RELEASE DAY BLITZ ~ Hard Cut by Dani Wyatt

By the time Flint Rendell caught the beautiful, curvy brunette in mid-air, he already knew he’d never let her go.  Flint figured his life of chopping down trees and building his cabin in the woods far from civilization, would be his life.  He’d never found much use for other people, but from the moment he caught a glimpse of her, everything changed.

Wren Reynolds lived a nomad’s life with her hippie parents until a tragedy stole everything from her.  Starting over in the middle of nowhere she dreamt of finding peace again.  When the local lumberhunk rides in on his white horse to save her from herself, her dreams begin to change, and she starts to believe in fairy tales again.

But, fate had different ideas, and an incarceration that saves her, but sends Flint away changes everything.  Can these two find their way back or will the real world have its way, and end their happily ever after before it has its chance to begin?

Author’s Note:  The scent of pines and sex will have you swooning for this match made in backwoods heaven.  One hunky lumberjack who’s not touched a woman in years finds his one and only, in this sweet, smutty novel in the CUT series. All standalone stories sure to have you dreaming of flannel and wishing for a piece of hard wood all your own.

She’s watching me as I bring us to the bedroom. Her gaze burns and chills every patch of skin her eyes touch. It’s the most unusual sensation and something I’ve never come close to experiencing before. I’m so fucking connected to this girl, I swear I can feel her feelings.

The next two days are ours to discover with each other. I don’t plan on us leaving the property or going anywhere—I have plenty of food as always, and all I can think about is planning all the ways I’m going to make her moan. Her pleasure is my obsession, and my hard-on at dinner made it damn near impossible to think of anything other than getting her naked, under my tongue, and in this bedroom for the next twelve hours or more.

Inside, I sit her down on the bed, cup her cheeks in my hands, and stare at those wide gray eyes and strawberry-pink lips for a long moment.

“Do you get that I want you, Wren?”

Her eyes light up, and a little giggle escapes her lips. “I’m pretty sure I get that. Yes.” She grins, looking down at the visible erection tenting my jeans, and I can’t resist smiling back.

“Yeah, that’s part of it. But I want all of you. I want your hopes, your dreams, your problems, itches, and irritations… I want it all. I want you. That means all of you. Sure, your pussy could topple kingdoms, and that fucking delicious body of yours is part of that, I won’t deny. But it’s not the whole of who you are. Of what I want. It’s just a part.”

She bites into her bottom lip as I bring my face down to hers and kiss her. My tongue claims her in that kiss, leaving us both breathing hard.

When I break away, I crouch down between her legs at the side of the bed.

“You wet for me?”

My hands reach up to unbutton her shirt, and she doesn’t move to stop me.

“I’m pretty sure I’ve been wet for you every day since you caught me falling off that ladder, Flint Rendell.”

SYNOPSIS:

Entertainment reporter Anna Blake strives to be the first to get the scoop on the city’s hottest celebrity gossip. But when the competition outs her as the long-lost sister of the bride in what’s been heralded as the wedding of the year, Anna’s forced to go undercover as a bridesmaid to find the scoop that just might save her job.

Best man Nick St. Claire hasn’t forgotten that Anna almost cost him his first election ten years ago. When she appears as a less-than-enthusiastic bridesmaid right before he’s set to announce his senate candidacy, he’s more than suspicious. To ensure the wedding—and his campaign announcement—goes off without a hitch, Nick makes a bargain with Anna: be the model maid of honor, and he’ll give her access to an exclusive story that’s sure to save her job.

But in between dance lessons, bridal showers, and football game fun, these longtime enemies might discover there’s something bigger to fight than each other. Something a lot like…love.

EXCERPT

Nick enjoyed a good challenge, especially when he saw that he was matched with such a formidable foe, and he increased his speed until he was alongside her. She didn’t bother to look over at him again, instead focusing on the path ahead.

They continued at this rate, her breathing down his neck and refusing to give an inch, until his legs were burning and his chest was heaving painfully. He wasn’t used to being pushed so hard, and he had to admit he liked it.

“Ready to call it?” he asked, hearing her breath becoming just as labored, her pace slowing ever so slightly.

“Never.”

He almost laughed, knowing that she was exhausted and probably close to breaking but not willing to give him an inch. “How about we race to the fountain at the courtyard?”

“You’re on.”

Whatever weakness he thought he’d perceived in her stride immediately disappeared as she pushed herself ahead of him. He wondered briefly whether he’d been played, but was too late, because with that sudden unseen burst, she’d put herself enough in the lead in those last few seconds, and it was over.

She’d won.

Instead of feeling indignant at being played, though, he was relieved that it was over. His lungs burning as much as his legs, he slowed down to catch his breath before collapsing in a pile on the ground.

A second later, Anna dropped next to him, her face bright and pink from the exertion, a bead of sweat trickling down her neck and disappearing into the top of her sports bra, an area that he hadn’t been able to admire previously. He swallowed hard at the view of the tantalizing amount of skin above it—and the ample amount hidden from sight.

“You certainly have a singular mind,” Anna said.

He glanced up, aware in his oxygen-depleted state of mind that he’d been caught gaping, but instead of appearing disgusted or angry, Anna only rolled her eyes.

“I’m nothing if not consistent.”

He stretched forward over his right leg, feeling the pull in his hamstring as Anna did the same. For his own sanity, he kept his eyes on the top of his shoe instead of the view of her more alluring assets.

