They say to never meet your heroes… but what’s the rule on falling in love with them?
Raven Winters has been infatuated with Nicholas Potter since the day she tacked his poster to her bedroom wall. So, when she discovered the famous drummer was her college roommate’s cousin, it seemed the stars had aligned.
Their attraction was instant, and their chemistry explosive. Unfortunately, Nick wasn’t ready to abandon his rock star lifestyle.
Over the years, she’s become his best friend—with benefits—and favorite source of telephonic relief when the groupies backstage weren’t quite what he was looking for. Those late-night drunken calls kept her holding onto hope.
Well, all that patience is about to pay off—why else would he invite her to join him on tour, if not to finally confess his feelings?
Too bad, the universe has other plans. It looks like drummer boy’s reckless lifestyle has finally caught up to him—and Raven’s the one stuck toting the diaper bag.
“I guess congratulations are in order, huh?” “Please don’t do this,” I beg, ripping my hands through my hair. “Don’t act like any of this is okay, because it’s not.” “What would you have me do instead?” she asks, stilling my hands with her own. “Rage? Scream?” She snorts. “Cry?” “If that’s what you feel you need to do.” She shakes her head, rolling her glistening eyes. “Don’t you think that’s a little extreme of a reaction for a friend to have when her bestie learns he’s just become a daddy?”

Doppelbanger; A person who bangs someone solely because they look similar to another person they want to bang.
At thirty-five, Gina Bourque is still playing the field. If he’s single, in his early twenties with dark hair and brooding eyes, there’s a damn good chance you’ll find him in her little black book.

When Gina and Jeffrey meet while cruising the Caribbean, sparks fly and not in a good way. He’s too old. Too blond. Too stiff. Yet she’s still drawn to him like a moth to a flame. She’s too vulgar. Too sassy. Too wild. But she ignites something inside of him he can’t ignore.
We all know what happens when you play with fire. . . someone’s bound to get burned.

Boomerangers [boo-muh-rang-ers] noun, informal: an adult that moves back home to live with a parent after a period of independence.
Spencer
I love sex. I love the power, the intimacy, the euphoria it brings. Too bad I’m not having any . . . You’d think as New Orleans’ most renowned sex therapist that I’d be swimming in single men. In a way, I am . . . except for the fact that one is in diapers and the other two are drowning in preteen hormones. As a single mother of three, my days are devoted to my clients and my kids, and my nights are spent with Fabio, my trusty vibrator. When my world begins to unravel, I have no choice but to move back home. And when my high school sweetheart comes waltzing back into my life, comedy and chaos ensue.
What can I say? I never said I could pick ’em, but you can bet your ass I know how to fix ’em.
Cooper
As soon as the ink dried on my divorce papers, I made myself a solemn vow: I was done with relationships. Moving home to take over my father’s firm was the plan, until Spencer decided to return, along with three souvenirs from the life she’s lived without me.
I’ve been in love with the girl next door for nearly all of my life; the rest was spent trying to forget her. I’d give almost anything for a second chance with her, but I have no time for distractions—especially the kind that involve diapers, bottles, and eighteen-year commitments.
The problem is, she’s already got me by the balls . . . and I’m beginning to feel the noose tightening around my heart.
I really enjoyed Boomerangers. I do love a 2nd chance story, though at times I thought Cooper was gonna blow any shot he had at another relationship with Spencer.
Spencer’s boys were fab, especially Kyle (aka Savage) and I loved that they were a big part of the story. She had been a single mum for years but she did a good job with them – the only issue I had with her at points was her inability (or unwillingness, I was never sure what it was exactly) to accept help with them. Cooper’s initial reaction to them had me wanting to hit him but when we heard why he felt the way he did to begin with it was sorta understandable that he felt they way he did…
This pair were smokin’ hot together and the attraction and strength of feelings was still there even after 15 years apart – there was just the small matter of Spence not trusting the opposite sex (which given her track record and history with Coop was totally understandable!)
I have to say that the storyline was as much about Cooper’s relationship with Lake, Landon and Savage as it was with Spencer and tbh, that just endeared me all the more.
The story was engaging, had a lot of humour, there was a little angst and a fair amount of feels. The supporting characters were fun – Gina was a great best friend and I especially liked his folks and Spencer’s mum.. damned interfering parents, but in the best of ways!!
A good read that I would happily recommend. I’m giving Boomerangers 4 stars.
