Review – Dhellia has a Conscience – by April M. Reign
Dhellia Has a Conscience’ is the fabulous new book from one of my favourite authors, April M. Reign.
Dhellia Hunt is a brassed-off, kick-ass, red-headed fire-cracker who just happens to be the Princess of Hell. Having had enough of living under the constant watch of her father, Satan, she escaped his clutches for three months. During her time ‘upstairs’ she led her fathers hellhounds & minions on a merry dance around the world, before finally ending up back in Hell to face his wrath.
As you would expect, Satan is none too pleased that she ran away in the first place and things aren’t looking good for any future forays out of ‘downstairs’.
As Dhellia’s future starts to look increasingly bleak, her brother & protector, Damien, steals her away and, with the help of 2 of the unlikeliest allies imaginable, hides her in the safest place he can think of.
Having once again escaped the grip of Hell, Dhellia has to learn to live with her new house-mates and finds herself in the unexpected position of having to find herself a job (seriously, whoever heard of a princess having to work?!).
She ends up employed by a law firm – it is here, during her first week in the job, that she meets the mysterious and breathtaking Mr Sable. What is his secret, why does he affect Dhellia so much and what is his interest in her?
Dhellia, along with her new friends – Jonas, a vampire who is allergic to human blood (yeah, really!!) and a statistics mad wizard called Gavin – & her dark, brooding half-demon brother are an interesting, if eclectic, cast of characters who take us on a laugh out loud, fun & adventure filled journey that has a cliffhanger of an ending….. I can’t wait for the story to continue in book 2, Dhellia, Quest for The Keys
