Excerpt:

“Do you want to dance?”

Dumb. That was dumb. There wasn’t any music. The jukebox had gone silent five minutes before and no one had approached it since. She was so stupid.

Cade turned from her, his hand going into his pocket. He walked away, her whole soul flattening. She didn’t even get an answer.

He walked straight to the jukebox, putting some money in and in a few seconds, a slow, sultry beat started to pound out. Cade turned back to her, holding out a single, callused, deeply masculine hand. God, she was fascinated by that hand. “Are you sure? I don’t know what I can offer you.”

She wasn’t sure of anything except the fact that if she walked out now she would hate herself forever. She might be able to forgive herself if she got played, but not if she didn’t try. She’d always tried. She’d wanted to be a lawyer so she’d applied to Harvard. She hadn’t let the fact that she didn’t have the money faze her. She’d gone for it. When she’d decided she wanted to marry Patrick, she’d told him they should get married.

She’d spent her whole life chasing what she wanted. Why couldn’t she ask for this?

“I’m not sure of anything.” She didn’t bother to hide her emotions. He’d been honest. She could be, too. “I’m scared out of my mind, but I want to dance. And I want a night with you both. Is that too much to ask? I won’t require anything from you but tonight, Cade Sinclair.”

She felt Jesse’s arms wrap around her waist. Pure pleasure. She was drawn back into his heat, his body. And Cade crowded her front. He put his forehead to hers, nuzzling her sweetly.

“I’ll dance with you. I should warn you, I’m not good. But I’ll dance as long as you like.” Cade pressed his body to hers, his hips swaying lightly. Jesse moved behind her.

The sweetness of the moment assailed her. She let one arm wrap around Jesse and the other drift around Cade as the music flowed over her. Her feet moved in time over Trio’s hardwood floors. She barely noticed when other couples joined them. Couples? Trios. Laura Niles danced with her men, her body moving easily. Alexei Markov held Holly Lang as he swayed to the music. And Caleb Burke kind of, sort of, moved behind her.

And she was surrounded by Jesse and Cade. She knew she should feel self-conscious, but it was hard when all she wanted to do was melt into them. Jesse’s hands molded her curves, skimming along her hips. Cade, who said he couldn’t dance, moved with such grace, his lean body picking up the beat and giving her something to follow. His chest pressed against hers, making her nipples peak. It wasn’t a dance so much as a seduction. Jesse and Cade surrounded her, not leaving an inch between them.

While the music played, she didn’t have to think. She didn’t have a past. She didn’t care about the future. All that mattered was the moment, and the moment included two men.

She let her arms tighten around them.

“That’s right.” Jesse’s breath heated her ear. “Touch me.”

Every inch of her body heated up. She felt drunk, but she hadn’t had that much to drink. She wasn’t drunk on alcohol. She was drunk on them, on what they represented.

A new beginning.

Tomorrow was supposed to be her wedding day. She should have been preparing to walk down the aisle, but tonight she felt. Felt.

Every choice she’d made had been logical—from where she’d decided to work, to her groom, to the dress she’d bought.

She let her head drift back, leaning against Jesse while she pulled Cade in. There was nothing logical about this. She wasn’t planning on staying in Bliss. She had nothing in common with the men.

Except she wanted them, and they seemed to want her.

She didn’t have to put a time limit on it. She could get her heart ripped out. She could completely fuck up. The world could end. Anything could happen.

And that was okay.

She suddenly didn’t need to know what would happen the next day or the next. She could live in the moment. She could embrace this weird life. No commitments. No promises. Just life.

Was that what her mother had been trying to teach her?

It didn’t matter. She took a deep breath and gave in. She wrapped her arms around Cade’s big body. He was so tall he made her feel petite. And Jesse was broad and built like a linebacker.

“Are you ready to get out of here?” Cade asked.

She nodded. “Can we go back to my place?”

“We can go anywhere you want.” Jesse’s lips played along her ear.

