Release Blitz – Wait For Me by Alexis Noelle

Title: Wait For Me
Author: Alexis Noelle
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 27, 2015
I’ve never been one for relationships and commitment. I get what I needed from girls but that’s where it ends. At least that was how it is supposed to be. Until that one night with Nicole changed everything. She is the only girl who has ever made me want more, and I hate it.

I have wanted more of Jason since the one night that we spent together. He has occupied my every dream and invaded my every though. He just needs to let me in and stop fighting it so much. I’m determined to show him exactly what he is missing. I’ll wait for him, but not forever.

What do you do when your whole world is turned upside down? When everything comes crumbling down around you, will you have the will to fight and break down the wall?

Wait For Me was originally Breaking Through The Wall and part of the Guarded Hearts Series. The story has been changed a bit and re-edited to make it a standalone novel.

**Wait For Me is for mature audiences only—strong language, and explicit sexual content are apparent.**
I tell Jason that he will be on his own the rest of the day. I am going to go to the mall and do some shopping.

“Can I come?”

He wants to go shopping with me? “Um…I guess, if you want to.”

We get dressed and head off to the mall. My purpose for coming today isn’t really because I need anything. However, my dad gave me a monthly credit card allowance, so I might as well put it to good use. I decide that maybe I will have some fun playing dress up for Jason today.

I take him into one of my favorite stores and have him sit on the chair outside of the dressing room. The first dress I try on is a short black one. It is strapless and looks pretty modest from the front, but when I turn around, the back of the dress dips into a V that stops just above my butt. When I turn around and look back, his face is priceless. This is definitely going to be fun.

I am trying on about my sixth dress, when the curtain to the changing room is pulled back. Jason walks in and immediately closes it back behind him. He closes the short distance between us and has me backed against the wall of the room. “J, What are you doing in here?!” I whisper at him, completely in shock that he is here. I only have the next dress halfway up my body right now, so my breasts are completely exposed.

“I can’t watch you walk out there in one more of those dresses. I need you now, I can’t wait.”

“Jason, I don’t think—” Before I can finish my sentence, he crashes his mouth against mine, and starts to slip off the remainder of the dress I had been trying on.
Alexis Noelle lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her husband, and three kids. On top a writing career, she is a full-time student and a full-time mom. Heartbreaker.

I understand why I have the nickname. Hey, what can I say? I like women. All women. It doesn’t matter what shape, size, or color. I’m even into sharing. I’ve done it all, seen it all, but I’m at an all-time low. Who wouldn’t be? My best friend is missing. My uncle’s an asshole. I don’t know who I am without The Nights. We are a band of brothers, soldiering through the world with our music. Only, our faithful leader is gone, and everyone else in the band is falling for the oldest trap: love. Love is a lie. It is painful. It is hurtful.

I need a break. I want to be alone. I’m not prepared to share the exclusive home on the Island. I’m not prepared for her. I don’t know who she is or why she’s here. She tells me to call her Ireland. I tell her my first name only. Originally, I don’t want to believe she doesn’t recognize me. Bass guitarist for The Nights, come on? After a while we both play the game. Secrets are another form of lies, aren’t they?

Our fantasy will crash to reality too soon. Secrets catch up to you. The truth has to be told. It confirms what I already know: love is a lie.

Until her.

The
Truth of Tristan Lyons
excerpt © L.B. Dunbar
I wanted to know who she was. Scratch that, I didn’t care who she was. I wanted
to know how she got in the house. Damn these fangirls, sometimes.  They knew no shame.
“Hey,”I said grabbing her upper arm. “How did you get in here?”
She seemed caught unaware of my approach and screamed loudly, pushing at my chest
hard enough, the sheer surprise forced me to let go of her.
With her hand on her chest and her breasts rising and falling in great agitation, I
was able to see her big blue eyes and the sprinkle of freckles across her nose. Her chin length blonde hair fell forward as she bent to clasp her knees and catch her breath.
Standing up almost as quickly as she bent over, she spoke to me through delicious
looking pink lips.
“Who the fuck are you?” she growled.
“Who the fuck, are you?” I returned.
“I’m…”
“You know what, never mind. You need to go,” I said, cutting her off and reaching
for her upper arm again. “I don’t know how you got in here, where you came
from, or how you found me, but you need to go.”
I began to tug her toward the front entry, her feet sliding in her flip-flops
across the tile flooring. She pulled back, and the force made her skid on an
angle across the slippery surface as I dragged her. She continued to glare at
me quizzically, leaning away from me.
“I don’t know what you are talking about?”
“Did you follow me, is that it? See me in the airport?”
“What?”
“Okay, I love you too, now you need to go. Okay?”
“What are you talking about?”
“Don’t pretend you don’t know who I am?”
“I don’t.”
I stopped, still holding firmly to her arm. Something in her voice sounded like
she was being serious.
“I’m Tristan.”
She blinked, confusion clearly on her face. I was thoughtful for a moment. It was
the innocence in her blue eyes, and the fact she looked like she might cry.
Something wasn’t right with this scenario.
“Trist– an,” I said slowly, as if she had some type of hearing impairment.
“Who?”
I narrowed my eyes at her.
“What kind of music do you listen to?”
“Country,” she answered so quickly, she didn’t even blink an eye or stop for thought. On
top of that, she said it in such a way that showed she was thoroughly confused,
and almost disgusted with me, for even asking such a ridiculous question. She wrinkled
her nose.
“Look, I know the owner, and you shouldn’t be here.”
“I know the owner,” I repeated, “and you shouldn’t be here.”
“I’m not leaving,” she said, pulling at her own arm again and sticking out a hand to
press against my chest as leverage. I had tugged my shirt off at some point
while I was passed out, and her warm hand felt good on my air-conditioned cool
skin. Her hand was tiny, I noticed. All of her was thin.
“I’m supposed to be here. Alone,” I emphasized again.
She didn’t respond, so I added, “I think I’ll just call the owner myself, to see
where the mix up is.”
“No,” she blurted, stopping in her physical struggle against me. Her eyes opened even
wider, if that was possible, and her face was suddenly full of something I
couldn’t read. Her blue eyes brightened in a frightening sort of way. Was that
fear? Good, she should be afraid.
“Please. I swear. I’m allowed to be here. You don’t need to call Isa.”
She had me. I didn’t really know who Isa was, and the girl sounded confident enough
that I let her call my bluff.
“If there is a mistake, and you were scheduled to stay as well, I won’t complain.
As a matter of fact, I won’t even be in your way. You won’t even know I’m here.
I plan to keep to myself.”  Her eyes were
glassy, and again I worried she was about to cry.
I released her arm and she pulled it back quickly. She fisted the hand of that
arm, holding it against her chest. She began rubbing her upper arm with the
opposite hand. I noticed again that she was thin, as were her breasts. I didn’t
care for small chested girls. I didn’t care for her.
“Well, I’m Tristan, whom you claim to not know, and you are?”
“I’m…Ireland.”
“Ireland what?”
“Just…Ireland.”
I shook my head.
“So this is how we’re going to play it? Fine, my Irish Isle. What are you doing in
the Caymans?”
She looked at me for a moment, then leaned toward me and sniffed. She held the
disgusted expression on her face and wrinkled her nose as she pulled back.
“Probably the same thing as you.”
“Drinking myself into oblivion?” I laughed, crossing my arms over my bare chest
defensively.

