I ADORED Boots & Dimple Dude!!!!!!

Stayed up through the night to finish – I was at 79% and could not put my kindle down…
This read is possibly my fave book to date from Ms Foster!!

Nicole and Declan have my heart. This was a journey of growth, understanding and self love.
Nicole hasn’t had the easiest of time and she needs to think about herself for once.
Declan has everyone else on his radar, but his own life, that seems to be buried under regrets and worries about so many other things.
Our couple both learned a lot about what they needed and wanted and I loved that they finally stood up for themselves.

I loved the friends Nicole made over her summer and I’m hoping that there might be another story or two around some of the supporting characters.

Declan’s family were great, as was Nicole’s mum and her best friends but the gods, her daughter drove me to distraction!!

This book had heart, love, fabulous banter, laughs, connection, a great sense of family and belonging and SO much heat….

D’you think I might find a hot fish peddler on the East Coast of Scotland?! 🤔😉😙

A definite for my re-read list. 5 Hot Mess stars!!!

I really enjoyed Watch and Learn….. more than I expected if I’m honest though I should have know it would be fab given how much I enjoy Lacey Black’s own books!!

I read this practically in one sitting – only put my kindle down as dinner needed to be made – Nate & Oaklyn’s story had me fully invested and captivated.

This pair were meant to be. He needed someone to see him for himself and she needed someone who understood her crazy work life. Fate definitely pulled these two together initially but it certainly wasn’t finished with them even after things went so wrong.

I have to say I honestly could have smacked Nate upside the head more than once – I completely understood his initial thinking and his emotions and reasoning behind it but his continued path of being a bloody eejit….. 🙄🤯🤬 – I was so glad when he finally got his head on straight!

The slight lack of communication – on both sides – wound me up a tad BUT the story wouldn’t have been the same without it. There was one wee point about their earlier ‘relationship’ that Oaklyn got a bit peeved about where I was shouting in my head “hold on a minute missy… YOU agreed to that as much as Nate did, you stated your reason very clearly!!” but again, once she saw what Nate was trying to show her, I could let that go.

Great chemistry, an interesting initial meeting, two broken heart, low angst but a hopeful chance at a HEA…. All in all a really great story from 2 fab authors.
I’m gonna go check out their other work together.

This is definitely a story I’d pick up again. Solid 4* recommended read.

Sabrina Sullivan & Grey Cartwright are my new fave couple in this series!!!!

Following on from the wedding disaster in book one, Sabrina is out and about in Hawaii before she heads home when she meets a guy at a bar. They have a connection and a great night but she’s still on a bit of a downer and leaves him without exchanging details.

Back home, she knows that she’s gonna end up with a new boss at what used to be the family cafe …. she’s just not expecting who her new boss is!!!!
Their initial interaction back in Snaggletooth Creek wasn’t grand, to say the least!!

To really get this story in this book fully I think you have to start with The Worst Wedding Date… it explains quite a bit of what goes on in The Gossip & The Grump!

Sabrina was the local gossip but following the wedding she’s stopped or is trying not to listen or talk about anything or anyone, but when she talks to Grey, especially about things in town, she does it in code and seeing him work out who’s who was funny!
Her gossiping is never nasty and in all honesty she’s kinda hard on herself for a while when it’s not entirely warrented.

Grey, yeah, in Snaggletooth Creek and at work he comes across as a real grump but he’s been hurt and used and he’s not in the mind to trust many folk, so finding out the girl from Hawaii is now an employee doesn’t incline him to trust her either…. He’s actually a good guy, cares about those important to him and I liked him more than I expected I would.

I loved the connection these two had. There was fun, banter, heat and steam and when you add in great side characters… especially Zen (who made me laugh so often!) & Jitter (crazy lovable fur baby) …. the story was fab.

I was a tad annoyed at Emma tbh, especially when she finally spoke with the girls but I’m definitely looking forward to her book and finding out who her person is gonna be!

This series just keeps getting better!!!

I’ve loved the books that Lacey Black has given us until now, and tbh, I didn’t think any of the main characters could be more of a favorite than the original Brew Crue, but Lacey keeps on surprising me and giving me new faves with each read.