It was crazy. It was wild. It was everything she needed tonight.

I only have one love now—the home furnishings business I’m building into an empire. Maybe money and success can’t love me back, but they keep what’s left of my heart safe. One-night stands are my way of scratching the occasional itch I get for something more. And no one’s better for that than a sexy as sin hockey player I’ll never see again after one very hot night together.

Luca

I used to love two things: hockey and women. But now my nieces and nephew are my top priority, because I’m raising them after tragedy stole their parents. Somehow I balance single parenthood and my career as a forward for the Chicago Blaze. There’s no time for women, until I get knocked on my ass by Abby Daniels. She’s everything I’ve ever wanted, but her devastating past may end us before we even get started.

Excerpt:

“Hold still, Uncle Luca.”

My niece Emerson gives me her best glare, but she’s five and cute, so it makes me smile.

“I’m trying,” I tell her, checking out the dark purple polish she’s trying to brush onto my nails.

It’s not my inability to hold still that has more nail polish on my skin than my nails; it’s her technique. My “MANicure”, as my two nieces like to call it, started with my ten-year-old niece Cora and was then passed off to Emerson.

“I found yogurt!” Cora says as she breezes into my bathroom. “It’s got strawberries in the bottom, but that’s okay. This face mask will make you smell good, Uncle Luca.”

I try not to roll my eyes. It’ll be better than the last face mask they whipped up in the kitchen, which had butter in it and was a bitch to scrub off in the shower.

“I have to leave for practice in twenty-five minutes,” I remind the girls. “And I still need a shower. So you have ten more minutes to beautify me.”

“Will you paint my nails, too?” Cora asks me.

“Sure.”

I was shit at painting nails when I first became the legal guardian of my two nieces and one nephew a little over a year ago. With practice, though, I’ve gotten pretty damn good at it.

“How long ‘til Gram and Gramps will be here?” Emerson asks, still painting my thumb nail even though she’s looking at me.

“About four hours ‘til their flight lands, then maybe an hour for them to get to the house.”

Her toothless grin of excitement makes me ignore the nail polish I can feel on my knuckle.

“Emerson!” Cora yells. “You ruined it! That looks awful.”

Cora picks up the bottle of purple nail polish and Emerson’s happy expression drops away.

“Give it to me,” Cora huffs, holding out her hand for the handle to the polish. “I never should have let you do it.”

“Hey, now.” I give Cora a sharp look. “She was doing her best.”

Cora’s eyes flood with tears. Emerson edges closer to me, because she knows what happens when Cora gets upset.

“He won’t let us do spa days if you mess it up!” Cora cries, glaring at her younger sister. “You ruined everything!”

“You didn’t ruin anything,” I tell Emerson. “And Cora, I never said we wouldn’t do this again. We can do a big spa day after my road trip, okay?”

Cora wipes her eyes and nods, still crying. It kills me to see her like this. As the oldest, she carries more of the weight from the deaths of her parents than her siblings. We’ve been in counseling for more than a year now, transitioning through the death of their mother, my sister-in-law Danielle, to the kids’ new life with me as their guardian. The clinical terms for what Cora struggles with—anxiety and controlling tendencies—are easier for me to handle than her breakdowns.

The tension leaves the room and Emerson starts my massage, which is pretty much just her karate chopping my shoulders, while Cora slathers strawberry yogurt onto my face.

“Is your shoulder better?” Cora asks me.

“Yep, it’s all good.”

“Think my mashage helped?” Emerson asks from behind me.

She can’t pronounce some words, and I kinda hope that’ll last longer, because it gets me every time.

“It definitely helped,” I tell her.

I tweaked my shoulder at practice yesterday, and Cora noticed me wince when I was taking out the trash last night. She worries about every sinus cold and bruise I get. I can’t blame the kid. Her dad, my brother Matt, died serving in Iraq and her mom passed away from cancer a year later.