“Hiding,” she replied.

Author Bio

L.B. Dunbar loves to read to the point it might be classified as an addiction. The past few years especially she has relished the many fabulous YA authors, the new genre of New Adult, traditional romances, and historical romances. A romantic at heart, she’s been accused of having an overactive imagination, as if that was a bad thing. Author of the Sensations Collection, Sound Advice, Taste Test, Fragrance Free, Touch Screen, and Sight Words, she is also author of the Legendary Rock Star series, beginning with The Legend of Arturo King. She grew up in Michigan, but has lived in Chicago for longer, calling it home with her husband and four children.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I’d like to say I was always a writer. I’d also like to say that I wrote every day of my life since a child. That I took the teaching advice I give my former students because writing every day improves your writing. I’d like to say I have my ten-thousand hours that makes me a proficient writer. But I can’t say any of those things. I did dream of writing the “Great American Novel” until one day a friend said: Why does it have to be great? Why can’t it just be good and tell a story?

As a teenager, I wrote your typical love-angst poetry that did occasionally win me an award and honor me with addressing my senior high school class at our Baccalaureate Mass. I didn’t keep a journal because I was too afraid my mom would find it in the mattress where I kept my copy of Judy Blume’s Forever that I wasn’t allowed to read as a twelve year old.

I can say that books have been my life. I’m a reader. I loved to read the day I discovered “The Three Bears” as a first grader, and ever since then, the written word has been my friend. Books were an escape for me. An adventure to the unknown. A love affair I’d never know. I could be lost for hours in a book.

So why writing now? I had a story to tell. It haunted me from the moment I decided if I just wrote it down it would go away. But it didn’t. Three years after writing the first draft, a sign (yes, I believe in them) told me to fix up that draft and work the process to have it published. That’s what I did. But one story let to another, and another, and another. Then a new idea came into my head and a new storyline was created.

I was accused (that’s the correct word) of having an overactive imagination as a child, as if that was a bad thing. I’ve also been accused of having the personality of a Jack Russell terrier, full of energy, unable to relax, and always one step ahead. What can I say other than I have stories to tell and I think you’ll like them. If you don’t, that’s okay. We all have our book boyfriends. We all have our favorites. Whatever you do, though, take time for yourself and read a book.

