I have to say that ‘All I Want’ was a very pleasant surprise and is a much more consistent rounded out offering than the previous in this series. The cover suits the book on this occasion and the promise the author showed progresses and develops, don’t be mistaken I enjoyed ‘Where I Belong’ but it’s inconsistencies in character development and stretching of the plausible did rate it down for me.
‘All I Want’ is Tessa and Luke’s story. We pick up 12 months after their split. Tessa is unhappy and also “desperate for some dick” so resorting to internet dating.
I’ve been registered on Ignite for nine days, and every guy so far that has contacted me has either been too old, too weird, or given off a rapey vibe from his screen name alone. One guy landed on ClitMaster69 when he went through the tedious task of settling on a name. And then there was FingerBanger and ItsSmallButWorks. Seriously? I applaud you for your honesty, dude, but I believe my ideal mate is supposed to be able to fuck like a champion, and there is always a size requirement when it comes to my pussy. You must be this long to board this ride.

Overall I enjoyed it, Luke is a bit of a dick (most men!) and juvenile to the point you dislike him sometimes but if you don’t throw your kindle and continue then it’s a sweet read with a little angst thrown in. Ben, Mia and Nolan of course make appearances, Nolan stealing the show as usual! It will be interesting to see where the author takes us with Reed’s story and if Luke and Tessa have killed each other with sex or weapons by that point!

Biker/MC books have seen an explosion in popularity over recent years with an insatiable market devouring everything in its path be it the Good, the Bad, the Ugly, the mediocre or the downright ridiculous. With more quantity than quality, even though I love MC books, far too rarely do I find the exceptional, special or even just bloody good in this hugely overpopulated market. I’m a fickle, fussy bitch and don’t deny it but I need a storyline, character development, emotion, and I want it all real, gritty and hot, not juvenile and repetitive with no depth, range or world building. My go to authors are Madeline Sheehan, Joanna Wylde and Nicole Jacquelyn, for a softer style I adored Kristen Ashley’s ‘Motorcycle Man’ and have enjoyed many of Jamie Begley’s. My point? Well, a review is just an opinion, nothing more nothing less and we all have different opinions especially with MC books, so if you like my type of choices that I have enjoyed then I highly recommend that you give River Savage a try – in my opinion this is a quality one. I read ‘Incandescent’ a few days ago, what a promising debut that I should have given a chance earlier, then I read an ‘Affliction’ ARC and the growth in her writing, the emotion delivered means I will be stalking River Savage for the next instalment because she is going to be one to watch…..
Affliction

‘Affliction’ is a totally different read from ‘Incandescent’ and the growth River Savage shows as a writer is impressive. It’s an emotional read that is insightful, heart breaking, uplifting and beautiful all in one package.
There is no way to express the beauty of this book without giving away huge spoilers and I refuse to do that, nothing is worse than getting the entire story from a review before you even decide whether to purchase or not. Suffice to say that River has seamlessly interwoven what broke Sylas to become what enables him to put Holly back together while making us cry ugly tears, smile, laugh, get a little turned on then curse the kindle and want to read it all over again.

From the first time Holly called him Sunshine you knew these two were going to have a story, she didn’t know then what his darkness came from, what those three little words were that so changed the path of his life and had no idea that an all-consuming darkness was headed for her, the wit and sass between them is a pleasure to read but the beauty comes with the pain in the book as this story of loss, grief, hope, love and second chances draws you in, grabs your heart and does not let go.
`Affliction` is Sylas and Holly’s story but features all the characters we met previously in ‘Incandescent’, catching up with Nix and Kadence was a joy and I want Jesse the man whore to get his comeuppance!! I thought Nix was the panty dropping king but Sy more than gives him a run for his money as the chemistry between him and Holly is hot as fuck and the sass she throws gets him every time!
So if River Savage can write a book of this calibre, with angst, heartache, loss, hope, love, sunshine and darkness on only her second outing then I actually worry how much she will tear us up, spit us out and then put us back together as she learns more of her craft. Not sure my heart can take it…..
