It would seem that with every book in this series my favorite leading man changes!!! 😉😈

Egan & Sofia’s story was completely engaging and I was hooked on them as a couple even before The Specialist was released!!

This man knew who he had feeling for and didn’t fight them – even when it seemed as if Sofia might not be on board with his way of thinking!!

I loved that we caught up with all of the guys from HJ and that they were as involved as always.

Some intrigue, action, a lot of HJ talent and a whole heap of heat had me wanting this book to go on and I really wasn’t looking forward to it ending – even though I wanted to find out what was gonna happen with our leading couple!

Melanie has taken us on a journey with this series and it’s been a lot of fun so while I’m kinda sad it’s finished I cannot wait to see what Ms Moreland has for us next!!!!

Recommended read. A solid 4.75*

I though Stefano was great after reading his book but once I was finished Shifting Gears, Brett is definitely up there as probably my favourite of the Reynolds Restoration guys.

My heart hurt for Brett for how he felt every time Kelly left and now that he hadn’t seen her for a while and was trying to get over her I started out not sure I wanted them to get together.

He’s a great main character. Part of the family of choice that Max and Charley have surrounded themselves with, he was loyal, protective, hard working and had a great heart. I totally understood why he felt the need to distance himself from Kelly when she returned but then he learned about her past, how she grew up and what brought her back to town and all bets were off…..

Kelly…. To be honest I wasn’t her biggest fan when we met her previously in the series and I’d have been ok with Brett staying away from her (then there wouldn’t have been a story I suppose!!) but when we actually got a glimpse of the ‘real her’ under the façade she hid behind I fell for her nearly as much as I did for Brett. There was a lot of strength to her character but the gods, she was so independent, closed off and such a stubborn woman at times that asking for help was not something she did easily. When she finally did it was like she fully saw what she had been missing or avoiding…. and for that I was glad.

This pair were perfect together. They had such a connection and spark but that aside Brett was the support and strength that let Kelly just ‘be’… For him, Kelly was the future, if he could get her to stay in one place for any length of time.

I loved the family dynamics in this story. Seeing Brett and his dad together, then you add in Stefano and his family, Maxx and Charley and their gang it was great to see just what support and love
Kelly and Brett had surrounding them. We got a little glimpse at who’s gonna be falling next and lordy that was a funny initial meeting.

Melanie Moreland is an auto-buy author for me and the Reynolds Restoration series is a definite favourite of mine.

An all round 5* read that I’d recommend checking out.

Stefano Borelli was quite something… the talented mechanic was a truly great character and I so wanted him to find his happy ever after, especially when he watched his boss and saw how happy and settled he was.

Dependable, loyal, protective and family oriented, Stefano was perfect for Gabby. His reaction to her on their first meeting was twofold…. He was happy to help a strangers, as that was just who he was, but it was the spark that lit inside him and the fact he couldn’t stop thinking about her that made him realise she was gonna be important.

I understood her hesitation when it came to the idea that he was interested in her, especially when we discovered where her concerns stemmed from, but all I wished for was her to see that this guy was exactly what he showed her and for her to take a little leap of faith when it came to him. The fact that she was a single mom, with an absolutely adorable little boy definitely added to her hesitation but Theo had no such reservations when it came to the big mechanic and I adored how open and happy he was when it came to Stefano and the rest of the guys at Reynolds Restorations.

I loved the development of their relationship, even when things weren’t quite working out to Stefano’s plans. Having a family, of both blood and choice who were there to help him sort through his feelings and take care of Gabby and Theo kept him from giving up hope when the determined woman thought she was doing the right thing……..

Catching up with Charley and Maxx, meeting the Borelli family (especially Stefano’s mom) and finding out there seems to be something going on between Brett and Charley’s friend rounded out the story so well.

Breaking The Speed Limit was a great read and I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series.