I twist my bangs back away from my face and pin them in place before washing off today’s makeup. I feel completely plain without it, but it’s also refreshing to be rinsed clean and I know present company doesn’t mind. Speaking of which, I’m glad I get to keep him for the night. I love it when that happens. We don’t exactly make a habit of it, but I always sleep better cocooned in his arms. It makes me feel like I’m his. I guess in some ways I am, even though I’m not. I certainly don’t belong to anyone else. I can’t imagine ever being with anyone else—even if being with Trevor without actually being with Trevor one day breaks my heart.
I shake the thought away, aware that I’m starting to think too much. He’s here, now, and that’s what he can give me. Besides that, it’s more than anyone else gets. This is how it is between us. It works.
I stop just inside the doorway of my bedroom, caught off guard by what awaits. Or should I say, who? I have to stifle a small gasp at the sight of him—not because I’m startled by his change in appearance, but because he leaves me breathless. He’s so damn mesmerizing I can’t help but stare. Every. Time.
At this point, I think it’s safe to assume I’ll never get used to the masterpiece that he is, and that’s more than fine.
It’s quite apparent that he has endured the confines of his dress attire for as long as he can stand it. I can’t mourn the lost image of him all spruced up, not when I have the image of him all stripped down to admire. All he has on is a pair of gym shorts. He keeps a pair stowed away in my dresser for nights like these. He’s sitting at the window, which he has opened, with one leg straddling the bench and the other bent in front of him so that he might rest his beer atop his knee.
Trevor isn’t built like an athlete. He isn’t bulky with muscle. He isn’t lanky, like me, either. He’s made up of lean, toned lines that whisper of the physical power that makes him all man. But his inner strength? All the vulnerable and fragile pieces of him that make him so strong, the pieces of him that I love so much, that’s what catches my eye.
He wears his heart on his sleeve. Literally. The world might not know it, but I do. I know that every inch of ink that covers his beautiful skin tells his story. The tattoo on his left arm stretches from his wrist all the way up to his shoulder and spills over his heart. I can’t see it now, because of the way he’s sitting, but I know he’s got script tattooed down his left side across his ribs. Finally, his right arm is adorned in a half sleeve. I say finally not as a way to express finality, but simply the end of his list for now. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to learn that he’s dreaming of more.
“Daph! Your beer’s getting warm!” he yells, his gaze still directed out the window.
I grin, partly because I love how he knows I hate it when my beer gets even the slightest bit warm; partly because he hasn’t noticed me standing here staring at him. “I’m right here,” I say as I continue to make my way into the room. I speak softly, but I startle him just the same.
“Shit, Wings—” he mutters, spitting out his nickname for me as he jumps. He has to snatch up his beer as his leg shoots out in front of him. I laugh and grab my half empty bottle from off of the edge of the bookshelf where he’s lined up our reserve. “How long were you standing there?”
“Not long,” I lie. I sit opposite of him, bending my knees and propping my feet up.
“Sure,” he murmurs, shaking his head at me in disbelief. I smirk in response.
Now this is one of those moments where, if we were in a movie or a romance novel, he’d crawl across the bench and kiss me. But this isn’t a fairy tale and he won’t kiss me because I won’t let him. We can’t go there. What he and I share, it works because we don’t go there. As crazy as it might sound, our restraint excites me. Simply knowing that he feels it, too, makes this moment more intimate than not.
He brings his beer up to his lips and tilts his head back as he empties the remaining contents into his mouth. As he sucks out every last drop, he watches me watch him and I get lost in his oval eyes. His irises are in a glorious state of confusion, unsure of whether or not they are blue or green. His hair struggles with the same color dilemma, his dark blonde locks sometimes appearing light brown, depending on how the light hits them.
For just a second, I imagine running my fingers through his soft, loose, curls. Or, at least, I consider them curls; or they would be—big, beautiful, silky curls—if he grew his hair out longer. I know he won’t. He likes to keep his slightly shaggy, fuck-me-now mane just long enough to entice you to do just that. Except, we won’t be doing that, either.
His gaze is still locked with mine. He’s teasing me. I know it. He knows it—but this is our game. I can’t look away first. If I do, he’s won. So instead, I bring my beer to my lips, tilt my head back, and drink, all the while watching him watch me.
When we’re both finished, he stands and takes my empty bottle before leaning down to kiss my neck, just below my ear. “You win, Wings,” he murmurs. I grin, feeling victorious. “But you left the bottle opener in the kitchen. I’ll be right back.” He kisses me once more as a reward and then turns to leave.

Author Bio

R.C. Martin finds it a bit awkward referring to herself in the third person, so she’s only going to do it for this one sentence. (We all know who’s writing this bio anyway!)

I’m a born and bred Coloradan. I will always claim that square state as my home! While I now reside in Virginia, the land of the Rocky Mountains is where I’ve left a piece of my heart and where my characters come to life. I’m a woman in love with love and filled to the brim with compassion for women like me, on a journey to find themselves in today’s society. I aspire to inspire my readers to do more than settle. I hope that my writing will remind everyone that she (or he!) is valuable and worthy of the best kind of love–the kind that is gentle, patient, faithful, passionate, all consuming, never ending, and leaves you breathless.

When I’m not writing I’m reading; when I’m not reading I’m writing…you know how it goes! I also enjoy cooking, baking, crocheting, and jigsaw puzzles. Basically, I’m an old soul with a young heart, nonchalantly waiting for my prince to come.

Excerpt:

“I’m going in now. Good night. Your dinner is…up there.”
I turned, looking back in the direction of her voice and I saw it. A plate was perched on the top of the wide top rail of our fence, waiting for me.
“Hey, wait!” I yelled, picking up my chair, and heading to the fence. Reaching up, I grabbed the covered plate, wondering how she managed to get it up there.
“Enjoy your dinner, neighbor.” I knew from the distant sound of her voice, she was already at her door.
“Nathan!” I blurted out.
“I’m sorry?”
“My name is Nathan.”
“Nice to meet you, Nathan. Enjoy your dinner and have a nice evening.”
“No, wait! You can’t go in and not tell me your name!” I pleaded.
There was a tiny sigh. “Kourtney. My name is Kourtney—spelled with a K.”
A grin tugged at my lips. Even her name was soft.
“Well, nice to meet you, Kourtney, spelled with a K. Whatever this meal is, I know it’ll be great.”

“You’re really purdy,” she slurred with a lopsided grin, running her finger down my cheek.
“That’s it. No more drinks for you,” I said, dragging the glass away from her.
“No! I’ve only had three,” she said as she lurched forward, pulling the drink out of my hands.
“I’m enjoying myself. I’ve had a bitch of a week and I deserve to let loose a little.”
I held my hands up. “You’ve actually had four martinis, but anything you want, princess.”
Her eyes grew into little slits. “I’m not your princess,” she slurred, sounding completely adorable.
My cheeks hurt as I smiled. “I’m going to take you home now. I think you need to sleep it off.”
“Last time I checked,” she said before hiccupping, “you’re not my daddy.” A slow smile crept across her face. She scooted closer and whispered, “Unless that’s your thing.” She tried to wink, but both eyes closed, one after the other.
I leaned into her space, a breath away from her lips. “It’s not my thing, but I’m happy to act out your fantasies. But I don’t think you want to cross that line. Once you go there, there’s no going back.” I stared into her eyes.
“Oooh.” Her eyes grew wide. “Is that supposed to scare me, Mr. DeLuca?”
I didn’t move. “I’m just giving you fair warning. You’ve had a few drinks, and I won’t take advantage of that. I’m just telling you how it is.”
“You’re full of yourself.” Her warm, sweet breath caressed my lips as she spoke.
All I wanted to do was reach out, pull her face to mine, and kiss her full, beautiful lips. “I’m sure of myself and confident in my abilities, yes. That’s entirely different than being full of myself.” I licked my lips, testing her.
Her eyes dropped to my mouth as her lips parted.
“Another?” Lisa interrupted.
“We’re good,” I replied, keeping my eyes pinned to Race and waving Lisa off.
“Pfft,” Lisa scoffed, stomping away.
Race glared in Lisa’s direction. “She wants you,” she whispered.
Was she jealous?
“I don’t want her.”
“She’s a sure thing though.”
I leaned closer, leaving very little space between us. “I never liked easy.”
“All men like easy.” Her body swayed, moving so close our lips almost brushed.

