Posted by Book Loving Pixies
Hi guys, today I’m taking part in Carrie Ann Ryan’s Blog Tour for her new book ‘Hidden Destiny’ ~ Book #6 in the Redwood Pack series!!

Carrie Ann has very kindly take some time out of her hectic schedule to join us today and answer some questions! So, without further a-do, let’s get this show on the road…..
BLP: What made you decide to get into paranormal romance writing?
CAR: I loved wolves and when I was thinking of a dominant male, his wolf spoke to me too.
BLP: What came first idea wise – the paranormal or the romance?
CAR: The romance. It’s always the romance for me. I love HEAs.
BLP: What’s a typical work day like for you Carrie Ann?
CAR: Wake up, coffee, write, lunch, write some more, emails, and then the 4938493 other things like promo and plotting that comes with being a writer LOL.
BLP: How do you come up with the ideas for characters & plots in your books?
CAR: I think of the characters first and then figure out who they are. The plot comes from now I can challenge what the characters think they know and what they can do.
BLP: How do you keep disciplined in your writing?
CAR: I have deadlines beyond deadlines. And keep a word count spreadsheet LOL.
BLP: Is there a specific reason you write shifters & other paranormal genres but not vampires?
CAR: Um, when I was thinking of ideas, I couldn’t come up with anything new with vampires. I love reading them, but the ideas didn’t flow.
BLP: What is your favorite time of day (or night) to write?
CAR: It depends on my mood LOL. I used to write at night, but now I write mid morning.
BLP: Who are your favorite author(s) and/or book(s)?
CAR: Nalini Singh. Hands down LOL
BLP: How would you describe yourself?
CAR: A homebody who, when they are actually out of the house, is very sociable. I’m as perky and sarcastic in real life as I sound on twitter LOL.
BLP: If you could meet any one particular person (past or present) would you choose & why?
CAR: Other than authors? Hmmm….Chris Helmsworth? Was I supposed to be cool with that one? LOL
BLP: ** I’m sure the girls will agree with you on this one Carrie!!! 🙂
BLP: Tell us something about you that nobody else knows.
CAR: I have a chipped tooth from a racket incident with my cousin.
BLP: What’s your favourite thing to do if you have a day off?
CAR: Read. 😀
Thanks Carrie Ann for joining us today, it’s been a lot of fun. I loved Hidden Destiny and can’t wait for more in the series…..

Author Bio (with links):
USA Today Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan never thought she’d be a writer. Not really. No, she loved math and science and even went on to graduate school in chemistry. Yes, she read as a kid and devoured teen fiction and Harry Potter, but it wasn’t until someone handed her a romance book in her late teens that she realized that there was something out there just for her. When another author suggested she use the voices in her head for good and not evil, The Redwood Pack and all her other stories were born.
Carrie Ann is a bestselling author of over twenty novels and novellas and has so much more on her mind (and on her spreadsheets *grins*) that she isn’t planning on giving up her dream anytime soon.

ExCErPT:
“Her wolf wanted to eat him up—one tasty morsel at a time.
Lexi Anderson sighed.
No, that wouldn’t be happening.
It didn’t matter that she wanted to lick the man at the party with many generous swipes of her tongue because it just wouldn’t happen.
It didn’t matter that she wanted to bury her hands in his hair while he pumped himself into her, their sweat-slicked bodies sliding against one another as they came together hard.
It still wouldn’t be happening.
She took a deep breath, the outside air filling her lungs and cooling her down—at least somewhat. As she tried to relax, she took in her surroundings, needing something far greater than her to function. The trees stood around them, tall, ancient, almost comforting. The sun warmed her skin in the cooling air, though just from looking at the man across from her, she was heated plenty already.
She took another breath, holding it in for as long as she could. The scent of forest and the coming rain would never be enough for her.
Lexi would never know the feeling of the land beneath her four paws, the brush of wind in her fur, nor the release of home and center when the moon’s pull finally took her wolf.
No, she would never have any of that, yet she should have been used to it by now.
She’d been a latent wolf—a wolf trapped within her body, unable to shift, but still part of her in a sense—for all fifty years of her life, and wishing for something different was only making things harder for her. Since latent wolves couldn’t shift into their wolf forms, they were forever bound to their human forms and cut off from the wolf part of their souls. They couldn’t even hear their other half’s thoughts. Oh, they could feel something, or at least feel the instincts and some of the urges that came with being a wolf, but they didn’t feel the same connection that others did.
It had been a miracle in itself that she’d survived into adulthood, as most latent wolves died from the added stress to their bodies because of their inability to shift.
She was one of the lucky ones.
If one could call it that.”

BOOK LOVING PIXIE:
MY REVIEW:
I love the Redwood Pack series from Carrie Ann Ryan… ‘Shattered Emotions’ which was Book #5 (Maddox & Ellie’s story) gave us a great lead up to North & Lexi’s book and left us in no doubt that there would be lots of action and a few surprises in ‘Hidden Destiny’ but who would have guessed just how big these were going to be!!!
North Jamenson is Maddox’s twin, the quiet brother and doctor of the pack.
Lexi Anderson is a latent wolf and, along with her son & brother, is a new member of the Redwood Pack. North & Lexi are quickly aware that they are potential mates but they both have dark secrets that they are hiding.
Hidden Destiny was a fantastic read. I loved North and was broken for him with how he felt he had to hide the secret about his wolf from everyone around him, as well as holding back his feeling for Lexi and struggling with his efforts to give her the room he knew she needed.
Lexi wants so much to be with him, but due to her own past & secrets, knew that that was unlikely to ever happen.
Due to all of these fears and uncertainty, their fight for a relationship was really interesting to follow…. their attraction, need & passion was scorching hot!!!
The surprises were fab, the twists kept me guessing and more magic from & warring with the Centrals had me shouting at my kindle!!
From how Carrie Ann left us at the end of HD, we just know that there’s gonna be loads more threats, surprises and battles in Cailin’s book – I can’t wait to see how (or even if) things work out for her and Logan!!!
Carrie Ann has given us another fantastic 5* read… I’ll be sorry when this series ends!
** I was fortunate to receive an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review**