We knew from a previous read that Kinsley was Kellan’s little sister, Kellan being Tucker’s best friend.
Tucker and Kinsley were a couple when they were younger but Kins left to chase her music career and Tucker stayed in Stewart’s Grove.
Kinsley has been doing great and was happy in her career until an embarrassing incident in her private life had her heading home to SG to hide out and reassess.

First time seeing each other once Kins was back home, even though it was a quick interaction, let them both see that they still had feelings.
I loved how they both had things to think about, talked a lot, were logical and started out again as friends. Their relationship grew organically throughout the story and I was rooting for them all the way.

The best thing for me was Kinsley’s reaction to and relationship with Grayson, Tucker’s son. She was awesome with him and the little guy adored her in return. Scenes with the three of them were some of my favorites to read.

There was a ton of heat, connection, sense of belonging and rightness in this read. As ever we caught up with the guys from the bar and their significant others, which is always fun! I was hooked from beginning to end.

I do hope that Lacey heads back to Stewart Grove and the Crew at some point in the future but until then I’m looking forward to what she’s got coming next!!

I LOVED this story.

I’ve started the Manhunt series and got to book 3 (I’ll finish the brothers’ books soon!!) but I really wanted to read Daniel and Melly’s book so I skipped ahead. I’m so glad I did!

Their initial interactions were amusing. Daniel’s reaction when he realised how wrong he’d been… that was great!

I really liked Daniel. I got where he was coming from and why he had set in motion his plans…. Poor soul just didn’t see the shy quiet librarian coming!!

Melly!! Ho, boy!! …. I FLOVED Melly. She might have been innocent in one way but that gal KNEW what she wanted and went for it wholeheartedly. I was entertained by how much she threw Daniel off with what he expected her to be or say and what actually came out of her mouth!

Set over a really short time period, this didn’t detract from their story at all and the whole story and characters were fleshed out, made for excellent reading and it all finished really well… as you’d expect from Vanessa Vale!!!!

Hoping there’s more in this series to come!

This was a fun, short read from Kat Baxter. She’s definitely one of my go to authors when I need a pickmeup!!

Cain was a grump who lost the love of his life through miscommunication and pride. He got so much wrong and I was kinda peeved at him for a bit regarding him feeling like he couldn’t trust Jade without even talking to her about the issue!

Jade was a sweetheart who loved those people important to her and showed them in the best way she felt she could. She was willing to jump in and help out Cain and Sasha, his little sister, without knowing what she was setting herself up for.

The reason behind their falling out was sad – I know personally how much of an impact what they were facing can have on your life….. I was glad Cain finally found out the truth about everything and got his act together – though maybe Jade should have made him work harder…… and maybe she would have had his Cain’s little sister’s welfare not been in the line!!

Definitely a book and series I’d recommend.

BLP REVIEW – Tracy

I thoroughly enjoyed Noah & Fisher’s book.

I liked that their initial interactions were away from home Abd that neither knew who the other was….. until they did!!

Noah had dated Fisher’s son, not that he’d have known as Fisher has been gone for various reasons for a number of years. The realization that he’s the new farrier at her family’s ranch had Noah in a tailspin but that heat and connection was still there, even when they both said that nothing could happen.

I liked Fisher. He’d made mistakes, messed up a few times but was back and trying and even though I didn’t like it, he was thinking of what he considered his priorities instead of his own wants!

I enjoyed finding out about them both as they both discovered more about each other.

The suspense and mystery around the ranch made for interesting reading and while I thought I knew who was to blame I was surprised when the truth came out.

There was so much heat and love in this book and I was engaged in this pair from the start.

I’m looking forward to more in this series from Brooke!!

Noah’s POV:

Fuck, where is my bra?

After Fisher took off my dress, I flung my bra somewhere. I’m not about to leave without it since it’s the only one I packed. I don’t need my piercings blinding my family.

As I lower to my hands and knees, crawling around with my ass straight up, I find it underneath his jeans.

Thank God.