BLP REVIEW ~ Tracy

As a PNR junkie Caged Magic sounded just like my kind of read – what I really should have done was paid attention to the fact that his was book #5 in the series, instead, I did what I often do and went into this book blind!!

Saying that, the lack of knowledge on the series as a whole didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the story though I do think that I would have understood a lot more about the chemistry and attraction between Linc and Risa and would have appreciated the relationship and friendship of the rest of the crew.

The story was exciting, fast paced and had me experience a range of emotions as things between our main characters played out.

I’m gonna go back and start at the beginning of the ‘Wing Slayer Hunters’ series as I’m pretty sure I’m gonna be a fan of Jennifer Lyon’s books!!!

EXCERPT

“But there’s a price.”

She jerked her gaze up. “What?”

He lifted her hand to his mouth, his warm lips sliding over her knuckles. “You’ll let me kiss you first. A deep, owning kiss.”

Her heart started to pound. “You want to kiss me?”

“I want to kiss you so hard you’ll go to sleep and wake up with the taste of me. No one else, Risa. Me.”
Intensity. She’d never experienced this pull, this inability to emotionally distance herself from another person. He had a magnetic effect, tugging her into him. “Is this the soul bond?”

Bronze shimmered in his eyes. “I don’t know. But you’re ripping me open, making me need more than sex. I need your touch.”

Recognition sounded in her like a gong. Touch. They’d both had too much of the wrong kind and not enough of the right. She thought of the way he’d held her last night, even after finding out it had been her father who kidnapped and gave him to the bastards who’d caged him. Yet Linc hadn’t seen her ugliness. Instead, he’d held her until she fell asleep.

Safe in his arms.

And now he was unfailingly honest in what he needed. A kiss. Touch. Unable to stop herself, she wrapped her hands around Linc’s sides. The powerful muscles twitched beneath her palms.

“Kiss me.” She tugged him to her.

Linc curled his palm around her nape and lowered his gaze to her lips.

The air between them thickened. Sizzled. Her lips tingled, and her heart thumped.

He stroked his thumb along the sensitive curve of her throat. Arousal rode her nerve endings, pebbling her nipples and warming her belly. She squeezed her thighs together, vividly aware of her nakedness beneath the shirt.

His mouth touched hers, warm velvety lips gliding over hers with a slow exploration while his thumb lazily caressed her jaw.

No one kissed her like this, as if they needed to learn every secret of her mouth. She tracked her hands over his shoulders, absorbing the warm skin stretched over powerful muscles. Bold hunger flickered, and she licked at his mouth.

A groan rumbled against her palm on his chest. He wrapped his arms around her and lifted her off her feet. Pinning her to the wall, he tilted her chin up and consumed her. His tongue dueled with hers, then darted away, exploring and marking her.

Risa shivered as the taste of him hit her tongue, like dark chocolate mixed with real cream and whipped until irresistible. Greed for more pulled out a moan. She’d never have enough of his flavor or the feel of his mouth moving over hers as if he were as starved for her as she was for him. The kiss devoured her.

Synopsis

The first time I saw her, I knew I’d have to kill her.

It’s been five years since the brutal death of her mother, and Katherine Shaw still relives the nightmares of that night.

She escaped.

The danger should’ve been over.

She couldn’t have been more wrong.

When her father, a prominent judge, receives a chilling death threat, her past comes hurtling into her present.

The warning is clear: They’ve got unfinished business, and they’re coming for her.

Katherine Shaw.

Rich girl? Check.

Spoiled and obstinate? Check.

A beautiful fireball who pushes every button he has? That was not listed on the dossier Jason Garrett receives when he’s assigned as one of her bodyguards. The last thing he ever expected was that his tempting client would prove to be more dangerous than those he’s protecting her from.

Their attraction would be forbidden even under the best circumstances. But as the threat draws near, the tension between the two of them rises, culminating in an explosive flash point that will blindside them both.

 BLP REVIEW ~ Tracy

I first heard of Brooke Blaine when I was offered the chance to read an early copy of ‘A Desperate Man’ that she co-wrote with Ella Frank (patiently waiting for book #3, this is without doubt a series I love!!) so when I was offered the chance to read and review FLASH POINT I didn’t hesitate to accept!!!

FLASH POINT is a romantic suspense – heavy on the suspense, mystery, intrigue and twists with a healthy dose of sexual attraction between the 2 leading characters, a lot of well placed innuendo and splattered with some great banter (especially between Kat and Kirkpatrick) as well as some sweet and sad moments. The sex, when we got to it, was HOT!!!
Told in a dual POV (which I really enjoy) this story gives you an insight into what both main characters are thinking as the story unfolds.

Katherine Shaw was an interesting, complicated young woman – strong, determined and straight talking she seemed friendly and fun when interacting with her best friend but then came across as a bit of a brat when dealing with her father but, as you read, you find out that there’s a lot more to Kitty Kat’s story which gives you an insight into her character and explained a fair bit of her behaviour!

Jason Garrett…. who wouldn’t love to have a 24hr bodyguard like him?!?!
He was very professional and detached to start with but there was a definite chemistry that sparked between him and Katherine that couldn’t be denied BUT he has a rule that he never gets personally involved with his clients.

Even though Jason seemed determined to not take things any further, our leading lady knew what she wanted and was focused enough for the both of them on getting what she wanted!!

There was a lot of uncertainty as to what exactly was going on and why Kat and her father were being targeted – as the story plays out, you start to wonder exactly who the good guys are where are things going to finally go….
I’m not gonna say anything more about the plot as I hate spoilers myself and I wouldn’t to ruin the read for anyone!

