Excerpt

“You didn’t give me what I want either, so now I’m going to take from you what I want even more.” His tongue dips out to wet his lips, and he bites the bottom one for just a second. For some reason, my eyes zoom in on it, and they forget for just a second what’s going on here.

“You’ll like it … don’t worry,” he muses, stepping even closer so he can smell me.

I turn my head to the side while he sniffs me, trying to lean away, but it seems it only makes him come closer. He places a soft kiss on my neck, his tongue drawing a line upward toward my ear. Right before he nibbles my ear, he hovers in front of it, and for a second, I think I can hear him smile.

He hisses, “I love your smell. Your taste. They make me so fucking hard.”

Suddenly, his hand is on my breast, kneading, tugging, and twisting. Everything and anywhere, all at the same time. Sensory overload makes me gasp, and when my mouth opens, he covers it with his. He takes my breath quite literally, kissing me until my moan is silenced, kissing me with everything he has. His taste is familiar, intoxicating, and for a second, I forget that I’m even hanging here. His tongue expertly licks the roof of my mouth, his lips brushing mine with equal fervor.

“This is what I’ll take from you,” he murmurs into my mouth.

His free hand slides down my body and past my inner thighs, pushing my legs apart as he starts rubbing me. I feel humiliated. Used. Shameful, for actually feeling my pussy thump from having him touch me.

“Hmm … you like it when I touch you.” It’s not even a question.

“No …” I say, shaking my head.

He grins. “Yes, you do.” He pushes a finger on top of my clit. “Right here.”

I moan when he rubs it with his index finger and then brings his thumb into the play to roll my clit. Wetness is building inside me as my core clenches, desperate to fight off the arousal, but my body is a fool for his touch.

My mind has been deprived for too long, and when he offers me this release, I’m too weak to fight it. It crosses my mind that perhaps, if I give this to him, he’ll be more gentle with me. Maybe, if I give him anything he wants, he’ll let me go.

It might be a futile thought, but it’s here, and it’s not going anywhere.

“Don’t think I’m doing this for your pleasure, Sky.” He groans. “Oh, no. I’m doing this because I want to watch you writhe from my finger.”

Still twisting and pulling my nipples with one hand, he’s driving me crazy with lust, as the other expertly builds the desire between my legs.

“I’m going to watch you come, and you’re going to enjoy it, and then hate yourself for liking it. And tomorrow, we’ll do the same thing. And then again … and again …”

“Stop …” I moan.

Who am I kidding? He’s not going to, and I’m not even sure I want him to stop anymore.

He’s got me under a spell, and I’m helpless to fight it.

RELEASE TOUR ~ Paramour by the Devil by Savannah Hill.

PARAMOUR FOR THE DEVIL

AUTHOR: Savannah Hill
GENRE: Paranormal Erotic Romance

Darkly erotic. Supremely powerful.

Haley Hawthorne is a witch. She shuns her paranormal gifts, instead escaping into a mundane, reclusive life as an accountant for her Uncle Eli’s firm. Five years earlier, Haley was kidnapped by Raden, brother of Lucifer, and held captive as his personal sex slave. She escaped but still bears the scars, both physical and emotional. Now she’s turned away from both magic and sex, and she’s certain nothing will ever bring those lost things back into her life…

Damian, son to Lucifer, has renounced his right to the throne of Hell and has become a soldier for Adversus, hunting evil supernatural creatures on Earth. Unfortunately, he’s powerless to witches, and this witch can read his mind. He can’t decide what is more dangerous—the irresistible attraction he feels for her, or the intoxicating peace she gives him. One thing is certain, they both share a tortured past.

After Damian rescues her from an attack by monstrous djinn, Haley discovers the dangerously seductive soldier has secrets of his own. One of them is the collection of whips, ropes, handcuffs, and a leather riding crop he keeps locked away, though he refuses to show her his “Master” side. But when her trust in him grows, she finds herself increasingly intrigued by all the kinky things he’s hiding. But Damian has been given a new mission to kill a monster. A monster that turns out to be her uncle…

Haley’s fingers moved automatically, stumbling only slightly over the same heavy melodies she’d once played obsessively for hours. The bedroom door opened, and Damian walked into the room, breaking her reverie.

“Oh, hi.” He stared at her in surprise, holding a towel low around his waist, and Haley caught herself gaping at the defined muscles of his upper body, adorned with scars. “I didn’t know you were in here, I’m just gonna grab some clothes.”

His half naked body had her heart beating erratically in her chest, and Haley tried not to look at him as he pulled open a dresser drawer. She suddenly realized he was reaching for his own clothes. “Is…is this your room?”