“That’s twice now I’ve kicked your butt. Not that I’m counting,” she boasted, switching legs.

“All a matter of perspective.” He sat up and crossed an arm in front of him, lengthening the muscles in his shoulder. “I seem to recall kicking yours with my finely tuned dance steps.”

“Okay, that’s fair. So one point for you and your ballroom dancing techniques and two points for me and my naturally given athletic prowess at both football and running. Maybe if there’s a cooking class later today, you can earn yourself another point. Or you can show me up by darning some socks or sewing a button on your apron?” She looked up from where she’d been leaning forward into a stretch and grinned.

Damn. She was sexy.

Not just because the fullness of her breasts was hard to miss as she leaned toward him. No, her sexiness was deeper. Having to do with the confidence she carried in her every movement. In the way her eyes shined and her lips curved as she smiled at him.

In her ability to challenge him and push herself without fear of failure.

“Hey, I’m all right with that. I’m nothing if not in touch with my feminine side.” In fact, her ribbing him about his feminine skills only made him like her—crazily enough—even more. It was definitely a first for him, having someone not vying for his attention. “My mother wouldn’t have it any other way. After all, women make up fifty percent of my constituents.”

“Ah. That’s right. Always the angle.”

A jingling beat from Anna’s phone rang out. “Crap. That’s my reminder for breakfast. Janie wanted everyone to have a full meal before this morning’s dance lesson and before we head out for the winery tour. The last thing she wants is people passing out drunk after the first winery visit of the day.”

“Full meal or not, a winery tour with a group like this is always asking for disaster. Mark my words. Someone will be three sheets to the wind by lunch.”

Anna came to her feet easily, already recovered, and gave him a funny look. “Three sheets to the wind? What are you, ninety?”

Not one to be shown up, Nick hopped to his own feet. “Voters in the fifty-five-and-over demographic are my highest-voting constituents. Not to mention the older ladies love me.”

She rolled her eyes. “Of course they do.”

He eyed the terrace doors and looked back at her, lifting his brows in a challenge.

“You really want to race again? Hasn’t your ego taken enough of a blow?” she asked.

“Not any more than—” But whatever words he was going to say next were lost in the wind when Anna darted forward, not waiting for the signal as she took off in a sprint.

He didn’t even have a chance.

RELEASE DAY BLITZ ~ Under Siege by Aria Cole

What happens when ten-foot-tall and bulletproof asks you to spend thirty days alone with him?

Tinsley Abernathy never thought she’d have to ask herself that question. And Ash Ford isn’t just any run-of-the-mill, drop-dead-gorgeous stranger, he’s the soldier she’s been exchanging letters with every week for the last three years. And now he’s back in town. And he’s ready to meet her.
After all, Ash has a proposition Tinsley would be crazy to refuse….

Warning: Ash is one sticky, sweet, military muscle-man in camo cargos. He’s set his sights on one woman only, and he won’t stop until her heart is Under Siege.

