With everyone thinking I was angry, I was taking a wild guess that it would be at least thirty minutes before anyone realized I was gone. That was a good head start. From the vague vibe I was feeling from Jess and the other traitors, I was looking at covering a distance of about four miles. I ran that nearly every morning, and the time it took to get there would allow my wolf and me time to figure out what we were going to do when we got there.

Cutting the bitch was what my wolf wanted to do, and I couldn’t honestly say that I wasn’t on board with that plan, but I was smart enough to know that I couldn’t take on eight werewolves on my own. I would have to find their hideout and come back with my pack. Bringing Phoenix and his clan to watch my back in case any of my wolves were really on Jessica’s side was a smart thing to do, so I would let them come, too, not that I would really get a choice in the matter; I doubted he would stay behind even if I begged him to.

A loud clatter had my head whipping around to look behind me again. An aluminum trash can lay on its side, its contents spilling into the street. A tabby cat peeked around the edge of the torn trash bag and I exhaled in relief. I was a sad case, indeed. I laughed at myself. I was not used to being the monster.

“I aim to change that, Mena.”

I rolled my eyes at my wolf. “You just be you and let me be me and we’ll get along just fine.”

Soft laughter filled my head and I had to smile. I had to admit that I liked her, regardless of how much trouble she was causing me with Phoenix. At least we had come to a compromise. I didn’t know how well said compromise was going to work out, or even if it would at all, but I was willing to try. Everyone deserved a shot at happiness, even with as insane as our case may be.

As I turned my head back around to continue on my journey, I ran smack-dab into the hard chest of a man. He was in shadow, so I couldn’t see his face. Stumbling back, I attempted to get my balance, but his arms closed tightly around my body, jerking me to him and trapping my arms down at my sides so I couldn’t move.

Struggling against his solid hold on me, I opened my mouth to let out a scream, but he twisted me around and clamped a hand over my mouth so fast that I didn’t know what was happening until I was being pulled backward, away from the security of the streetlights that lined the suburban road.

I raised my knee up then brought my foot down hard on the toe of his shoe. He let out a muffled grunt, but continued to drag me into the shadows.

This had to be one of the werewolves. The strength alone told me that. They had to have been watching my house, just waiting for me to leave. This bastard was going to kill me if I didn’t do something.

My wolf stirred under my skin. She wanted out and it was the first time since I’d been bitten that I agreed with that plan. With only a little more than human strength and quick reflexes, it wasn’t possible for me to handle a grown male werewolf on my own.

My final option, before letting my wolf free, was try to at least injure him. I hoped that would be enough to make him loosen his grip on me enough so I could run. If he gave chase, I would have to concede and let my wolf take over.

Gripping the dagger tighter in my palm, I rotated my wrist and drove the blade into his side as hard as I could. An ear-piercing ululation erupted from his throat and he let go of me. I didn’t wait or look back. I ran as fast as my legs would carry me, adrenaline and my wolf giving me the speed and strength to push my muscles past what a human would be able to endure.

“Mena… Mena!” I heard the cry behind me, but my mind wasn’t registering anything except panic and the need to get as far away from my attacker as possible. “Mena—wait! It’s me…” A strangled groan had me slowing. “…it’s… it’s Phoenix. I—I’m so sorry, Mena.”

I froze, not wanting to look back at the man, terrified that what he’d spoken was true. If it was—if I turned and saw those ice-blue eyes staring back at me, it would destroy any trust I had ever had in him.

“Please, Mena, I never meant to hurt you. I was only trying to scare you so you would realize what a stupid stunt going off on your own to find the killers was. What were you thinking?”

The blood rushed through my veins at an impossible speed, and fury washed over me in waves as I stood there trying to decide whether to walk away or allow my wolf to rip Phoenix’s head off. She was all for the second option.

I heard him cough, and then groan in agony. I imagined he was pulling the dagger out of whatever organ I had been lucky enough to hit. There was a lot of heavy, ragged breathing and two more guttural-sounding coughs. It appeared as though I had hit a lung. Too bad it wasn’t his heart! I wasn’t sure stabbing him in the heart with a silver blade would kill him, but I would have put money on a bet that it would have been a hell of a lot more painful.

I turned my head to glare at him, but the hatred I had expected to feel wasn’t there. He had fallen to his knees, and his head was bent, his eyes focused on the bright red stain spreading across his new shirt.

Shaking my head, I looked up to the sky and asked, “Why me?” After receiving no answer, I sighed and began the one-hundred-meter walk back to Phoenix.

“For fractured souls are like magnets.
Drawn to collide into an impossible bliss…”

Labeled a ‘Cursed’ woman of Eve from birth, Maddie has endured nothing but pain and repression at the hands of The Order’s most abusive elder, Moses. Now living with her sister in The Hang-men’s secluded compound, finally, Maddie, is free. Free from the suffocating faith she no longer believes in. Free from endless years of physical and mental torment.

Just… free…

At age twenty-one, the timid and shy Maddie is content to live within the confines of her new home—safe from the outside world, safe from harm and, strangely, protected by the Hangmen’s most volatile member; the heavily pierced and tattooed, Flame.

