“Let’s get one thing clear—”

One thing? I have a goddamn list.”

He bracketed her throat, putting just enough pressure there to stop her words. “Did you change your mind?”

She narrowed her eyes but didn’t try to pretend she had no idea what he was talking about. “You play your game your way. I’ll play it mine.”

Disobedient and willful to the very end. He couldn’t decide if she was trying to provoke a response or if she was just that opposed to being locked down in any way. In the end, it didn’t matter. “I should bend you over this counter and fuck you into submission.”

“Don’t think for a second it would work.” Charlie rolled her eyes. “And beyond that, we’re already going to be late, so unless you’re looking for a quickie, fucking me in any way is out of the question.”

The irrational side of him, which always seemed to come into play around her, rose to demand he throw caution to the wind and prove her wrong. He reined it in, but only barely. Every time she pushed him, intentionally or not, he slid a little closer to the edge. It was only a matter of time before he went over—and took her with him.

Aiden let go of her and stepped back. He didn’t like the confusion on her face—or the flicker of hurt that rose as he moved to the dresser across the room. For all her spikes, there was something fragile about Charlie, and he’d have to be a special kind of bastard to want to shatter her, no matter who her father was.

He opened the drawer at the bottom that had been empty until a week ago. “Take off your panties.”

“I’m sorry, what?”

He gave her a look. “You heard me.”

“I’m waiting for you to explain.”

Aiden shook his head slowly. “There aren’t two separate games—there’s only my game. Either play along or deal with the consequences.” He picked an item out of the drawer and held it up. “Here’s your first punishment.”

“I didn’t do anything wrong.” But her eyes lit with interest at the small blue vibe in his hand.

He motioned her forward, giving her plenty of time to tell him to go to hell.

But she didn’t.

Charlie moved to stand directly in front of him. He lifted her dress to the tops of her thighs, bunching the shimmering fabric. “Hold this,” he ordered.

“You are aggravating in the extreme.”

“So I’ve been told.” He pulled her panties down to her thighs. It was tempting to kiss her there, but he forced himself to stay on task. Aiden held the small vibe against her clit as he shifted the lace back into place. It took a few seconds to maneuver it to exactly where he wanted, but then he sat back on his heels. “You can let go now.”

“This is an important night, Aiden.” She shifted, a frown on her face. “We don’t have time for your sex games to distract me.”

He pulled out his phone and brought up the app he’d downloaded when he bought the sex toy. A flick of his finger and her entire body tensed. Aiden didn’t bother to hide his satisfied smile. It fell away when he touched his pocket and the little box it held. “One more thing.”

“I swear to God, I draw the line at anal plugs, so don’t even think about it.”

That surprised a laugh out of him. What surprised him even more was how good it felt. When was the last time he’d laughed freely in a way that wasn’t calculated?

Aiden couldn’t remember.

He stood and pulled out the ring box. “I’d go down on one knee, but that isn’t the kind of relationship we have.”

“No, it’s not.” She looked a little sick, but she held out her hand so he could slide the ring onto it. “Aiden, it’s beautiful.”

“It was my grandmother’s.” It had taken some shady work to figure out Charlie’s ring size after he’d first met her, so that he could get the ring resized. He hadn’t told anyone about it. Though he’d been as sure of her as he could be of a near-stranger, he hadn’t wanted to admit the lengths he’d gone through, in case things didn’t pan out.

If anything, she looked even more horrified. “I can’t wear your grandmother’s ring. It’s not right.”

“You have to. As oldest son and heir, that ring rightfully belongs to my future wife. It would be more than a little suspicious if I didn’t give it to you.”

She touched the massive diamond. It was in the same setting as when his grandfather had proposed, little rubies and garnets surrounding the diamond, to represent colors in the O’Malley crest.

It felt a whole lot like he’d just branded Charlie.

It didn’t bother him nearly as much as it should.