ONE

Tinsley

“Welcome home, dickhead!” A group of guys erupted into a round of cheers at the bar. My eyes slid across the polished wood table to land on my best friend’s.
“I think it’s time we hit the road.”
Lily huffed, sucking another strawful of her margarita. “Nonsense.” She swiped a hand as if to bat away the silly thought. “We just got here, and you have been talking to this guy for the last three years. I mean, you’ve ditched me for him on Saturday nights, writing those long love letters.”
“I told you, they weren’t love letters. We’re just friends.” The last letter I’d written him rattled through my mind–the one where everything in me had wanted to confess I was falling for him. Only I’d been a coward and scribbled the whole thing out. Now I was thinking my foresight was pretty keen–this group of guys looked like a bunch of wild college guys, certainly not a group my thoughtful, affectionate Ash would be friends with, right? The frown deepened on my face.
Lily huffed, taking another drink. “You should go talk to him, introduce yourself.”
“Yeah…” I glanced over at the crew at the bar. A dozen guys at least. Ash and I had never exchanged a photo while he was away, and we’d had a little vow that we wouldn’t look each other up on social media. I’d kept it, but I wasn’t sure if he had.
I frowned, watching a shorter guy get a round of shots for everyone. “I don’t really care which one he is, to be honest. I don’t think any of them are my type.”
“Well, he was your type for three years when you were writing back and forth every week.”
“Was…” I gnawed down on my bottom lip, thinking I’d made a giant mistake even coming here tonight. Ash and I should have left well enough alone, pen pals while he was deployed with  the navy overseas and nothing more. “I vote we head home and start the next season of Pretty Little Liars.”
“Well…” Lily arched one perfectly manicured brow at me. “I vote you swallow down the rest of that drink while I get us another round.”
I was still shaking my head when she rose from the table, finishing her drink with a wink and then scurrying off to the bar.
I rolled my eyes inwardly, sucking on the end of my straw and wishing Lily and I were curled up on the couch right now with pints of Ben & Jerry’s in hand. I had a feeling Lily wasn’t going to let me off the hook that easily, though. We’d been living together for more than two years now; she’d seen the letters from overseas coming fast and furious. I think she was as nervous and excited about this night as I was.
I groaned, sucking down the last of my drink before standing to make my way to the bathroom. A hard mass of muscle brushed by just as I stepped off the elevated platform. I stumbled, losing my footing and heading for a face-plant on the floor.
“Shit, sorry ’bout that.” A heavy palm wrapped around my elbow and caught me in a graceful spin. Hauled against the chest of one very tall, broad monster of a man, I steadied myself on slabs of pectoral. Lightning sparked through my veins, racing to my toes as I inhaled a quick scent of woodsy cologne. The smell was so hypnotizing that my head began to spin with pure intoxication.
“You okay, Freckles?” Ice-blue eyes caught mine, the hint of a cocky grin playing at the side of his mouth.
“I’m fine. Thanks for catching me.” I pulled away. His palm didn’t leave my elbow, though, like he was following me, insisting on invading my space. “It looked dire for a second there. Thank you,” I whispered, both embarrassed and shy about the situation.
“Pleasure’s all mine.” Those ocean eyes trailed across my face, down my neck, and hovered at the vee of my cleavage. My body prickled with desire under this stranger’s gaze. Sparks burned through my fingertips and hardened my nipples, a slow ache beating like a drum on my nerves. “You here for the party?” His deep yet soft voice reverberated through my body, somehow making me feel that this was the voice I was meant to hear for the rest of my life.
I sucked on my bottom lip, wishing instantly I could disappear. Melt into the floor at his feet. Something about the way he held himself, the look in his eyes as he watched me, made it impossible for my body to ignore. My thighs shifted, and I swallowed the bundle of nerves choking my throat. “I was supposed to meet someone.”
I averted my eyes, not really wanting to explain my circumstances for being there at that moment. “Well, I’m someone.” He thrust out his hand, cocky smile deepening. “Name’s Ash.”
My heart thundered to a halt.
Just like that, the world spun on its axis, and I was left heaving for oxygen and desperate for words.
“Got a name, Freckles?” Ash clasped my hand in his, yanking me against him.
   This was it.
This was the part where I confessed my name. That I was Tinsley, the Tinsley he’d been writing for the last three years. I owed it to him to be open.
My lips parted, the words on my tongue, before something else slipped out altogether. “Freckles has a nice ring to it.”
His gaze jumped from my eyes to my lips. I sucked in a slow breath, his hand tightening at my elbow and hauling me infinitely closer.
“I think so too.” His warm breath washed across my neck, sending chills racing through me.
I had to contain the moan from slipping past my lips.
This man had that thing about him. That thing that drew women to him like honey, and I’d been a fool to think that just because we had three years of letters behind us, we could be anything in real life. Ash was out of my league. I should have picked up on that when he talked about fun-filled vacations with friends and wild parties, but I hadn’t given it much thought because it didn’t matter then.
   It mattered now, though.
A dead weight settled on my shoulders then. He and I were worlds apart, probably never even would have crossed each other’s paths if it weren’t for me reaching out to the military pen pals charity a few years ago.
He was in a desperate time. We were both looking for friendship…
“Hey, Tins! I told him to make yours a double.” Lily chose that moment to burst the small bubble we’d created.
“Tins?” Ash arched an eyebrow with interest. “That short for anything?”
   He knew.
   Shit, he totally knew.
“Uh…” Lily pushed my new drink at me. “I’m Lily, and you are?”
“Ash Ford.” He thrust a hand out and shook Lily’s hand, those icy-blue orbs glued to mine the entire time.
Lily’s eyes grew to the size of saucers. “So, you’re the man of the hour?”
   Ash’s eyebrows rose. “’Spose so.”
“And which one of those fine gentlemen behind you might be willing to buy a girl a drink?” Lily cooed. The realization set in that she was leaving me alone, with Ash, now that she knew who he was.
“Go introduce yourself. Sure you won’t be short on offers,” Ash said.
“Don’t mind if I do.” Lily’s eyes gleamed as she cast me a glance, leaning in to mouth the words, “He’s gorgeous. I’d climb him like a tree if I were you.” I nearly spat out my drink. “Wish me luck!” she called as she sauntered away.
“So,” Ash breathed. “Tins or Freckles, what should I call you?”
I narrowed my gaze at him. The way his eyes did that gleaming thing, making my panties wet and my knees weak, was irritating as hell.
“Nothing to you.” I steeled my spine, setting my drink on the table and making to dash around him and get the hell out of here.
I was in over my head. Dating wasn’t my thing, ever, and this guy was all sorts of intimidating.  I could hardly get a word in; my brain swam with so many thoughts of feeling his body pressed to mine again.
And to think this beautiful, cocky bastard was Ash Ford.
The man I’d unloaded all of my past, dreams, and hopes onto.
“Excuse me.” I barely managed the whisper, defeat lacing my tone as I turned away.
But Ash Ford wasn’t about to make walking away easy.

Excerpt:

“Are we going to have another ‘about last night’ conversation?” I asked.

“If you want to.”

What did I want to say? Everything. but mostly, I wanted to tell him how much I liked kissing him and how conflicted I was. I wanted to demand answers immediately and give him space at the same time.

All the words tried to jump forward, but when he stopped at a light, our eyes met in the rearview. The words landed in a tangle, unsaid.

He tapped the steering wheel when he turned it, using both hands for the first time since I’d gotten in.

“Hey,” I said.

“Yeah?” He briefly looked at me in the mirror.

“What happened to your hand?”

“Burn.” he brushed his left hand over the bandage at the top of his palm, right where you’d burn it if you were picking up a hot pot handle. He caught my eye in the rearview again.