“Hey, let’s get your nails painted, Cora,” I say after glancing at my watch. “I’ve only got five minutes til I have to hit the shower.” I turn to Emerson. “Can you go get the nail polish remover, peanut?”

“Okay.” She races from the room, brown curls flying behind her.

BLOG TOUR – Her Submission (The Dirtier Duet #2) by Lisa Renee Jones

The second and final book in the Dirtier Duet by Lisa Renee Jones.

Abbie swore that she was done with rich, powerful men. They’ve hurt her. They’ve hurt her mother, who she will do anything to protect. She’s done playing the submissive. She’s ready to fight back.

The problem is that Gabe Maxwell is one of those rich, powerful men and he refuses to be ignored. He’s in her path and she can’t seem to steer clear of him. He wants her. She wants him. But it’s not that simple. There is more to her story, more than Gabe knows, but then, there is more to Gabe’s story than Abbie knows, too.

BUY LINKS:

“What do you want, Abbie?” Gabe demands, tearing his mouth from mine. “Say it. I need you to be clear. What do you want? But be careful what you ask for. You’ll get it.”

“More,” I say, twisting my hands in his T-shirt. “More of you, Gabe. All of you.”

He slides his hands under my leggings, palming my backside I left bare in the rush to take out Dexter. “More doesn’t get you a nice, funny guy, Abbie.”

“Thank fuck for that. Show me. Stop hiding. Stop trying to be only what you think I want, Gabe. Stop trying to be less than you are because that makes us less than we can be.”

“And if you can’t handle who I am?”

I’m on fire now, poking the bear and I can’t hold back. “And you’re afraid to find out. Is fear all I make you feel?”

His mouth suddenly crashes down on mine once more, his tongue pressing past my teeth, his kiss demanding, angry. He’s pissed. At me. At himself, I think, and that’s what I want to know. That’s the part of him I want to understand, I want to demand he show me.

“Get undressed,” he orders, setting me back from him, crossing his arms in front of that broad perfect chest of his.

My chin lifts in defiance, in refusal to allow him to intimidate me. Maybe he wants me to think he’s a monster like Kenneth. Maybe that should even piss me off but it doesn’t. It challenges me.

I pull my shirt over my head and toss it aside. “See?” I say. “Sometimes I even follow orders.” I unhook my bra, shrugging it away, exposing my naked breasts, the cold air puckering my nipples. “I must be very, very afraid of you.” I toe off my shoes and peel away my leggings, no panties to fret with. I’m not wearing any. Naked now but for socks, I’m not messing with, I close the small space between us and stand in front of him. “Or maybe I was right. You’re the one who’s afraid.”

He catches my hip and drags me to him. “You’re playing with fire.”

“Stop warning me away and pulling me back. Choose, Gabe. All in, remember? Or is that code for only if it’s me?”

His jaw clenches, his gaze lowering, raking over my naked breasts, and I can’t explain it, but I’m more naked right now, in this moment, with this man, than I’ve ever been before.

“All in, Abbie. That’s what you want? That’s what you’ll get.” He backs me up and presses my hands on the bar behind me and at my sides. He shackles my hips, and pulls me forward, forcing me to use them to hold myself up. “Keep your hands there,” he orders. “If you move them, I’ll punish you.”

Heat rushes through me but there is no fear. I don’t fear this man the way I feared Kenneth. I will never fear Gabe. I damn sure don’t fear the thick bulge of his erection pressing against my belly. “Punish me?” I challenge. “How would you punish me, Gabe?”

“You still haven’t been properly spanked, now have Abbie?”

“You spanked me, remember?”

“That was a love pat, remember? A spanking” he adds, most likely for effect, as he’s watching me with hooded eyes. “My hands on your pretty little ass. My cock buried inside you while I make it burn.”

His hand on my ass.

Spanking me.

His eyes lower to my mouth, linger with a promise of a kiss I crave but that doesn’t come, his gaze lifting with his own challenge. “Are you scared now?”