Flame.

The man who ceaselessly watches over her with his midnight dark and searing eyes. The man who protects her with a breath-taking intensity. And the man who stirs something deep within her numbed heart.

But when circumstances conspire for Flame to need HER help, Maddie bravely risks it all for the broken man who has captivated her fragile soul.

The Hangmen’s most infamous member, Flame, is ruled by one thing—anger. Plagued by haunting demons from his past, an all-consuming rage, and isolated by an abhorrent hatred of being touched, Flame’s days are filled with suffocating darkness, pierced only by a single ray of light—Maddie. The shy, beautiful woman he cannot purge from his thoughts. The woman he has an overwhelming need to possess…
… the only person who has ever been able to touch him.

Flame’s mission in life is to protect Maddie, to keep her safe. Until a trigger from his troubled past sends him spiraling into madness, trapping him in the deepest recesses of his disturbed mind.

His Hangmen brothers fear that Flame is beyond saving.

His only hope of salvation: Maddie and her healing light.

EXCERPT:

I sat bolt up right in the chair and stared at the dark line of the forest. My heart slammed against my ribcage when a figure emerged from the heavy foliage.
My breathing paused, fear taking hold, then a familiar pair of leather boots and trousers entered the moonlit lawn. Blades hung at his sides, and his torso was naked under the heavy leather cut.
Flame.
My heart, that was already racing, seemed to beat at an impossible speed. And then Flame lifted his head, and it ceased to beat at all.
The frown that was on his face instantly blanked. His lips mumbling something under his breath, stilling mid-speech.
I clutched the blanket lying over my knees to my chest. I remained frozen, as did Flame. I had not expected him to come tonight, his friend had taken him back to his home. I could see from my window how exhausted he had been. I could see, even in the haze of moonlight, how tired he was still.
Flame’s hands clenched at his sides. His chest heaved with movement that was too quick, then he abruptly turned on his heel, and with a rigid back, he headed back into the forest.
My stomach sank as he turned to leave, and without conscious thought, I slammed my sketchpad shut, shuffled to the edge of the seat and called out, “Wait! Do not go!”
Flame stopped dead.
As did I.
Swallowing back my nerves, my shock at what I had just done, I said, “Please, Flame. Do not go… I… I am glad you are here.”
Flame’s fingers curled and uncurled at his side, then straightening his shoulders, he slowly turned. His large frame was rigid as he faced me once more. Then he just stood. Stood at the end of the forest, his attention fixed forward.
But I wanted him closer.
Still perched on the edge of my seat, I asked, “Would you like to come closer? I… I have been sitting out here alone as I could not sleep. It…” I took a deep breath, fighting my natural instinct to flee, and continued. “It would be nice to have some company.”
Flame remained still, his rigid body convincing me that he would not come any nearer. Then, to my surprise, he began walking, his powerful legs bringing him closer to where I sat.
In the still and silent night, I could hear him counting his steps one to eleven, then repeating it back to himself under his breath. My head tilted to the side as he approached, a swirl of anticipation and fear mixing in my stomach.
His skin on his arms looked newly cut, and I could not help but feel sad for him. For whatever had happened to make him need to harm himself in such a way. Grasping the blade in his hand, his fingers tightened on the handle. Like he needed the blade as a comfort.
As though he was nervous to be here with me now.
Inhaling a long breath, I asked quietly, “Would you like to sit?” I pointed at the chair to in front of mine. Flame looked at the chair through his long black lashes, and exhaling sharply through his nose, sat beside me. I smelled the oil and leather. I smelled the rich musk and spice scent that only belonged to Flame and warmth filled my bones.
He was sat beside me.
Flame was sitting right beside me.
Dropping my eyes to the frayed edges of the gray blanket wrapped around me, I played with the clustered strands of wool just for something to help with the nerves accosting my body.
But Flame was absolutely still. Absolutely silent.
Then I glanced to the side only to see him watching. As soon as our eyes met, he dropped his. A blush raced to fill my cheeks, and for some unknown reason, a whisper of a smile pulled on the corner of my mouth.
Lifting my head, I stared at the large moon, and found the courage to speak, “I did not think you would be coming to see me tonight.”
After several seconds of silence, I believed Flame would not respond. Until I caught him shift in his seat, and he said roughly, “I couldn’t stay away.”
My pulse raced at his response and I whispered, “Why?”
Flame’s shoulder shrugged, then focusing back on the blade in his hand, he said, “I couldn’t stop thinking about you. And I…” Flame trailed off.
“And what?” I pushed.
“I needed to be near you. I needed to know you were safe.”