Praise for UNDERCOVER ATTRACTION

“Robert (Forbidden Promises) combines strong chemistry, snappy plotting, and imperfect yet appealing characters in her fifth O’Malley contemporary.”—Publishers Weekly on UNDERCOVER ATTRACTION

“Imagine the erotic sensibility of Red Shoe Diaries expertly fused with the ruthless power struggles that fueled The Sopranos and you have some idea of the flavor of Robert’s RITA–nominated O’Malleys series. In the fifth installment, she doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to the searing sensuality of the love scenes or the brutal danger propelling the plot, thus delivering exactly the kind of intense love story her readers crave.”—Booklist on UNDERCOVER ATTRACTION

NEW RELEASE BLITZ ~ Constant (A Confidence Men Novel) by Rachel Higginson

Constant
(A Confidence Men Novel)

by Rachel Higginson

A second chance romantic suspense.

BLURB:

Fifteen years ago I met Sayer Wesley. I fell in love with him. I promised I would never leave him. I swore nothing could break us apart.

Five years ago I broke my promise. I ran away. I took the one secret that could destroy us both and disappeared.

Five days ago I thought I saw him.

I knew it was impossible. Sayer was locked away, serving a deserved sentence in federal prison. He couldn’t find me.

He wouldn’t find me. I was too good at hiding. Too good at surviving.

Because if Sayer ever found me, there would be hell to pay for a plethora of sins. The worst of which, he didn’t even know about yet.

Five hours ago, I told myself I was crazy.

Five minutes ago, I saw him again.

Five seconds ago, I was too late.

EXCERPT:

There were times in my life that I thought I wouldn’t survive. I stood at the precipice of death and peered over the edge. One misstep or ill-timed gust of wind and I would have tipped over, fallen down the black abyss and never resurfaced.

Sometimes when I looked back at those moments, those infinitely dark and twisted times, I couldn’t breathe. I would feel my heart shatter all over. I would experience the tearing, crushing, ripping apart of my limbs and muscles, my tendons and veins, my heart and my mind. I would forget how to breathe.

I would forget how to be.

Until I remembered him.

He was the one constant in my life that had pushed me through the darkness. He was the one constant in my life that loved me beyond everything else, beyond what I was or had been or could ever be. He wanted me to be better. He wanted to be better for me.

And yet he was as tangled in the madness as I was.

I didn’t have that life anymore. I had broken free and found something safe to build a foundation on. But I couldn’t remember the past without imagining his smile or his eyes, his touch. I couldn’t think about where I had been without thinking of where we were supposed to go.

Where he was supposed to take me.

Sometimes life doesn’t work out the way you plan. Sometimes circumstances change and sometimes they’re for the better.

But he was my constant then and he is the constant ghost that haunts me now.

I might not be with him.

But he will always be with me.

CHERISH HARD

A Hard Play Novel by Nalini Singh

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh kicks off her new Hard Play contemporary romance series with a sizzling story that’ll leave you smiling…

Sailor Bishop has only one goal for his future – to create a successful landscaping business. No distractions allowed. Then he comes face-to-face and lips-to-lips with a woman who blushes like an innocent… and kisses like pure sin.

Ísa Rain craves a man who will cherish her, aches to create a loving family of her own. Trading steamy kisses with a hot gardener in a parking lot? Not the way to true love. Then a deal with the devil (aka her CEO-mother) makes Ísa a corporate VP for the summer. Her main task? Working closely with a certain hot gardener.

And Sailor Bishop has wickedness on his mind.

As Ísa starts to fall for a man who makes her want to throttle and pounce on him at the same time, she knows she has to choose – play it safe and steady, or risk all her dreams and hope Sailor doesn’t destroy her heart.

Excerpt from CHERISH HARD by Nalini Singh

ÍSA WONDERED WHAT THE HELL she was doing.

Being a devil woman, she reminded herself. Having fun for a change. Not being a grandma at twenty-eight years of age.

Still, she couldn’t stop second-guessing herself as Sailor led her out of the house through a side entrance that opened out into a small, manicured garden. “I’ll have to take off my heels,” she whispered when she saw the pebbled path snaking through the garden.

“Want a piggyback ride?” A playful grin. “I promise not to molest your thighs.”

