series.

7) The fourth book in the Hawthorne Witches series is my absolute favorite, Haley’s cousin, Cassie’s story. She’s a bit of a party girl but has some awful things happen to her and falls for Damian’s evil brother Roman, the reigning dark lord in Hell.

8) Haley and Damian bond a little over their mutual interest in Lord of the Rings. After writing the scene where they watch the movies, I had an LOTR/Hobbit movie marathon with my man.

9) When writing the sequel, Seducing the Devil, I researched Lucifer’s appearance by reading through passages that describe him in the Bible. He has a giant wingspan and lizard-like eyes.

10) Originally, I wanted to name the U.S. government agency that Damian works for “Aegis”, but upon doing a little research, I discovered that is actually the name of a real government defense company. I went with Adversus instead.

11) The idea for the book came to me one summer morning when I drove home from my friend’s house the morning after a party, completely hungover. I wrote the first chapter that day. (And watched Kill Bill volumes 1 & 2 out of order, just like they do in the story.)

12) I dreamed up Damian (the son of Satan) several years ago in my early twenties after watching hours upon hours of Supernatural. I pictured his car in my mind and had to do a little research to realize I was imagining a Chevelle Supersport. Then my father bought a Chevelle many years later, it’s apparently always been his dream car.

13) The movie The Raid 2 somehow inspired many aspects of the story for Paramour for the Devil, especially Hawthorne Tower, the accounting firm where Haley works.

14) The Hawthorne’s house in Seattle they call “the Castle” was inspired by an actual home I lived in, located in the Montlake neighborhood of Seattle. It had a strange castle-like feel to it, and the floors/staircases were just slightly slanted from an earthquake. We called it the “Crooked Castle”.

15) Deleted scenes from the book are available on my website: http://www.savannahhillromance.com.

16) My man claims he is the inspiration for the character, Neil (Haley’s annoying ex-boyfriend), when in reality, several of Damian’s characteristics and even some exact quotes, are directly based on my man’s personality.

17) I dreamed up most of the plot for Paramour for the Devil during daily running sessions. The monotonous cardio provided a perfect escape for me.

18) Haley’s cousin (and best friend), Ginger, is a mixture of my two best friends, Breanna and A.B.

19) I started writing romance in 6th grade, swapping stories written on notebook paper with my group of girlfriends at the time. I definitely enjoyed the writing part more than they did, and I started to get the idea that it was my real passion.

20) I stayed up writing all night at times, and when I re-read some of the scenes, I didn’t remember writing them at all. This was the case for the scene describing Haley’s escape from Hell.

21) My obsession with romance began with Disney, specifically Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. Now I get to watch them constantly with my toddler boy and experience them in a new way as a mother.

22) Just like Damian, my man plays guitar. I fell for him right away when he played Led Zeppelin’s “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You” for me on our first date. For our anniversary, he bought me a beautiful red bass guitar that I named Red Velvet, which is what Haley names her electric guitar.

23) A lot of writers do their best work when they’re drunk, I can’t even focus on the screen after one beer. However, marijuana is legal in Washington state, and I definitely found some inspiration with a strain called golden pineapple.

24) I write on my laptop in my bed, and, after doing something very silly and setting my hot flat-iron on my keyboard, the “F” key melted off. I wrote the entire book without an “F” key, just pressing the little tiny knob. Works like a charm.

25) I work from home as an administrative assistant for a medical marijuana clinic, and I wrote quite a bit of Paramour for the Devil between productivity reports while on the clock.