Excerpt from Rock His World:

“I’m Sasha.” The perky voice came from his right.
Of course she was. A woman who looked like that couldn’t not have an exotic name. Shorter than him with hazel eyes rimmed in onyx, she stared up from under a shaggy mop of blue-black hair. Small silver hoop earrings spanned the edge of her left ear from lobe to tip. Her off-the-shoulder black knit top showcased tattoos covering the length of her right arm. Black skinny jeans disappeared into her scuffed Doc Marten boots—the fashion version of what he purchased at the Army Surplus store. Her vibrant red lips practically begged him to nip at them, and his pulse thrummed with a mix of testosterone and adrenaline.
“I’m Avery.” He wondered how he missed the woman as she approached him. She studied his eyes. “You like punk?”
“Usually. I’ve never heard Schlong, but the club’s website said it was a bucket-list band.”
“Most of the shows here are memorable, but they’re one of my favorites.”
“Why?” A geek in a wanna-be modern James Dean facade, it was his favorite question.
“Hmmm. Their music is sort of like a punk-funk mix, plus the band really interacts with the crowd. The energy is infectious and great to dance to, but it’s not your typical mosh pit. It’s,” she paused, “happier.”
Avery hadn’t been able to hide his widening eyes at the term “mosh pit”—the white water rapids in a river of dancing bodies could suck you under and leave you fighting your way out of the turbulence. He had never been in one but with stories of lost footwear and bloodied noses, so the concept of a “happy” mosh pit lay beyond his comprehension.
The opening band had finished their set and was breaking down their gear. The countdown clock ticked on their conversation time.
Sasha continued, “Where are you from?”
“Portland.”
“Not so far away.”
“Maine.”
“Oh. Scratch that.”
“Technically, an hour outside of Portland.” Where he had been the biggest fish in their tiny pond of bad boys. And had absolutely nothing on the people in Seattle, including the woman beside him.
“What’s it like?”
“Cold. Very cold. I was thrilled to move here for the rain.”
“Seriously?”
“You have no idea. I would rather spend the rest of my life wet and in above freezing temperatures than to shovel snow one more winter.”
“I can’t imagine. This is the first place I’ve lived that didn’t have bikini weather. But I love it. The people are so real and accepting.”
Avery nodded politely since he hadn’t been in town long enough to tell.
Sasha tilted her head. “I think I might like you.” She reached up on her toes, gave him a peck on the lips, and traipsed off toward the stage where Schlong tuned their guitars and tested their bass and drums.

Her Sinful Angel – Excerpt

Nina groaned and rolled onto her back, tossing her right arm above her head. Rather than the expected soft pillow, it struck something firmly padded. She loosed another muffled moan and frowned, the urge to open her sore eyes and see what she had hit dampened by the riot in her head. Sweat trickled between her breasts and soaked her back where it pressed into the hard whatever it was she was lying on.

Her couch?

She couldn’t remember it being this uncomfortable.

But if it wasn’t her couch, what was it?

More than that, where was she?

Her frown deepened as she tried to recall whether she had gone out after work with her small group of friends, had possibly had a little too much to drink, and had ended up on one of their couches.

She couldn’t remember anything after leaving work for the evening.

A prickling sensation ran down her spine and over her limbs, and she pulled down a sharp breath. She had probably drunk a little too much. It had been a Friday night after all. It wouldn’t be the first time she had taken things too far when attempting to unwind and forget her worries.

A scuffing sound sent another bolt of panic through her bones and she cracked her eyes open, an apology to whichever friend had taken her in balanced on her lips.

Those words fled her when her gaze settled straight on a tall elegantly dressed black-haired man who stood a few feet from her, staring down at her with eyes the colour of pure gold.

Incredible.

But also terrifying.

She didn’t know this man.

Nina shoved herself up on the seat, her damp palms gripping the black velvet and giving her purchase. Every instinct she possessed said to flee, to make an excuse and run like hell, but her head turned violently and all she could do was bite out a moan from between clenched teeth and press her left hand to her forehead.

“You are unwell?” The deep lush male voice washed over her like a soothing balm, easing the pain in her skull and her fear at the same time.

He moved, the soft click of his heels alerting her that he was drawing closer. Her panic went into overdrive again and she scrambled backwards to place some distance between them, hit nothing where the rear of the couch should have been, and landed hard on a cold floor with her legs sticking up in the air.

She stared in surprise at her tights-clad feet and the dark ceiling beyond them, needing a moment to take in what had just happened.

The man appeared above her, his head canting and his golden eyes narrowing as he looked down at her. “Did you hurt yourself?”

Nina quickly shook her head and clutched at the hem of her black skirt, keeping it covering her thighs. She had already made a fool of herself. She didn’t need to go adding flashing her knickers at this man to that. Besides, she still wasn’t sure who he was, how she knew him, or where she was. A flash of panties might be seen as an invitation, and as handsome as this man was, she wasn’t about to invite him between her legs, no matter how long it had been since she had slept with a guy.

She rolled onto her side and scrambled back onto her feet, practically leaping onto them to evade the hand he offered. He stared at his outstretched hand as she smoothed her skirt down, his left eyebrow quirking in a manner that looked a heck of a lot like irritation to her.

When he moved, she expected him to advance towards her.

He retreated instead, backing towards an unlit black marble fireplace against an equally black wall behind him and lowering his hand to his side at the same time.

Nina looked around her as something dawned on her.

Everything in the damned room was black.

Where the hell was she? Some sort of goth retreat?

“There is no need to panic. I do not mean you any harm. You were left in the courtyard of this house and were brought in to keep you safe.”

Nina’s gaze whipped back to the handsome man.

