Road rash and Jack meets handcuffs and street smarts.
I am a wandering disaster.
A hedonist, a lover, a son, and a rebel.
My name is Yuma.
I’m sober enough to see the need for redemption, but too blind to realize I already found it.
I am an independent seeker.
An overachiever, a friend, a misfit, and a cop.
My name is Lissie.
I’m determined enough to find acceptance, but too stubborn to see all I need is my own.
We shouldn’t get involved—all the odds are against us—but when bodies turn up on common ground and lines between duty and purpose get blurred, our future becomes clear.

BLP REVIEW – Tracy
Who’d have thought that I was gonna like Yuma as much as I did…. coming in from what we knew of him from book 1 in the series he seemed like he was off the rails and gonna be a bit of a lost cause – then enters Ms Barker who makes you fall in love with the broken, hedonistic manwhore that we encountered in Edge of Reason
Gods did I love his character…. so much so that I didn’t want his and Lissie’s book to end!
Damn, I need to backtrack…. We’ve met Lissie before and she came across as a bit of a rule following, tough nut to crack, but unbeknownst to us, that tough exterior hides a broken and lost soul. Lissie has family who consider that she isn’t gonna measure up to their expectations (we all know some like that I’m sure!) so she’s moved to Durango to live her life and work somewhere no-one knows her.
Yuma has been away, getting his head straight after everything that went down in the previous book and he’s back, trying to stay on track and get his life back together. He still manages to stuff things up a time or two but thankfully Lissie is a stronger person with a huge capacity for forgiveness and understanding.
There’s an definite off the bat attraction between this pair and we later find out that they have more in common than they realise to begin with.
As ever, Freya gave us older, maturer characters who, though they still had their own demons to fight, could see light and a future for themselves and gods, how I loved this pair together.
Character development and growth was excellent and I hope we see more of their future as the series continues.
We catch up with characters past, find out what’s going on in their lives, meet potential new couples and other figures who I’m hoping we’ll learn more about.
Family is such a strong theme throughout Freya Barker’s books – be that blood or the family that is put together through choice or circumstance and that theme was continued in Edge of Darkness
If you haven’t yet checked out the Arrow’s Edge MC series you’re so missing out and I’d definitely recommend you start at the beginning to fully appreciate all that happens in this second book.
