Some sort of Happy is LIVE!
Synopsis
Skylar Nixon is a twenty-seven year old failed actress with no Plan B. After a humiliating stint on a reality TV show crushes what’s left of her childhood dream, she finds herself back in her hometown with no money saved, no college degree, and no confidence she’s anything but a joke—a small town starlet who couldn’t hack it in the big city.
When she runs into former classmate Sebastian Pryce, she can’t believe the hot body and chiseled jaw belong to the shy, troubled loner she knew ten years before. He’s not exactly friendly at first, and she’s heard the rumors about his tragic past, but something in his sad eyes intrigues her. She only wants to get to know him better.
Until the night she wants more—and takes it. (Hard and deep. Twice.)
Are they just two lonely people seeking solace? Or can a disgraced beauty queen and flawed, frustrated man find some sort of happy ever after?
**SOME SORT OF HAPPY is a full-length, dual POV novel, complete with a happy ending.**

BLP REVIEW ~ Tracy
I’ve never read a Melanie Harlow book before starting Some Sort of Happy but I’ll be checking out her backlist now!!
Reading the blurb for this book I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect but whatever it was was way different from the story that I read and I have to say is one of my favourite reads of the past year!!!
SSOH was packed full of smokin’ hot sex – jeez, this pair nigh on burned out my kindle with their antics (which is always a fab thing in a book like this), laugh out loud funny moments, sweet and tender scenes, frustrating to the point of pulling your hair out chapters, but most of all the book was about 2 people finding their way through life to a place where they can be themselves and their own sort of happy!
Skylar – she was a little girl lost. The one who had always been told how wonderful she was until she left home to go turn her hand at being an actress… The one t.v show she made it on to didn’t work out well at all and now she’s slunk home to lick her wounds and try to figure out what her life is really about!
Sebastian – gods, I love my heroes a bit broken and in need of help so Mr. Pryce hit all of my buttons! Sebastian was the geeky kid at high school that most folk avoided ‘cos he was a bit ‘odd’. He grew up to be a complex, tormented man who had the capacity to love and live a happy life but he couldn’t believe that he was capable or worthy of either!
I adored both characters. Skylar’s family and the other characters in the book where a great supporting cast and I can’t wait to meet them again in the series!
Melanie had me on a bit of an emotional roller-coaster while reading ~ in tears at one point in particular only to turn the page and be laughing like a loon!
There was so much emotion, insight and depth to the character of Sebastian, you could tell reading that this story was written by someone who had experience of life with the condition and issues our hero was living with.
Sometimes, when we are dealing with an illness you have to find the funny, the lighter moments, the light at the end of the tunnel or you’d drown in the darkness and fear and that’s what MH did with the story between Skylar and Sebastian! (Boyoboy, sorry peeps, I didn’t mean to get too heavy on you there!!!)
Do yourself a big favour – pick this book up today – as I said earlier, this is up there with in my favourites of the year list and will be a definite re-read for a long time to come!
My rating ~ 5 huge HAPPY stars….. I’d give it more if I could!!!!!! ❤