And hell, he was handsome. The sort of man that could have a horde of women swooning with little more than a smile, their knees buckling beneath them. She wasn’t immune to his beauty. She wasn’t sure any woman would be able to say that she was. If they did, they would be a liar.

He oozed wicked sensuality as he stared across the room at her, his golden eyes fixed with hawk-like intensity on hers and his soft lips tilted at the corners into a hint of a smile.

Nina shook her head to rid it of the dangerous thoughts piling up in it and focused on what the man had said.

“Keep me safe?” She frowned at that, another ripple of panic running through her as she tried to guess the answer to that question and feared what he would say.

He toyed with the left cuff of his black shirt and then smoothed the fine sleeve of his black suit jacket over it, carefully adjusting it until it was perfect.

Just like him.

Nina shoved that little voice out of her head, determined to focus on the matter at hand and not the man at hand. She was in a strange place, in a stranger’s house, and he was saying that she was in danger.

“You are safe now,” he said with silken persuasiveness that had her dumbly nodding in agreement even when she didn’t honestly feel safe. “The man who brought you here is gone.”

“A man?” Nina’s eyes widened as she tried to remember what had happened to her but her mind remained blank, refusing to supply anything beyond leaving work for the evening.

He nodded and smiled, and it hit her hard in the chest, knocking the wind from her and sending her head spinning.

Her panic returned full force. “I want to go home.”

The man’s smile held. “I am afraid that is not possible yet, but arrangements will be made for your return. If you tell me where you live, I will pass on the information and they will see to it.”

They? Pass on the information? Was he the master of this house or a servant?

“London… I live in London. Anywhere in London will do.” She figured it couldn’t hurt to tell him the city she was from, but she wasn’t about to hand out her address to him. She still wasn’t sure whether there was another man who had taken her, or whether it was an elaborate lie to throw her off his scent.

What if this man had been the one to take her?

She twisted her hand in her white blouse, tugging at the material, struggling to breathe as a weight pressed down on her chest and she fought the wave of panic that threatened to sweep her away. She had to focus.

Her gaze fell to his hands as he toyed with his cuff again, neatening it, and her eyebrows pinched together. He had black nails. Why did he have black nails? Everything about him screamed businessman or butler, but he had black painted nails. She stared at them, unable to drag her eyes away. They were a bit too polished and impeccable. Were they false nails?

Acrylic?

They distracted her and she lost herself in pondering what they were made from and why he had black nails. It was only when the sensation of his piercing gaze on her faded and he moved his hands behind his back that she snapped back to the room. What was wrong with her today?

She was normally quite focused, but she felt foggy, her mind all over the place and easily lured into concentrating on the smallest things when the bigger picture was demanding her attention. She was starting to get the impression that it wasn’t purely panic altering her behaviour, and that only panicked her further.

“You should breathe.” Those three softly spoken words had her lifting her gaze back to the man’s sober face. The moment their eyes locked, her fear subsided again and the weight on her chest began to dissipate.

Nina breathed slowly but steadily, drawing each breath deep into her lungs.

“Can you recall what happened to you?” he said.

She lowered her eyes to her bare feet, her dark stockings not quite black enough to make them blend into the cool stone floor, and frowned as she searched for an answer to his question.

“I remember leaving work.” Nina looked down at her blouse, at the gash in the soft white material, and wondered for what felt like the hundredth time what had happened between leaving work and waking in this strange room.

Her head ached, throbbing deeply as she struggled to capture the barest sliver of a memory, just one moment that might help her understand what had happened to her. When the ache became a stabbing pain that felt as if someone was pushing a hot needle through her brain, she pressed her hand to her forehead, screwed her eyes shut and grimaced.

A flash of a shadowy figure blasted across her mind.

A man.

Nina raised her chin and opened her eyes, staring across the room at the black-haired man. “You were right. There was a man… but I can’t remember what he looked like.”

She tried but her head hurt so much that her stomach turned, sickness brewing there as the pain intensified. What had the man done to her? Was it drugs? Was that why her brain was so fuzzy?

“Do you know of any reason why someone might want to harm you?” The man took a step towards her and fear clashed with panic again, welling up to stir the sickness in her belly and bring bile up her throat.

She backed off a few steps, shaking her head in denial even though her heart and head screamed that there might be. It was entirely possible that someone was out to hurt her, and that meant that everything the man said had happened, had happened.

Someone had grabbed her, drugged her, and this man or someone from this house had saved her.

Nina’s back hit a wall and she gasped. The man’s eyes narrowed on her and she looked away, afraid he would see the truth in her eyes. She didn’t want him to get into trouble because of her, at least not any more than he already had.

Had he been the one to save her?

Her throat closed again as she thought about that, sure he must have fought the man off in order to help her. She squeezed her eyes shut and pressed her palms against the wall behind her, her fingertips clawing at the smooth surface as she tried to anchor herself in the swirling storm of her emotions.

“I want to leave.” She managed to get the words out but they were quiet, lacking the force and conviction she had wanted to convey in them.