Goose bumps broke out over Ísa’s skin, her nipples tight. Reckless as she was feeling tonight, she might just have taken him up on his offer if she hadn’t been worried her damn dress would split in two. “Maybe when we’re naked,” she said instead, Devil Ísa in full flower.

Groaning, he doubled over as if she’d punched him.

Her lips twitching despite the melting sexual heat liquefying her bones, she leaned down to slip off her heels.

Sailor waited, his hand firm around hers, until she was done. Taking the heels from her, he carried them in his other hand as Ísa padded beside him on the grass that lay on this side of the pebbled path. The path ended at a weathered wooden gate, which, when opened, put them at the top of a narrow walkway that led down onto a beach Ísa couldn’t yet see but could hear.

Her heart crashed in time with the waves as they made their way down to the beach while the mansion behind them pulsed with light and music. But she didn’t turn and run away, she didn’t stop and talk herself out of it, she didn’t attempt to be a sensible adult. She followed a gorgeous, blue-eyed man down a dirt pathway to an effectively private beach.

The sand that had been tracked onto the path was gritty under her feet, the air coming off the sea cool but not cold.

“The water’s going to be icy, isn’t it?” she whispered to his broad back.

“Don’t worry, spitfire. I’ll keep you warm,” was the deep-voiced response. “Stop here.” Jumping down to the beach, he reached up to grab her by the waist, swinging her down as if she were a featherweight.

Something fluffy and mushy came to life inside Ísa. “Here?”

Shaking his head, he said, “Raj told me there’s like a little cove area—not a proper cove, but caused by— There.”

Ísa saw it at once. A huge tree had fallen into the water at some point and smashed up against some rocks where it appeared to be stuck. Between the jutting rocks on either side and the fallen trunk was a naturally created pool. The water within it was pretty calm, and it looked as if they could get to it by clambering over some rocks that didn’t appear too sharp or slippery.

Of course, she’d be walking over those rocks naked.

Ísa looked up at the moon. Imagined it shining on the stark white of her body. Gulped. “Will you close your eyes while I go in the water?” Even Devil Ísa wasn’t up for blinding him with her glow-in-the-dark form.

A glance back. “What’re you going to bribe me with?”

Ísa scowled. “Not pushing you into the water right now.” It was a toothless threat given his muscles and her lack of them.

Rubbing his jaw, he said, “Three tongue kisses. That’s my price, and I’m not budging.”

Ísa wanted to pounce on him all over again. “Two,” she countered.

“Nuh-uh. Three. Or I’m keeping both eyes wide open.” Leaning in, he pressed his nose to hers. “I really want to keep my eyes wide open.”

And Ísa really wanted to kiss him and run her hands all over that sculpted chest. “Three,” she whispered.

EXCERPT:

“Getting Ready” Teaser BREATHE, Book 2 in The Program Series

I have no defenses to what’s between us, all three of us.  It’s potent and all consuming.  My mind wraps around the fact we’re bringing Raven into this maelstrom of emotion and hunger and dirty, filthy, intense lust.

Whether she wants to or not.

“Soon Raven will be with us,” Summer murmurs.

The fire and brimstone Raven infused me with from our kiss engulfs me once again burning through my veins.  She’s infected me with her, all of her, her evil, her beauty, her defiance and strength, and her weaknesses and need.  She’s in me, there’s no denying it.

I bend and cup the back of Summer’s head and kiss her.  She smells like us, covered in our cum.  She’s sweet and addicting, and one taste is never enough.

“Get your ass on the bed.  Play with yourself.”  My voice is rough.

Her nostrils flare as her eyes go wide.  A smile lifts her lips as she stands and goes into the other room to take her place on the mattress and get in position.

Rock laughs behind me as we follow her into the bedroom.  She’s right in the middle of the king sized bed, legs bent and knees open as she circles and plucks her greedy clit with her fingers.  She’s mewling like a hungry little kitten.  Rock and I take off our clothes as we watch her squirming in front of us.  With our hands working our cocks, we approach her.