For a debut novel this is a fantastic read. FLASH POINT was a real page turner for me, I was desperate to find out what was gonna happen next and how things were going to pan out for everyone!!

A solid 4* read that I’ll definitely be recommending to friends and blog followers alike. I can’t wait to see what Ms Blaine comes out with next!!!

Excerpt from Flash Point

© Brooke Blaine 2015

The wind whipped around them suddenly, a ferocious gust that caused Katherine’s long locks to go flying in every direction. She looked a bit like Medusa right then, hair thrashing about like snakes, hypnotic jade eyes blazing, and just as she lifted the hood of her jacket over her head, the wind died down.

“Yeah, that just figures,” she muttered, as she put her hand inside the hood to smooth down her hair.

Jason’s phone buzzed in his pocket, the caller ID reading Thompson. He answered before the second ring. “Sir.”

“Just calling to check in with you, Garrett. I spoke with Kirkpatrick and went over the rundown on our end, and he gave me—”

“Ow, shit, motherfucker—”

A string of curses continued to fly from Katherine’s mouth, her arm caught in an awkward angle over her face. The bracelet on her wrist had hooked onto the jacket liner of her hood, and the more she tried to yank it free, the more it snagged.

Thompson’s voice turned apprehensive. “Is everything okay over there? Is that Katherine—”

“Yes, yes, she’s fine,” Jason said.

“She doesn’t sound fine.”

“Just a little…female issue.”

“Female issue…? Ohhhh. I see. Well, good luck with that. Talk later.” Thompson hung up swiftly, and Jason shook his head. Wimp.

Katherine stomped her foot as she continued to wrench her arm free, and he tried not to smirk at how ridiculous she looked.

I should just leave her like that, he thought in amusement.

“Are you gonna talk on the phone all night or are you gonna fucking help me sometime this century?”

“Do you really want me to answer that?” he asked.

“No, what I want right about now is a chainsaw to free myself and then stick up your ass.”

He shoved the phone back in his pocket. “Sounds like foreplay.”

She stopped struggling for a moment, and he tried not to notice the way her shirt had ridden up to display a few inches of her creamy skin. “Now the sense of humor comes out? Now?

Stepping forward, he grabbed her wrist with one hand and tried to get her bracelet free with the other, but it was lodged in tight. Her pulse beat rapidly under his thumb, and he stroked over it once before realizing what he’d done. A quiet gasp escaped Katherine’s lips.

“Hold still,” he murmured, tightening his grip. “It might hurt.”

With a quick snap, he ripped the hood away, a chunk of tattered material still clinging to the mangled jewelry. She pulled the bracelet off her arm and rubbed her wrist.

“Thanks,” she said, a bit breathless.

He nodded as he backed away, and she got the hint to keep moving and not mention it.

They walked together in silence, for once, until a cluster of buildings came into view, and Katherine directed them toward it. When he saw her look over at him from the corner of his eye, he braced himself for the next round of questioning he knew was coming.

“So…you never told me your first name,” she said.

“No, I didn’t.”

“Well, that’s rude. I thought we just had a moment there, Jason.”

He stopped in his tracks, and she burst out in victorious laughter.

How the hell did she know that?

“And you thought I was unobservant.” She wore a smug look on her face. “I may be a lot of things, ruiner of jackets included, but give me a little credit here.”

“Where did you hear that?”

She shrugged. “It was a hunch. I’d referred to you as Jason Statham when I was talking to Steven at my father’s house, and I noticed you flinched when I said it. So, either you get that comparison a lot, or it was an involuntary reaction to hearing your name and trying not to react. Thank you for confirming my suspicions.”

Well I’ll be damned. Not just a pretty face, are you?

“Oh,” she said then, taking a step back. “Oh, no. That’s not…a tiny sliver of respect I see in your eyes, is it?”

He grimaced. “No.”

“Thank God,” she said with mock relief as she climbed the stairs to the main doors and stopped just outside them. “I couldn’t take it if you actually liked me.”

He had nothing to say to that, too busy trying to see past the mask she wore that he’d only briefly thought about earlier. She was observant. I wonder what else she’s hiding…

She turned around. “Can I ask you something?”

“God knows you would anyway.”

The Katherine that faced him now wore a serious expression, with no trace of the sarcastic woman he’d had to deal with the past few days. She cocked her head to the side as she studied his face.

“Are you always this much of an asshole with your clients, or am I just lucky?”

Before he could summon an answer, she reached for the door handle but then pulled away so he could enter first. She stayed beside him as she walked them to her class, and he knew she didn’t expect a response. After getting her settled and taking position against the wall nearby, he entertained her question.

Two things he knew for sure: First, he was definitely an asshole. And second, under the current circumstances, he’d never refer to Katherine Shaw as lucky.

About the Author:

You could say Brooke Blaine was a book-a-holic from the time she knew how to read; she used to tell her mother that curling up with one at 4 a.m. before elementary school was her ‘quiet time.’ Not much has changed except for the espresso I.V. pump she now carries around and the size of her onesie pajamas.

Flash Point is her debut solo novel, and she is the co-author of the erotic serial, A Desperate Man, with Ella Frank. The latter has scarred her conservative southern family for life, bless their hearts.

If you’d like to get in touch with her, she’s easy to find – just keep an ear out for the Rick Astley ringtone that’s dominated her cell phone for ten years.

Blurb

When handsome California surf god Lincoln Savage suddenly rolls into Ocean Beach like a rogue wave, shy beauty Simone Bianchi’s foundation is shaken. No longer under the thumb of her domineering father, she’s made a simple quiet life for herself and her fluffy fourteen pound Havanese pup running a surf shop in her hometown of OB. Long ago she gave up her dreams for a future with Linc.

But now the notorious lead singer of the Dirt Dogs has returned, and Simone is reluctant to admit that she’s still vulnerable to his killer dimpled smile and easy charm. She finds that although she’s stowed away the mementos, it hasn’t been as easy to erase the memories of their epic summer love.