Because part of her didn’t want to leave. Part of her feared what was waiting for her out there. If he had sent someone to take her once, he could send someone again. She had known him too long to believe he would just let her go. She should have been on her guard after rejecting him. She should have expected him to pursue her with the same aggressive intent as he had the time she had fallen in love with him.

Before he had crushed her.

The man’s gaze bore into her, commanding her to open her eyes and look at him, to find the strength to say those words with more conviction so he would let her leave.

She had to protect him.

He didn’t know what he had become involved in by helping her and she didn’t want him to pay for his kindness.

Not as she had paid for hers so many times and in so many ways.

 BLP REVIEW ~ Tracy

I’ve been looking forward to finding out more about Lucifer since we met him in Veiron & Erin’s book, Her Demonic Angel.

You know the view of the devil we have, he’s nasty, cold, abusive and has no feelings…. yeah, well, Felicity totally blew that out of the water when she gave us Her Sinful Angel. She showed us that there was another side to the ruler of the underworld that no-one would have ever thought possible.

Lucifer was, IMO, quite endearing. His attitude towards Nina initially was one of distrust and that was understandable given how she had arrived in Hell and the games that the realms had played previously.

The attraction between the pair is undeniable but the uncertainty on both parts about their feelings and what is causing them saw them both pull back to try to work out what was going on.
Their story was actually really sweet and developed steadily into the sensual, hot and heady read that we’ve come to love from Ms Heaton.

Nina was a great character, a human with absolutely no idea that there was anything more than the mortal world in existence, she was exactly what Lucifer needed though he himself didn’t know it!!
His story was actually kinda sad – hearing of his fall from Heaven and his thoughts and feelings around what happened to him and why gave us a different perspective to his personality and those who had banished him.

Her Sinful Angel could easily be read as a standalone but as Veiron and Erin make an appearance in the story a read of book 5, Her Demonic Angel would help make sense of the relationships & some of the things that happen in Lucifer’s book!

Another hit for Felicity and a definite new favourite of mine, Her Sinful Angel is a solid 5* and recommended read!!

Six years ago, Chad’s hunt for a dangerous treasure turned deadly when his family home was set on fire, his parents killed. Faking his and his sister Amy’s death to protect her from further retaliation, he set her up in a new life with a friend’s help, letting her believe he’d died.

But now the men who hired Chad to find the treasure have found him, imprisoning and torturing him to learn where it’s hidden. A dark-haired beauty named Gia helps him escape, promising him access to his worst enemy. And as he tries to unravel the deep secrets of the past, he starts falling for her…only to discover she’s not what she seems.

Unable to trust anyone, Chad focuses on only two things: protecting his sister Amy and getting revenge. Is love even possible in the midst of heartache?

Excerpt

I join her at the sink, where she’s struggling to get the bandage wrapped around her palm. I grab her hand and take over and our eyes lock and collide, the air instantly thick with a huge dose of lust-filled distrust.
“You’re going to get caught in here,” she warns softly, as if she can’t quite find her voice.
“It’s a Walmart in Texas,” I tell her. “They’re happy if you manage to show up with pants on.”
She laughs despite an effort to stop herself. “I suppose so. I’m just nervous about getting attention we don’t need.”
“We’re fine.” I fit some tape over the bandage on her hand and dump the supplies back inside the basket sitting on the counter.
“Right,” she agrees. “I know we are.”
She doesn’t sound convinced, and I can’t seem to quell my need to convince her otherwise. “Don’t let my getting captured fool you. It took him years to find me. I’m good at what I do. He won’t find me again. That means he won’t find you.”
“Until you’re done with me,” she murmurs, cutting her gaze away from me, and for the first time since that bedroom in East Austin, fear radiates off her. I tell myself to let it go, that she could be working me over, but I can’t seem to care.
I slip a finger under her chin and force her gaze to mine. “No matter what your intentions were when this started tonight, if you help me, really help me, I’ll make sure you stay protected.”
“I don’t work for him, and I don’t know why I’m even saying that again. I know I can’t convince you.”
“I told you. Help me. I’ll help you. Okay?”
“Yes. Okay.” She’s not convinced, and the truth is, neither am I. I stayed away from people until Meg, Amy included, for a reason. People die when they’re near me, but I’m not telling Gia that, and I let my hand fall away, settling both on my hips.
She hugs herself and for several beats we simply stare at each other, until she wets her lips, and I try not to look at her mouth, or think about kissing her, but I fail. I think about it. In vivid, I-want-to-fuck-her detail.
“This is what you do?” she asks. “How you live? Always looking over your shoulder? Is that how I have to live?”
“I, like others in the organization I work for, find what no one else can find.”
“For a price.”
“Yes. For a price.”

My mouth watered as I looked at her. Something about her energy seemed electric and wild. Fiona’s eyes sparkled with defiance, and she glared in my direction. I stood from the chair and started to walk towards her. “I swear to God, Gabe, if you touch me—I’ll scream.”

I licked my lips as I looked at her in silence.

I took another step towards her, close enough to get my first whiff of her perfume. While she stared at me with a look of uncertainty on her face, I relished the feeling of being close to her once again. My cock twitched as I watched her ample breasts heave. In between frenetic gulps of air, her chest moved up and down, tempting my hands to touch them.

