REVIEW & RECOMMENDATION ~ CRAVING ABSOLUTION (THE ACES #3) by Nicole Jacquelyn
Posted by Book Loving Pixies
BLURB:
Farrah Miller and Cody “Casper” Butler have a longstanding relationship that both refuse to discuss.
It isn’t romantic.
It may not even be classified as a friendship.
Casper’s been saving Farrah from herself for longer than he’d care to admit, watching silently as she drowned herself in alcohol and bad decisions. Then when she finally got her act together, he left. He told himself he was giving her time to sort herself out. He tried to give her space.
But getting shot in the chest can change a man’s perspective, and Casper’s done waiting.
When he shows up on her doorstep one night, everything changes.
He’s the man who’s seen her at her very worst.
She’s his weakness.
He runs when things get hard.
She never lets anyone see below the surface and is terrified of being abandoned.
Casper knows it’s a long shot, that there’s a good chance she’ll never drop her guard for him- but he has to try. Because a life with Farrah is exactly what he wants…
Even if he has to fight her for it.

ABOUT NICOLE:

Nicole Jacquelyn is the mom of two little girls and a full time college student. She hasn’t watched television in well over a year, she still does things that drive her mother crazy, and
she loves to read. At eight years old, when asked what she wanted to be when she grew up,
she told people she wanted to be a mom. When she was twelve her answer changed – to author.
By the time she was eighteen, when people asked her what she wanted to do with her life, she told them she really wanted to be a writer- but the odds of that happening were so slim that she’d get her business degree “just to be safe”. Her dreams stayed constant. First she became a mom, then she went to college, and during her senior year- with one daughter in first grade and the other in preschool, she sat down and wrote a story.

BLP REVIEWS:

Biker/MC books have exploded in popularity over recent times which makes for a huge market and therefore a huge choice with more quantity than quality. The Good, the Bad, the Ugly, the mediocre, the downright silly and sometimes occasionally the special.
Nicole Jacquelyn’s ACE’S MC Series is one of these. Her debut book ‘Craving Constellations’ was a huge success, ‘Craving Redemption’ was a solid continuation and ‘Craving Absolution’ is, for me, the best so far.
My review for ‘Craving Redemption’ was actually titled #cravingcasper because I was desperate for his story and knew I was going to be enamoured ~ Farrah was just meh for me, I wasn’t fussed either way.
I write this a week after finishing and still get a lump in my throat and cannot get my thoughts in order.

That`s it. On rewind in my head. Over and over.
I have the feels for Farrah. Huge. Emotional overload. At 49% I had to stop. And take a breath. And then another.
My heart was breaking for her. The reasons for the Ladybug nickname. The quilt. The traumatic experiences gone through as a child to cause coping consequences like this are just too awful to contemplate. However the writing is flawless, wringing every tiny piece of emotion out of you. Picks you up, chews you up and spits you out.
At this point I hated one character but this book was full of WTF moments so I really shouldn`t be surprised that nothing was as it seemed and he redeemed himself completely. It’s a rollercoaster ride a lot of the way.
I still adored Casper who struggled to do right for the damaged Farrah, for his club and his brothers, for his family, for himself but I am so totally for Farrah and the feels in this one.
I can`t wind this up without a reference to the epilogue, I LOVED it! Mega WTF moments, glimpses into the future that were fabulous, I reread it 3 times!!
So if you want quality with feels then this book and series is for you…..
Congratulations to Nicole Jacquelyn this one is a keeper for the bookshelf.

When I was offered a review copy of the third book in the ACES series by Nicole Jacquelyn I have to admit, I jumped at the chance!
It’s been a while since a book has had me reading just about nonstop ALL day – I didn’t want to put CRAVING ABSOLUTION down though I had to eventually, but it was a struggle!!!!
Definitely my favourite of the 3 books in the series, CRAVING ABSOLUTION was a really emotional story that focused on the relationship between Farrah & Cody (Casper).
Farrah was a truly terrific character – after reading about her in CRAVING REDEMPTION I really wasn’t sure how she was gonna come across in CA – but I shouldn’t have worried – Nicole made me ADORE Farrah.
My heart broke for her and I wanted so much for things to work out – after reading about her past, her behaviour in CRAVING REDEMPTION made so much sense.
Cody was a star – though at one point I kept thinking he really needed a bit of a kick up the arse – but learning about just how much he had been a part of Farrah’s life until their book began was interesting and very telling of how he felt about her. Reading about how he went from model student to MC member and the reasons behind his choices gave us more of an insight into the man that he had grown into.
Their story wasn’t an easy one. They had their share of rough times and heartache but the journey they took us on was fab and kept me engaged from the start. At 50% in I was a snotty, runny nosed, red eyed mess… Could happily have done in a couple of characters… (all I can say is keep the tissues handy!!)
We caught up again with other characters that we met in previous books including Dragon & Brenna, Asa & Callie as well as Slider and other members of the ACES MC.
Gram, as ever, was awesome, and with her sister Lily, gods, what a fantastic pair!!!
The Epilogue…. jeez, how can I put it….. it’s FANBLOODYTASTIC!!!!
Nicole did it again with CRAVING ABSOLUTION, it’s a truly wonderful book – and it’s not just the story that I’m talking about. Nicole’s writing has grown and developed with each book in the series and it has been fabulous to watch.
If you haven’t picked up your copy of CRAVING ABSOLUTION yet, do it NOW….It’s bloody brilliant!!!!