“Yeah.” He retrieved a stack of folded clothes from the drawer. “You can stay in here though, I’ll sleep somewhere else.”

“I’m so sor—” Haley abruptly stopped speaking as he casually took off the towel, and she let out a barely audible gasp. Turning away from him, she brought her hand to cover her eyes. “I’m…I can go…”

Her pulse raced at the sound of rustling cotton as he dressed a few feet away from her.

“You play guitar?”

“Uh…no, not really… I mean… I don’t play well.” She kept her eyes hidden from him with one hand while she loosely held the neck of the guitar with the other, aware that her dress had hiked up around her hips in her cross-legged position.

“You can look now.”

She opened her eyes as he sat next to her, wearing a white T-shirt over gray sweatpants. “I thought it sounded really good.”

Looking down at the beautiful instrument in her lap, recognition sparked. “Is this yours?”

With a nod, he got up to pull her red guitar from the wall. “When did you learn how to play?”

“When I was younger,” she nervously held his shiny blue Les Paul, unsure where to put her hands, “but I got a little obsessed with it when I stayed in here for a few months.”

Damian sat down with hers and started tuning it. “So this is your room…” He concentrated on the strings in his hand. “And this is your guitar?”

“Red Velvet.” She nodded, trying to keep her breathing even.

“You named your guitar?” He smiled at her.

Haley relaxed a little as he tuned the strings. “I was very close with it for a while.” She took a steadying breath. “It kind of felt like therapy.”

“That was after you escaped?”

“Yes.” She lowered her gaze.

“I actually took this room because it had an amp in it.” Damian mindlessly played a slow melody on her guitar.

“When did you start playing?” The sound sent a tingling warmth through her, and she found herself staring at his fingers as they expertly moved along the strings.

“When I was a kid. It came naturally to me.”

Her focus dimmed at the powerful chords. “So…you were a kid…at one time…”

He nodded. “I’ve aged normally so far, like a human, but eventually I’ll stop aging.”

“How old are you?”

“Thirty-two.” He cast his gaze downward.

Haley looked thoughtfully at the bedspread, listening to the haunting music. “I’m twenty-seven.” She volunteered the information. “I feel like I’m eighty, I never go out anywhere.” Her gaze flickered to him. “Are you really only thirty-two?”

He seemed surprised by her remark and looked back down to the strings. “It’s a lot older than you.”

“You’re immortal.” She gave him a half-smile. “You could be thousands of years old.”

Savannah Hill is an erotic romance novelist diligently working to create a world that readers can truly experience and enjoy along with her. Captivated by romance at a very young age, she began writing love stories in grade school, always imagining new scenarios and characters. Addicted to her passion, her first novel, Paramour for the Devil, is the story that invaded her dreams until the final chapter was written. She is currently writing the sequel to Paramour, Seducing the Devil.

She lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her man, the love of her life, and spends her days chasing their toddler boy who loves to giggle.

25 Fun Facts:

1) Savannah Hill is a pen name, but when my man, Forrest Hill, and I tie the knot, it will become my legal name. My mom named me Savannah after a character on Days of Our Lives.

2) I took a break halfway through writing Paramour for the Devil and wrote the first half of the sequel, Seducing the Devil, before going back to finish the first book.

3) My father owns a classic Chevelle, the same muscle car my character Damian drives.

4) I set out to write a romantic comedy that could star Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan if it was adapted to film… though sweet romantic love remains at the very heart of the story, the book took it’s own turn down a very dark, erotic, violent path as I wrote it.

5) I’ve always pictured Danneel Ackles as my perfect Haley, but with bright blue eyes. I recently found out she’s married to Jensen Ackles, I wouldn’t mind having his sexy ass play the role of Damian.

6) I listened to Tool’s album Lateralus for several hours while imagining up the third book in the Hawthorne Witches series.

7) The fourth book in the Hawthorne Witches series is my absolute favorite, Haley’s cousin, Cassie’s story. She’s a bit of a party girl but has some awful things happen to her and falls for Damian’s evil brother Roman, the reigning dark lord in Hell.

8) Haley and Damian bond a little over their mutual interest in Lord of the Rings. After writing the scene where they watch the movies, I had an LOTR/Hobbit movie marathon with my man.

9) When writing the sequel, Seducing the Devil, I researched Lucifer’s appearance by reading through passages that describe him in the Bible. He has a giant wingspan and lizard-like eyes.

10) Originally, I wanted to name the U.S. government agency that Damian works for “Aegis”, but upon doing a little research, I discovered that is actually the name of a real government defense company. I went with Adversus instead.

