Be with me.

Stay with me.

Just until I don’t need you anymore…’

When Willa Henderson flew to Chicago, she was just supposed to pack up her brother’s apartment and ship everything inside it back to LA. That included packing up his roommate’s things up as well. It was a big ask, but Dave was her big brother, so Willa agreed.

The last thing she was expecting was to run into said roommate – the intense German named, André Bauer, a photojournalist who was supposed to be in Afghanistan working for the next few weeks – on her first night there.

She also wasn’t expecting him to throw her out on her a** without even trying to let her explain who she was and why she was there.

Let’s just say it was…hate at first sight.

From the moment they met, they didn’t like each other, and neither of them really had any interest in changing that fact. But one thing they did know, was that they were unequivocally attracted, and it didn’t take too long for them to collide.

With both of them screwed up by their pasts, neither of them could handle a relationship if they tried –

André is a self-confessed a**hole.

Willa is a self-confessed commitment-phone and gets angry whenever she feels.

Then there’s Willa’s brother, who could very well kill André if he found out he’d slept with his sister.

But, when desires go unchecked, there’s little that can change the outcome, and eventually Willa and André agreed to give in – just until they got each other out of their system.

They expected it would take a week, maybe two. Then they could walk away without anyone getting hurt.

Before each other, that arrangement might have worked out, but there was something there – an intensity they couldn’t explain.

As layers are peeled back and secrets are revealed, they find themselves in a state of need that neither was prepared for…

Before You is a standalone contemporary romance with no cliffhanger and its own HEA

Excerpt

We landed against the wall just inside the door.“Maybe we should set down some ground rules,” I gasped between kisses as I pushed his shirt up over his head and threw it on the ground. I ran my hands down the hard muscles of his chest, between his abs then stopped at the button of his jeans.

Bowing his head, he kissed and gently bit my neck. For a moment, my mind was empty as his tongue moved along my jaw.

“What kind of rules?” he whispered, sliding his hands underneath my shirt and running his warm palms over the flesh at my waist.

“Um…” His hands moved over my breasts, practically ghosting them. I wanted him to grab them, knead them. My nipples went hard at the thought.

“Rules?” he prompted, removing his hands then lifting my shirt over my head. Immediately, he grabbed my breasts and squeezed like he knew exactly what I wanted. Then he pressed a kiss to my cleavage, and my fingers slid into his hair.

“Don’t tell me I’m beautiful. I hate it when guys do that when they get you naked.”

“But you are beautiful.”

“Just don’t. Please.”

“Fine.”

“And we only do this when we’re alone. Nothing public.”

“What else?” he asked, slipping his fingers beneath my bra strap, kissing my shoulder as he slid it off then unclasped my bra.

“No sleeping.”

“Morning sex is amazing. I don’t agree to that.”

“Sleeping is too intimate. We can…oh”

His mouth closed over my nipple as his arm wrapped around my waist and he pulled me against him possessively.

“There will be sleeping, Willa,” he said firmly when he stopped and stood upright, his fingers gently tweaking my nipple as he looked into my eyes. “Anything else?”

Excerpt:

Walking with her towards the door, I see a few of the women do double takes, and a few of the men check her ass out.
As much as I want to kill any mother fucker who goes near her, I know I have to be fair since the women stare at me too.
“You know, everywhere you go, you get women staring at you like you’re the answer to their prayers,” she says, wrapping her arm around my waist and pulling me closer.
“Mmm I love when you get a little jealous baby girl,” I murmur against her hair.
“You won’t like it when I have to go all ghetto white girl on their asses for getting too close to you,” she huffs out.
“It might turn me on,” I reply.
Her head snaps towards me, and she gets a strange look on her face.
“You wouldn’t get mad if I went off on some girl who was hitting on you?”
I shake my head no, and her mouth drops open, “Really?”
“No, I wouldn’t. I’d think it’s sexy as fuck that my girl only wanted my attention on her, and would do anything to make that happen. Now I’m not saying start shit with every woman, but pick your battles.”
She nods her head, and I stop and look for the car from my parking lot earlier. Walking her over to her car, I open her car door, and help her inside. But before I close the door, she pulls me in for one last kiss.
“Are you the jealous type?” she mumbles against my lips.
“Yeah baby, so I suggest you start dressing like a nun, unless you want to see me go bat shit on the next man who thinks about touching what’s mine.”

