EXCERPT

Sunlight reflected off of Derek’s silver cigarette case, as he retrieved it from his shirt pocket, causing Emerald to turn away when it flashed on her eyes. Taking a cigarette from the case, he tapped it on the lid and flipped open his lighter. Emerald watched him place the cigarette between his lips and suck as the flame heated the cigarette to life and smoke blew out of his nostrils. It was a disgusting habit, but somehow Derek made it look sexy as hell. She could almost taste the bitter tang of smoke from his breath as she licked her lips, a tinge of excitement causing a delicious lightness in her chest. She held back the urge to giggle, he’d only judge her with something scandalous. How would she explain getting turned on by a man lighting a cigarette?

Jennifer Rose lives the glamorous life in Canada working as a part-time office clerk/manager. A mother of three grown boys, she decided to give up cleaning, cooking and day to day household chores in favor of sitting with a favorite beverage, be it coffee or wine and her trusty laptop, after a friend and author convinced her that she had what it took to write romance novels, so she took a creative writing course and finally started writing.