11) The idea for the book came to me one summer morning when I drove home from my friend’s house the morning after a party, completely hungover. I wrote the first chapter that day. (And watched Kill Bill volumes 1 & 2 out of order, just like they do in the story.)

12) I dreamed up Damian (the son of Satan) several years ago in my early twenties after watching hours upon hours of Supernatural. I pictured his car in my mind and had to do a little research to realize I was imagining a Chevelle Supersport. Then my father bought a Chevelle many years later, it’s apparently always been his dream car.

13) The movie The Raid 2 somehow inspired many aspects of the story for Paramour for the Devil, especially Hawthorne Tower, the accounting firm where Haley works.

14) The Hawthorne’s house in Seattle they call “the Castle” was inspired by an actual home I lived in, located in the Montlake neighborhood of Seattle. It had a strange castle-like feel to it, and the floors/staircases were just slightly slanted from an earthquake. We called it the “Crooked Castle”.

15) Deleted scenes from the book are available on my website: http://www.savannahhillromance.com.

16) My man claims he is the inspiration for the character, Neil (Haley’s annoying ex-boyfriend), when in reality, several of Damian’s characteristics and even some exact quotes, are directly based on my man’s personality.

17) I dreamed up most of the plot for Paramour for the Devil during daily running sessions. The monotonous cardio provided a perfect escape for me.

18) Haley’s cousin (and best friend), Ginger, is a mixture of my two best friends, Breanna and A.B.

19) I started writing romance in 6th grade, swapping stories written on notebook paper with my group of girlfriends at the time. I definitely enjoyed the writing part more than they did, and I started to get the idea that it was my real passion.

20) I stayed up writing all night at times, and when I re-read some of the scenes, I didn’t remember writing them at all. This was the case for the scene describing Haley’s escape from Hell.

21) My obsession with romance began with Disney, specifically Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. Now I get to watch them constantly with my toddler boy and experience them in a new way as a mother.

22) Just like Damian, my man plays guitar. I fell for him right away when he played Led Zeppelin’s “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You” for me on our first date. For our anniversary, he bought me a beautiful red bass guitar that I named Red Velvet, which is what Haley names her electric guitar.

23) A lot of writers do their best work when they’re drunk, I can’t even focus on the screen after one beer. However, marijuana is legal in Washington state, and I definitely found some inspiration with a strain called golden pineapple.

24) I write on my laptop in my bed, and, after doing something very silly and setting my hot flat-iron on my keyboard, the “F” key melted off. I wrote the entire book without an “F” key, just pressing the little tiny knob. Works like a charm.

25) I work from home as an administrative assistant for a medical marijuana clinic, and I wrote quite a bit of Paramour for the Devil between productivity reports while on the clock.

Stepping into the building, I carefully maneuver myself through the throngs of people towards the elevator. As I step in, one of the boxes starts to fall from my arms and I quickly lean forward to try to catch it, when all of a sudden the entire contents in my arms start tumbling down. “FUCK.MY.LIFE,” I yell. Can this day get any worse? I have been here for less than an hour and already I’ve made an ass out of myself in front of people I don’t know.

“Here, let me help you,” a sweet sexy voice says. I peek around the boxes and notice a gorgeous guy picking up the contents that are spread out all over the elevator. He’s got dirty-blonde shaggy hair that hangs in a sexy mused manner, blazing brown eyes that remind me of my favorite mocha chocolate latte, tan skin that looks like he should be on a beach in Cali, and a straight angular jaw line that’s clean cut. He is definitely a pretty boy. Wow, who would have known that little old Radford could breed em’ like this, I think to myself. I’m taken aback by that thought just a bit. I mean I haven’t thought about guys in a long time. It’s strange and exciting all at the same time. I really have made a lot of progress these past few years.

“Thanks so much. I’m not sure why I thought I could make it upstairs with all these boxes without an incident. I am so clumsy. I really do appreciate your help. I’m sorry if I inconvenienced you in anyway,” I ramble. What the hell is wrong with me today? It must be the new environment. I typically don’t talk to men I don’t know and I definitely don’t ramble on about nonsense.

Mr. Sweet and Sexy cocks an eyebrow and I see the tilt of a smirk on his lips when he says “Really, it’s fine. I’m glad I was able to help out. Which floor were you headed too? I can help you take up this load to prevent any more accidents” Yep, kill me now. Immediately, I feel my neck start to warm from the flush. I’m sure my skin is glowing crimson red.