It seems he hasn’t forgotten, either.

Is the recording contract he’s offering merely a pretense?

Or does he have something more in mind?

Does he really believe that they can just pick up where they left off, despite all the bad luck and heartache?

And is she willing to risk everything again for one last chance at love?

Excerpt

“Dammit, Mona.” I leaned in closer inhaling her sweet scent and nearly brought to my knees with desire. I wanted to have her. Right here. Right now. I had to curl my fingers into fists to keep from reaching out, grabbing her and reminding her how it used to be between us. Her lids lowered and her breathing turned ragged. Was she remembering, too, or trying to forget?

“Go away, Linc.” Apparently the latter.

“Maybe I can’t,” I admitted my voice raspy with stripped down need. “Maybe I don’t want to.”

“Don’t.” She closed her eyes and her chin dropped. “Don’t do this to me.” She wet her lips. They visibly trembled. Even though I knew I had upset her I still wanted to kiss them. “I’m not one of your groupies easily flattered by your bullshit. The fact that you’re a big rock star doesn’t impress me. I know who you really are Lincoln Savage. I’ve seen you at your best and I’ve survived you at your worst. So don’t think you can come here and play games with me.”

The walls vibrated as soon as the spotlights hit them. Feet stomped. Fans yelled. Some even stood on their chairs. Camera lights clicked on and so did Lincoln. Brightly. He strode to the center of the stage. Confident. Compelling. Controlled. A cosmic force.

He plucked the mic from the stand glared at the audience daring them to come along with him or get the hell out of the way, before he and the guys launched into a cover of ‘Satisfaction’  that kicked ass as righteously as the original.

It went uphill from there. Ramon on guitar flashing his flirt. Ash slamming sexy on his drums. Patch firm and steady on bass. And Linc my gorgeous warrior with depths of worth that he still failed to recognize eclipsing them all. The Dirt Dogs might still a bit rough around the edges but they were undeniably on the ascent. What had started out as something to occupy their time when the surf wasn’t up had transformed into a magical mélange of Pacific saltwater, California sun and hard rocking in your face attitude.

I moved quickly across the parking lot shielding my eyes from the glare when I reached the sand. The tension inside my stomach instantly ratcheted tighter. I recognized Lincoln right away. Even in his wet suit the way he moved across the surface of the ocean on his board was as unique as he was.

Under the curtain unleashing his fins.

Maxing out of the tube.

Finding steep wall and going nearly vertical.

Those were the maneuvers I knew, the others I didn’t but that didn’t make them any less awe inspiring.

I shook my head. I was never afraid of him. Never.

He studied me a beat seeming to notice my parted lips, heavy breathing, hard nipples and trembling.

“Turned on?” he guessed.

Excerpt
George
and James dropped back to re-join their father and as they discussed ranch
business they kept their eyes on Laura up ahead. She had just crossed the tree
line and had disappeared from their sight. Joseph had just opened his mouth to
call her to stay in sight when they heard her blood curdling scream.
The three
men wasted no time spurring their horses into a gallop and headed in the
direction the scream had come from.
Laura had
dismounted and was on the ground next to a small bundle which rested half on
and half off the track. Tears flooded her cheeks and she was shaking
uncontrollably. When she spotted her father she jumped from the ground and
raced towards him. Joseph was off his horse in a flash and folded her into his
arms. While she buried her face in her father’s chest George and James
dismounted and moved to check the small bundle which they could now see was the
body of a young girl.
“Pa, you
better come fast!” called George.
Joseph
peeled Laura away from him and reached inside his pocket for a cloth to wipe
her tear stained face. Holding her hand he guided her to a nearby rock and
gently encouraged her to sit. He grabbed his canteen of water from his saddle
bag and handed it to her “Drink Laura. Don’t move darlin’ we’ll be right over
here” She gulped thirstily from the canteen while she continued to sob.
Joseph
approached his sons and couldn’t stifle the gasp which escaped him as he looked
at the ‘bundle’ for the first time. He could now see it was a young girl, about
the same age as Laura. Her clothing had been torn to the waist and across the
once creamy skin of her back were at least two dozen bloody welts.
Joseph
removed his hat and immediately began firing off instructions to his shocked
sons. “James, fetch blankets, water and as many clean cloths as you can find!
George, hobble the horses so they don’t wander. Keep an eye out for Ben with
the board so he doesn’t run over us”
The boys
answered in unison “Yes, Pa!” and raced off to complete their tasks.
As the
boys followed his orders Joseph assessed the young girl’s wounds further. I
will get the bastards who did this! he vowed to himself.
Just at
that moment, Ben, the youngest son, drove up with the buckboard and their
supplies. Seeing his family moving around ahead, his father attending to
something on the ground, he brought the horses to a stop.
“Ben! We have a badly injured girl. Clear a
space in the buckboard and lay some blankets so when we are ready we can take
her home to Ma!” called out James.
Ben
jumped down and began re-arranging the rear of the buckboard. “What’s happened
James?”
“Not sure
yet, we just came up on her. Pa and George are with her now”
Where’s
Laura?” asked Ben concerned for his sister.
“Just
over yonder on a rock. She’s very upset, was her that found the girl! After the
board is ready go sit with her, I need to get these supplies to Pa”
James
hurried back to where Joseph and George were waiting with the girl. “Ben’s
arrived Pa, he’s clearin’ a space in the buckboard and is going to calm Laura”
“Thanks
son. She is bad. Looks like she has a broken leg from the angle it’s at, a
broken arm and all them welts, cuts and bruises!” We need to patch her up as
best we can and get her to Ma”
“She’s
lost a lot of blood Pa” commented George “Will she make it?”
“I don’t
know son but we will do our best for her”
“Who
would do this?” asked an angry James to no-one in particular.
“I have
no idea” answered Joseph “but I intend to find out and get this little girl
some justice!”
“Buckboard’s
ready” shouted Ben
“Go find
four pieces of wood to splint an arm and a leg” called George “be as quick as
you can”
“On my
way” called Ben running into the trees.
Joseph
removed the lid from a canteen he’d been handed and poured water onto a cloth.
As gently as he could he began to clean the wounds and only then could they see
the extent of the damage from the vicious attack.
With her
back wounds cleaned up a little the three men gently lifted her onto a blanket
which was spread on the ground, turning her over as they did so.
They
inhaled deeply when they saw the girl’s face. Both of her eyes were swollen
shut. She had a large cut over one eye which would require stitches. Blood had
seeped into her raven black hair and congealed which left her hair in a sticky,
tangled mess. Her lip was split and her cheek badly bruised. Dirt and dust had
combined with blood from her wounds to form a muddy mess over much of her body.
George
quickly covered her with a spare blanket to protect her dignity but couldn’t
help noticing her perfectly formed breasts and slim waist which brought a
stirring to his loins.
Goddamn
it George! What’s wrong with you? You are looking at a woman’s breasts and
getting randy when you should be more concerned with her injuries! And you’re
s’posed to be courtin’ Marybeth!
Joseph
took clean cloths, doused them in water and proceeded to clean her face.
“Where do
you want these Pa?” asked Ben holding up four good sized sticks.
“I’ll take them. Thanks Ben” said James “Go sit with Laura”