I didn’t know if I believed him.

“What were you cooking?”

“Breakfast.”

“And you still went to get a Danish?”

He rubbed his upper lip with his left hand and tapped the wheel with the bandaged one.

“I burned my eggs.”

Right. Hot pot. Burned hand. Smoke-filled kitchen.

“You know what’s funny?” I said.

The Three Stooges.”

“I don’t know anything about you. You could live in your mother’s basement.”

“That’s just where I bury the bodies.”

Blatant avoidance. It had been cute before; now it was getting on my nerves.

“Are you married?”

“No!”

He could have been lying, buy lying liars always lied. There wasn’t a thing I could do about that except make sure I asked.

Something was wrong. We’d kissed twice, and twice he’d shut down. I should have been the one shutting down. I was the one with all the ex-boyfriend baggage. Why was I the one who was always so willing?

But there he was in the front seat, driving with both hands on the wheel, glancing at me once in a while to make sure I wasn’t choking on my tongue in the back seat. Discomfort radiated out of him.

Here I was with my hands in my lap thinking about ways to kiss him again.

He pulled into the little lot and wedged into a space. He turned off the car, popped his seat belt, and stared at the wheel for a split second too long. I was about to open the car door myself when he turned all the way around, arm over the back of his seat, bandaged hand on the back of the passenger side.

“Kissing you…” He stopped and looked at my lips so intensely I folded them back and bit them. “You’re dangerous. I can’t even see your lips, but I can taste them. I couldn’t brush the taste of you out of my mouth this morning. Right now. The honey. I can taste it but not enough. I want to kiss you again, and I can’t. I lose my shit around you. I can’t do it. My job is control. Do you understand what I’m saying?”

My jaw loosened, and I let my lips go.

“No, I don’t. I’ve met bodyguards before. You’re a stoic bunch, but you’re not all celibate. And if you think this is easy for me, you’re wrong. I’m afraid too. I’m afraid you’re going to get hurt because of me. last night…” I put my fingertips to my lips as if that would keep the choking sob from coming. I kept it back. “Last night he showed me he’s back, and if he’ll hurt me, he’ll hurt you.”

If I thought seats would be a barrier between us, I was wrong. He launched himself between them and placed his lips on mine. Our third kiss was unexpected, uncomfortable with him stretched between front and back. I wove my fingers in his hair, giving him my mouth, and taking his.

I wanted that kiss to tell him it was all right. He could lose control. He could bemore than a protector. He was as safe with me as I was with him. But I couldn’t without lying to both of us.

He yanked his lips away.

“Trust me.” He leaned his forehead against mine.

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: November 21, 2017

Blurb
Grant

I made my first million at sixteen, my first billion before I was thirty. I get what I want how I want it, and I have no problem paying for it, that includes women. Hell, I’ve already been doing it with the women I’ve been dating. They enjoy my credit cards during the day and I’m supposed to be able to enjoy them at night but as the weeks go on the excuses pile up but they still spend my money. So I’m done with dating. It’s time for a woman who knows the deal and signs on the dotted line. I’m looking for a sugar baby, it’s instant lust when I find Anne and see her curves that should come with a warning sign. Until I find out she hasn’t just been a sugar baby before; she’s sold herself by the hour in Las Vegas. It’s one step too far for me, only I can’t stop thinking about her. I find out she had her reasons for what she did, like I have mine. Her past is her past; I want her for what she is now. Besides, this is just sex, a simple exchange for time and money. Except, little by little, it becomes far from simple as I find out money doesn’t buy everything.

Anne

I thought I was done with being a sugar baby, of selling myself for security and a better life than the one I grew up in. Even though I’m a plus size, not a size two, men were more than willing to buy what I was selling. I tried to go white collar, to be normal. For four years I worked my ass off to get a degree in accounting; only, things don’t always go as planned. The instant attraction to Grant is a cherry on top; he’s gorgeous and very generous. Is that why all my rules begin to blur, blend, and break to please him? I’m not ashamed of my past and all I’ve experienced, but it doesn’t prepare me for Grant and all the things he wants and needs from me. I don’t believe in forever, in happily ever after. What happens when he wants more than I give?

“Fifty thousand a month for a year, whether we make it the entire twelve months or not. You’ll also get a credit card for personal use, whatever you want to use it on, no limit.”
Her reaction isn’t what I expect. Taking a step back, she shakes her head. “What are you expecting from me?”
I follow her. “You, all of you. I’m not into kinky shit or anything. You make the rules. I’ll accept what you are willing to give or not give. You don’t do blow jobs, fine, but I’ll need to taste you, that preview in the car wasn’t enough.”
“If you want to.” The words come out of her in a rush. Her grey eyes begin to glow as my hands catch her hips to keep her where I want her, close to me.
“You’ll spread your pussy wide for me to feast when I want.” It’s not a question. I can smell her wet for me; I need to taste her again. Sliding my hands down over her beautiful round ass, I squeeze what has been tempting me.
“Yes, yes.”
Her hips rock against my straining cock.
Fuck, her breathing flutters as she rocks against me again. Needing to know before I tear her clothes off and fuck her where we stand; I almost groan as I ask. “Any other no-gos for the bedroom?”
“Anal.”
“You mentioned it already, I’ll live without it. Tell me more, any other limits?”
Her hand comes up to my arm to steady herself. Her breathing does that thing again, then her other hand is at my waist. Her eyes are hypnotic pools of silver.
Her voice is trembling. “I agree to sex at least three times a week, but I have the right to say no to more than five. The right to my own space and to sleep in it instead of with you. No pimping me out or trying to share me with other men or women. No fondling me in front of people. No discussing our arrangement publicly, if you talk to your friends about it privately I’m fine, but just not putting it on blast to just anyone.”
“When you say three times, is that each time I fuck you or every time I take you.” Fuck, she’s panting for me to be inside her. Her hands go around my neck then pull me down to her mouth.
“Take me.”
She groans into my mouth.
Clinging to my last shred of sanity I ask the last question that matters, “Are you protected? I fuck bare and I want to come inside you.”
“Yes, yes.”
She moans as she presses her breasts against my chest.
“You’re mine.” It’s not a question. Question time is over.