“What are you doing, Gabe?” she whispered. “Don’t push me.”

I narrowed my gaze as I looked at her mouth. More than anything, I wanted to press my lips against hers. Fiona continued to fight through labored breath as I moved closer yet again. Her lips parted, and I was almost close enough to feel the heat as it escaped from the between them.

Just then, Fiona broke my gaze and her eyes darted towards the conference room door. Within a fraction of a second, she moved as if she were trying to escape, but as she did, I slammed my hand against the wall, palm flat, blocking her exit. She snapped her head in my direction, and I wasted no more time.

I crushed my mouth into hers, pinning her head against the wall. Right away, Fiona resisted me with everything she had. After a moment or two, she shook her head with a violent thrash, and broke her lips free of mine.

“Stop it, Gabe,” she warned. Lifting her hand, she wiped her mouth with the back of her palm.

I smiled as I looked into her eyes.

“I mean it,” she began. “I’m not kidding around. If you so much as touch me again, I’ll knee you right in the balls.”

But just as she finished speaking, I noticed the tiniest of twitches underneath Fiona’s eye. She didn’t believe her own bluff. I extended my other arm. Now with both palms flat against the wall, I engulfed her with my presence.

Without hesitation, I leaned my entire body into her, pinning her against the wall with my weight. My lips met hers and I drove my tongue inside her mouth. Predictably, Fiona resisted, squealing and moaning and otherwise protesting, until at last, I felt the rigidness fade from her body.

Review

Amanda’s a stereotypical bored housewife. Her life would be mundane if not for the wild predicament she’s in: her husband’s buddy has been blackmailing her for sexual favors. (To learn more of how that came about, check out the prior book in the series, Amanda’s Descent. You don’t absolutely need to read them in order but it will help and it also wasn’t a bad read either.)

The book begins with a little of this background (again, if you want more, read the other book) and the author informs us that most of Craig’s advances occur when the husband Mark is away on business. He works to bring new accounts into the company, and is out of town quite often. In the opening chapter, though, we learn that Mark is about to be promoted, and his “Rocket Man” days will be a thing of the past. This will put a serious damper on Craig’s exploits with Amanda. Craig hatches a plan: seven people are in line to interview for Mark’s old job, and he reasons that if these interviews don’t occur, his friend can’t be replaced and promoted. Amanda’s mission… or, her “Assignment”, will be to stop the interviews from happening. It’s a slightly shaky premise… but just go with it. The story quickly moves along and gets us into the action.

All in all, six men (and one woman) are scheduled for interviews, and Amanda has to stop them from keeping the appointments by any means necessary. In two of the scenarios, she actually pretends to be the interviewer and “hijacks” the interview process. For others, she uses deceit and subterfuge, including fake car trouble, burglary and a strategic coffee spill. At one point, she even participates in a video game contest of “strip Xbox” to keep her mission alive.

The husband’s friend, Craig, is the protagonist… but he also isn’t. You will have to read the book to fully understand what I mean. But, like in Descent, Craig arranges depraved sexual encounters for Amanda and then recedes into the background. In fact, he’s only in two and a half scenes in this story. In this reviewer’s opinion, this actually serves to take the story to another level. Rather than having Craig grab Amanda by the arm and say “go seduce that guy” or “you had better have sex with that couple”–Amanda’s character is given the latitude to explore on her own. In many of the scenes, she’s assertive, taking charge and dominating her partner. In other scenes, the blackmail/forced scenario plays out (Amanda is handcuffed in two scenes and pinned by a jealous wife in another.)

All in all, a very enjoyable journey.

–Mandy Wolfe (Goodreads reviewer)

Excerpt

He kissed her. Amanda kissed back heartily. She knew this would encourage Craig further, but the alternative was to piss him off.

His mouth moved to her neck and his hands were now cupping her breasts, gently fondling them. Warily, she kept an eye on the doorway and the stairway beyond.

“Craig…”

His right hand broke away and glided down her belly. His mouth took its place on her left breast, sucking her nipple in between his teeth. Now his hand crossed the threshold of her waistband, slipping into her panties toward her clit. In a couple of seconds, he would find out how wet she was, and probably tease her about it.

Amanda shut her eyes.

“Craig, please, my husband is in the house…”

“But it would be ok if he wasn’t?” He gave a low chuckle–this was his way of reminding her what a whore he’d turned her into.

“No… I meant…”

His finger began stroking her clit. The redhead exhaled sharply.

“Do you want me to stop, Amanda?”

The tormented housewife knew it was a no-win question. If I say yes, he teases me and humiliates me… and keeps using me anyway. If I say no… then I’m the whore he tells me I am.

He gave her nipple a bite. She winced, but remained still.

“Well? Amanda, should I stop?”

“Yes,” she pleaded. “Just for now, because he’s in the house,” she added, trying to find middle ground.

He continued to rub her clit and to suck on her nipple. She gripped the bench top tightly, trying simultaneously to enjoy his attentions and to not enjoy them. Gradually, she resigned herself to the fact that the end result would be the same–Craig doing with her as he pleased–so she relaxed slightly. His fingers felt really good, and his mouth… as long as he wasn’t biting, it was just fine by Amanda.