I look up into the mirror and see the female bartender from last night leaning against the counter top behind me. It’s clear that she was waiting for me, so I continue on with my task, but raise an eyebrow in question.

She eyes my curves with disdain and unconsciously smoothes a hand over her slender frame, brushing away non-existent wrinkles. “Phin mentioned that you are old friends,” she snips.

“Yes,” I answer flatly, using a paper towel to dry my hands.

“I wouldn’t read too much into him taking you out,” she warns, “He isn’t the type to settle down.” She does another once over, then molds her face into what I’m assuming is supposed to be sympathetic, but instead, makes her look like Miss Piggy with overly wide eyes and her scrunched nose in the air. “If I couldn’t get him to settle down, no one can.” Now her look turns stubborn with a side of menacing, “So, don’t try to fight for him; you’ll lose.”

One mental eye roll and a satisfying vision of a bitch slap later, I quip, “Thanks for the heads up, but ‘I, moiself, have always enjoyed a good scrimmage.’” Oink, oink. I immediately turn toward the door, dismissing her and ending this high school-esque conversation. I don’t even throw out a “Boo, you whore” on my way out. Score one for being a grownup—mostly. I may have indulged in imagining the door smacking her in the face and permanently scrunching up her nose.

about round.jpg

I’m a lover of all things books, a hopeless romantic, and have always had a passion for writing. Between being a sappy romantic, my love of an HEA, my crazy imagination, and ok, let’s be real, my dirty mind, I fell easily into writing romance.

I’m a huge baseball fan and yet, a complete girly, girl. I’m an obsessive reader and have a slight (hahaha! Slight? Yeah, right) addiction to signed books.

I’m married to my very own book boyfriend, an alpha male with a sexy, sweet side. He is the best inspiration, my biggest supporter and the love of my life. He is also incredibly patient and understanding about the fact that he has to fight the voices in my head for my attention.

I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them!

Excper round.jpg

Staring into a full length mirror, I admired the A-line shape of the dress I’d purchased to wear to the café. The top was fitted with a low neckline that revealed too much cleavage, but the look gave me a dangerously sexy appeal that I hoped would compete with Brigitte.

Why was I even trying to compete with her?

Jagger was an impossible relationship. He was heat and desire, fantasy and everything a girl could dream about on a lonely night. But, whereas in fantasy he was the perfect catch, in reality he was a much more dangerous thing. He was heartache and uncertainty, a constant variable whose actions you could never predict.

He was one night, maybe two, and that’s all Jagger could ever truly be.

I didn’t want one night. I wanted an eternity of nights, which is why I couldn’t allow myself to want Jagger.

Heavily, I breathed out, brushing my dress down one more time before I stepped out of the large closet and into the living room of our suite.

“Holy…” Jagger’s voice trailed off, his eyes wide and his mouth held agape.

Shaking himself of his obvious shock, he said, “You look amazing, JJ. I’ve never seen you look so much like…a girl.”

I couldn’t fault him for the stupid comment. I was never the type to wear dresses that often.

“Thank you,” I mumbled. Feeling a desperate need to retreat away from him, I said, “I’m going to go check on the girls. We have to get going soon and they need to finish getting ready.

“Wait,” he begged.

Turning back to face him, my hand hovered over the knob of the door. I couldn’t meet his stare, couldn’t stand the admiration I saw behind the striking blue color of his eyes.

He looked amazing that night. His hair was pulled back into a loose bun at the nape of his neck, black strands hanging down along his jawline. A shadow of stubble covered his cheeks, the dark hair creating shadows along his cheekbones. He wore a loose, black linen shirt, the top buttons of which were undone so that a woman could admire the cut of his pecs. With broad shoulders and thick arms, his body thinned down to narrow hips. His legs were covered with dark jeans and his feet by the standard black boots he always wore.

He was absolutely beautiful.

I’d become lost just looking at him, only snapped back to the moment when he asked, “What’s wrong with you, Jessa? You’ve been distant since we took the girls shopping.”