Next, I dig in my bag for my panties.

It’s one thing to make the walk of shame at seven in the morning, but it’s shameful to do it commando.

And I am a classy Southern lady, after all.

With the exception of last night.

Once I’m dressed and slide on my boots, I grab the rest of my things. Fisher hasn’t stirred once since I climbed over his naked body and slid out of his bed. I’m half tempted to check his neck for a pulse.

That’d be my luck.

Best sex of my life leads to him dying afterward.

I know he’s older, but he’s not that old.

When I see his wallet on the counter, I contemplate taking a peek at his license to see his birth year. Amid our grinding against each other make-out session, I asked if he had a condom, and he told me to grab one from his wallet, which was in the back pocket of his jeans. Once I grabbed it, I tossed the leather aside.

Glancing once more at Fisher to make sure he’s still in a sleep coma, I open his wallet and look at his ID.

He’s forty-four.

Exactly twice my age.

Okay, so it’s not that bad.

He doesn’t even look forty.

It could be worse. He could be fifty.

But then I blink, reread his full name, and it does. It gets so much worse.

Fisher Underwood.

It can’t be. My throat tightens as I choke down the surprise I never expected.

I need to get the hell out of here before he wakes up.

God, I hope this is a hangover dream.

More like a nightmare.

All the air gets sucked out of my lungs at the realization.

BLP REVIEW – Tracy

I do love a new Freya Barker read….. and I’ve been looking forward to Pearl since we met her in the first book in the series.

Pearl’s first meet with Lee was entertaining (maybe not for him but definitely for us!!) and showed that the lady could take care of herself.

We knew very little about Janey/Pearl, mainly that she met the other girls when they were young and had been taken on by Jacob along with the others to form the team but finding out her own story was interesting.

I have to admit, I wasn’t sure I was gonna like Lee. I didn’t entirely take to him in Opal and did wonder about his motives…. even when we had previously found out a little about his family history. Truth be told, he took a little time to grow on me, but he did it! By the end of the book I was rooting for him and Pearl to ge together.

I liked that the story continued on from the end of book one and that we discovered more about who was involved in the nefarious goings on. The team is growing, they have some leads on names of the bad guys. I cannot wait for the completion of the story arc and to find out the full story of their start AND who Jacob is, what was his drive for bringing the trio together and what are his ultimate motives?… Finally, who is gonna be Onyx’s person?!?!?!

Another great read from Ms Freya!!!! 4.5*

BLP REVIEW – Tracy

I thoroughly enjoyed this latest book in the Kilted Hearts series!

We’d met Ewan previously in earlier books and while reading Protector in a Kilt it felt as if he was just going through the motions, existing but not really living ….. until he met Isobel.

Isobel, she was genuinely lovely. Having lost her family and, to all extents, having been held captive allowed only to focus on her craft, it was truly great seeing her slip into a new life in the village. Being treated like on of the locals and blossoming in her newfound freedom.

This pair were exactly what they each needed but hadn’t realised they were missing. Saying that, is there something in the water in Glenlaig that makes all the blokes a bit dense at times?? Communication in a relationship, especially a new one, is vital, something these lads should be passing on to their mates as soon as they discover this nugget of information themselves!!!

The intrigue in the story made for good reading and while I understood why Isobel didn’t try to find out what was happening around her, I did think that natural human instinct to know what to expect would have been stronger – but having the chance to be ‘normal’ was possibly a bigger draw for her and I get that!!!

As ever with this series we catch up with family (both blood and found) who do their bit, helping out and protecting their own where they can. I think one of my favourite things about Kait’s books is that sense of family, community and belonging that she writes so well.

That epilogue. I can’t wait to see how things go for Ewan & Isobel going forward. There were a few wee comments made during the read and some new faces introduced and I’m hoping (with everything crossed) that we’re gonna either get a few more books in the series or a wee spin off to find out more about Ewan’s buddies.

This instalment ended on an interesting note that sets us up for Single Dad in a Kilt….. I cannot wait for Afton & Hamish’s story….. I’ve got so many questions that I need answered!!!!
