BLP REVIEW – Tracy

For the most part I enjoyed this read. It was a really quick read that I got through in less than an evening.

Lawson was a sweetheart – hardworking, considerate and, lets face it, hot as the Arizona sun, he was a man who wanted to fix things for people and protect those he cared about.

Alana was in self-preservation mode literally running for her life – following some less than perfect for her life choices – when she first encountered a sexy cowboy at an Arizona gas station, but even though he was a stranger, Lawson made her feel safe for the first time in who knows how long.

This pair sparked. Their attraction was pretty much instant and I like that the fact Alana was expecting didn’t put our leading man off. I enjoyed meeting Lawson’s brothers and am looking forward to their own books.

My biggest issue with the story was the speed of everything. The main events all took place in less than two weeks and while it made for entertaining reading, some back story for the leading characters or some more build up of their relationship would have made this a more substantial read.

All of that said, I will be checking out the rest of the Arizona Heat series from Katie Douglas

I can’t deny this woman a damn thing.

So I climb onto the bed. The mattress dipping beneath my weight as I crawl to Gracie on my hands and knees.

She is still facing away from me. So I duck down and press my lips to the spot where her neck slopes into her shoulder.

Her skin, warm and soft, pebbles into goose bumps as I kiss her there, nicking the sinew with my teeth.

She sucks in a breath, reaching back to dig her fingers into my hair.

“Luke,” she breathes.

“I love it when you say my name,” I murmur against her skin as I slowly work my way up her neck.

Gracie arches against me, fingernails curling against my scalp.

“Luke,” she says again.

“Yeah?”

“Why do you”—her voice catches when, leaning all my weight on my good arm, I reach around and cup Gracie’s breast—“you talk dirty, but you go slow. Why?”

“Because.” Through the fabric of her shirt, I gather her nipple between my thumb and forefinger and draw it out. “I ain’t rushin’ with you. I been waiting ten Goddamn years to touch you, and I plan to savor every minute. But I am as God made me, baby, and He in all His wisdom gave me a real dirty mouth.”

She moans when I play with her hardened nipple, giving her tit a solid squeeze.

“Never thought I’d like dirty talk,” she says. “But with you—Luke, I love it.”

I grin as I feather my lips over her jaw.

“I noticed.” I nudge her with my nose, and our eyes meet. “Dirty talk aside. I’mma do this nice and proper like, Grace. Meaning I’m gonna take my time and learn your body and draw you out just how you want. Nothing leaves this room. Same as nothing gets left on the table. I’ll give you everything I got, and you better damn well do the same. You want that intensity we talked about? You gotta give me your all, baby girl. You gotta show me everything.”

Her forehead is creased as she searches my eyes for a beat. Then another.

My heart is thudding inside my chest.

“I’ll try,” she says at last. She takes me by surprise when she turns her head a little more and kisses me. A quick kiss, but a hot one. An honest one. “Thank you. For getting it. For doing this with me. It means a lot, and I appreciate it more than you know.”

I look at her. Cock blaring.

“Thank me when I’m done.”

And then I’m getting on my knees and reaching for the hem of her shirt.

VISIT TO THE IOTA FRAT MANSION

K-Pop opens the door, candy eyes as bright as ever and flawless features drawn up in a
mischievous smile. He’s wearing rabbit ears, but I know better than to ask.
They’re of the kind that are stuck to a hood so that his whole head is covered in fake grey fur. The ears are long and soft-looking with pink centers. I want to pet him.

“My, my, my,” he mimics every Dude ever opening the door for a Blossom. “What have we here? Picasso come here and see what we have here. It’s the Blossom who wants to suck you off!”

“How about you shut your face?” I ask sweetly. The last time I was here, I magically
avoided the Pirate Punch. The Dude Den’s most infamous concoction consists of every type of alcohol available. That and jam. Any jam. Unfortunately, even though I avoided it, I was still lit by the time I ended up in his room.

“Saki is here to lick your prick!” K-Pop hollers.

“Oh my God, you’re so stupid,” I say. “Where is he?”

One thing never fails in 247: every Dude that’s not the one you ask for will appear in
the doorway. Guns is wearing a Viking helmet. Lucian pokes his head out behind him with wet hair and a comb sticking straight up from it. “Hey, Blossom. What’s up?”

“She’s here to—”

“Long Dick, if you don’t shut your trap, I’ll pour all this paint down your throat.” I hold
up the goddamn ochre. “You know what? I’m too busy for this. I’m going to just leave the paint here and get going.”

“That wasn’t the deal, I believe.”

I scrunch my eyes shut and open them slowly at the melodious, too intimate voice. Finding a pair of stunning grey eyes above me, I straighten and give Picasso the stare-down he deserves.

“I’m not as anal as you, so sorry for forgetting the exact manner in which I am to return the ochre. Let’s see.” I pucker my mouth like I’m thinking. I’m not gonna lie
and say I don’t enjoy it when his gaze sinks to watch my lips. “Nope, I’ve got nothing. Unless you wanted me to pour it right on your precious painting myself?”

He lets out a small snort and hooks his finger for me to follow him. I’m not too chicken to obey. And up the stairs of the Dude mansion we go… sober.
