Walking into Crystal Ball made me incredibly self-conscious. I felt fat, frumpy and old next to the sleek, glittered-up, goddesses performing for the intimate afternoon crowd. Rock at the bar with his back to the stage, which surprised me. When our eyes met, he slid from his stool to greet me. He looked me over in a way that both pissed me off and turned my knees to jelly. Seconds of awkward silence stretched between us before he shifted back to the bar.
“Find Bricks and have him meet me in the office,” he shouted over the pulsing music.
When he turned back to me, focusing his searing gray eyes on me, I had to bite down on my lower lip to stop it from quivering. This attraction was getting ridiculous.
He held two bottles of water in one hand and motioned me toward the back of the club with the other. The uncomfortable warmth of his hand at the small of my back unnerved me as we maneuvered through the narrow hallway. We stopped at a blank door. No nameplate, or signage indicated what it was and Rock withdrew a key from his pocket. Opening the door he ushered me inside, closing it behind us.
“You’re really rocking the naughty librarian thing, Ms. Kendall.”
Of all the things I expected he might say, that never crossed my mind.
“What?”
He gestured to one of the chairs in front of the large oak desk, before settling himself behind it. “Sit.”
I sat, but I wasn’t happy about it.
“This.” He gestured to my hair, then trailed his finger in the air down lower. I shivered, imagining those fingers tracing over my body in the same way. He must have noticed because one corner of his mouth quirked up in a knowing smile. “This,” he said again, “is hot.”
“You’ve got a roomful of naked women out there, but sweater cardigans and wool pants turn you on?” I winced at the words I’d chosen.
His sharp laughter echoed around us in the small room. “Yeah, doll. Though I’ll admit the turtle neck is overkill.”

In addition to writing, Autumn runs her own business from home. A big fan of horror movies and spooky books, it wasn’t until recently she realized all the tales she writes need to include a hunky hero and a happily ever after.
When she’s not writing, she spends time listening to music, going to concerts, reading, acting, and collecting nail polish. While those things are fun, Autumn is happiest sitting in front of her computer into the wee hours of the night, weaving stories the characters in her head whisper to her.

Crazy woman living in an undisclosed location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since …, forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball – I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I’m clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.
I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there’s your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair – both a curse and a blessing – and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can’t understand me.
Yeah. I think that about sums me up.

Jameson hadn’t seen how it had started, just how it had ended. When he’d walked into Sanders’ room and saw a man in a suit bent over Tatum, he had thought it was actually Sanders himself, at first. Talk about upsetting. Sanders was like a son to Jameson, he didn’t want to have to kill him.
But it wasn’t Sanders. It was Dunn, Jameson’s business partner there in Boston. A man Jameson had gone to school with, a man he had known for a long time. Dunn knew that Tate was off limits. Tate knew that Jameson didn’t want her to sleep with any of his friends or colleagues. Breaking rules was apparently par for the course that night. Jameson had wanted to murder them both, but he’d settled for beating the shit out of Dunn, and then kicking Tatum out of the house. He hadn’t bothered to look in the bathroom. He never bothered to look at anything, ever. He didn’t have to – he didn’t care. Right? Right?
She had bled. How could I not notice that she was bleeding? Even I never made her bleed.
Jameson pressed his back against the door, then slid in to a sitting position. Put his head in his hands. He was a Yale graduate. He owned multiple businesses, in multiple countries. He played the stock market like he’d invented it, and owned real estate so pricey, even Donald Trump was interested. He was considered by many to be a very smart, calculating man.
But suddenly he felt very stupid. Brought down by a woman with black hair and dark eyes. A sexy wit and a sexier body. A bartender, coupon clipper, temp worker. A college drop out turned party girl, with loose morals and legs that rarely closed.
So much better than him, in every way, shape, and form.Her only downside was thinking she could use sex as a weapon. She’d always been too naive to realize that sometimes, weapons could backfire.
It had certainly backfired on him.

WHY?
Because it`s only 80 pages long (67 estimated according to Amazon!). The first instalment of 6 to be released between now and October 21st ~ the full box set will be available from October 28th.
It’s totally my personal preference but I dislike when they are published like this and would rather wait for the full book than purchase episodes so short. This decision is partly because as an avid fast reader a short 80 pages is devoured on a coffee break, a quick caffeine fix and boom, finished! I can usually never get invested in the characters that fast and just end up frustrated and disappointed therefore less than 200 pages rarely gets a one click off me.
However, no matter if your choice is to wait for all 6 or purchase each episode as it is published, I would totally recommend this one to all the shifter paranormal lovers out there, for a debut author this start is a really good sign of things to come and I’m pleased I didn’t miss out. Her writing was engaging – such that even in just 80 pages I did get involved in the characters, the plot and the world she is creating.

This is a new spin on shifter worlds and while a little complicated to start the author has laid a good groundwork for the development of this story.

Mia has never been open about the fact she is a shifter and having had no involvement with a pack knows nothing of pack life, its rules and way of working. But her inner wolf is drawn to Lucas, he’s her first close encounter and she’d like it to be closer!
“Lucas is a broken alpha, a wolf who lost his mate, his pack, and almost himself — he wasn’t looking to rescue a girl or start a pack war. But now he has to keep her safe or it won’t just be her life, but his whole family at risk… only his inner wolf can’t seem to keep its paws off a girl who has secrets of her own.”
Lucas has had a tortured time and is not looking for a relationship, brief hook ups only. The feelings Mia arouses in him confuse him, especially as he believes her to be human.
This first episode of Lucas and Mia’s story has romance, protective strong Alpha shifter and a nicely different take on the usual shifter worlds. As a debut it’s a strong one with a descriptive writing style I liked, I would love to continue the story and see where it goes. There is a major cliffy but as #2 is already available don’t let this put you off – just decide which way to buy it, in 6 instalments or as a complete box set.
As a parawhore with a definite preference for shifter books it’s exciting to have a new author to watch out for……….
