HAPPY NEW YEAR ~ & 2014 Book Challenges!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR MY LOVELIES………
Can’t believe that’s us into another year already!! I must be getting old as I’d swear the last 12 months has flown by!!
2013 was a very mixed year for me but one of the biggest highlights was finally getting to meet some of the wonderful girls on our DDD Book Club. We went to Galveston in Texas and had an awesome few days there – having fun, catching up and enjoying a drink or 10!!! Can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard or as much!!!! 😉
Loved meeting them all and now we only have 14 months until we catch up again, this time in Vegas – this time there’s gonna be a helluva lot more Divas than last year!!! 😀
This year I once again signed up to the Goodreads Book Challenge.
Last year I chose a target of 50 books – it was the first time I’d done anything like this and tbh, wasn’t really sure how many books I should go for……
I found out my total yesterday – I had hit target (barely) but I thought that was quite good…… Until I started comparing the books on my kindle to those on my GR list and also what I had actually read to what was on my TBR list…..
It would appear that I’ve actually read a fair few more than the 50 I went for…. how many more I’m not entirely sure and I now think it would be too much work to go back over 1300+ books to update the list just out of interest!!! :-\
This year my target # is 200…… So far I’m nearly finished my first full read of the year (A Carrie Ann Ryan ARC) but I have completed a reread of one of my fave books of last year….. Today, our DDD Book Club is discussing Craving Constellations so I decided a third read was in order last night!!!

2014 Reading Challenge
First challenge. The idea is to read one book from the list in the course of the next 12 months.
1. Read a free ebook.
2. Read a book that the title starts with the letter Q.
3. Clear a book off your TBR which has been there for longer than 1 year.
(If newer to GR than a book that has been on there when you first joined.)
4. Read an historical novel that is set pre. 1600s
5. Read a contemporary book.
6. Catch up on a series.
7. Read the first book in a series.
8. Read a standalone book.
9. Pick it for me – a book recommended by someone else.
10. Read a book which has a purple cover.
11. Read a book not set in your native country.
12. Read a book published in 1998 ( I know, it’s a random date.)
13. Read a book 1000 pages or more.
I’ll keep you up-to-date with how I’m doing on all 3 challenges throughout the year!!!

Anna, looking forward to your challenge…. Gonna pick some books to add to that TBR list for the year!!
With the DDD BC challenge, I kinda worried that I’ll not manage the 1000 page book – that’s if I can find one…. :-\
Stephanie picked some really good individual challenges for us I think…. she’s definitely out to stretch us with those choices!!!
Finished my first new book of the year and reread Craving Constellations (though not sure I’ll count it towards the challenges!), read 2 novellas last night from an anthology I started before Xmas.
Can’t decide what to read next, thinking I’m gonna go for Raw…. The girls in the BC have been saying how good it is so interested to see how it goes!!! 😀

And holy cow the last one in your 3rd challenge. A book over 1000 pages. Eep! That’s one huge book! I’ve read 800 pages I think.
