I grew up having no clue about the true meaning of love. Money. Cars. Houses. Status. Fame. That’s what love means to the people around me.

It wasn’t until the woman I picked up in a bar came back into my life and showed me love can be so much more.

So, what’s the problem?

The woman I’m falling in love with believes in fairytales. She compares everything to a storybook and wants the happily-ever-after.

So while she’s stuck on recreating stories that have already been told, page by page, I’m showing her it’s time we write our own book.

Nobody ever said the journey of falling in love would be easy, just that it would be worth it.

The Pickup was my first read by Nikki Ash and I really enjoyed it!!!

Nick and Olivia were great together – once he stopped being a douche (I got why he came across as kinda jaded and cynical at one point but I still wanted to slap him a time or two!).

There were a couple of very complex characters (friends of the leads) – I’ve got a few thoughts on what’s going on/has gone on with them and I’m sure they are gonna make for interesting reading when it comes to their books.

A little angst, a lot of sweet and sexy and tons of heart, with an interesting supporting cast of characters, this is a great second chance read and a really good start to the Imperfect Love series.
