Synopsis
To Chuito the apartment was a self-imposed prison for a lifetime of sins. To Alaine, the girl next door, it was salvation from her overbearing, religious father.
He was a devil.
She was an angel.
Two people who should’ve never met, let alone become friends, but it’s not until they give into the dangerous passion that’s been simmering under the surface for five years that things go to hell.
On the outside, Chuito ‘The Slayer’ Garcia is on top of the world. He’s successful. He’s wealthy. He’s a champion MMA fighter surrounded by friends who support him, but they don’t know what he was before he came to Garnet.
A gangster.
A thief.
An addict.
A murderer.
Now his past is churning up demons he can’t ignore. Chuito knows he needs to go back to Miami to end it, but there’s something holding him back, a single temptation he can’t resist before leaving.
Alaine.
She’s the one drug he can’t give up…even if it destroys them both.
“To me you’re coke. Fine. Smooth. Perfectly white. Very bad for me, but so fucking sexy I don’t give a shit. It’s worth going down for.” – Chuito Garcia

EXCERPT
“I’m an addict. You know that. Getting off the drugs has never changed that. If I—”
He swallowed hard, and his voice was still full of pain. “I just can’t. I shouldn’t even touch you.”
“You drink,” she pointed out. “You’re not addicted to that.”
“Alcohol is not my drug of choice. It’s the exact opposite of it.”
“I’m not cocaine,” she reminded him.
“That’s what you think?” He glanced at her over his shoulder, his dark gaze running over her for one long, hot moment until it stopped to rest on the pink lace of her bra.
“To me you’re coke. Fine. Smooth. Perfectly white. Very bad for me, but so fucking sexy I don’t give a shit. It’s worth going down for.”

BLP REVIEW ~ REBECCA
When it comes to writing the bad boys we love to tame, Kele Moon does some of the best and with The Slayer she has taken it up another level, this is in my opinion her best work yet. I always knew she was a talented author and enjoyed her books as she has a way with these rough, tough, loyal, strong and sexy alphas but her growth in her craft shines in this book. It’s intricate and complex with so much depth and emotion it grips you and never lets go. If I thought I loved Chu, Tino and Nova before then I am now in the obsessed zone and this is by far my favourite.
At heart The Slayer is Chu and Alaine’s story, the gang member and the preachers daughter, on paper polar opposites who should not be together but love and lust don’t follow rules or accept boundaries, and from the slow build in the other books I always knew when the passion and love exploded between these two that it would be captivating – what I didn’t expect was the range of emotion Kele would wring from me, just how invested I would become in their relationship and care for their them.

The Slayer shows beautifully Alaine’s inner strength, her compassion and love for Chu, it also gives us so much insight into Chu, his moral compass and loyalty, love for his friends and family, desire to protect and look after both even at his own cost of happiness, he is so much more than I expected, the Devil and the Angel flawlessly written and totally captivating.
The warmth, humour, love and affection shines between all of our main cast. This is a story of family and friends, bromance and romance, all set against a background of mafia, gangs, MMA and small town life, told so seamlessly with such detail you cannot put it down and see it 3D in your head. Kristen Ashley and Kele Moon are both masters at interweaving plots and cast members through different books and series which I personally adore, no matter which couple takes centre stage we also catch up with previous ones, discover new and see who might be next. The development of characters primary and secondary is consistent and almost comforting.
The Slayer is outstanding. Chu and Alaine will break your heart then put it back together, Tino and Chu will do the same (told you bromance and romance!). This is a longer book with so much going on, the story twists and turns in ways I never anticipated at all, to say it’s a girl meets boy, good versus evil, devil and angel just does not even start to describe the facets that make The Slayer and these series (Battered Hearts & Untamed Hearts) so good, so addictive and give a few hours of pure unadulterated pleasure and escapism.
This is way more than a five star read, it’s a discovery of an author and books that you will reread time and again, it’s a world that will be in your head long after finishing and it’s a discovery of some of the best fantasy book boyfriends you could hope for, Romeo, Chu, Tino and Nova especially!

ABOUT KELE MOON
A freckle faced, redhead born and raised in Hawaii, Kele Moon has always been a bit of a sore thumb and has come to enjoy the novelty of it. She thrives off pushing the envelope and finding ways to make the impossible work in her story telling. With a mad passion for romance, she adores the art of falling in love. The only rules she believes in is that, in love there are no rules and true love knows no bounds.
So obsessed is she with the beauty of romance and the novelty of creating it she’s lost in her own wonder world most of the time. Thankfully she married her own dark, handsome, brooding hero who had infinite patience for her airy ways and attempts to keep her grounded. When she leaves her keys in the refrigerator or her cell phone in the oven he’s usually there to save her from herself. The two of them now reside in Florida with their three beautiful children who make their lives both fun and challenging in equal parts–They wouldn’t have it any other way.