“Um, third floor, Room 306, I believe.” Oh. My. God. I just blurted out where I will be living to some random dude because he’s hot, sexy, or showed me a little kindness. What the hell is happening to me? After everything I’ve been through you would think I know not to give out personal tidbits about my life, such as where the hell to find me. I quickly duck my head trying to hide the fact that I feel exposed, because this guy, who I have no idea who he is, now knows where I will lay my head down at night.

“Cool. My cousin is actually in 306, Alexis Nichols. That’s where I was headed. “Actually,” he chuckles “She called me over to help her and her new roommate unload boxes and shit. You must be Chloe?” Sticking out his hand, he smiles a genuine smile with a slight glimmer in his eye. Introducing himself, he says “Drew Nichols.”

Reluctantly, I place my hand in his and introduce myself; “Yes, I’m Chloe; Chloe Evans. It’s good to meet you. So much for a good first impression,” I giggle softly. Did I just giggle? I am way outside of my comfort zone. This has to be my subconscious talking because I, Chloe Evans, do not do shit like this.

BLOG TOUR ~ Fitting The Pieces by Janine Infante Bosco

Fitting the Pieces

The Riverdale Series – Book Three

Janine Infante Bosco

Blog Tour:

You’ve laughed with them. You’ve cried with them. Now it’s time to say goodbye to the Lanza Family, in the final installment of The Riverdale Series.

Luke Lanza is a man who has always done the responsible thing. He has faced a lot of challenging obstacles in his life from raising his daughter on his own, to building a successful business, even being the only viable donor that could save his brother’s life. Knowing this about his brother and knowing that he was going to die, Jake asked him to look after the love of his life. Now Luke is torn between the promise he made to his brother and the pull of something he’s never known before.

“Promise me, I need to hear you say it, Luke.”
Luke swallowed. “I promise I’ll take care of Cara, you don’t have to worry about her.” A tear slipped down his cheek as he finished his vow to his little brother.
Jake smiled slightly and closed his eyes. “I could always count on you.”

Cara Sloane is struggling with the loss of her first love and the power of addiction. Jake had been her rock for so long, with him gone she realizes how broken she is. She doesn’t want to feel anything, least of all the emptiness in her heart.

“I know you’re at peace and I should be thankful for that, but I can’t be. I never realized what a selfish person I was. You were suffering and all I could do was pray for you not to leave me.”

A tragic accident leaves Luke and his family pleading with Cara to change the course of her life. Can Cara face her demons and learn there is life after Jake? Can she learn that she can hold onto to the beautiful memories they made together and still live her life?

“I don’t want to fix her because she’s broken.” He said with his own voice sounding a bit broken. “I want to help her because losing her too isn’t an option.”
Individually they try to heal, together they wonder if they can fit the pieces of their broken lives.

“Dance with me.” He repeated and held out his hand to her.
She laughed. “Luke, you don’t dance.”
“You’re right, I don’t.” He held her gaze, giving her his best charming smile.
“Dance with me Spunky.”
“But…” She stopped, curiosity getting the best of her, she placed her hand in his. “You don’t have to dance with me, Luke.” He ignored her and listened for it, waited for it. The beat started, the music making those who didn’t dance instantly want to. Bailando. That was the name of the Spanish flirty music that filtered the tent. Cara bit her lip as the rhythm of the music overcame her, suddenly she felt the overwhelming urge to let go and just dance with him. She looked at Luke. It wasn’t a slow song, poor guy, he’d do anything to make her smile.
She looked around and noticed they were alone on the dance floor and all eyes were on them. She could feel the stares as she stood still for a moment and just watched him. He placed one hand on her hip, his fingers digging in his eyes were directly on hers as he took one of her hands, bringing it around his neck. She couldn’t tear her eyes from his, noticing that there was something lurking in the depths of those dark brown eyes, something she had never seen before. He took her free hand in his and nudged her feet apart with his.
Strangely, she didn’t know what to do with herself she had been dancing for years but always had taken her lead from Jake. They hadn’t been a couple when they went dancing either, it was just something they did and they did it well. She felt Luke’s leg slide between hers, tried her best to focus, to listen to the music and will her feet to move, but it was Luke who moved first. He gripped her hip tighter and then blew her hair away from her ear as he dipped his head.
“Can’t do it all by myself, Spunky.” He whispered huskily. “Move those hips of yours. Show me what they can do…” Oh my God! Cara felt her cheeks redden and then she was spun under his arm and forced to abide by his demand. Her hips sashayed from side to side as she closed in on him. He moved fluidly, his feet gliding around the wooden floor effortlessly. It was natural or so it seemed to her, as he brought her closer. She tried to focus on the words of the song, finding it damn near impossible. Enrique Inglesias was singing that he couldn’t wait any longer. And by the looks of it, neither could Luke. He spun her under their arms, once, twice, three times before bringing her body close to his. His hips rotated and he thrust them into hers. He was all hard lines and the hardest part of him was pressed against her thigh.
She swallowed and peered at him from under the fringe of her lashes. She bit down on her lip and tried to block out the stares that seemed to be burning right through her. She grabbed onto the tie that hung loosely around his neck and began to move her hips slowly, tantalizingly to the beat of the music. She heard the sharp intake of breath he took and then she turned around, still holding onto his tie as she continued to tease him with her hips. Forgetting herself for a moment and just enjoying him she ground her ass into his crotch, feeling his every desire press against her.
That perfect ass dug right into him, fitting against him perfectly. He forgot about counting steps and just held onto her hips, letting her curves be his guide and together they moved to the sultry beat. He wasn’t a dancer. He may never dance again, but the dance that he was doing with Cara, would be burned into his memory.