Author Bio

Due to commitment issues I have lived in many different cities and my favorite is Chicago but I have managed to settle into Austin and perhaps my commitment issues are behind me.

I have enjoyed reading from a very young age and it wasn’t long before the children books bored me and I read the books my mother enjoyed Stephen King and Dean Koontz and I didn’t sleep without the light on until I was about ten.

I came across my first Harlequin by accident and it was love at first read, no one died and happy endings? It was a whole new world and I loved it.

I wrote my first story at eight and everyone died, of course. Since then I would like to think I’ve gotten better and now I’m writing the happily ever afters I first fell in love with, with some hot sex thrown in along the way.

SPIDER-FINAL-FULL

Spider, a sexy and forbidden new standalone, is available NOW!

Title: Spider
Author: Ilsa Madden-Mills

Publication Date: November 13th, 2017

From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills comes a new standalone romance about a flawed hero and the woman he can’t forget.

“She crossed my path and changed my whole direction.”

He calls himself Spider.

I just knew him as the sinfully gorgeous guy with eyes of fire that fate sat next to me on the airplane.

I didn’t know who he really was…British rock star…my stepbrother.

He kissed me because he thought we’d never see each other again. We would.

Everyone warned me about him.

They told me he was ruthless and cold and screwed up.

They said he’d leave me with a hole in my heart.

Maybe I should have listened.

Maybe I should have built up a fortress to keep him out.

But I crumbled instead.

They say an unbreakable thread connects those who are destined to meet. If that’s true, then the moment he sat next to me, we were bound together forever.

He just had to figure it out before it’s too late…

Excerpt:

How can one human man be so hot?

Spider sits on my toilet, shirtless, while I dab at his swollen eye. I’m doing my best to keep my eyes averted from the ink on his body, the way his tattoos swirl underneath his jeans, the way his chest is carved from stone.

Of course, I’m the stupid person who suggested he remove his shirt so I could see if he has any bruising on his chest. A cracked or broken rib can cause a lot of pain, and I want to be thorough, that’s all—I swear to baby Jesus.

He grinned at my request and whipped it off—which is the reason I’m now a mess.

There’s hardly any room to breathe with him in my small bathroom.
I wipe at the spot of blood on his cheek as he watches me stoically, never taking his eyes off me, tracking my every movement.

“This will look worse tomorrow,” I murmur, just to ease the tension. I stand between his spread legs, acutely aware of his fresh scent, his pure magnetism. My hands shake and I have to focus to push an image of me straddling him, both of us naked, out of my head. I want to run my tongue over the tattoo on his neck. I want to bite him like an animal while he—

Good grief, Rose, stop the fantasy!

“You’d make a good nurse,” he says softly, his long black lashes fluttering softly against his chiseled cheekbones.

“Doctor of Psychology,” I correct him.

“Your dream?”

“Yes.” Although right now I’m dreaming of him…
“I know that feeling. That’s how music is to me.” His golden-brown eyes watch me as I reach over to the medicine cabinet for more antiseptic and antibacterial cream, my chest perilously close to his face. I swear my nipples are reaching for him.

“Why psychology?”

I nod, pretending like I’m not all discombobulated. “My granny mainly. She loved to read people—literally. She ran a little palm-reading business out of her home before she died. All the old ladies of the neighborhood would come to see her. She’d make them coffee and they’d just…talk. She’d tell them what they needed to hear while I sat on the floor next to her and listened. There wasn’t any magic involved of course.” I laugh. “But…she was incredibly intuitive. She just got people. If someone twitched or looked left or right while they were talking, she’d have a reason for it and she’d tell me all about it after they left.”

“I think I would have loved your granny.” He curls an arm around me, tugging me close until my chest is a hair’s breadth away from his face. I recall our epic kiss on the plane. I feel the pressure of his taut thighs and my breath quickens as desire unfurls inside me.

A hum warms my blood. I want him—desperately.

And it’s entirely foolish.

He’s my stepbrother.

He doesn’t call girls back.

“Why does it seem like I’ve known you forever?” I ask, feeling myself gravitating closer.

He thinks about it, pushing a piece of hair out of my eyes. Cupping my nape, he pulls me in tighter until our noses meet. The back of his hand caresses my cheek and the heat from his touch burns, yet there’s a tautness in the roped muscles of his arms, as if he’s holding himself in check.

“Because I am you,” he says softly. “We’re so much alike, it’s staggering.” He pauses and stares deep into my eyes.