“If that’s the goal, it’s safe to say that you failed. I’m pretty sure what’s going on with me right now, can not be described as fear. Are you scared?”

I expect him to laugh or balk but he doesn’t. He leans in close, his lips at my ear, “From the day I met you, baby. From the day I met you.” He pulls back to look at me, blue eyes lit up and like fires in a forest, they burn a path through me. “And you’re right. I am pushing you. Right here. Right now. Don’t move.”

BLP REVIEW – Tracy

This second book is a good ending to the Dirtier Duet and I liked seeing Abbie & Gabe sort things out and move on with their lives after all that happened in the first instalment of the duet.

As we found out in His Demand both had secrets, but I occasionally wondered if they were as ground shaking as both feared them to be….. it turned out that Gabe’s was kinda shocking but that Abbie reacted as she did to what he had to share (when he eventually did) was great.
Even though she feared her own past would hurt that man she was coming to love, she too shared her secrets – the only thing that got to me about her was her continued thoughts that she should leave Gabe as she feared her past would bring him down – at times, it was as if she didn’t realize they were stronger together.

The intensity and tension behind the crime that both were in the frame for made for really good reading and I loved that the characters from previous books came together to help the couple and worked to discover who the culprit was and help Abbie & Gabe clear their names.

As you would expect from Ms Jones, there was tension, angst, suspense, umpteen twists & turns, heat and passion (the chemistry between the pair was HOT!!).

Another hit from one of my favourite authors. I’m giving Her Submission 4.75*

Eight years ago, tragedy broke us. Now we’re back in the same little town where we once dreamed of building our future.

Excerpt:

“Can we talk?” Mason whispers. “Last time Mom said if I talk too much I would scare away the fish, but I get bored if I can’t talk.”

“What do you want to talk about?”

“Stuff.” He shrugs, his chubby hand reeling his line in. He tosses out another cast. It’s perfect for a little guy and when his lure hits the water he tilts his head and looks at me. “Are you Anna’s daddy?”

Crap. I knew this was coming. I take a deep breath and look for Allie because this isn’t the type of conversation I want to have without her. She’s now on the other side of the pond and when she sees me look at her, she waves.

My God, she’s beautiful.

I wave back.

“Are you?” Mason asks again, this time nudging me in the leg.

Looks like I’m on my own for this one. Honesty is always the best policy, right? Even with kids?

“Yeah, I was her daddy.”

He nods and looks at the water while I look at him. Say something, kid. Anything. When he doesn’t, I nudge him back.

“Do you want to talk about it? Do you have questions?”

Mason shrugs. “Maybe.”

“Okay,” I say laughing. “Well, you think about what you want to ask, and I’ll just sit here and wait.”

A few seconds pass before he looks at me. “Why are you Anna’s daddy, but not mine?”

“Well, because you have a different dad.”

“Richard,” he sighs. At that exact moment his line goes taut. “I got something!”

I set my pole down, wrap my arms around him, resting my hands over his, the way a father would with his son. Except Mason isn’t mine and I need to remember that. “Give it a little tug,” I say, flicking our wrists. The fish splashes out of the water and yanks the pole. “Nice and easy. Just like that. You’re doing great.”

I let him go but stay crouched behind him in case he needs help reeling the fish in, but he doesn’t. Allie hoots and hollers, her pole bobbing on her shoulder as she runs toward us. She makes it to our side just as Mason pulls out the tiniest bass I’ve ever seen and pride surges through me. Luckily the hook comes out with ease.

“You did great, buddy. Hold the fish up just like this”—I show him how to hold the fish and he reaches for it like a champ—“and I’ll take a picture of you and your mom.”

Mason holds up the fish, a proud smile on his handsome face and his mama’s arm around his shoulder. They smile for the camera and then Mason turns to Allie.

“Will you take one of me and Jam?”

Allie pulls out her phone while I kneel down. Mason situates himself between my knees and half sits on my leg with the fish dangling from his fingers.

“Say fish sticks!”