Melissa

I’m trapped beneath him, tears filling my eyes, uncertain what all of this means or what happens now. He saw what I am, but he didn’t pull away. He held me down, watching me writhe in agony and desire, as if he knew what was coming.
Oh, god. A wave of dread tightens my stomach at the thought. He knew what was coming. He knows what I am.
His head is down on his forearm, but he’s still inside me. I wait until he finally lifts it, again looking straight into my eyes. He’s so beautifully mouth-watering. Sweat mingles with the rain on his cheek, and a little drop runs down into his beard.
Without having to see, I know my eyes darken. A whimper escapes my chest as the irresistible hunger burns in my throat.
His brow lowers. “You want to drink me?”
My eyes squeeze closed as a flood of fresh tears fills them, spilling out of the corners and down my cheeks. I take a shuddering breath, unable to deny the truth.
“Can you control it?” His voice has changed. The anger is replaced by curiosity.
Opening my eyes slowly, I study his expression, still stern, trying to understand. I don’t answer. I only watch him, my hunger aching in my gums.
His steel eyes hold mine with such determination. “Do what you have to do, but only for a moment.”
I’m confused by his permission, but I’m too weak to resist him. His grip on my wrists relaxes, and I slowly lift my hands to his broad, muscled shoulders, holding his eyes with mine as I carefully rise to lick the little bead of sweat off his cheek.
A noise rumbles in his throat, and inside me his erection returns. My breath picks up as the flavor of him spreads through my mouth. Rising higher, I press my nose against his heated skin, inhaling fresh rainwater mixed with his delicious woodsy man-scent.
I’m on fire. My moan is matched by his low growl as I trace my tongue along the line of his jaw to the ridge of muscle in his neck. I’m acting by instinct, grazing my razor-sharp teeth lightly across his skin, touching him gently with my tongue. His hips begin to move, thrusting again, and I feel the muscles in his shoulders tightening as his orgasm builds.
At last I’ve found it—the place from before, the little pin pricks. Like before, it’s so easy, a knife in warm butter. I penetrate him, and the hot, thick warmth of his life spills into my mouth.
Instantly, we’re plunged into that orgasmic plane, tumbling down the rabbit hole, lost in a whirlpool of giving and taking inexorable ecstasy.
“Fuck!” He groans as he comes inside me, pulsing long and hard, over and over.
My eyes are closed, my mouth attached firmly to his skin as I drown in the tsunami of pleasure, life flowing into me from all sides.
It’s harder to stop this time. I want more of him, more and more of this. He seems unable to pull away as well. He’s still in me, throbbing and gripping my hips so hard, I think they’ll break.
I might have kept going. I might have… but a beacon of light cuts through the quick thud of his heart beating strong in his chest.
STOP! The voice I recognize as mine echoes through my transformed state. It reminds me what I want. I want this man to live. I don’t want to drain his life and doom myself to living alone as a monster. I want to live with him in the light.
It takes all the strength I possess to pull out. I break my seal with a moan of regret, licking my lips to be sure none of him is wasted.
Dropping my head back onto the bed, I close my eyes to savor the sensation of him swirling inside me. Derek… so strong… my fighter… my hunter…
Only like before, the strange, foreign element is back. It burns longer this time before ultimately disappearing into my bloodstream.
It’s not him. It’s something else. What have you done, my hunter?

 Chapter 1

-Nate-

Oh fuck! The bathroom is covered in blood. It’s smeared down the wall and pooled around my mom’s head, where she’s lifelessly lying flat on her face. Fear freezes me. What in the world happened? The shower curtain is ripped down, her bloody hand print is smeared along the side of the tub where she struggled to get herself up.