I nod. I can’t think. He’s so close to me, his eyes burning into mine.
He closes his eyes and exhales. “I want you, Rose. You’re intoxicating.”

I suck in a sharp breath, our lips inches apart.

Is he going to kiss me? I want him to.

His eyes open after the silence has gone on too long, a smirk forming around his mouth. “You scared of me, Rose?”

Never.

“I’m scared you’ll rip my heart out.”

He stares at the LOST tattoo on his hand. “I probably will.”

Rock Solid
by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde

Publication Date: November 14th, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Connor Prescott doesn’t do one night stands (yes, ladies, he’s an anomaly) so when he meets a beautiful woman during a snowed in night at the airport who wants to forget her heartache, he makes an exception. Their night together is incendiary, and by morning Connor wants more . . . except his sexy stranger is gone. He’s pretty sure he’ll never see her again, until three and a half years later she finds him, and changes his entire world with three little words . . . You’re a daddy.

Excerpt:

Connor scrolled through the list of movies on pay-per-view for the tenth time, not sure what Katie might be in the mood for. He’d raided the mini bar as promised, and all the junk food loot was on the coffee table awaiting their impromptu slumber party. He was just waiting, albeit impatiently, to find out if Katie was going to join him or not. After her emotionally draining day, he wasn’t sure she was going to be up to hanging out, and as much as he’d understand that decision, the thought mostly disappointed him.

When he heard the door to her bedroom open, a flood of relief coursed through him. “So, what are you in the mood for?” he asked, anxious for her to join him and hoping that she sat on the same sofa as he did instead of the single chair opposite the couch—Jesus, what was he, fourteen? “We’ve got our choice between a romantic comedy, action adventure, or a horror flick.”

“None of those,” she said, her voice soft and husky as she approached from his peripheral vision. “The only thing I’m in the mood for is . . . you.”

Certain that he’d heard Katie wrong, he turned his head to glance at her. His jaw dropped open in shock as he stared at the stunning, erotic vision standing a few feet away from him, dressed in a sinful red ensemble that screamed fuck me, please. Unsure as to what was going on—was he being cruelly punked right now?—his entire body went rigid, including his dick, as he desperately tried to clear the lust that was quickly fogging his brain.

He managed to close his mouth, but that only made his jaw clench achingly tight as he fought off the urge to do something stupid, like push her down to the couch and give free rein to the attraction they’d both been skirting. Jesus, he couldn’t tear his eyes away from her and the see-through lingerie that exposed more than it covered, teasing him mercilessly. The sheer underwire cups pushed her generous breasts up like an offering, barely containing all that mouthwatering fullness, and her tight, rosy nipples pushed against the thin, lacy fabric. The skirt of the short gown draped over her midsection like a veil, sheer enough for him to see the indentation of her waist and flare of her hips, and a pair of tiny red matching panties he wanted to tear off of her with his teeth.

He swore beneath his breath, and when she made a soft, uncertain noise in the back of her throat, he jerked his gaze back up to hers. He caught a quick glimpse of apprehension shimmering in those big brown eyes, which contradicted the bold, brazen woman currently standing in front of him.

“Maybe this was a really stupid idea,” she said in a voice that cracked with a wealth of doubts, right before she turned back around and rushed toward her bedroom in a blur of red material that swirled around her waist and thighs.

Realizing that she believed his hesitation was because he didn’t want her, Connor jumped to his feet and reached Katie before she made it halfway across the living room. He caught her around the waist with a strong arm and hauled her up against his body, her back to his front—and quickly realized what a huge mistake that was.

She valiantly struggled to break free of his hold, the curve of her delectable ass shifting and wriggling against the thick length of his cock already straining the zipper of his jeans. He gritted his teeth at the onslaught of lust racing through his blood, threatening to eradicate his self-control and any rational decisions he needed to make. And the situation definitely called for him to remain level-headed so he could think with his brain and not his unruly dick.

She tried to push away his arm one last time, but when it didn’t budge, she made a frustrated sound. “Just let me go, Connor,” she said, her voice defeated and so damn vulnerable. “Please.”

He wasn’t releasing her until he knew she was okay. “Katie—”

“Don’t make this any worse than it already is,” she said, cutting him off, her entire body still unyielding against his. “I must have misread your interest, and I don’t think I can handle getting rejected twice in one day.”

Aww, fuck. The very last thing he felt for her was disinterest, but he didn’t want to take advantage of her or the situation, either. He released her and turned Katie so that she was facing him, hating the wariness in her gaze. She looked like she was going to bolt again, and he wasn’t about to let that happen until they got a few things straight. With his hands gripping her hips so she couldn’t go anywhere, at least not easily, he backed her up a few steps, until she was trapped between him and the wall.

The impulse to run his hands up the indentation of her waist to the breasts nearly spilling out of her flimsy top was so strong and so distracting he had to place his palms safely on the wall on either side of her shoulders. She tipped her head back to look up at him, and he nearly smiled when he saw the earlier doubts that had been clouding her gaze were now replaced with a stubborn attitude that turned him on way too much.

“First of all, you didn’t misread anything,” he told her. “You surprised the fuck out of me, because I didn’t expect you to come out of your room looking like a goddamn sex kitten. And secondly, I’m not rejecting you personally.”

Her chin lifted obstinately. “Just what I’m offering?”

