Goodreads:

Introducing book 1 in the Logan & Kayla saga of the Checkmate series from a secret duo of romance authors who teamed up under the USA Today Bestselling pseudonym, Kennedy Fox! This second-chance romance will have you gasping and cheering this two on from the first to the last page! Are you ready to play the final game?

***
Logan Knight is a real life knight in shining armor.
A detective godsend in a sleek black suit has me thinking less than secretive thoughts. Brooding and mysterious, he’s the kind of guy every girl instantly notices. Between his seductive smirk and charming good looks, it’s no wonder I can’t help the way he makes me feel whenever I’m near him.
Too bad he’s unavailable—or so he says.

He thinks I’m a do-gooder who shouldn’t get involved with a guy like him. His past is messy and relationships just add to that. He insists the timing is all wrong and he’s devoted to his career, but I don’t buy that excuse for a second. I see the way his body tenses and his jaw ticks every time another guy is around me. He just won’t admit it, but I’m more determined than ever to show him what he’s missing.

I’m a devoted animal rescuer and I’ll risk everything to save them, but when a dramatic turn of events puts both our lives at risk, I’m positive Logan will write me off for good. But when he asks for my help with a personal crisis, I know it’s my last chance to finally show him I can handle anything he throws my way—messy past and all.

He might think he has me all figured out, but I’ll prove him wrong no matter what he thinks. This game of push and pull has me running in circles. One wrong move and we could both lose.

Checkmate, Knight.

*Recommend for ages 18+ due to sexual content and adult language.*
**This is book 1 in the Logan & Kayla Saga–a second-chance romance. You don’t need to read any of the other Checkmate series to enjoy this one, but is always recommended as they are both introduced in the earlier books.**

Every part of my body is on fire, fueled by the electricity between Logan and me as his lips glide across the softness of mine. The low hum in my stomach aches when he pulls us apart, and I fight the urge to press my lips back to his.

His lips are red and swollen, probably just like mine are right now. I don’t know what got into him, but Logan and I have never, ever kissed before. Hell, we’ve slow danced before at weddings, but nothing this intimate—ever.

“I think that did the trick,” he finally says, catching his breath. Fred left over two minutes ago.

“Yeah, I think so.” I take a small step back, trying to act unaffected, but the hard beating in my chest gives me away. I know he feels it, too. I just don’t understand why he pretends he doesn’t. “Thanks for your help,” I say, breaking the tension.

“Anytime. It was fun watching him sweat.” He grins, rocking back and forth on his feet, gripping the coffee cup tight in his hand. He’s just as nervous as I am.

“Don’t you get enough of that at work?” I tease.

“Can never have enough.” He flashes a pleased smile.

“You do have some sick fetish for that, don’t you?”

“I do. Gets all my juices flowing,” he quips.

And just like that, we’re back to our platonic friendship as if the kiss never happened. However, the ache between my legs knows otherwise. It happened, and it was hot as hell.

“What are you doing on a dating website anyway?” he asks after I grab another cup of coffee and sit across from him at the table.

“How else am I supposed to meet guys?” I ask, although it’s really a rhetorical question. “Guys in bars just want sex and one-night stands. I have a strict no dating guys from work rule and everyone else is taken or just wants me to be apart of their menage a trois.”

His brows lift. “What kind of people are you hanging out with?”

I sigh. “This city literally has no available, decent, single men. I might as well just move to another planet. Like Pluto. Get as far away from here as possible.”

“Actually, Pluto isn’t a planet anymore,” he tells me matter-of-factly.

I blink, unamused. “Great. I can’t escape this damn city.”

He chuckles, and I only slightly hate that he finds my pathetic dating life entertaining. “You’re still young. No need to panic until you’re like…thirty.”

I grab a piece of his pastry and throw it at him. “You suck.” I scowl. “I’m twenty-six, which means I’m almost thirty, and almost thirty means I should be with the guy I’m planning on marrying. Otherwise, I’ll be forty, my looks will be gone, my boobs will have fallen to my feet, and I’ll have gray hair,” I ramble, knowing I’m over exaggerating, but right now it feels true. Every date is a disaster. More than the last.

