Licked by Brooke Blaine
Date of Publication: November 11, 2015

Blurb
As the owner of Licked, an eclectic ice creamery and bar, Ryleigh Phillips doesn’t have time for that love stuff. Serving up Nibble My Nuts sundaes and Drunken Sailor boozy shakes are as close to an orgasmic affair as she’s had in months thanks to her expanding empire—until the night of her ten-year high school reunion.
When Ryleigh’s crush, gorgeous ex-football god Cameron Mathis, comes streaking into her life (literally—streaking), she begins to wonder if she really can have it all.
Wouldn’t it just figure that the moment you think life is perfect is when it falls spectacularly apart?
Enter Hunter Morgan, the contractor in charge of Licked’s renovations. Devastatingly handsome, and a smartass to boot, he’s got his eyes on Ryleigh from the moment he finds her passed out on his couch (yeah, that’s a long story). There’s just one tiny complication—he happens to be Cameron’s best friend.
When the lines between relationships and friendships blur, and it’s impossible to choose between two delicious flavors, what’s a girl to do? Taste a sample of each? Or go out and get LICKED?
About Brooke Blaine
You could say Brooke Blaine was a book-a-holic from the time she knew how to read; she used to tell her mother that curling up with one at 4 a.m. before elementary school was her ‘quiet time.’ Not much has changed except for the espresso I.V. pump she now carries around and the size of her onesie pajamas.
Flash Point is Brooke’s debut solo novel, and she is the co-author of the erotic serial, A Desperate Man, with Ella Frank. The latter has scarred her conservative southern family for life, bless their hearts. Licked, a romantic comedy, will be released on November 11th, 2015.
If you’d like to get in touch with her, she’s easy to find – just keep an ear out for the Rick Astley ringtone that’s dominated her cell phone for ten years.

Together, they begin a perilous journey through a nation laid to waste by the disaster. Challenges abound along the way. The weather, injury, and shortage of supplies all help to slow them down. In time, they discover that they aren’t the only survivors. Some are friendly but some have had their minds destroyed by the high fever. Then there are those who simply take what they want, leaving Carly and Justin with no choice but to defend what is theirs.
But their journey is not without joy and love. Together, they face every struggle, including an unplanned pregnancy. Despite the perils of bringing a child into a world of chaos, their baby is a new beginning for themselves and a symbol of hope for the other survivors they find along the way.
This is the story of their journey to find a place to begin a new life, and a home in each other.
EXCERPT from Book 1, The End of All Things
Two days later, they were out of food again, and Carly was faced with the prospect of trying to make it out to the store.
Sam swatted his metal bowl with his paw, and then stared down at it with a hint of expectation, as if rattling it would make food appear. Perhaps, in his little doggy head it did, because Carly had always filled it whenever she heard the bowl clatter on the floor.
Carly went over to the window to peek out at Biker Guy. Still there. Yesterday, she had gathered all of her courage and gone down to the lobby door again, but he had met her there with another Hello, and she’d panicked and darted back upstairs.
He was looking up at her window. He waved and reached down beside his bucket to pick up something that looked like a large white sheet of poster board. He held it up, and she could see the words he’d painted on it in black: PLEASE DON’T BE AFRAID. I WON’T HURT YOU.
He dropped the top poster to reveal another beneath it: I JUST WANT TO TALK TO YOU.
Carly thought that was highly unlikely. Whatever this guy wants, it isn’t just a scintillating conversation.
He held up another sign: I’M REALLY A NICE GUY. HONEST.
Yeah, like he’d tell me if he wasn’t.
He grinned as he held up the last board: SURRENDER, DOROTHY.
Carly had to giggle, but it faded as she realized it was the first time she’d laughed since the Crisis. She retreated and let the curtain drop. Indecision gnawed at her. She had to get food, and that meant confronting Biker Guy, whether she liked it or not.

Play. Or be played.
The music should be enough. End of story. But Aaron Major is finding out it’s not, and now his agent has hired a firm of suits to help launch his debut album, turning his life into a goddamn circus. Smile here. Play there. Be nice. Well, screw that. If Aaron wanted to spend his time shaking hands and kissing babies, he would’ve gone into politics.
Helping launch the career of country singer Aaron Major should be a cakewalk for PR pro Melody Sharp. Aaron is charming, sexy, and oh-so-appealing when he’s on stage. Off stage, though, he’s her worst nightmare. A stubborn, ornery, reclusive nightmare without a lick of business-or fashion-sense. The only way he’s going to make it in music is with a serious makeover-and quite possibly a personality transplant.
Soon, they’re engaged in a game of give and take, and though it’s Melody calling the shots, it’s Aaron who holds all control…

Excerpt:
“This is not something you can just blurt out, Aaron.”
She sat up but didn’t leave the bed.
Good girl.
She had let him know earlier that one of the reasons she left Sweetwater was to gain experience in all things—work and play. What he hadn’t known is that she hadn’t really made much progress on the play side. It surprised him, considering how responsive and enthusiastic she’d been with him. It also was an enormous relief, which it shouldn’t have been. She was not his, and he had no reason to feel one way or another about her sex life.
But when she mentioned that she had come up with a list of particulars that she wanted to check off before she headed home, he wanted to be the guy to help her.
“Let me at least hold on to some shred of my pride,” she said. “This is embarrassing stuff.”
How could he deny her request after what she did for him tonight? She said so much with that gesture. The memories and feelings and emotions had hit him hard. He couldn’t believe she would plan that for him. He remembered mentioning his love for the rodeo one night in passing. He had no idea she’d been paying such close attention.
So yes, he should’ve given her a break regarding her little secret. But he wasn’t going to. Not when the subject matter was this juicy. And there were other reasons, too. He wasn’t a completely selfish bastard.
Mel wasn’t going to be his roommate forever, and she’d already done so much for him. She definitely drew the short end of the stick in this arrangement, and he wanted to pay her back. In a big way.
“I will get it out of you, Melody Sharp.” He joined her on the bed, tugging at her pigtails.
She cleared her throat and turned the most incredible shade of scarlet. Oh hell, this had to be good. He fixed his eyes on those plump lips, ready to hang on her every word.
“Okay,” she said in a raspy voice that made him ache.
Shit was getting serious. She looked at him from under her lashes. “So one of the things on my list is oral sex.”
He interrupted her. “Hell, that shouldn’t be anything new. It’s the mainstay of every healthy relationship and even the unhealthy ones. Don’t tell me you’ve been with guys who had an issue with it?
“You didn’t let me finish,” she said impatiently. “I mean doing it at the same time.”
“You mean sixty-nine?” he asked.