I reach for the lube already on the bed, the wicked woman was prepared and had it waiting, and coat my shaft with it.  “Pull those knees up, Tinkerbell.  I’m going to get that tight hole ready.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

I am just a woman, like many of you, who has lived through beauty and ugliness, happiness, (sometimes extreme), and sadness, (sometimes heart wrenching), and have grown to love life and myself even more.  I write because I love the characters, I am madly and hopelessly in love with them and want to share them with the world.  Life is beautiful and is meant to be enjoyed day by day, sometimes you have to pick out the good stuff with a magnifying glass like a needle in a haystack, but enjoyed none the less.  The stories that I put on paper, I think, help us to find that enjoyment a little bit more.

I am just a woman who is in love with love…………..<3

Temporary Boyfriend
by Shanora Williams

Release Date: November 9th, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Piper Madison can only think of one way to get her parents to accept her: hire a temporary boyfriend.

She hires Matthew Cooper, a hot, tall, and wickedly handsome male escort with a set of dimples and charm that will bring any woman to her knees.

He assures Piper they will prove her family wrong – that she doesn’t need to be married to some billionaire in order to be happy – and that it will remain strictly business between them.

But when their strictly business relationship starts to feel a little too real, Piper and Matthew realize hearts are on the line, and that they may be in for much more than they bargained for.

Excerpt:

PIPER

I shut off the water but before I can put my toothbrush away, Matthew is standing behind me, pressing his body against me.

His groin pushes into my ass and I realize that through that towel, he’s hard. I look at his reflection in the mirror.

“What are you doing?” I laugh softly.

“Saying good morning the way a real boyfriend would.” He kisses the crook of my neck and I nearly melt inside. The heat travels down, building up in my most sacred area.

I drop my toothbrush and turn in his arms, looking up to meet his honey eyes. “Wait—” I press a hand against his chest. “I thought you said this shouldn’t happen anymore.” I point between us, confused. “I know I got carried away last night.”

“I liked it. Probably a little too much,” he murmurs on my lips.

“I bet you did.”

“Maybe what I meant is this shouldn’t happen…much.”

My eyes widen, and I bite my lower lip, fighting a grin. “You’re serious right now, aren’t you?”

He responds with a kiss on my cheek and a gentle push of his hard cock into my groin.

“But isn’t that breaking all of your ‘escort’ rules?” I make air parentheses with my fingers.

“Possibly…”

“God, you are so confusing,” I whisper, our lips a hair’s breadth away.

“Trust me, I’m confused as fuck about you too.” He looks me over, his tongue running over his bottom lip. “You want to know what I’ve been thinking about all morning?”

He grips my waist and picks me up. My butt lands on the counter, and he steps between my parted legs with a smirk on his lips.

“What?”

“I keep thinking that what happened last night wasn’t nearly enough.” He studies my lips. “The way you rode my c*ck, how tight and wet you were. I need more, Piper. A lot more. I know we only have about twenty-five minutes, but,” he sighs, pulling my shorts down and tossing them in the corner. He takes my shirt off next. “I’ll be quick.” His lips land on the bend of my neck again, and he sucks, causing a tingling sensation to shoot through my legs and hit me right in the core. “I promise.”

BLOG TOUR ~ Cats and Dogs Part 2 by Jess Molly Brown

  Title: Cats & Dogs – Part 2

By: Jess Molly Brown

Publication Date: November 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance

#catsanddogs2

This is the second of two novellas containing animal antics and a second chance romance. Partial proceeds will be donated by the author to children’s cancer charities.

Nathan Brooks and Julia Hart have known each other forever. As kids, no one could keep up with them and no one could replace them in each other’s lives. They bickered, they bantered, they loved and they fell apart. Five years later, they’ve reunited and the relationship is serious. The kind of serious that involves weddings and babies.

Nathan is adamant that the wedding will come before the baby.

Fate may not be so accommodating.

Julia may be on the same page as her fiancé, but there are many roadblocks standing in the way of this devoted pair. Work, family, addiction, and even the weather present unforeseen challenges. And don’t even get started on the antics of the crazy animals Nathan accommodates in his veterinary clinic.

No matter what the circumstance, life at Brooks House is never dull. It comes with a hefty helping of barks, meows, cackles, squeals and moos. And a few strange photographs.