COVER REVEAL ~ Pitch Please (There’s No Crying in Baseball #1) by Lani Lynn Vale

Title: Pitch Please
Series: There’s No Crying in Baseball

Author: Lani Lynn Vale

Genre: Sports Romance

Release Date: September 8, 2017
Photographer: Michael Stokes
Cover Model: BT Urella

Baseball is life, the rest is just details.

Everyone who’s played the game has heard those words a time or two. But Hancock has heard them his entire life from his parents. His family has lived and breathed baseball even before he started little league.

Hancock “Parts” Peters has a name that inspires grins across many faces, but the moment those faces get their first look at him, those grins slide away.

Hancock is gruff, filterless, and doesn’t give a crap who he offends. He is the only man in baseball who doesn’t care if he gets an endorsement or not. He’s there to play the game. He’s there to win. He’s there because baseball is his life.

People think he’s a jerk.

And maybe he is. But if that’s how he has to come off to get people to leave him the hell alone so he can play in peace, so be it.
The less people he has to worry about offending, the better.

***

Don’t let the fear of striking out hold you back.

Sway Coffman didn’t mean to rock the boat. She was just there to do her job.

Sure, she was a woman in a man’s world. Yes, she beat out several of those men to get the job as head athletic trainer for the professional baseball team, The Texas Lumberjacks. And yeah, she now got hate mail from those men.

But she’s good at her job, and she earned the position.

What she is not good at, however, is talking to men.

Men seem to see her curvy hips, large breasts and thick thighs and automatically think she is incompetent.
Because surely a fat girl couldn’t get the job treating some of the most fit and athletic men in the world, right?

Wrong.

This fat girl got the job, and she is proud of it.

What else did she get?

The attention of the sexiest bearded man she’d ever had the pleasure of laying eyes on.

It was enough to bring to her down to her knees…in front of that man, the hot and grumpy baseball player, Hancock Peters.

“Mr. Peters!” Someone called from further down the hallway that led to the field. “Mr. Peters! Wait!”
Hancock looked over his shoulder, agitation clearly written all over his face.
“I’ve already told you I won’t be doing it.” Hancock informed the small man.
And he was small.
Maybe not compared to a normal man, but standing next to Hancock the man looked positively minimal.
“Please,” the man continued as if Hancock hadn’t even spoken. “This is a multi-thousand dollar commercial that we’ve been planning for months. Surely you understand that we’re doing it for…”
“Craig,” Hancock growled. “I am not doing the Harlem Shake. Do I look like a man that does the fucking Harlem Shake?”
Craig, who I guessed was in control of PR, smiled soothingly.
“Parts,” he held out his hand.
I still wondered why he was called Parts, but I wasn’t ever going to ask him.
It was weird, and it was also a freakin’ secret. Everyone in the entire league wondered and speculated why he was called Parts. Nobody knew, though.
“I’ll be there. But only if I can sit in the back and nobody sees me.” Hancock conceded. “And don’t try to move me, or I’m leaving. Capisce?”
Craig nodded his head urgently.
“How much time do we have until we start?” Hancock asked Craig.
“Oh, about twenty minutes or so. Do you need me to bring you anything to drink?” Craig asked, happy now that he’d gotten his way.
But I knew that Craig hadn’t gotten his way.
Far from it.
If I had my guess, Hancock wouldn’t even be in the commercial.
He’d literally stay on the sidelines and make it a point to stay out of each of every shot, just like he did after games when reporters were hoping to interview him.
Then there were the photos that featured him in them.
None of them were taken with his permission.
Other than the one that the MLB used to show his stats during games, I’d never seen one picture with him looking at the camera.
“No, no drink Craig. Thank you.” Hancock waved Craig off.
The moment Craig was dismissed, he hurried back in the direction of the field, a freakin’ skip in his step.
When he rounded the corner, I turned to face Hancock fully again.
“What?” I asked, wondering what that look on his face was about.
“I’m not doing the Harlem Shake.” He repeated.
I held up my hands in understanding.
“I’m not much of a dancer, either. You and me can hang out in the back like the losers we are.” I teased.
I hadn’t meant that either of us were necessarily real losers or anything, and the moment the words left my lips, I realized how it sounded.
“I’m sorry,” I said, holding up my hand. “In no way, shape, or form am I accusing you of being a loser.”
He grinned.
“It’s okay.” He winked. “I don’t dance. I don’t do pictures. In fact, if I had my way, I wouldn’t even be here right now.”
I smiled at him.
“Sway!” Someone called. “Let’s go! We have to sit together in the front.”
Sinclair, the one man in the entire complex that I didn’t want to see, was standing there sneering at me.
“She’s not sitting in the front, Sinclair. She’s sitting with me in the back. We have to talk about what I expect out of her this season.” Hancock rumbled, stopping me with a large hand on my arm when I went to move around him.