Saved by a knock at the door, I felt a sudden relief at the distraction. I didn’t want to answer his question because I didn’t know want to admit the truth.

“Jessa? Jagger? We’re ready. Elena says we’re running late. She’s been watching the clock.”

Spinning around, I smiled at Monica. “We’re ready. Let’s go.”

Following her into the hall, I grabbed the handle to shut the door, hesitating only for a second when Jagger called my name. Ignoring him, I shut the door behind me.

I was a coward for running away, but it was the only option I had.

* * *

“He plays like he’s making love to his guitar. Don’t you think? An absolute talent that is natural and raw. The sound of his voice alone gives me the chills.”

Brigitte had cornered me by the bar. For a good half hour, I’d been able to avoid her after arriving to the café, but I hadn’t failed to notice how her eyes followed me as soon as she realized I was with Jagger. We’d played a game of cat and mouse for most of the time that I’d been here, and I’d used the girls to keep my distance.

After a while, Lizzy wanted a drink, but none of the girls wanted to leave the table that was front row, center to the stage while Jagger was playing. As soon as I left the safety of the group, the little snake-like bitch followed me over to give me the third degree.

Her snotty voice gave me the chills, but I wasn’t about to admit that to her. “Yeah. Jagger is very talented.”

She smiled, the low lighting in the room reflecting off the red gloss of her lips. “In many ways, I’m sure.” Lust flashed behind her eyes before she asked, “Is Jagger your boyfriend? You’re a very lucky girl, if so.”

I was tempted to lie and claim that he was, but I didn’t want to give Jagger the wrong idea if Little Miss Sultry decided to corner him later on and blab about what I’d said.

“He’s my stepbrother. Our parents got married when we were kids. We’re here escorting our little sister, Elena, around Paris for her birthday.”

If I acted like I didn’t care, she wouldn’t know she’d gotten to me.

Another saccharine grin pulled across her lovely face. “Ah yes, he mentioned the birthday trip. How wonderfully domestic of him,” she droned.

My eyes rounded at the nastiness in her tone. “There’s nothing wrong with taking a family vacation,” I argued.

Glancing at me like she’d just forgotten I was even there, she flashed me a brilliant smile. “Of course, dear. But Jagger is rock star material. You can’t teach someone to do what he does. If he wants to shoot to the top quickly, he needs to be a fantasy. The ultimate bad boy. You know the type. He oozes that persona already. That’s why I find it odd he would agree to a family summer vacation.”

I wouldn’t let myself react. She was trying to get to me.

“To each his own. Jagger happens to like his family. There’s nothing wrong with that,” I answered.

Grabbing Lizzy’s drink from the bar, I scooted past Brigitte and crossed the room to sit with the girls. The room was mostly dark except for the lights above Jagger’s head. His eyes were closed as he sang, his hands moving over the strings of his guitar like a lover’s hand would stroke over your body. He’d become lost to the music, and by doing so, had enchanted every person in the room with his sound.

Every so often he would open his lovely eyes and lock them with mine. I wasn’t sure what I saw behind the blue, but what I heard in his voice made me quiver inside. Love, passion, devotion…all of it was wrapped up in the words he sang.

I couldn’t deny him his talent. He had the voice of a dark angel and the talent to play any instrument he wanted. My heart fluttered in my chest at the words of his song, and I fought not to fall in love with Jagger all over again.

No matter how hard I fought, I was easily losing. He was hypnotic when he was on stage, a man that no woman could forget. Tears stung my eyes after he played several songs because it hurt so bad to know that I could never, truly, have him.

When his set was done, and after he’d left the entire audience entranced, he excused himself from the stage. I assumed he would come over to talk to the girls…or me…but he was confronted by Brigitte before he could make it down the steps. I watched as that bitch kissed him on both cheeks, pressing her body against his before grabbing his hand and leading him into the back room.

My heart broke into a million shards when, after five minutes, he didn’t reemerge.

“Where’s Jagger, JJ?”

Elena looked up at me with tired, questioning eyes. Looking at my watch, I realized how late it was at that time and decided not to wait for Jagger any longer.