Dirty Words

EXCERPT

It had been exactly one year to the day since I fell for the words my girl created. A year where I’d spent numerous hours contemplating ways to make her mine. Three hundred and sixty-five days consumed by every book she wrote. With each line my need and hunger grew, my devotion running so deep that I’d lost my goddamned head over her.

Rationality was a novelty I no longer concerned myself with.

She always claimed to have the best inspirations while taking a bath or shower. Was it because she was thinking of me? Was she picturing us together under the hot stream of water? She was a fan, after all.

It was my face that my girl watched on the movie screen, and later confessed to being aroused by. I remember re-reading that one post on her wall over and over again. Discovering the effect I had on her was a high unlike any other.

I made her heart stutter.

I made her knees weak.

I caused the wetness to pool between her thighs.

Did she see those images as vividly as I did? Lucia had to have. No one could write such descriptive scenes without putting themselves within their words. My favorite, though, had to be the one time she had me fuck my counterpart in the shower.

Fuck, do I remember that scene:

Jack, please,” Lesley begged as I continued to assault her neck with kisses, biting her hard enough to leave the imprint of my teeth embedded in her skin. I wanted—no, needed, to mark her as my own. The fucking world had to accept that she was taken. “Baby, I need you,” she whimpered, “need to feel you inside me. Goddamned delicious stretch and fullness only you can…oh, fuck!” Lesley hissed out as my long and calloused fingers found her drenched, bare lips. I’d begun a slow rhythm of in and out, my palm coming in contact with her engorged clit and rubbing twice before pulling away.

I was the one making the beautiful woman in my arms cry out in ecstasy one minute, and out in anger the next.

According to her, I was responsible for all the dirty thoughts and words that led to the ruin of her favorite panties. They were my favorites now, as well. Lacy boy shorts had ruined me for all other types. My head was filled with images of those round mounds barely covered by the flimsy fabric. How it molded onto her skin and rode high as she walked.

I wanted to tear them off with my teeth.

I’d pull them down while my tongue would come out to taste every inch of skin my mouth uncovered. I wondered what would hit my tongue as I lay between her parted thighs and lapped at her core.

She’d taste amazing too. Like an erotic mixture of fruits. Delicious.

Don’t tease me, baby. Fuck me. Make me yours.” Lesley slammed her hands on the tiled wall while I toyed with her. Broke her down. I wanted her to bend to my will, become insane with lust. When I was through with her, she’d only see me. Feel me. Want me.

Systematic Siege

Systematic Siege: Provocative Tendencies #1 by N. Isabelle Blanco

He was the player. The most popular guy in highschool. In other words, the stereotypical heartbreaker that every girl died for.

She was one of the nerds. The outcast teased and shunned by the popular kids in school. In other words, him and his crew.

He always wanted her, she just never knew it . . .

In order to maintain his popularity, he buried those feelings deep, deep down in the pit of his miserable little soul.

That is, until one night he lost control.

They both did.

Unfortunately, they weren’t the only ones that knew it. What his friends ended up doing with the knowledge would scar her for the next seven years of her life.

And leave him wrecked, dealing with years of agony because he’d lost her.

Highschool graduation came and went, and they never saw each other again.

Now, seven years later, Andrew’s stepped in and taken his father’s place as CEO of his family’s company, Drevlow Systems, Inc.

Along with the new position comes a host of perks . . . and a brand new systems genius working as the head of his company’s IT department.

An IT genius that just happens to be the one woman he never forgot.

She hasn’t forgotten him or his reputation either and she wants nothing to do with him.

He’s determined to have her—she’s determined to see him burn in hell before that happens.

What ensues takes the term War of the Sexes to a whole new level.

{Episode #1}

Andrew is forced to face his past in a way he’d never expected.

Or prepared for.

Seven years.

That’s how long he waited to find Lexi again. Seven years worth of memories. Fantasies that tormented his life, making it impossible for him to move on.

Seven years worth of guilt for what he’d inadvertently allowed to happen.

He had it all planned out, every step of the epic-groveling he knew he’d have to do.

His plan was absolutely perfect.

Genius, actually.

Then he walked into his company’s IT department and seen the same big, blue-gray eyes that had haunted him for years . . .

Glaring at him from behind familiar, black-framed glasses.

And Andrew knew, right then, without a doubt . . .

That his plan wasn’t worth sh*t.

EXCERPT

For years, I’d watched my old friend from afar, missing her. Knowing what my father had done to her family. I’d just wanted to have the right to talk to her again.