At the age of twenty-nine-plus-one, I am at the top of my game…professionally. My personal life is a completely different story, one best left untold. I wasn’t looking for Derek Wolfe.

I wasn’t looking for anybody. All I wanted was to start a new life in America. But when I found myself stranded here with no place to go, he came to my rescue, offering me a place to stay.

He’s smart, successful, and sexy as hell—I can barely sleep knowing he’s right down the hall. And when the chemistry between us explodes one night with fierce, fiery passion, it’s hard to deny there’s something real between us.

But he does.

He says he was drunk. He says it was a one-time thing. He says he’s not into guys and what we did meant nothing.

He’s lying. Because it happened again, and again, and again. And it’s better every time.

I know we could be good together, and I want the chance to try, but I’m done hiding. If he’s not strong enough to admit the truth, I’ll have to be strong enough to walk away.

As the CEO of one of the biggest companies in the city, I am one lucky man.
Everyone wants a taste of what I’ve got to offer, and it’s massive. Girls fight over me in droves.
In my fantasy, of course. I had to make some sacrifices to get to the top.
To protect myself and the company, I always have to hide my dirty little secret…
I’m a panty sniffer.
What? A man has needs. Mine are just a bit more… outrageous.
Instead of dating, I hoard panties.
Except it’s about to blow up in my face.
Why?
Because a beautiful girl just showed up for a job interview … the same girl I just bought a pair of panties from anonymously…
And what do I do?
I let my junk do the thinking, and hire her as my intern.

Author’s note: Don’t take it too hard, it’s just a book, not a big D. But this guy does have one. I’m not kidding. His schlong is huge and his ego is too, so beware. And as always … if you don’t like slapstick jokes and corny romance, don’t bother to read.

I close twitter and go about my business, but my conversation with that girl keeps haunting me.
When I check in a few hours later, she’s already sent me the tracking code. A package filled with sweet, sexy panties is on the way.
And I can’t stop myself from immediately using her email to search for her online. Is it sneaky? Yes. But I’m too obsessed to listen to that little voice in my head telling me I’m wrong for doing this. I just wanna find out who she is. Where she’s at. What she looks like. What her favorite movies and books are. What she likes to eat for breakfast.
It doesn’t take me long to find it either.
Somehow, on an obscure website, her old email address still lingers, where she mentions switching over to a new, anonymous one. So I use the old email to find her Facebook profile and bam … I’ve got a hit in minutes.
Not too bad for some half-assed detective work.
Guess she didn’t think about covering her tracks. Or maybe she just thought no one would be interested enough to find out.
But oh boy, when I find her pictures … real pictures … I’m smitten.
A pretty face hides underneath soft, blonde hair, the perfect flush on her cheeks. Her smile … so damn bright, it could light the room. And her curves … ouch, they’re so hot that I’m on fire from just looking at her.
Beautiful is an understatement.
I’m flabbergasted. Just blown away that a girl like her … sells panties to online strangers.
Who’d have thought?
Damn, I’m seriously impressed. When I look through her pictures of her drinking and partying with friends, but also hard at work on her laptop, I get the sense that she’s someone who lives out loud and loves life.
And that look in her eyes makes me choke up.
Goddamn, TJ, keep it together.
I click away from her pictures and back to her profile, still not capable of stopping myself from snooping. In her posts she talks about her classes and the work she’s doing with her ‘secret’ new business. And then there’s a post about her
job application, and how she just sent it in with Morrows.
My company.
My inbox bleeps.
I click on the notification and stare at the email in complete shock.

It’s her.
Panty girl, applying for an internship at my company.
A grin slowly spreads on my face.
This is going to be interesting.

A Dragon’s Treasure

by Beverly Ovalle

coming June 16th, 2017

SYNOPSIS

Kai has been hunting for his mate for a very long time. Drawn to a singular place on earth, filled with treasures, he still seeks the greatest treasure of them all. His mate.