“He had to talk to his friend backstage. He’ll meet us later at the hotel.”

The girls looked disappointed, their little broken hearts worn on their sleeves. I hated to admit I felt the same pain as them at the moment.

Leading the group out of the café, I swore under my breath, angrier than hell that Jagger had ditched us all for a French bimbo in a tight skirt.

The last one? Yeah. That’s all me.

She’s driven and demanding…

I wasn’t always a bitch. There’s a dirty little trick to succeeding in business: the sweet and innocent rarely survive. I fought my way up from nothing, and I don’t bend for anyone.

Until Will Halsted ties me to a headboard and makes me his…for now.

Or is it?

He’s never walked away from a challenge…

I wasn’t always a warrior but now it’s in my bones and blood. That’s what years spent in the Special Forces does to a man. My entire life is classified: where I’ve been, what I’ve seen, what I’ve done, and there’s no mission too dangerous.

Until I realize that falling for Shannon Walsh is like trying to swim against a riptide. She’s going to tear me up and toss me to the shore, and I’ll love every minute of it.

Every time I’m down range, I want her counting the hours until I’m back. Waiting for me. She’s done it before; she’ll do it again.

Her pale brows drew together in a vicious scowl, and I recognized I was wrong about Shannon. She wasn’t a socialite, not at all. She was a fighter, and a scrappy one at that.

“In other words,” she said, “I run this town and I don’t need any help doing it.”

She shrugged and now that shoulder was all the way exposed. A wild splash of freckles ran across her skin, and I was too tired, too fed up with this conversation, too tightly wound to do anything but imagine tasting her right there. I pushed off from the counter and stared at the sea, all while searching for enough discipline to make it back to my room without doing something unbelievably stupid.

But instead of leaving the bar right then, I stopped beside Shannon and studied those freckles. “Like the tail of a comet,” I murmured.

I reached out and traced a line from the ball of her shoulder across her collarbone. Then my gaze shifted to her mouth and those defiant, sinful lips, and my other hand was sliding up her neck and into her hair.

I didn’t know why I did it. Maybe it had been too long since I touched a woman. Maybe I couldn’t handle the post-deployment horny as well as I used to. Or maybe…maybe I wanted to get into a power struggle with Shortcake.

My forehead rested against Shannon’s as I moved into her space, crowding her and feeling all five-foot-nothing of her pressed against me.

“What are you doing?” she whispered.

“Waiting for you to stop me,” I said against her lips.

Fighting Solitude
Prologue

“Mia!” I shouted.
It was worthless. She’d been deaf since the day I met her.
She’d never once heard my voice.
She’d never heard the deep rumble of my laugh when she was excited, signing so fast I could barely keep up.
She’d never heard my content sigh when she barged into the locker room after a fight—just her presence soothed the lingering madness brewing within me.
She’d never heard me whispering my deepest fears into her ear as she fell asleep on top of me.
She’d never heard the reverence in which I cried her name each and every time I took her body.
And she’d never once heard the ease in which the words I love you tumbled from my lips as I stared into her deep, jade green eyes.
But as I screamed her name while watching her petite body seizing in the passenger seat beside me, I’d never needed her to hear me more.
“Mia. Oh God. I’ve got you, baby.”
She was still thrashing violently as I made my way around to her door, yanking it open while pleading with whatever god was willing to help.
When she stilled, a whole new level of silence filled the air around us. It wasn’t the absence of sound.
It was the absence of life.
“Mia, breathe!” I roared as her chest remained agonizingly still. “Help me!” I screamed at the closed emergency room doors, but no medical savior rushed out with the miracle I so desperately needed.
My hands shook wildly as I released her lifeless body from the seatbelt.
“I’ve got you, just hang on. Please just hang on, Mia,” I whispered lifting her into my arms and sprinting through the sliding doors. “I need a doctor! She’s not breathing!”
Nurses rushed towards me in slow motion as the seconds without air in her lungs passed at a terrifying speed.
Breathe.
A doctor appeared with a gurney and quickly took her from my arms.
The immediate loss was staggering.
Hope became my only solace.
She needed help that I wasn’t capable of giving her, but that didn’t stop me from following close behind as they rolled her away. I was on the verge of self-destructing; letting her out of my sight wasn’t an option.
I stood motionless in the doorway while doctors and nurses swarmed around her. Their mouths moved frantically, but without my hearing aids I was worthless to make out the words their faint voices carried.
I never wore my hearing aids when I was with Mia. There was no point. She rarely spoke with her voice.
We’d spent four years building a relationship with our hands.
Those hands had told me animated stories that made me laugh until my face hurt from smiling.
They’d fought with me relentlessly, but always ended the night raking down my back in silent ecstasy.
Her fingers had fluidly signed I love you more times than I could ever count—or forget.
But as I felt the nurse attempting to physically remove me from the room, my eyes became fixated on her limp hand dangling off the side of the bed. It was the only sight more frightening than watching her flail mid-seizure.
It ripped the heart straight from my chest.
That hand was supposed to be full of life.
It was the very essence of Mia.
Pale.
White.
Still.
Oh God.
Sucking in a deep breath, I held it until the room began to spin.
It provided me no relief even as it forced me to my knees.
There would be no distraction from this.
I was going to lose her.
Yet another woman I couldn’t save.

