Lesley Jones – I Love the Fuck Out of You That’s where I’ll start. I’ve spent four days unable to even start trying to put into words how I feel about this book. I am not eloquent enough, humorous enough or clever enough with words to do it justice, but fuck, do I wish I was. My love of reading has spanned nearly forty years and as an avid reader I have devoured many, many books across different genres with all types of writing styles as my tastes have changed over the years. The list of all-time favourites that I reread to death or the ones that have touched me for whatever reason and stay with me years after is miniscule in comparison to the amount read however, there are many I liked, lots I loved and some that amazed me but Carnage is in that tiny handful that are special beyond words. This crazy talented author has written this story so raw, real, gritty, sad, heartbreakingly crazy beautiful that I am literally shredded after finishing. I am going to say very little about the story because of spoilers, to experience these books you need to go in blind because you will not see it coming. No way. No how. Four fucking days later and I have the book hangover from hell. I got the “feels” so bad. I cried Ugly Tears when I finished Carnage #1. Sobbed like a crazy woman. Heartbroken and in awe of an author who took that type of chance. Wrote it as it was meant to be, no matter whether that was going to be the popular choice or not. Since finishing I have stalked Lesley Jones online (sorry I meant researched…) and discovered that initially it was meant as a standalone but, due to popular demand and threats of violence, she did Carnage#2. This gets difficult because if I put anything about the story of #2 here then I will spoil #1 for you if you haven’t already read it. So I’m only going to quote one tiny sentence that I loved and not disclose any spoilers. “Life’s fucked, Kitten. It’s cruel and twisted and it does spiteful things to good people. “ And that’s part of why this book touches you so deeply, because life is fucked and sad and crazy and beautiful with sometimes more bad shit than good, with times you can’t seem to claw your way out of but, if you are really lucky friends, family and that special certain someone will carry you through with love, laughter, tears and no bullshit reality checks. Then that fickle bitch Karma sometimes gives you the good surprises and second chances. The banter, love and affection between characters is funny as fuck especially between two main characters, I adored them together. I also want a brother like Marley and a friend like ‘No Filter’ Ash! As I’m a woman of a certain age I was LMAO at outfits to impress the boyfriend involving stilettos, fishnets and leather – been there, done that, got the t-shirt! So, as I sit here re-reading this review I’m as unhappy as I knew I would be. Because these books gutted and shredded me in the best, best way and if I had the words you would all be running off to one click them and experience Carnage. But if this means even just one reader discovers them then it was worth me trying. Lesley Jones has written the most amazing, heartbreakingly beautiful story I have read in many years with such a punch that I will return to these many times over years to come just because I won’t be able to resist, the draw is that strong.

Lesley Jones Biography
I was born and raised in a small working class town in Essex, just outside of East London. I am married with three sons and in 2006 we all moved to the other side of the world, settling on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, about 50K outside of Melbourne Australia. It’s a whole new way of life for us down here, we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world.I am currently a stay at home mum but in the past I have worked at Marks & Spencer, as a classroom assistant/teachers aid and have run my business.
As well as writing, I love to read and have been known to get through four or five books a week. My other interests are watching my boys play football…The round ball version. I am happy to admit to being an addict of social media and I owe a lot to my Facebook and Twitter family in promoting my work. I am also rather partial to a glass… or bottle of wine, a nicely chilled Marlborough Sav Blanc being my favorite. Being a born and raised Essex girl, I will happily admit to be being a big fan of spray tans, Shellac and am regularly, waxed, tinted and sculpted, although I am more likely to be found in thongs/flipflops than a pair of white stilettos these days.

There were no words to describe the physical pain knotting my insides every
time I realised it was true and not just a cruel dream.

so hard not to make the situation more difficult than it already was.
Swallowing the lump in my throat, I pulled away and gazed into her emerald eyes
one last time.