Mason and I laugh and repeat Allie. “Fish sticks!”

“Okay, little dude. Let’s toss him back before he dies.”

“We can’t keep him?” he says, walking toward the water.

“Why would you want to keep him?”

“To eat him. Duh.”

Abel’s lips turn up but he doesn’t take his eyes off the road. “Like what you see, Blondie?”
My cheeks redden at being caught, but I stick my chin haughtily into the air unwilling to cower at being called out. “Maybe there’s a bug on your face.”
That smile of his widens. “There’s not.”
“So confident,” I mutter, crossing my arms over my chest and staring out the windshield.
“Why wouldn’t I be? You kissed me.”
“I kissed you back, big difference.” I kick my flip-flops off and rest my bare feet on the
dashboard.
“Kissing back is still kissing.”
“Ugh,” I toss my hands up, “you’re impossible.”
“Impossibly handsome? Charming? Irresistible? All three? Definitely all three.” He answers his own question.

But Lord Bruce is a brute of a man. A battle-hardened soldier and fierce, dominant Highland lord. Well, that and completely beautiful, which is so very, very unfair.
When he tells me I’m to be his wife, I flee. But there’s no running from the most dominant, gorgeous, sinfully tempting man I’ve ever met.
Not after I’ve had a teasing taste of those perfect lips. Not when I’ve felt those rough hands on me. Not when deep down, I want him to chase me.
…Not when deep down, I want him to take all of me.
The first kiss was a mistake. The second was stolen. But the ones after that, I’ve run out of
excuses for.
I’ve scared nine would-be-suitors away. But something tells me, number ten isn’t going anywhere.

Passionate about plaid? Step into something wild, filthy, and tropey as all get-out. Hot, alpha
af, and WILDLY historically inaccurate. Warning: not responsible for lost or ripped bodices. Reader beware.
As with all my books, this one is safe, with no cheating, and a HEA guaranteed.

Blurb:

Being labelled a player never stopped me from being successful with women. Until I met Truly Harbury.

Truly was the first girl who ever turned me down.

The first female friend I ever had.

And she might just be the first woman I ever fall in love with.

When an emergency means she needs my help running her family’s charity, I’m happy to introduce her to the glitz and glamour of the London business world—taking her to dinners, coaching her through speeches, zipping up the sexy evening gown I helped her pick out.

The more time we spend together, the more I want to convince her I’m not a man to avoid, that we’re not as unsuited as she believes.

She sees herself as the book-reading, science-loving introvert while I’m the dangerous, outgoing, charmer.

She thinks I love parties and people whereas she prefers pajamas and a takeaway.

What she doesn’t realize is that I like everything about her–the way her smile lights up a room, how her curves light up my imagination, and especially the way her lips taste when coated with tequila.

She’s the first woman I ever fell in love with. I just need to know if she could ever love me too.

 Excerpt:

I held out his glass, and he took it with one hand, loosening his tie with the other. I pulled my eyes away from his long fingers and the way he always seemed so confident everywhere he went.

“How was your day?” he asked as he sat on the other end of the sofa, one long arm stretched across the back of the cushions, almost touching me like he’d done the night we’d kissed at the tequila bar.

“Good,” I said, nodding furiously.

He chuckled. “What’s going on, Truly? Do you have bad news you need me to help you deliver to Abigail? An issue with the foundation?”

“Not exactly,” I replied, tipping back some more wine. “Not at all, in fact.” I had to tell him what I was thinking, but it seemed so stupid now that he was here, all perfect and gorgeous. Why on earth would he want me?

“I just thought we could have some wine and talk. You know.”

His smile faltered. “Okay.” He took a sip of wine. “You said you had a proposition.”

“Yeah, but I’m not drunk enough yet,” I replied. I wasn’t sure I would ever be drunk enough. “And neither are you.”

“I have to be drunk to hear whatever you have to say?” He glanced around my book-lined room. “Are you going to tell me you’re MI6 and that you want to recruit me? Because I’m in. I always thought I’d enjoy a life as a spy. It just doesn’t pay enough. But I could do it part-time.”