Can Brooks and Hart tie the knot before cutting their baby’s umbilical cord?

Greg handed Nathan his cane. “The girls are having a hen party at your place. You’re stuck with us until tomorrow.”

“Where are we going?” Nathan patted Mrs. Keillor on the shoulder as he headed for the front door.

“Sex shop.”

Nathan turned around, open-mouthed, to tell his best friend that was not going to happen, but found himself aloft. Before he could utter one yip of protest, his friends crammed him in the back of Kitt’s SUV. Outside the front door, Mrs. Keillor, Jules and her mom waved, laughing their guts out. He shut his mouth with a snap.

“Bye, Jules!” his friends hollered out the car windows.

“We’ll bring him back in pristine condition,” Greg added.

Jules beamed. “You’d better!”

“Yeah, he’ll still be a virgin!” Kitt yelled as they rolled up the windows. It was freaking cold out and Nathan had no coat.

Nathan reached forward and flicked him on the ear.

“Hey, I’m driving!”

“I’m not a virgin, moron. In case you haven’t noticed, that’s my kid expanding Jules’s waistline.”

Greg cuddled into Nathan’s side and made a kissy face. “We never knew you had it in you!” Then he and Scott pounced.

It’s been twelve years since tragedy struck the senior class of Long Acre High School. Only a few students survived that fateful night—a group the media dubbed The Ones Who Got Away.

Liv Arias thought she’d never return to Long Acre—until a documentary brings her and the other survivors back home. Suddenly her old flame, Finn Dorsey, is closer than ever, and their attraction is still white-hot. When a searing kiss reignites their passion, Liv realizes this rough-around-the-edges cop might be exactly what she needs…

Liv’s words cut off as Finn got closer. The man approaching was nothing like the boy she’d known. The bulky football muscles had streamlined into a harder, leaner package and the look in his deep green eyes held no trace of boyish innocence.

She bit her lip. Of course with his authoritative tone, her mind put him in a uniform and some aviators. She’d never had a particular fetish for men in uniform, especially after her own run-in with the police. But the thought of Finn wearing one and manhandling her a bit had her reconsidering. She would definitely get out of the vehicle. Maybe even let him cuff her. And as inappropriate as the thought was, considering the circumstances, it was a welcome respite from her nightmare. She cleared her throat. “I think you pull it off just fine.”

His dimple appeared beneath the stubble. “You’re blushing, Arias.”

“I am not.” She tipped up her chin. “I’m just…still flushed from all the adrenaline.”

“Uh-huh. Or you’ve got a secret cop fetish.”

“Stop flirting.” She pointed a finger at him.

“Am I flirting?” he asked innocently.

“Yes. And that’s not allowed. You yourself said that kiss was a mistake. So don’t come prancing around here half-dressed with your Batman abs and talking about where to put my hands. No one likes a tease, Dorsey.”

His grin turned roguish. “I said that kiss was a mistake, not a regret.”

“Finn.”

“And Batman abs?” He grabbed the lapels of the robe like he was going to open it and check. “These old things?”

She stretched out her leg and kicked his thigh. “Stop it. You’re terrible.”

He lifted his palms in surrender and laughed. “At least you’re smiling now.”

“Yeah, well, there’s that.”

It seemed even after all the years had passed, Finn still had the ability to get her mind off things. When her mom was going through chemo and everything was doom and gloom at home, Finn could somehow figure out ways not just to make her laugh, but to do so in a way that didn’t make her feel guilty for feeling a moment of happiness.

She leaned forward, bracing herself on one hand, and planted a kiss on his cheek. “Thank you.”

“For what?”

She looked up, meeting his gaze, and realized how close she still was. Close enough to see the flecks of gray in his green eyes, close enough to kiss him. She wet her lips. “Being you. I’ve missed that guy.”

His Adam’s apple bobbed, his gaze flicking to her mouth before sliding upward again. Her heart picked up speed, and his hand closed around her upper arm. “Liv…”

“I…” Whatever she was going to say died on her lips because the way he was looking at her made her forget her words. There was want there in those green depths—lust—but there was something else. Something that made her breath stall. Need mixed with something more dangerous. A wildness.