Fleeing danger, Connie runs into the arms of destiny, but she has plans already, and a Dragon mate is not on the agenda.

Kai has waited centuries for Connie, and he will claim his mate. Patience may not be a Dragon’s virtue, but he always gets his treasure.

Sparks fly in this humorous erotic tale of mating and mayhem.

EXCERPT

Connie’s eyes widened. “Ellen, this isn’t another one of your men, is it?” she whispered. A stirring of jealousy nudged her at the thought.

A peal of laughter came from Ellen, while Breccan growled. “No, of course not. This is my foreman, Kai. Kai, this is my cousin Connie.”

Hi.” Connie smiled appreciatively at Kai, her heart beating erratically. “Ellen, do you have all the good looking men in town on your place?” The jealousy gone, she could feel his pull. So not what she needed right now.

Hello.” Kai grinned at Connie. “So, this is where you were heading?” He came over and leaned down, grabbing her hand, lifting it to his mouth. His lips were soft, lightning streaked through her body at the touch of his lips against her skin. Connie wanted to drown in the sensation, a shiver spreading across her body.

Connie tugged her hand from his and nodded. “I decided to come visit Ellen. I needed to get away from the city for a bit.” A shadow passed over her face. Seeing it, Kai gazed intently into her eyes. All the men reacted, their spines straightening and eyes sharpening, all looking at Connie.

Kai pulled Connie into his body, wrapping his steely arms around her. “What’s wrong? What are you scared of?”

Connie gasped and wriggled away. Her nipples tightened beneath her thin robe and pajamas. She wouldn’t look down. She didn’t want to know if they were obvious.

Nothing. Well, something. I can’t talk about it yet. I don’t really know how to explain it.” She shook her head, frustrated that he’d known she hid something. Ignoring her haywire hormones that thought being wrapped around him perfectly fine, she plopped back down in her chair. “Let me get it straight. I already asked Ellen to give me a couple of days. You guys are just going to have to wait also.”

You can explain it now.” Hands on his hips, every inch of Kai demanded an answer.

Connie glared up into Kai’s eyes. “Well excuse me, Mr. Bossy Pants. Since I don’t know you, you have no say in what I do or don’t do.” Who did he think he was? He had no right to question her. None. “I’m going to get dressed.” Connie flounced up, moving to avoid touching Kai. Gah, even his name was sexy.

COVER REVEAL ~ Ride Or Die by Cee Cee Riley

Ride or Die #1

A Devil’s Highwaymen MC novel

‘We would blow up this world and create something beautiful in its ruins’

Jesse & Laney 1985

We were each survivors of our upbringing: lost, unloved and afraid. But like moths to a flame, we couldn’t stay apart.

We loved.

We lost.

We fought.

We cried.

And then we shattered each other’s hearts.

Jesse was a hard man: a biker outlaw for the Devil’s Highwaymen MC. I was Laney: the daughter of a dead mother and a father that didn’t know or want me.

We were doomed right from the start.

But this was our romance.

And this was our disaster.

And hopefully, this would be our second chance.

Excerpt

1985 – Jesse

We both looked up as the door to the clubhouse opened and Gauge walked in, followed closely by his daughter, Laney. Casa nudged me almost making me fall over and then he burst into laughter as I almost spilt my beer down myself. God-damn fucking idiot.

“Pussy whipped and you ain’t even got any yet,” he laughed harder.

“Fuck off.”

“Too many offers to fuck bitches to find time to fuck myself, brother,” he snorted.

“Offers from your mama!” I bit out.

Casa stopped laughing and scowled at me. “That shits just disrespectful.”

“That’s what your mama said, you pussy!” I flashed him a grin and strutted over to where Laney was. Pretty sure he called me something, but I drown his voice out in favour of taking in Laney’s beautiful figure. She was wearing something different than her usual denim cut-offs and tee tonight—a lacy, white, figure-hugging dress that skimmed her golden thighs. Course, she still wore her little black ankle boots. Her hair was up on top of her head in one of those weird knot things that women wore, and I had the urge to reach over and let it down. Not that the look didn’t suit her, it did, anything would fucking suit her, but there was something about the way her dark hair sashayed over her back that always turned me on.