I fixed him with a glare. “I’m not trying to recruit you into MI6, Noah.” I rolled my eyes. Men. Why did they always think they were a step away from being the next James freaking Bond?

He grinned. “Yeah, I didn’t think so. You’d make a terrible spy.”

I leaned back into the sofa. “There’s no way I could do that job.”

“For one thing, they look for people who don’t stand out—you’re way too beautiful for people not to notice you.” He twisted my hair in his fingers, and I closed my eyes, forgetting for a few seconds how that wasn’t normal behavior between us.

My eyes flew open. “That’s a perfect example.” I shifted to look at him properly. “Things like that. The fingers. The telling me I’m beautiful. I need you out of my system. And Jesus God and a banana, I need some sex.”

He chuckled and grabbed the bottle, topping himself up. “I’m cutting you off until you tell me what this is all about,” he said.

“I just told you. I need to get laid, and you, with all your tequila kisses and unzipping dresses and that thing you do with my neck—you’re the man for the job.”

“The job?” he asked, his eyebrows retreating into his hairline. “The job of getting you laid?”

Book Blurb:

The second stand-alone romantic suspense in the Triggerman Inc. series featuring sexy assassins, a baby, and a devious bad guy from New York Times bestseller Marie Harte.

An assassin with a baby? Inconceivable…

Deacon’s life could be better. Deacon–the Shadow–kills people for a living. He’s a choosy assassin, and he makes no bones about his life choices. But a baby… That’s something he knows he’d never conceive of–pun intended.

While he’s looking into this baby situation, snarky ex-supermodel Solene Hansen is in trouble. Deacon’s sticking to her 24/7. Before long, he’s learning that there’s a lot more to Solene than sharp words and a gorgeous face. But his enemies are close, and they’ve taken note of his interest..

It’ll take all his talent to keep Solene safe, learn who wants him dead and what the baby has to do with any of it, and figure out how to get Solene to realize that while he might not be a safe bet, he’ll be a sure one.

Excerpt

Deacon stood outside her door, and she saw she’d automatically locked the doors after he’d left the car. Great, now I’m obeying his orders without realizing it. She got out of the car, leaving it to him to grab the keys.

Hurrying into the house, she let the familiar comfort fill her, pausing in the hallway to breathe in the scent of lavender, vanilla, and home.

“Smells girlie in here.” Deacon had followed and closed the door behind him, then set the security once more. “Did you spray the house with perfume before we left this morning?”

“I set out new candles.” Solene was a sucker for candlelight and flowers. Clichéd romantic decor, but hey, it was her house. A glance at the fading bouquet on her entry table told her she needed to pick up a new one.

“Not complaining,” Deacon said from right behind her. She hadn’t heard him move. “I like the way it smells. Fresh.” He had his face in the crook of her neck, and she froze. “Smells like you,” he said in a low voice.

She darted away, using the excuse to slip off her shoes and hang up her jacket to get some distance. She tried to calm her racing heart, needing anything but Deacon as a distraction. For some reason, she kept remembering that barely-there kiss from the restaurant.

She meant to tear into him for that, just as soon as she could think about it without turning pink.

“Solene?”

“Hang up your jacket and take off your shoes,” she snapped. “This isn’t a hotel, you know. I’m not the maid.”

A glance at him showed his amusement. Figured. Nothing irritated the man. Even her constant rejection only seemed to challenge him, not throw him off.

“Now, now. I’m perfectly capable of following the rules.” He tucked away his coat and shoes then joined her in the living room. “I gotta say, the more time I spend here, the more I can see what appeals to you. This place is amazing.”

“It should be. I paid a fortune for it.” Crass but true. “Bainbridge Island ain’t cheap.”

“But worth it. Those views of the ocean are killer.”