A curl of heat went up her spine, twining with unease. So much of her wanted to give into it, to see what exactly was simmering there between them. Just grab him and say to hell with it all and make the sheets even sweatier than they already were. But as much as he was drawing her in with that look, he was also warning her off. She didn’t know how she got that sense, but it was there, loud and clear. Push me away. Run. He wanted her to stop this.

He’d told her outside what he had to offer—nothing but a one night stand. And though right now that sounded all kinds of enticing, she wasn’t going to go there. He didn’t want this. Plus, even sober, it would be too close to how she’d handled her anxiety in college. She didn’t need to chase away her nightmare with a hook-up she’d regret in the morning. She wasn’t that girl anymore.

“Finn.” The word was strained.

“Yes?”

She swallowed past the dryness in her throat. “We should get my stuff moved. It’s late.”

He stared at her for a moment and then his grip on her arm softened, his breath tickled her hair. “Right. Of course.”

He released her and she climbed off the bed with shaky limbs. She wouldn’t let herself look at him. She needed a task—something, anything, to get her mind off the man sitting on her bed. She packed up in record time, and Finn retrieved his gun from the drawer, tucking it in the pocket of the robe. No words were exchanged. When she was done gathering her things, he helped her roll her bag down the hallway to his room.

He let her inside and quickly rounded up his own stuff. He moved with quiet efficiency, awkwardness creeping into the silence between them and spreading into every corner of the room.

She leaned against the dresser, watching him, hating the growing divide. “Hey, Finn.”

He looked up, his hands full of computer wires.

“I know the kiss was a mistake and things have gotten a little weird and a lot personal tonight. But this—you and I having some time to talk—it was good. I think that’s what I missed the most when everything happened. Losing you as a friend.”

His stance relaxed. “Yeah?”

She crossed her arms and shrugged. “Yeah. We were good at the kissing, but we were better at the talking. I never had to fake stuff with you.”

His eyebrow arched.

She laughed. “That’s not what I mean, Mr. Mind-In-the-Gutter. I mean that things were easy between us. That’s hard to find with people. I’m realizing that now. I don’t…have that.”

He tucked the computer cords in his bag and straightened, his watchful gaze making her fidgety.

“And that’s not your problem, obviously.” She was rambling now but couldn’t bring herself to stop. “But I opened that stupid time capsule tonight and got to see a big long list of things I wanted to accomplish in life and haven’t. I was supposed to this. I was supposed to that.” She rolled her eyes. “I’m going to name my freaking autobiography Supposed To by Olivia Arias.”

He frowned. “Liv.”

She shook her head. “It’s fine. It is what it is. But all I’m saying is that I don’t want another regret added to the list. So I just thought you should know that you meant—mean—something to me. And maybe you could give a flying flip about me. I have no clue what your life looks like now, but I would rather not leave Long Acre later today and go back to being strangers. Because people you don’t have to fake it for are hard to find. So…yeah, that’s all I wanted to say. I’d like us to stay in touch.”

The corners of his mouth twitched. “That’s all you had to say?”

“Hey, I’m a photographer not an editor.”

“I thought you were a web designer.”

Her lips parted, closed.

He smiled. “Maybe you’re already making more changes than you think.”

She let out a breath. “Maybe I’m just tired.”

Finn stepped around the bed and held out his hand. “Give me your phone.”

She was confused for a second, her brain running on too much adrenaline and too little sleep, but eventually his request registered. She reached into her bag to pull out her cell.

He took it from her and typed a few things and then handed it back to her. “You can always call me, Liv. For anything.”

She took her phone back, her hope sinking a bit. “Right. Thanks.”

He kissed the top of her head and then grabbed his stuff. “I’m going to get out of your way so you can shower and rest. If you need anything before breakfast, give me holler.”

“Thanks.”

He stepped out into the hallway without a backward glance and headed to the room they’d left, obviously more than a little eager to get the hell away from her. She didn’t blame him. She’d apparently become the queen of awkward conversation tonight.