His hand wandered lower, and two of his fingers slid into her now.

“Damn, you’re so wet, Amanda…”

She was sure that he’d taunt her about her arousal, but he didn’t. Thankful, she gave a contented moan.

From upstairs, there were footsteps. Hastily, Amanda pulled Craig’s hand out of her shorts while squirming away from his oral attention.

“What are you doing?” he demanded quietly.

“My husband… he’s coming…”

Craig seemed unfazed. “Put your hands back where I told you.” Before waiting for her to obey, he grabbed her wrists and led them back till she was again reluctantly gripping the bench top.

“Craig…” But he’d already slid his hand back into her panties, and turned his oral attentions to her right breast now. This time, though, he wasn’t being gentle. His teeth found the base of her hard nipple and bit into it. Amanda responded with a strangled yelp. To her chagrin, she could also feel herself growing wetter.

He felt it too, but merely laughed and fingered her faster.

Footsteps continued from upstairs.

“Craig,” she whispered urgently, “he’s going to catch us…”

“Cum, Amanda,” he replied, his teeth never loosing their grip on her tender flesh. He stabbed his fingers deep into her, and she realized his intention. He was going to keep fucking her with his fingers until he made her cum. And, unlike with her clit, when he finished her off this way, Amanda knew that she would squirt. Her panties and her shorts would be soaked–it was bad enough that she’d have to sneak upstairs to change her blouse, but Craig was bent on leaving her looking and smelling like sex, and at the risk of being caught by her husband.

“Rub my clit, please,” she implored, her eyes dancing nervously on the ceiling as she listened for Mark. “Please, Craig, that’ll make me cum…”

He fingered her faster. “This will make you cum, too.”

“No…”

“No? Then maybe you need more stimulation…” His mouth moved back to her left tit, and his teeth cruelly bit into the pink flesh of her already aching nipple.

Ohhhhh!” Although it was against his orders, she brought her hand up and shoved her wrist into her mouth, stifling her cry of pain. This time, he didn’t let up, and Amanda willed herself to keep still. Squirming would only increase the agony, she knew from prior Craig experience.

Her pussy, on the other hand, was another matter entirely. The violated redhead could feel herself dripping all over Craig’s fingers, and indeed there was now very little in the way of friction down there…

Amanda’s Descent

The first book, Amanda’s Descent, follows the beginning of Amanda’s adventure, showing us how she’s transformed from an ordinary housewife to a sex slave…

“Not for the faint of heart… what starts out as a simple dare turns into a full blown series of sexually charged scenes… until you are out of breath, and in some serious needs of your own…”

–Heidi Lis (Amazon reviewer)

“My husband called this book stroke material when I told him what I had just finished reading. This book is super HOT and down and dirty!”

–Tanya Rae Walling (Amazon and Goodreads reviewer)

“…although I did feel sorry for Amanda…I would have had a go at her myself…”

FUNNY HOW LIFE plays practical jokes.
The past few days—that had to be a fucking joke, right?
No logical answer would make sense of what I’d seen, heard, and lived the past seventy-two hours.
My sister.
My best friend and twin.
This was what she’d been living with? This was how she’d been treated?
This was what she wanted to return to?
Motherfucking why? Why would she ever want to return to this insanity?
We’d been raised in a broken home, chained to an empire that absorbed us right from birth. But we were kept safe, warm, and loved. We grew up together. We shared everything.
But now…I had no fucking clue who my sister was.
But then she came to me.
A woman I never knew existed.
The most stunning creature I’d ever seen.
Only she didn’t come to me on feet or wings of an angel. She rolled into my life and demanded my help.
And for better or for worse…
I helped her.

nila

“LET ME GO!”
Daniel cackled like a mad hyena, his fingers stabbing into my bicep. Without breaking his stride, he stole me further away from the parlour and into the bowels of the house.
I didn’t want to go. I didn’t want to go anywhere with him.
“Take me back!”
He can’t be dead!
Just because he lay unmoving and bloody didn’t mean he was gone.
That’s exactly what it means.
I shook my head, dislodging those awful thoughts. He’s alive. He had to be.
I couldn’t tolerate any other answer. I refused to live in a world where evil triumphed over good. That wasn’t right—life couldn’t be that cruel.
It’s always been that way.
My mind filled with images of my mother. My father’s desolation. My broken childhood. Evil had puppeteered us from day one. Why should now be any different?
He’s not dead!
I swallowed a sob.
Please don’t be dead…
I fought harder. “Let me see him. You can’t do this!”
Daniel cackled louder. “Keep begging, Weaver. Won’t do you any good.”
He’s not dead!
I locked my knees, fighting him every step. “Stop!” Looking back the way we’d come, the door to the parlour seemed so far away—a bright beacon at the end of a festering corridor. “They were your brothers, you insane psychopath. Don’t you feel anything?!”
Please let me go to him. He has to be alive…
Please let my twin stay alive…
Let all of this be a nightmare!
I couldn’t cope with Jethro murdered; I’d go clinically insane if they killed V, too.
“I feel relief. I no longer have to put up with their simpering bullshit.” He flashed his teeth. “Cut did us all a favour.”
Cut will die.
He was evil incarnate. He deserved to die in excruciatingly painful ways.
I refuse to believe they’re dead.
“I said stop!” I wriggled harder, only succeeding in Daniel’s fingers tearing into my flesh. Goosebumps covered my skin while ice steadily froze my veins. Every second was endless torture. I couldn’t live without Jethro.
It can’t end like this!
“You won’t win, Weaver.” Daniel tugged harder. “Accept what’s fucking happened and obey me.”