“Keep an eye on her tonight, Jesse, she’s feelin’ particularly bitchy,” Gauge said, patting me on the shoulder.

“Go fuck a cow!” Laney snapped back.

“Cunt!”

“Dick!”

Gauge looked between us both and shook his head before walking away, grumbling something under his breath. Things were not getting any easier between them, if anything, they were getting worse. Little did Gauge know that soon enough Laney wouldn’t be his problem, but mine. I smiled at the thought.

“I hate him,” she said, still watching after him.

“Ain’t no secret about that,” I grinned.

Her cheeks flushed pink at the sight of me and I could tell she was restraining herself from smiling. She brushed her hands down her dress nervously and I watched appreciatively. God-damn she looked beautiful. Could only imagine what she would feel like wrapped around me—at least for now.

“You wanna beer?” I asked and she nodded and smiled again. Beautiful. Fucking beautiful.

We headed to the bar and Rose popped open a beer and slid it over as we got close. “Looking real pretty tonight, Laney.”

Laney blushed and looked down at herself, and this time there was no mistaking that she was trying to hold back a smile. “Thanks, Rose, just something I threw on, nothing special.”

“Really? Well, darlin’ you scrub up good, ain’t that right, Jesse?”

Both women turned to look at me and I had to hold back on my eagerness to reply. “Don’t think I’ve ever seen Laney look anything but good,” I said, looking between the two women.

Rose’s eyes sparked with mischievousness. “Well, that goes without saying,” she replied.

Laney picked up her beer and cleared her throat loudly before taking a swig, and I could barely tear my gaze away from her damp lips wrapped around the end of the bottle. I shifted uncomfortably, needing to rearrange my junk but thinking better of it. Pussy-whipped before I’d even gotten any. Casa’ was fucking right.

I turned to Laney, “You wanna’ go for a walk?”

“Sure,” she replied, tucking a loose piece of hair behind her ears. Christ on a bike, even her ears were beautiful. “See you later, Rose,” Laney said as I placed my hand on the bottom of her back and started to guide her away.

“You two kids have fun,” Rose called back and I shot her a look.

We headed outside, away from the noise and the crowds, and into the cool September evening air. The sun was setting, casting an orange glow over everything and little insects were buzzing around. I walked us over to the trees to the left of the clubhouse, intending on sitting down at one of the small picnic tables we’d set up earlier this year, but when we got there Laney reached down and took my hand before leading us further away and out of sight.

Her hand in mine felt like fuckin’ heaven. Her grip both soft yet strong. And god-damn, being this close to her I could smell whatever shampoo she used and I’ll be damned if she didn’t smell like strawberries. Strawberries and cream, god damn. My jeans grew tighter, and while still holding my beer, I reached down and rearranged myself.

Laney slowed to a stop and turned back to face me, her tongue darting out to lick her pink lips.

“Thought we could use some privacy,” she said, her voice a soft breath.

I smiled, knowing exactly why she wanted privacy. My girl was trying to seduce me. I must have been the luckiest fucking man in the world, right now, and I’ll be damned if I wasn’t going to drag this out and then make her scream my name afterwards.

“Yeah?” I said, taking a swig of my beer. “What for?” Her cheeks flushed red, and I wondered if the rest of her would be as pink as her cheeks. Damn hope so.

She let go of my hand and took a swig of her own beer. “Gauge watches my every move,” she said after a hesitant moment. Thought she was going to bottle it for a minute there. I grinned.

“Man knows what his brothers are like,” I replied.

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.”

“And what are they like?” she asked, testing the waters. She took another drink, and I could barely speak for a second when a drop of beer slid down off her bottom lip and she licked it away. My blood rushed away from my brain and to a different part of my body altogether.

I cleared my throat. “Horny motherfuckers, all of them.”

“All of them?” she asked, one eyebrow lifted questioningly, a small smile on her mouth.

“Every. Last. One,” I replied.

It’s supposed to be simple. Get in, get the girl, and get out.

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.

He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.

When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.

You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend–smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.

He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he’d done.

Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.

Only it turned out, the man I’d just told off wasn’t the right guy.

Oops. My mistake.

Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.

I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?

That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.

Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.

I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.

Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.

This was going to be interesting…