“Ma,” I yell, finally willing myself to move to her side. I touch her back to wake her and suddenly I’m back in Afghanistan. I push away the images assaulting me that I have worked so hard to suppress. But still, before my eyes is a wounded soldier, shot, bloody, and hanging on to life. God dammit, stop! This is my mom, not that place. I’m scared to move her and know better than to even try. My worst fear in this world is something happening to her. Moving my trembling hands to shake her a little more, I’m about to lose it. I don’t want to hurt her, but I also want to wake her any way possible. My heart is thudding against the walls of my chest as I grab her wrist to see if she has a pulse. I sit in silence, fighting to hear her heart. How did this happen? Did someone hurt her? Where is all this blood coming from? My mind races, all the while I’m listening. I’m not sure if what I feel is her heart or mine, but I go with my gut and hop up the best that I can, my prosthetic making it hard to move around.

Quickly I swipe the phone off of her nightstand and grab a towel as I drop back to my knees, dialing 911. Tears stream down my face looking at her this way. The blood is coming from a gash on her head, and I try to click into numb soldier mode as I press the towel onto the wound to stem the bleeding. Someone had to have done this to her. There’s simply too much blood for her to have slipped and fallen on her own. I feel the panic overtaking me, worming through the numbness.

            “911, what’s your emergency?”

“It’s—” I choke, staring at her weak body.

            “Hello? Sir, what’s your emergency?”

“My…My mom…I…I don’t know what….” My voice is shaky and I’m struggling through each word. “She’s…she’s unconscious and—”

            “Is she breathing, sir?”

Fuck, there’s a lot of blood. My mind flashes back to the battlefield, my chest tightens, I’m frozen.

“Sir, I need to know if she’s breathing?”

            “I…”

“I’m routing an ambulance to you. Are you at 211 Riverdale?”

            “Uh huh.”

“Sir, now please tell me, is your mom breathing?”

            “She’s facedown, so… I don’t know.”

            “Is her airway clear?”

Leaning over her, I look at my mom’s face and gently brush her hair out of the way. I can see that nothing is blocking her mouth or nose. Her eyes are closed and her poor glasses are smashed to hell, barely over her eyes.

            “There’s…” Fuck!

            “Sir? Her airway?”

            “It’s clear.”

“Good, does she have a pulse?”

            “I think so.”

I hear the dispatcher in the background speak to someone, then she comes back on the line. “The ambulance should be there in less than a minute, just leave her ‘til the medics arrive. Are you okay to get off the phone and open your front door?”

“Yeah,” I say and hang up.

I take a deep breath and try to push the panic down, unlocking the door in a haze. I need to get my shit together. Running back to my mom, I rest my head softly against hers, I cry and just pray that she’ll be okay. She has to be. I’ve already lost one woman in my life, so I sure as hell can’t lose another. Lying this close to her, I can feel her breathing.

Thank God. Pulling the towel away, I check and see that her head is no longer bleeding. That’s good. But again my damn mind gets the best of me and morbid thoughts take over. I envision her in a casket, my dad and I crushed with grief standing over her, and the pain of it is as real as if I was standing right there, right now.

All of a sudden the room is flooded with EMTs. “Sir, I need you to get up,” one of them says, his voice so faint as I struggle to come out of the grief brought on by my vision. Where did it even come from? He gently helps me up as I’m still having a hard time processing things.

“What happened?” one of them asks me as the others begin to work on her.

I replay the story the best that I can, fighting to stay calm and in the moment. Then out of the blue – a flashback to the day Arion collapsed in the hallway outside of her condo, when I showed up like an asshole and scared the shit out of her. She had no idea that I was alive, and the pure shock alone caused her to faint.

Watching my mom just as helpless makes my world spin. Everything inside of me aches as my vision bounces between her, Arion, and war.

Nick Foti left Riverdale New York, seven years ago, leaving his dreams and the only family he ever knew behind.  Most of all he left the one girl that managed to completely unravel him.  Samantha Lanza was his best friends little sister.  She wasn’t meant to be his, she was his to protect like a sister.
When he finally decided he couldn’t fight his attraction to her, events unfold that force him to leave her and the only life he has ever wanted behind.  Forced to work for his father in Seattle, Nick is miserable.  He spends most his time in the boardroom playing the corporate mogul.  The rest of the time he loses himself in a bottle and random woman that will never compare to the one he left behind.