fourth debt 2

Excerpt #2

Cut shook his head, looking at his mother. “They never fucking learn.”
Bonnie laughed. “Neither did you, dear. Not for a long time.”
He wrapped an arm around her brittle shoulders. “I can’t imagine ever being so terrible.”
My fingernails dug into my palm as I witnessed a seemingly normal bond. How could evil have so many layers? How could it be so obvious one moment, then hidden by family ties and hierarchy the next?
Bonnie tapped her cane against Cut’s foot. “You’re not forgetting what you did, are you? Because I have news for you—you were worse. A lot worse.” Moving forward, she dislodged his hold. “But I straightened out the mess you made. I put things right. I have every faith you will, too.”
Cut nodded. “Damn right, I will.” His eyes strained but apart from a few cracks in his smooth veneer, I would never have guessed he’d pulled the trigger on two of his children.
He’s dead.
He’s dead.
All because of me.
Inching closer to Jasmine, I whispered so only she would hear. “He tried to shoot you, but Jethro saved you. Do you have no shame?”
Her eyes zeroed in on mine. Thoughts and emotions flickered over her face but she didn’t reply.
Her betrayal hurt. Jethro and Kes had loved her. They’d died for her. Who could claim to love them in return yet continue to be in the same house as the man who’d shot them?
My stomach twisted. “You make me sick.”
Her hands tightened around the rims of her wheels. Shutters slammed over her eyes, but still no response.
Tears stung but I had nothing else to say. Only one promise that she might as well hear, so she’d know who truly loved her brother. “I’ll kill you for this. Just like I’ll kill them.”

Alex I locked my door and turned on my stereo, I was in the mood for some loathing. Rotating the multidisc, I selected Rod Zombie’s Astro-Creep, and reached under my bed for the hidden bottle of my father’s Wild Turkey. It was my shitty attempt at keeping some alcohol out of his hands. I twisted the cap off and put the bottle to my lips, preparing myself for the path to self-destruction.

I picked up my foam football and began to toss it up and down in the air. I pressed the bottle to my lips and sucked back another gulp. The whiskey burned as it tore down my throat and wrestled with my insides.

“Bye Alex,” my mother shouted through the door. “We’ll see you Thursday.”

“Yeah, see ya,” I shouted, giving the door the bird. I gargled another mouthful of bourbon. I really should have mixed this with Coke, but I couldn’t be bothered.

Rod Zombie’s voice filled the room and my head banged while I sung the lyrics. When my mum was this happy, it pissed me off. He’d bought her over, again. With that thought, I took another swig and felt the effects of the alcohol sending tingles across my skin. Another trip, another injury paid for. What did he do last time? I ground my teeth as I blocked that night out. I want to feel numb. The tingles continued to crawl up my skin. Mission accomplished.

That was it. I’d decided. Back to meaningless sex. Or sex without a girlfriend tag attached. I swung again, sending the amber liquid down. My mouth burned. I studied the label closely. How can people drink this shit?

Girlfriends were too much hard work, or better yet, conniving lying bitches. And friends who were girls? Girls you’d known forever? Well fuck—they were even worse. Gripping the football, I squeezed it until my hand whitened and let it go. I watched it fall to the floor. I smacked my lips together as they numbed. Girls. Friends. You trusted the ones you hung out with, and then they dropped you like a sack of shit. Giving you the freeze out. Bring back the easy lays.

My vision blurred as the posters on my wall went out of focus. I lifted the bottle and inspected it. Half empty. That was quick. Shrugging, I took another swig and tried to focus on my posters. Dad was gonna be pissed that I nicked his bottle. I nodded and chuckled. It would be great to piss him off. No, Alex, it would not. My fuckin’ conscience had decided to join in. Piss off, conscience.

I stared into space as images of Bea began flicking through my mind. Her tear-stained face, her angry eyes in her room, her being thrown into a locker, her long legs … argh! I shook my head, but it did nothing to curb her face from haunting me. Now her bright blue eyes were dull and her smile—cracked. Her skin became pale as her hair hung limply to the side. She’d changed. She was broken. I wasn’t there. I wasn’t there. I couldn’t keep her safe. The room spun and I struggled to focus. Where was I, again? I tipped my chin against my chest as I rocked back and forth. My mouth opened as the colours of my carpet combined in a putrid mess. My arms flailed out as my balance wobbled, my feet suddenly flicked out in front and I crashed face down on my bed. The bottle rolled just past me to the other side, leaving me exhausted, sick, and passed out with dreams of a sad blue-eyed girl whose trust I had destroyed.
