Excerpt:

When I grab the sketchpad off the bed he looks over at me. “Wait, my sister has a tattoo?”

He looks dumbfounded and it’s almost funny. She must not have mentioned that to him yet.

“Yeah. She has one done and the other I just started on,” I say, flipping to the page I’m looking for.

Folding the other pages back, I hold it up for him to see.

“Holy fuck man! That shit is fucking awesome. You are seriously talented,” he says, examining the details.

Last night he had mentioned that he had always wanted to get a heaven and hell type of tattoo, so I put my spin on it and made it what I thought he would like. If I’m honest, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

“When can you start?” he asks with a huge grin.

“I didn’t schedule anything tonight, so any time is good with me,” I state.

He flips the page and sees the one I was working on for Brielle.

“These are her favorite things,” he smiles looking up at me.

“Yeah, she told me about them,” I reply, watching as he looks over all the pictures. When he comes to the teddy bear, he gives me a questioning look.

“I know she didn’t tell you this one,” he points at the bear.

“The night I came back from Vegas after the photo album was sent to her apartment, she was having a dream. All she kept saying was that she couldn’t find her bear and that she knew your mom had taken it and hidden it from her. She was mumbling about her mom knowing how much it meant to her and she only took it to punish her.”

Greyson’s eyes widen and he nods. “Yeah. I remember that. She was about ten and our mom hated that thing. She tried to get rid of it a lot because our uncle bought it for her. She hated when he bought us stuff, especially when we liked it more than the things she bought us.”

Shaking my head, I can’t believe how their mother would get jealous of a damn teddy bear.

“She was showing me a few photos from when you were kids and I saw the teddy bear, so I knew it was the same one.”

“She’ll love it man. She will be stoked that you incorporated her favorite stuffed animal in it. It’s perfect,” he says, slapping me on the back.

EXCERPT

She shakes her head no, “I won’t let you or your friends get hurt because of me. I can’t deal with anymore death on my conscience.” Putting my finger to her lips, I shush her.

“We are big boy’s sugar. We can take care of ourselves. Do not leave.” Her eyes search my face for something, and she must find what she’s looking for because she nods her head and goes to sit on the couch.

Walking back to my room, I brace myself for the shit storm that’s about to go off in there.

Before I can even close the door, shit starts flying at me from all directions.

“What the fuck are you doing Jase?” Ryder asks from beside me.

“I couldn’t fucking let that bastard hurt her for no reason. We were all fucking taught better than that in the fucking club, and I know we wouldn’t let Anslie or one of the ole’ ladies deal with that from anyone,” I grate out.

Brant shakes his head at the mention of Anslie’s name. “Difference is brother; she’s not an ole’ lady or family. We have fucking rules for a reason.”

“So you’re saying we don’t help people just because they aren’t family? Are you guys fucking kidding me? She needs us just as much as Anslie ever did!” I’m fucking pissed that they only care about people in our family.

I can see the steam pouring off my twin, and he walks over to me and gets in my face. “Fuck you Jase. Anslie is fucking family and my ole’ lady. You saying you rather give protection to some girl off the fucking street than my ole’ lady?”

Pushing Brant away, I shake my head. Turning to address the whole room that is just watching us with amused expressions, I state my fucking point.

“I fucking think we should help anyone that needs our fucking help. I sure as hell ain’t letting her fend for herself with a shithead like him out there after her. You all fucking seen that motherfucker. He has a fucking screw loose. But if it makes it fucking easier, I’ll claim her as my ole’ lady just to keep her protected. You’re so fucking concerned about rules and shit, there you go.” I walk away from Brant because I know if I don’t then I’m going to punch him. I’m still fucking pissed at him, and this is just making it worse.

Walking with her towards the door, I see a few of the women do double takes, and a few of the men check her ass out.…
As much as I want to kill any mother fucker who goes near her, I know I have to be fair since the women stare at me too.
“You know, everywhere you go, you get women staring at you like you’re the answer to their prayers,” she says, wrapping her arm around my waist and pulling me closer.
“Mmm I love when you get a little jealous baby girl,” I murmur against her hair.
“You won’t like it when I have to go all ghetto white girl on their asses for getting too close to you,” she huffs out.
“It might turn me on,” I reply.
Her head snaps towards me, and she gets a strange look on her face.
“You wouldn’t get mad if I went off on some girl who was hitting on you?”
I shake my head no, and her mouth drops open, “Really?”
“No, I wouldn’t. I’d think it’s sexy as fuck that my girl only wanted my attention on her, and would do anything to make that happen. Now I’m not saying start shit with every woman, but pick your battles.”
She nods her head, and I stop and look for the car from my parking lot earlier. Walking her over to her car, I open her car door, and help her inside. But before I close the door, she pulls me in for one last kiss.
“Are you the jealous type?” she mumbles against my lips.
“Yeah baby, so I suggest you start dressing like a nun, unless you want to see me go bat shit on the next man who thinks about touching what’s mine.”