1. What can we expect with the continuation of Liv and Calum’s story?
Nyddi: Oh man. It’s totally different from book one yet it’s makes perfect sense that their story is now heading in the direction it’s heading. Calum began discovering a whole new side to himself in book one, but it was still so simple and so “Sweet” almost. In this book, things get crazier, darker, more dramatic. Liv is dealing with her relationship phobias/issues as well as her feelings for Calum. Calum is dealing with an utter lack of control because of her that he’s never dealt with before, and they’re both absolutely clueless as to how to deal with what’s happening.
2. Why the new direction?
Nyddi: I think it was always meant to be. When I wrote the first book, Calum’s personality developed on its own and he was so much more in control at first than any male I had ever written. He wasn’t an innocent, but he definitely wasn’t as wild as the men I usually write. At least, not that he was aware of. But I remember writing the scene when he first saw Livana, and his visceral reaction to her, and I felt that dominating “I’m going to pull your hair and own you” part of him awakening and I sensed his panic at that. He truly does not know how to accept this new side of him at first, especially when faced with such an independent woman such as Liv, who seems to sometimes not care whether she has him or not.
As for Livana, I truly think some people might not like her at first. This book is in her POV, and we get a front row seat to her mindset. She was hurt and betrayed in the worse way and she was really, really young when it happened. When you get hurt that bad at such a young age, you erect these faulty defense mechanisms in order to protect yourself from it happening ever again. Liv now has to deal with Calum tearing down each of those defenses one by one, although she’s nowhere near ready to trust anyone again.
3. How does this book tie in to what will be book 3 of your Allure series?
Nyddi: Well, the two series are tied together anyway, and they all are leading to my Obsessions Series (Angelina and Lucas). This book ties in because many of the events are happening during book two of Allure (Allure Magnified) and there are events at the end of this book that will be occurring during the beginning of Wrecked Allure, which will be the third and last installment of the Allure series.
And I will say no more on the matter! LOL I don’t want to give away too many spoilers :p
4. Tell us about the sex scenes. Calum is slowly losing more and more control when it comes to Liv, and we’re dying to know how this translates in the bedroom ^_~
Nyddi: Who said anything about a bedroom? *Runs to check* Yup. I don’t think there’s a single love scene in this book that takes place anywhere near a bed…although, if you count his couch, then yeah, it was “near”. Then again, his house is really big LOL
Calum is exploring all these crazy new urges he has because of Livana, so trust me when I say that the new, upgraded Calum 2.0 is going to definitely rock her world. I’m barely surviving writing him!
5. What else are you working on now and what can we expect from you in the future?
Nyddi: The project I’m most immersed in, aside from CF, is Need. I’m writing that book with K.I. Lynn and OMG. I’ve already predicted that it will break me once we’re done writing it. It’s turned into one of the most emotional, fun, frustrating rollercoaster rides of my career. We’re almost at the halfway point and I have to say that I have never been prouder of something I’ve worked on before.
Bringing an alpha male to life alongside K.I. Lynn is exhilarating, hormonally painful, and spiritual all at once LOL! (I really, really mean this.) I am so excited for us to get this one done so we can show it off to the world.

N. Isabelle Blanco was born in Queens, NY (USA). At the age of three, due to an odd fascination with studying her mother’s handwriting, she began to read and write. By the time she’d reached kindergarten, she had an extensive vocabulary and her obsession with words began to bleed into every aspect of her life.

I love to read! I will read anything, literally. It may be a magazine, book, advertisement or even a cereal box. Specific authors that I follow have moved me to start writing. Before long that inspiration had produced a final product that I wasn’t even sure what I was going to do with. Obviously I hit publish and here I am.
Blessed with a great family that includes my husband, four kids, two dogs, and one hedgehog, I’ve lived in the Midwest all of my life. We currently live in a small town outside of Omaha, NE. Hearing him refer to me as Cherry, not Raegan, renews and strengthens my resolve. I want him to forget my given name. Anger will help him through this, and I’m letting him have it. Better he hate me alive than love me dead. “Okay, I’m a liar. Believe what you want to believe, but it doesn’t change anything.”
“What the fuck happened to your face?”
“It was an accident.”
Turning around, looking out the large window of the apartment, I barely hear his whisper. “An accident, she says.” A brief second passes before he continues, this time not only on a whisper, but a broken and shallow voice reaches out to me and I feel it touch me when it does. “Why are you doing this, Raegan?”

Having his back to me doesn’t make this easier; not any less painful in the slightest. “Because I love my son, and Vinnie will give me a life with him.”
Still looking out the window to the city below, he crosses his arms in front of him and from where I’m standing, I watch as he brings his hands to his face. I’m certain he’s wiping the evidence of my betrayal away, being in the form of his heartbreaking tears.

When enough time has passed and once he pulls himself back together, he’ll realize what I’ve done to him and he’ll have no choice but to resent me. “God, I’m so sorry, Ace. Please, I’m begging you. Don’t hate me.”
“Then don’t go.”
“I have to.”