With a sigh, she locked her door and made her way over to the bed and collapsed onto it. Spent. Exhausted. And a little frustrated.

Finn had taken her words like she wanted someone to call when she needed help, but she wasn’t in the market for a therapist or a savior. She was in the market for a friend.

But maybe she was grasping for something that didn’t exist with Finn anymore. Maybe she was just being nostalgic. They weren’t in high school. They didn’t live in the same place. They couldn’t just hang out. The time for that had past. She needed to be okay with that.

If he wasn’t interested in keeping in touch, she wasn’t going to chase him.

She checked the time on her phone to see how many hours she needed to kill before breakfast. But instead of seeing the time, she saw the address book entry Finn had made.

His phone number.

And a note beneath: You will never be a stranger to me.

But she always returned to writing.

Though she’ll forever be a New Orleans girl at heart, she now lives in Dallas with her husband and son. If she’s not working on her latest story, you can find her cooking, reading, or picking up another hobby she doesn’t need. She is a two-time RITA Award winner and a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author.

Rainblow of Love
Frankie and Preston

“HEY, SEXY.” PRESTON WALKED into the kitchen, fresh from his workout at the gym.
Preston Legare, so posh. My downtown toyboy. In low-hanging shorts and a loose shirt he pulled up to wipe across his face. Baring carved abs, the thin trail of hair, and an indent of muscles that led to a cock I built frickin’ fantasies around.
He looked fucking fine in one of my natty tailored suits. Even better naked. But I had to admit, the sweaty, ruffled, flushed-face look he had workin’ for him right now reminded me of the way he looked after I’d fucked him hard and put him up wet.
Mmmm.
A man could get used to that kind of thing.
“That’s Eye-talian sex god to you.” I leaned into him, drawing his lips to mine with enough wetness and suction to make Preston groan before I turned back to the stove.
The kitchen smelled divine, and I’d been cooking all afternoon for him. My mother’s famous cioppino, Caesar salad, crispy bread I’d made from scratch. Loved spoiling my man.
We lived in a restored carriage house in one of the finer spots of the French Quarter, Charleston, SC. A nice walk through scenic cobbled streets to my shop. Not that we couldn’t afford more. Being a mostly retired hit man and former Mafia enforcer, as well as a bespoke tailor . . . I was flush. And Preston, the executive assistant extraordinaire, wasn’t hurting for money, neither. But the place was private, quiet, and we had our own courtyard where I liked to fuck the holy hell out of him whenever the weather was warm enough, which was often.
“Why don’t you go take a shower then put your feet up? After you pour me a glass of wine.”
“You going to join me?” Preston turned me to him, pressing his fine body against me.
“Frisky?” Madon’. I loved it when he rubbed all over me.
Tight bod. Perfect hair. Nice cock. Great—fucking great—ass.
I was tempted to get all sudsy and wet with him, but I needed to finish cooking in the kitchen before I cooked somewhere else. Capisce?
“Gotta decline that offer, babe.”
“Why? Do we have plans tonight?” He kissed me, doing that crazy good thing with his tongue—which was pierced—that drove me absolutely up the wall.
“Nada,” my voice rumbled out, way huskier than before.
“Do you have plans tonight?” He stiffened, and not in the good way.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” My nerves were already a little on edge, and I stared at him.
“You’ve been acting sneaky lately.” His eyes turned brittle and hard.
“What’s gotten your jockstrap in a twist all of a sudden?”
Preston grunted—a sound of sheer annoyance—and pushed against my chest.
“Jesus fuggin’ Christ, amante. You accusin’ me of something here?” Crossing my arms over my chest, I stood my ground as he went all pit bull on me.
“I want to know who else you’re screwing!”
Complete and utter shock ranged through me. Quickly followed by a burst of anger.
“You’re on my cock so much, when am I supposed to have time to find a random fuck buddy?”
“That’s all I am? A fuck buddy. Your flamer fag? Your backdoor boyfriend?”
My eyes widened with every word he said, insecurity oozing off him—Preston—the most self-confident man I knew.
“Will you shut those gorgeous blowjob lips for just one second? Madon’, and I’m the one who’s supposed to have a temper. M’I right?”

