An injured rugby star, his pregnant roommate, and one rule they can’t break: Don’t date the owner’s daughter.
It was supposed to be an easy house- and dog-sitting gig while the owner was gone for a month. But when my sportsing landlord comes home unexpectedly, injured and in need of a new arrangement, we end up as accidental roommates instead.
But if Holt Webster, the tall, thick-muscled, square-jawed, broody-eyed rugby player, had told me he played for the Copper Valley Pounders, I would’ve told him that my stepdad bought the team while I was working cruise ships overseas.
And he would’ve noped out of offering me a place to stay because the only thing worse than looking like you’re flirting with the owner’s daughter is looking like you’re hooking up with the owner’s pregnant daughter.
Yes, yes, I’m that woman—the one who accidentally got knocked up, decided to keep the baby, and had to move home because pregnancy and cruise ships aren’t a good match.
And now I’m that woman who doesn’t just look like she’s hooking up with an off-limits player. I actually am hooking up with an off-limits player. But who can blame me? He’s hot. He’s kind. And he’s spending our nights sleeping with his hand on my baby bump.
Claiming us both.
But if my dad finds out, Holt’s gone. And we’ll be…rucked.
The Roommate Mistake is a heart-tugging sports romcom featuring two people in need of new best friends, a dog with an attitude, and a very…fowl…meet-cute. It stands alone and comes complete with a found family happily ever after. Content note: This book contains a character dealing with the loss of his brother to cancer.
I know it’s hard to believe that there’s a character more loveable than Fletcher Huxley but Holt Webster is that guy!!!
I absolutely adored Ziggy & Holt’s story.
From their first meeting, to the miscommunication about what sport he played, the house and dog-sitting and unfortunate (or was it!?!) early return of Holt from his training camp, I just knew from the get go that I was gonna love their story and when you throw in a crazy kind of adopted dog, a growing friendship that becomes SO MUCH MORE and a bunch of nutty teammates – who definitely have both our MCs backs – there was no chance of not adoring this second book in the Copper Valley Pounders series.
Some of the things both characters were dealing with were so relatable, loss (whether it’s losing a loved one to illness or a friendship you thought meant more than it obviously did) is something that a lot of people will have experienced and Pippa dealt with both, but especially Holt’s loss, in a real and understandable way.
This pair were perfect together. I loved everything about their budding relationship and how they looked out for each other.
I was delighted that we caught up with Goldie and her gal pals and were introduced to the rest of the rugby team. Now that we’ve met more of the guys there’s at least a couple of them that I’m dying to find out more about!
You could read this as a standalone but then you’d miss out on Mr Moustache himself and you really don’t want to do that!

AUTHOR BIO
Pippa Grant wanted to write books, so she did. Before she became a USA Today and #1 Amazon bestselling romantic comedy author, she was a young military spouse who got into writing as self-therapy. That happened around the time she discovered reading romance novels, and the two eventually merged into a career. Today, she has more than 30 knee-slapping Pippa Grant titles and nine written as Jamie Farrell. When she’s not writing romantic comedies, she’s fumbling through being a mom, wife, and mountain woman, and sometimes trying to find hobbies. Her crowning achievement? Having impeccable timing for telling stories that will make people snort beverages out of their noses. Consider yourself warned.
“Books are a uniquely portable magic.”

My favourite genre is PNR - yep, more than happy to admit that I’m a bit of a #parawhores...... but small town is a very close second!!! In saying that, I’ll read and review a real mix of genres - from the better known authors to new-to-me authors and everything in between.
I hope you enjoy the posts and that they might lead you to some ‘new to you’ authors.
Thanks for stopping by.