EXCERPT/PRE-RELEASE BLITZ ~ Kingpin by Lili St Germain

EXCERPT ONE

John’s poker face disappeared, morphing into something that looked equal parts lust and rage. His hands found my wrists again, pushed me roughly so my back settled against the tiles once more.
‘What do you do when you want something you can’t have?’ he ground out. His blue eyes were bright, a dead giveaway about the state of his mind. When he fired up, they spoke loud and clear. I knew because I’d been looking away from them for years, afraid that if I stared too long, I’d get lost in them. And I could absolutely, definitely, categorically, not get lost in John Portland’s eyes for even one second.
He. Was. Dornan’s. Best. Friend.
‘I wait,’ I whispered, my own convictions sliding away like melted butter as he rested a hand on my hip, just above my panties, and squeezed.
‘And then?’
I thought about the money I’d stockpiled. Emilio’s dirty money. My escape plan, for a rainy day. And it was pouring with rain right now.
‘When nobody’s looking, I take it.’
His eyes burned into me.
‘Nobody’s looking, Ana.’
Something inside me snapped, like an elastic band that had been pulled and pulled until it broke apart. I was starving. Not for food. For affection. For understanding. For the touch of a man who wasn’t trying to hurt me.
We came together in a frenzy, lips crashing on lips, hands everywhere. I pulled him close to me, sighing into his mouth as I felt how hard he was against me, only his jeans separating us.

EXCERPT TWO

‘Mariana,’ he’d whispered. He put his finger underneath my chin again and tilted it up, so I had no choice but to meet his cerulean gaze.
‘What?’ I asked.
‘If you change your mind—if you decide one day you need to leave—you tell me. And I’ll help you, okay? I’ll make sure they can’t find you. Dornan’s my friend—my best friend. But he’s also Emilio’s son, and there are things he cannot control.’
I burst into tears, covering my face with my hands. I’d been theirs for two years by then, two years where the only visitor I got was Dornan, and the only person I spoke to every day was myself, in the mirror, talking myself out of doing something crazy like killing myself. And I loved Dornan. But I hated my life.
‘You don’t understand,’ I said finally. ‘He loves me. He saved me.’
John looked at me sadly, the smile fading from his face.
‘You call this saved?’

The second scorching novel in the USA Today bestselling Cartel trilogy from the smash-hit author Lili St Germain.

They say love conquers all.
It’s a lie.
Five days a week, I dressed in smart business clothes. I painted my face, and went to work as an accountant. But nothing about my life was normal.
For eight years I had been the property of the Gypsy Brothers Motorcycle Club. I laundered their money so well they’d never let me leave. My only glimmer of light was the man I loved. The man who had saved me.
Dornan.
His love had been the only thing that kept the demons at bay. But he’d become so immersed in the cartel’s brutal business that I hardly knew him anymore.
Dornan had been my salvation, but he was also my undoing.
Would he pull me down into the darkness until he destroyed me? Could I save him?
Did I even want to?