The corner of his mouth quirked at the impudent tone of her voice, and before he could think better of it, he touched one of the soft, blonde strands of hair that fell to the swell of her breasts. He rubbed the silky texture between his fingers, immediately imagining how it would feel to have his entire hand wrapped around the length. Tugging. Pulling. Her gasping. Moaning. Begging.

The heady images in his head fueled his growing hunger for her. “What, exactly, are you offering, Valentine?” he murmured, knowing he was torturing himself but beyond caring any longer.

She rolled her eyes at him. “Isn’t it obvious?”

He watched as her tongue dampened her bottom lip, spurring more dirty thoughts to fill his head. “Tell me,” he said, the words a gentle demand. “Just so it’s clear for both of us.”

She hesitated for a moment, as if gathering up the nerve, then spoke. “Remember that fantasy I told you about earlier? The sex-with-a-stranger-in-a-hotel-room fantasy?”

How could he forget something like that? “Yes.”

She exhaled a breath. “That’s all I want. No last names. No personal information. Just a night of hot, mindless sex.”

Yeah, that sounded damn good, except he was already coming to want so much more than that with her.

Love on the Edge of Time, an all-new stand-alone story about a love too

Love on the Edge of Time
by Julie A. Richman

Publishing Date: November 13th, 2017

He likes whiskey and wild women

She likes Ben & Jerry’s

He’s about to get kicked out of his own band

She ate her way off the Miss America pageant circuit

What could these two possibly have in common?

A psychiatrist

A lot of unresolved issues

A whole bunch of shared lifetimes

And a love that is never-ending

As bad boy rocker, Jesse Winslow, and former pageant queen, Kylie Martin, each fight the demons screwing up their lives, the one person who holds the key to healing their ills and reuniting two souls that have searched for one another, lifetime after lifetime, is the only one who knows the whole truth.

And keeping that truth from them may just be in preeminent psychiatrist Dr. Claire Stoddard’s best interests.

Claire has committed the ultimate sin in the medical world. She’s fallen for the one man she’s forbidden to love.

Her patient, Jesse Winslow.

And she’s not about to lose him to Kylie Martin… Again.

Excerpt:

This time he didn’t text. He just called, waking her at two-fifteen a.m.

“Bare-ly dressed again tonight?”

Her laugh, filled with sleep was gruff. “Barely dressed every night.”

“What exactly do you have on?”

“A pink tank top and pink silk bikini.”

“Take them off,” he ordered.

“Excuse me,” there was an element of surprise in Kylie’s voice.

“You heard me. Take them off. Now.” Just hearing rustling on the other end of the line, he could feel his cock stiffen and it felt damn good after all this time. Baby, I’m back, he thought.

“We’re having phone sex? But, Jesse, we haven’t even kissed yet,” her protest was weak. And even she knew it.

“Yes, we’re having phone sex, and when I get back to New York, we’re going to do a lot more than kiss. You’ve friend-zoned me, Toots, and I’m busting out.”

Kylie was smiling on her end of the phone. Friend-zoned Jesse Fucking Winslow? Was he serious? “Nobody puts Jesse in a friend-zone,” she couldn’t help herself.

“Are they off?” He totally ignored her joke.

“Mmm-hmm.”

“What was that?” he asked, his voice gruff and serious.

“Yes, they’re off.”

“Okay, spread your legs, and with your phone, take a picture of your pussy for me.”

“Seriously?” She knew she was blushing in the dark.

“Take the picture, Kylie.”

“Okay, but if you sell this to the paparazzi, I will kill you.” There was a rustling sound, then, “Oh, my God, I can’t believe I’m doing this.”

He laughed.

“Okay, here it comes. I hope it’s photogenic. It would be really embarrassing to have a non-photogenic pussy.”

Pulling the phone from his ear to look, Kylie could hear his moan, exciting her even more.

“So photogenic, Toots, just like the rest of you. And I love the red landing strip. It’s so hot. Oh, man, I love this. Spread your legs wider and use one hand to spread your lips open for me and send me another.”

Following his directions, she did as he requested.

 Excerpt :

“I’d like a try.” It was the stranger with the green eyes.

Hot damn.

Of course the night would ramp up right when I announced I was leaving. I looked up at him expectantly, but he didn’t approach. I realized he was waiting for my invitation. He was definitely new. Everyone else knew Miss T was one of the most ready and willing participants in the room—to the point where some tried to take advantage of it. I never needed to issue invitations, but I often needed to reinforce boundaries.

“What are you waiting for, then?” I sat up straighter, ignoring Chuck’s grunt of complaint.

The stranger came forward with slow, swaggering steps. When he reached me, he loosened his bowtie a little before lowering himself to one knee at my side. He placed his arm next to mine on the chair, his fingers barely grazing my skin. Goosebumps sprouted up my forearm all the way to my neck, and he hadn’t even bent in to whisper yet.

And then he did. His breath skated over the shell of my ear, and my heart tripped unexpectedly in my chest.

How long had it been since that had happened from just the feel of someone breathing against me?

“I’m going to kiss you one way or another tonight,” he said, low and with such surety a shiver ran down my spine. “It’s your decision whether it’s now or later.”

So. Not just a voyeur then.

He sat back to study my features. My jaw was slack, and I scanned his expression, searching for a hidden motivation. My body tingled from head to toe. I was used to men—strangers—wanting me. I was used to them approaching me. I was used to them telling me how much they desired me.

