“Ugh! That’s it. I’m getting a boob job,” I groaned, fastening my strapless push-up bra and adjusting what little cleavage I had.

Cori walked into the bathroom and leaned over the basin to get close to the mirror. “On’t be ’upid,” she mumbled while meticulously applying her red lipstick.

“I’m not. I want tits. Big, round, perky tits.”

She turned toward me and eyed my beestings. “No, you don’t.”

“That’s easy for you to say. You have tits.”

“So do you!”

“Lies. All lies. Best friends are not supposed to lie to one another,” I huffed, lifting my arms and applying deodorant.

“Fine. You belong to the Itty Bitty Titty committee. Big deal. At least you don’t have an arse the size of a small swimming pool.” She twisted and assessed her butt.

“Pah-lease! You’ve got to be kidding. There’s nothing wrong with your arse.”

“Says you!” she mocked, pressing her lips together and blotting her lipstick. “Seriously though, listen to us. We females are never entirely happy with our appearance. Always nit-picking. Always finding faults. We’re our own worst enemies and biggest critics. And for what reason other than to highlight our flaws and feel inadequate? It’s just stupid.”

I stared down at my little breasticles with sorrow. They deserved love. It wasn’t their fault they were smaller than most. I really should treat them better. “You’re right,” I said, looking back up. “They’re underdogs, and everyone should love underdogs.”

She blotted her lips together once more. “They should.”

“In fact, I will parade my teeny puppies tonight. I will wear them with pride.”

She nodded. “Good girl.”

I hiked them in my cupped hands, feeling empowered. “I know! Let’s start a revolution.”

Cori laughed. “Let’s not. I know what your revolutions entail.”

Greatness. That’s what they entail. Pure fucking greatness.

What they had done felt better than any sexually charged daydream he had formulated in his head over the course of the past year. After several close, but unsuccessful attempts at convincing Liv for another go around in the shower before they checked out, Jax refused to give her a towel when she stepped out of the shower until she promised to finish what they had started when they got home. She had been quiet while packing their bags, a reminder not to rush her. The sex had been hard and fast, but he needed to take things with her slow and easy. Still unable to shake the small pang of fear that last night had been an isolated breakthrough; that they had finally succumbed to the sexual tension that had been suffocating both of them, but that she had no intentions of letting him back into her life. Groupies. I’ve gotta admit—the routine gets old, but the eye candy never fails to tempt me. Like I said, you only live once. “Hey, the last girl I hooked up with didn’t even know who I was,” I can’t help pointing out.

Ryder laughs. “Is that what she told you?”

I roll my eyes.

“Did you find her hidden under a rock, then? I hear those cloistered nuns are hot.” Cash grins at me, that old twinkle in his eye. He’d never mess around on Savannah, but I swear that’s made him worse than ever about hounding me to go hook up in his place.

“Actually, I met her right here in this fine establishment of ours.”

“Nice. Hooking up in the library—exactly what we had in mind,” Cash says with more than a little enthusiasm.

“You say that like we haven’t already,” Savannah butts in with a pointed eyebrow, which earns her a high-five from Cassie.

“Hey don’t change the subject,” Ryder interrupts. “You’ve been holding out on us, bro. When was this? And who, someone from school?”
“New Year’s. And nope. Never seen her before in my life. Or since, for that matter.”

It may not have been the first time a New Year’s countdown and a whole bunch of booze ended with a girl screaming my name, but this time was different. For one thing, this time I was sober enough that my memory of the way she felt beneath me in that baseball field is still seared red-hot into my brain. The number of times I’ve relived that night, her hands all over me, her breathing heavy as she urged my fingers closer to her soaking panties . . .