When that aforementioned opportunity popped up, no preternatural, Zeus-gifted willpower could have stopped me from taking it.

The door creaks open out in the hall. “Andrew?”

God—Nature—whatever the fuck is out there—what the hell did you do when you allowed that girl to come into existence?

Ungh, that voice. I freeze on the spot, eyes closing. Hating and savoring the heat that drums through my veins, pounding its way straight to my cock.

Her voice is how I imagine an ancient sex goddess’ voice would’ve been. If this is how the ancient Sumerians imagined that Inanna’s voice sounded, no wonder man eventually rose up and obliterated her legend.

No female, even a mythical one, should be allowed to have so much control over man.

It’s not an exaggeration, either. Every fucker at school goes glossy-eyed whenever Lexi so much as hums near them.

The perfect soft rasp; the epitome of the term “sex voice”. Every time she says my name, I die a little more inside.

“Andrew?”

Shit. I need to hear her moan for me—don’t care if it ends up being the death of me—and I can’t fucking have it.

One day I’m going to snap and take it anyway.

“Andrew, are you here?”

I clear my throat, sitting down on the sofa as fast as I can. My text book gets positioned just right, so that it covers my aching hard-on. “Yeah. I’m in here.”

Jesus, talk about rasps. My voice is straight up laden with sex.

I clear my throat again.

Three deep breaths, and I convince myself that I’m ready to face her. That, although my dick still throbs to the beat of her name, I’m well on my way to getting my reaction under control.

She stops in front of the door.

My entire world grinds to a halt.

Jesus.

Air . . . Can’t breathe . . . Motherfuck, this hurts.

My.

Fucking.

God.

Son of a bitch.

Shit, I think I’m wheezing.

Legs.

Those breasts.

That hair.

The eyes.

Red lips.

Lexi all dolled-up—no, fuck that, sexed-up.

Like I’ve never seen her before.

It’s the hardest blow of my life.

And, it’s the exact moment in time I realize that girl has to be mine.

Whatever it takes.

Whatever it ends up costing me.

Mine.

N. Isabelle BlancoN. Isabelle Blanco was born in Queens, NY (USA). At the age of three, due to an odd fascination with studying her mother’s handwriting, she began to read and write. By the time she’d reached kindergarten, she had an extensive vocabulary and her obsession with words began to bleed into every aspect of her life.

An avid reader in her teens, her fascination with Japanese anime eventually led her to the universe of fan fiction, which became her on-again, off-again hobby for the next ten years. During that time she amassed a following of fans that, by her own admission, she would never be able to live without. It was those fans who encouraged her to step beyond the fan fiction realm and try her talent in the publishing world.

N. Isabelle Blanco spends her days working as an author, web programmer, marketer, and graphic designer. That is when she isn’t handling her “spawn”, as she calls her son, and brainstorming with him about his future career as a comic book illustrator.

Excerpt

“Isn’t that what I’m supposed to be begging for?” Her overly seductive tone makes my eyes fly open.

Stunned, I grab her hands without thinking, halting her movements, and pull her in front of me. Her bottom lip is trapped between her teeth. The demon is showing through, the little bit of naughty in my innocent looking temptation.

“Miss Lockley,” I begin, clearing my throat as I adjust my position to try and hide the bulge that she creates, “that sounded like a proposition of sorts. Do I need to remind you I’m not only fourteen years older than you, but also your boss?”

My hands are aching to grab hold of her. She doesn’t understand what she does to me, and her little show has me ready to push her up against the window so everyone who passes by can see my cock disappear between her thighs. Pink spreads across her cheeks and down her chest. I’m seconds away from pinning her down like a wild beast—an idea which excites me to no end.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Sampson, I was just trying to lighten your mood,” she says, and for some reason her response rubs me the wrong way.

I stand, upset now that she’s played with me, and not in the way I want her to. Her body moves back to give me space, but my hand shoots out and grabs her arm, pulling her to me.

“It’s not nice to tease a man like that,” I say harshly. “We’re not like the boys you’re used to. It angers us, and many will go ahead and take what you’re offering.” I lean forward and run my nose up her neck, resisting the urge to taste her. My lips are so close to her ear as I whisper, “Don’t tempt me My tongue pushes into her mouth, tasting her. She’s fucking divine and I lose it, turning her and pushing her against the edge of my desk.

My hips rock against her, showing her just what she’s doing to me when my hard cock digs into her stomach.

I want her.

I have to have her.

A strong knock on my door make me freeze.

“Dean, you got a minute?” Cooper calls.

My blood runs cold. “Fuck.” In a frantic I-have-to-hide-her move, I grab Alyssa’s arm and push her down to the space under my desk. The click and thump of the door opening makes her eyes wide as she looks up at me, but she remains silent as I move the chair forward. anymore, Alyssa, or you may regret it.” To make sure she gets the point, I caress up and down her arms, my lips ghosting across the delicate curve of her neck.

A gasp escapes her plump lips while her hand clenches hold of my lapel. “Dean.”

Fuck, the way she says my name is torture. She feels so good in my arms that I don’t think I can stop myself, and I find my lips trailing along her jaw toward her luscious mouth.

I press my lips to hers, doing what I’ve wanted to for over a month, since she first sauntered in here.

“Come on in.” I smooth my hair with one hand while the other pulls open the file cabinet next to me in an attempt to look like I am doing something constructive. The open drawer also hides Alyssa’s form better.

K.I. Lynn spent her life in the arts, everything from music to painting and ceramics, then to writing. Characters have always run around in her head, acting out their stories, but it wasn’t until later in life she would put them to pen. It would turn out to be the one thing she was really passionate about.

Since she began posting stories online, she’s garnered acclaim for her diverse stories and hard hitting writing style. Two stories and characters are never the same, her brain moving through different ideas faster than she can write them down as it also plots its quest for world domination…or cheese. Whichever is easier to obtain… Usually it’s cheese.