One day Nick hits rock bottom and decides he’s had enough, he hangs up his suit and tie and sets out to reclaim the life he was meant to have.  He heads back to Riverdale just when the family he has always loved as his own needs him the most.  Everyone welcomes Nick with open arms, except Sam.  She wants nothing to do with him.  Can he convince her he’s a changed man who wants nothing more than to have her in his arms forever?  Or is the betrayal she feels too great to forgive.

Nick and Sam flashback when Sam made a pass at Nick

Nick walked into his hotel room, he was soaking wet due to the late night swim him and the guys had just come back from. He ran the towel ruggedly over his head, drying his hair when the lamp next to the bed turned on.

“Jesus Christ!” startled he jumped, his eyes focusing on Sam. “Sam? What’re you doing here?”

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.” She sat on the edge of the bed and was staring at his chest a slight grin formed on her lips before she looked up at his face.

He took a deep breath and walked over to his suitcase looking for a shirt.
“You didn’t answer me, what’re you doing here?” he asked as he heard her footsteps against the carpet fully aware that she was creeping up behind him. Where the hell was his shirt, he asked himself. “Ah ha! There it is.” He said aloud, grabbing the shirt from underneath a pile of clothes. She placed her hand on his bare shoulder causing him to turn around abruptly and their eyes connected. Hers were full of mischief and want.
Shit, he was fucked.

“Sam, go back to your room.” He said roughly.

“I don’t want to, Nick.” She grabbed the shirt from his hand. He closed his eyes and counted down from ten before opening them again as she threw his shirt on the floor.

“You need to.” He said.

“Why?” She tilted her head reaching out to rest her palm flat against his chest before taking another step closer. “Can I ask you something?” She looked up at him, the mischief gone from her eyes replaced with sincerity one look at her and he was a goner. He nodded as his restraint slipped away from him. “Do you ever wonder what if?” Her hand ran down the ridges of his abdomen. “Because I do. I think what if all the time. Like, what if you and I stopped playing games?” She whispered softly her voice was lethal to him. He grabbed her hips and pulled her lower half against him taking her off guard causing her to gasp. He waited a moment before bending his knees to make them eye level.

“Sam, you’re killing me.”

“I don’t mean to.” She whispered. “I just don’t want to go on wondering.” She wrapped her arms around his neck. “Maybe it will mean nothing to us but at least we can say we tried.”

“We both know that’s not what will happen.” He said gruffly.

“Prove it.” She said, and those were the last word either of them spoke.

Nick cupped her face in his hands and pressed his lips against hers. Whatever little restraint he had left, stayed in place, allowing him to be gentle as he slowly kissed her. At that moment he had felt like those lips were what every man pictured when they yearned to be kissed by a woman. They were soft and plump and grabbed onto his perfectly. She grabbed the ends of his hair, plastering her body against his. Goodbye restraint, you tried to hold on. He licked her lips seeking admittance, and when her lips parted he slid home. She tasted so sweet, he never would get his fill.

4 months more time than they had before they walked through the door.

Real estate developer Ethan McGregor’s life was changed forever when his younger brother told him he was dying of cancer. Ethan was ready to do whatever it took to save Evan, but Evan had other plans.

Say goodbye…

Jake Lanza is one of Riverdale New York’s favorite sons. He owns a tattoo parlor in the small upstate town and prides himself on being a fun-loving, live by the seat of your pants type of guy. He has everything he wants in life, a thriving business, a great family and a best friend with whom he could never live without.
Cara Sloane weaved her way into Jake’s life when they were fifteen years old. After her life fell apart at such a young age, Jake helped her heal, and began to pick up the pieces of her fallen life. His unconventional ways slowly had him becoming the anchor in her life.
Now fourteen years later Jake begins to see Cara in a new light. The things he thought he never wanted, he suddenly began to yearn for. The only problem was they were both too frightened to lose the greatest love either of them has ever known. Can Jake convince Cara there is more for them than just a friendship? Is he willing to take that gamble himself?