They stared out her back bay windows across her deck at the ocean beyond. The sun had set, but a full moon reflected off the choppy waves and turned the night sky into a starry lit evening. Her house on the water had come with a hefty price. She had way more space than she needed, an open floor plan, three huge bedrooms, an office, three baths, and a ginormous living/dining space that was overlooked by a grand kitchen.

Having worked her tail off modeling since the age of eleven, she’d more than earned her respite. Yet the past year or so, she’d been feeling lost in her home, almost…lonely.

Deacon standing so close made her feel safe and comfortable. As much as she complained about him taking up her space, she liked him being nearby. And that scared her almost as much as being so attracted to him did.

“So, are you really full?” she asked. “Or were you just saying that to get away from the lovebirds?”

He grimaced. “You know, I’m glad Noel found love and all, but those two are almost nauseating with all the smoochy crap.”

Solene laughed, relieved not to be the only one feeling that. “I thought it was just me being overwhelmed by the gooey eyes.”

“Nah. I was ready to be sick too.” Deacon stared at her, his gaze intense. He didn’t blink.

“What?”

“Shouldn’t you be sighing and wishing for that kind of lovesickness? Why are you so down on romance, anyway?” He followed her into the kitchen, where she put on water for tea. “You’re hot, loaded, smart. But not married or divorced.”

“Maybe I’ve got four ex-husbands and six kids stashed around here.”

“Nah, I checked.”

She frowned.

“I mean, Noel checked. You know he studied everyone even remotely connected with him—or his neighbor—when he first moved here.” He paused, fixed on her every move. “Although I would have investigated even if Noel hadn’t already.”

“Why?” At his sly grin, she changed the topic. “Never mind. Now tell me what you need help on, since I’m apparently forbidden from working anymore.”

“Come on, Solene. It’s not as if you love the daycare.”

She stared. “Huh? Of course I do. It’s my job.”

“But do you like it?”

“I revamped the place and made it a success in no time. It’s in the black already. And it was barely breaking even before I got into it.”

He just watched her.

“What?”

“You have yet to say you like what you do. Very telling.” He gave her that patronizing look that both annoyed her and made her want to laugh—well, laugh when he did it to someone else.

“Do you like what you do?” she asked.

“No.”

She blinked. “You don’t?”

“Solene, I kill people for a living. I don’t like that.”

“Oh. Well then, why do you do it?”

He shrugged and leaned over the wide kitchen island, watching her putter around the kitchen. “Somebody’s got to keep the scales tipped right-side up, and I’m good at it.”

“How did you get into the ‘Business’ anyway?”

“I’ll tell you if you tell me why you hate your job.”

“I don’t—”

“And why you hate men. Don’t lie; I can tell when you do.”

“No, you can’t.”

“Try it and see. There will be…consequences.” His voice turned smoky there at the end, and the butterflies in her belly swarmed at once, giving her tingles all over.

“Come on, Solene. An answer for an answer. I’ll tell you anything you want to know. For a price.”

She was dying to know all about him. But could she afford what she’d likely have to pay?

BLP REVIEW – Tracy

I’m loving this series from Marie Harte …. as if that would be any surprise.

Book two in the Triggerman, Inc. series, Secrets Unsealed was another action packed, smokin’ hot read from one of my ‘go to’ authors that left me with more questions than I started with and a definite thirst for the next and final book, Satisfaction Delivered…. I’ve already pre-ordered my kindle copy as I so want to know ‘Hammers’ secrets!

Deacon and Solene were good together. What started out as a sort of ‘babysitting’ gig turned into so much more but Solene was so blood-minded that at times I wondered if Deacon would be able to get through to her or not.

Though we didn’t know who the bad guy was going into the story , it didn’t take long ‘til our leading characters had figured it out and it was finally confirmed… but was he the main man or was he just another soldier?

We caught up with Noel and Addy, found out how ‘Little D’ was getting on and got a couple of glimpses/clues to Hamer – the man known as the ‘Destroyer’

A definite 5* read for me and I can see this being a re-read in the future!