Why was this man so different?

Maybe it was because those other men always looked everywhere in the room. When their eyes landed on me, I knew I was just one of many options.

This man…

He’d looked around the room. I’d watched him throughout the night. But nothing had interested him. I could tell by the way he was still wearing his jacket, by the way his eyes were only now beginning to dilate as they stared into mine.

He’d studied the room and decided nothing here had interested him but me.

That was definitely not the kink that usually got me off. That was Cinderella-story kind of kink. The fairytale kink with a happy ending was traditional, but a kink all the same—being chased. Being placed on a gilded pedestal. I never wanted to be somebody’s Only One in the Room. I liked having my own space. I liked being able to disappear when I wanted. I liked not having chains or boundaries. I was turning thirty-five soon. I wasn’t a starry-eyed teenager anymore. I knew what I wanted from life and love and relationships and sex. And it wasn’t a pedestal.

RELEASE BLITZ ~ Dax (Bad Boys of Willow Valley) by Shannyn Leah

Title: Dax
(Bad Boys of Willow Valley)
Author: Shannyn Leah

Genre: Contemporary Small Town Romance

About Dax:

Dax is the first book in Willow Valley’s Bad Boy stand-alone series. These hot contemporary romance books feature alpha males heroes and strong, independent women.

Fall in love with Dax Coyln, a volunteer firefighter and hard ass mechanic for his restoration business. He’s strong, solid, independent, until tragedy strikes that could tear him to the ground.

It’s hard to resist a Good Man who’s a Bad Boy

Dax Colyn is one of the bad boys of Willow Valley. A fearless volunteer firefighter and hard ass mechanic, he makes all the woman swoon and he likes it that way. He keeps people at a distance since his mother died. He doesn’t want to let anyone in, much less a woman he knows he could fall in love with

Ava Anderson keeps people away, too. Haunted by her tortured past and constantly fearful of the future, it’s only her daughter Olivia and Dax’s dad Rowdy that she’s let in.

But when tragedy strikes, it pushes Dax and Ava together, forcing them both to let go of their fears. They soon learn how hard it is to keep pretending and how easy it is to let others in. Especially when those people are family.

BONUS EXCERPT :

“Dax?” She’d moved directly beside him and he felt her warmth radiate near his arm. “Rowdy says you haven’t gone back to the hospital for a follow up on your shoulder.”

She set the princess-patterned bag on his desk before he could reply, not that he needed to answer her. They both knew he hadn’t gone back to see the doctor. He hated hospitals.

A couple weeks back on their way back to the station after dousing a farm fire, the new guy had driven off the road and flipped the fire truck on its side, sending all five of the men to the hospital. Had the ambulance driver not given him a choice, he wouldn’t have gone in the first place.

Big deal. Firefighters got muscle sprains all the time. Although his shoulder was being a pain and not healing. He should have gone for the follow up, but he could scrounge up a thousand excuses to hold it off, too.

Ava unzipped Olivia’s knapsack and pulled out a container of gel. “Let me see your shoulder.” Her teacher’s tone again. Damn woman.

“Ava—”

“I didn’t ask. Take off your shirt, Dax.”

He leaned back in his chair to get a better look at her. He put on his famously seductive grin and tapered his eyes. “I’ve been trying to get you out of your shirt for years and you think you can come into my office and, after one demand, think I’m going to just strip for you? Do you think I’m that easy?”

Her lips curved upwards. “You are that easy.”

“Take yours off,” he retorted.

Her jaw tightened, as did the grip on the jar in her hands. Humor swept away, her eyes didn’t waver from his, and he watched desire heat up in them. The attraction between them resonated around the four walls of his office and he knew sex with her would be mind-blowing. Except, he’d never sleep with her. He couldn’t. As much as he teased and flirted, at the end of the day, they didn’t mix. Hot and cold. Water and fire. Besides, his dad would whoop him good and serve him up for dinner if it ever went that far.

Ava’s fingers grasped the edge of her blue and white plaid blouse and hiked the material high enough to see her naval.

Goddamit. They were in his office and the wall overlooking the shop was encased with windows.

He caught her wrist, conflicted with wanting more, all of her and not wanting any of her at all.

“Alright,” he growled, pulling her shirt back down over her denim shorts.

He stood up, ignoring what looked a hell of a lot like hurt in her eyes and yanked his own black T-shirt over his head. He balled it up, frustration invading his hands and tossed it onto his desk.

“If I’d known it was that easy to get your shirt off, I would have flashed my sprained shoulder a helluva long time ago.”

One thing was for certain, the teasing had to end. She’d never given an inch and today she’d have given a whole damn foot.

About the Author

Author Shannyn Leah loves olives, lip gloss and reading (and writing) romance novels. Her love of words started at an early age and soon grew until, during her teenage years, she’d started writing her own novels. When her mom pushed to finally publish some of the stories, she quickly amassed two complete romance series (By The Lake and Caliendo Resort series) and, in 2016, released her first Fantasy Romance entitled The Gatekeepers (Part One of the Winters Rising series).

When she’s not writing contemporary romance books into the early hours of the morning, Shannyn can be found antiquing with her two favorite people, her momma and sister, in their picturesque London, Ontario hometown.

Shannyn would love to get to know her readers as you get to know her (just don’t send her any carrots!)