The door opened again but this time Cara didn’t have to turn around to know who had walked through it. She smiled instantly, dimming the lights as she turned around and bumped into Jake’s hard chest. A laugh escaped her lips as her eyes peered up at him. He grabbed her face, pressing his mouth firmly onto hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he hoisted her up, her legs swung around his waist as his hands cupped her ass. He carried her to the pool table, setting her down gently down on the felt then pulled his mouth away from hers.
“That’s one way to say hello.” She panted as he shrugged his jacket off his shoulders throwing it onto the table behind her. A devilish grin spread across his face as he pushed her legs apart and stepped between them.
“The best way if you ask me.” He said, wiggling his eyebrows. Jake’s quirky trademark gesture that undid her every single time. “Are we alone?” He said as his fingers worked the tiny buttons on the front of her shirt.
“Yes.” She said excitement evident in her voice as she laced her fingers through the belt loops of his jeans tugging him closer to her.
“Good I’ve been dreaming of doing this to you since I left here. I almost tattooed your name to the guys back piece I was doing because I couldn’t get you out of my head.” He said before his lips crashed onto hers.
Between kisses Jake managed to slide her shirt off, cupping her breasts in his palms as his tongue lavished her mouth. His fingertips toyed with the strap of her bra as she undid the top button of his jeans. Her hand cupped his erection through the denim and she heard him suck in a breath before his mouth found one of her nipples through the lace that shielded her breasts. His hands traveled down to her thighs and he began to hike her shirt higher inch by inch until it pooled around her waist. He tore his mouth from her breast and grinned at her.
“Thanks for wearing a skirt.” He smirked and she cocked her head as she slid the zipper of his jeans down.
“You’re welcome. Now shut up and fuck me.” She tried to hide the grin on her face by chewing on her lip. Her eyes gave up her laughter and he grinned at her. “Please?” She offered with a shrug. They both laughed before their lips met.
As their tongues danced their lips fused together both sets of hands worked on pushing down Jake’s pants and boxers satisfied when they finally were hanging past his knees. He reached between her legs slipping his fingers under the scrap of fabric that covered her aching mound. He pushed one finger between her folds causing her to arch instantly against his hand.
“Damn it Jake stop teasing me.” She said as his finger pushed in and out of her. She wanted that hard length she eyed inside of her not his fingers. He pressed his lips to her neck and spoke against her skin.
“Tell me what you want.” He said his tongue traveling along the base of her neck.
“I want you inside me fast and hard.” She all but pleaded, grabbing his head with her hands. She looked into his eyes demanding he take her just as she said.
His eyes never left hers and she watched him withdraw his finger from inside her. He dipped his fingertip into his mouth, treating himself to a taste closing his eyes as if to tell her was savoring her flavor. When his eyes opened, she moaned slightly watching him was doing crazy things to her insides. He winked at her as he shuffled her thong down her legs.
Cara should’ve be worried that someone would catch them like this especially Rudy, he had only left a little while ago what if he forgot something? She would bet her weeks’ pay that he’d take back all the nice things he had said before he left if he saw the town’s favorite badass and his number one bartender making use of his pool table. For some reason, though the thought of anyone walking in on them didn’t bother her as much as not having Jake at that exact moment. To hell with thinking, she spread her legs and he stepped between them. She wrapped her arms around him giving him her ‘fuck me’ eyes, knowing very well when she looked at him like that he’d lose control.
Biting back a curse Jake drove his hard dick into her quivering pussy. Her ass was spread against the felt on the pool table as she willingly widened her legs further to accommodate him. She tilted her body back his hands taking her hips hostage working them to the rhythm of his thrusts. Cara’s head flew back her hair cascading across the pool table, she felt sexy and completely in the moment. She gripped Jake’s shoulders for leverage her nails biting at his skin, urging him to pick up his pace to charge into her harder.
Her release hit her just as hard as he took her. Her body began to move rapidly against him and together they drove her orgasm home. Her legs tightened around him as if to hold him still as she came. In her state of euphoria she could feel him unleash his restraint and let himself join her. He slammed his cock deep inside her, letting out a strangled moan as he buried his face between her breasts.
Cara took the sight of them in rubbing her hands down his back as she chuckled. “I swear I will never look at this pool table the same.”
Panting, he pulled back and drew out a deep breath. He smiled as he dislodged himself from her bending down to pick up his pants. He pulled them up his legs, tucking his semi-swollen cock into his boxers then drew the zipper up on his jeans leaving the top button undone. He reached over her and grabbed her shirt.
“You’ve ruined any shot of me winning a game of pool in this place.” He smiled as he helped her with her shirt.
She hopped off the table and straightened her skirt before frowning. No way in hell was he going to let her on his bike with her bare legs. Then she remembered she had a pair of jeans in the locker in Rudy’s office. “I have a change of clothes in the back. Still want to go for that ride?” She said as she worked on closing the buttons of her shirt.
Jake stepped towards her reaching for her hand. He laced their fingers together before he dipped his head and kissed her gently. “Go change I’ll take you anywhere you want to go.” It was more of a promise than a simple statement. She smiled widely at him.
“I’ll go anywhere with you.” She gave his lips another quick peck. “I’ll be right back.” He nodded and she scurried off to change her clothes. She laughed at herself for being worried things would change between them.