EXCERPT:

I’d spent six months denying my attraction to this man. Six long months of sitting across from him and listening to him command a call or dominate another employee. Hell, he’d dominated me, and knowing him as I did now? I liked it. And I didn’t want to wait another minute to show him.

Without giving myself too much time to think about what I was about to do, I bit my lip and slipped around the desk, only half listening to the other people on the call go back and forth about expectations and limitations. For once in my life, work would have to wait. I had a staff of people who could fill me in, and it was about time I utilized them. Right at that moment, I had an urge to do something to Colin. To have that man at my mercy.

He had definitely won the seduction game.

“You were cruel this morning when you teased me right to the edge and didn’t make me come.”

“Was I?”

“Yes. Definitely.” I pushed his shoulder, forcing his chair back, giving myself room to work. “I wore your favorite lipstick today.”

“I noticed.” He reached up, running his thumb over my bottom lip. I flicked my tongue against the tip, giving him a preview of what I had in store.

“It’ll leave a mark if I kiss you.” I dropped to my knees, unfastening his pants with a smile on my face. “Or do more than just kiss you.”

“I’m hoping for it.” His voice was deep, almost growly, and his eyes were bright as they held mine. This was a man who wanted, one who craved whatever I was promising. And that fact, knowing I could push him to the point of looking at me like I was a gift to him, made me feel far more powerful than sitting across from him in my suit ever had.

“I’d dream of this sometimes,” I said as I pulled his cock through the placket of his pants. “When we were on a conference call and there were people waiting for us to direct them. I would think about what it’d be like to slip under your desk and take you in my mouth.”

Colin ran his finger down the side of my cheek, breathing hard. Silent. But there was a tension about him. An energy that said he was ready to go off. And I couldn’t wait to be the one to make him.

I opened my mouth and ran my tongue around the head of his cock, staring into his eyes. Flicking the slit twice before placing a big, wet kiss to the tip. “I wonder if I can make the powerful Colin Huntley beg.”

He chuckled deeply, sighing as I wrapped my lips around the tip again and sucked. “I don’t beg, spitfire, but I’d beg for these lips around my cock. Every fucking night.”

I popped off him, licking the tip once more. “Someday, I’m going to make you prove it.”

Excerpt:

Before Thanksgiving, Renie had talked Ben and the rest of the guys in CB Rice into playing at the Goat that night. The bar, owned by the Rice family, was an institution on Elk Avenue, the main drag in Crested Butte.

With Tucker gone, the mood was subdued.

Her dad sat in on a couple of songs, and when he wasn’t, he danced with Blythe.

“My turn.” Jace tapped her father on the shoulder. Mark stepped aside, and Jace wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her in, close to him. He rested his cheek against her hair and breathed in the scent of her.

“I’m sorry about today.”

“Why are you sorry?”

“Tucker…”

“Again, why are you sorry? Tucker was the one who disappeared without saying goodbye.”

He didn’t know what to say. He understood how Tucker was feeling, more than he wanted to. The guilt began to creep in again.

“Jace, are you okay?”

He knew she could feel the tension that was slowly spreading throughout his body. He’d hoped holding her would stop it from happening this time.

“Yeah, I’m okay.”

She pulled back so she could look in his eyes, but he didn’t want her to. Not tonight.

“Let me hold you, Blythe.” He wrapped his arm around her waist a little tighter. He felt her breath catch as much as he heard it.

“It must be bad, whatever it is.”

He couldn’t answer her, but yes, it was bad.

The rest of the band took a break, but Ben stayed where he was, just him and his guitar. Every word he sang cut into Jace’s heart. It was as if Ben knew what had happened, but Jace knew that wasn’t possible. Nobody knew but him. Not even Tucker.

So don’t fall in love, there’s just too much to lose

If you’re given the choice, then I beg you to choose

To walk away, walk away, don’t let her get you.

I can’t bear to see the same happen to you.

Please, don’t be sad now, I really believe,

She was the greatest thing that happened to me.
