I adored this read. Boone was perfect for Alexis.
I really liked Booneโs view on having his son so young. It wasnโt easy but they grew together and just have a fantastic relationship. All Abel wants is for his dad to be happy, even if that means bringing someone new into the โfamilyโ that they have. I love found family / family of choice in a book and Boone and his boy had a great group around them.
Iโm not always a fan of age differences but it didnโt feel like an issue with Alexia and Boone. Alexis knew what she wanted – and what she didnโt – and I was all for how willing Boone was to fully support her in the things she did.
Alexis was the first person that Boone could see more than one night with and his acknowledgement of that was quick as was his determination to make sure that Alexis was aware he was all in.
A great read about love, adapting your expectations and grabbing your future with both hands when you see it.
No third act break up was the extra cherry on top for me.
Excellent first book in this new small town series. I cannot wait to read Abelโs story!!
