Upcoming Release ~ A MAJOR ATTRACTION by MARIE HARTE

A MAJOR ATTRACTION

It’s not long until Tuesday (6 May) and the release of the first book
in the new ‘GOOD TO GO’ series by Marie Harte.

Book 1

U.S. Marine Major Kyle Waters has recently returned home after months at sea. He desperately wants some well-deserved rest, but his pleasant dreams turn from downright sinful into a nightmare when he wakes up, his arms full of a deliciously naked and thoroughly panicked Olivia Cava—the woman he’s been fantasizing about for months.

Kyle’s scheming ex-girlfriend has maneuvered Olivia into rooming with the sexy man of her dreams. Olivia’s a professional, a career woman who finds herself drawn to Kyle, as she’s been since she first laid eyes on him. Growing up as the daughter of a career military man, she’s vowed never to get involved with a Marine. Yet Kyle stirs something inside her, and she finds herself saying yes when she means to say no.

Their life goals seem worlds apart, but love will find a way. Until Kyle’s past relationship threatens to ruin the future he has only just found with Olivia. Can the truth set him free? And can Olivia put aside her five-year plan and her heartache to forgive a stubborn Marine bent on loving her…forever?

Here’s a wee R Rated Excerpt from A MAJOR ATTRACTION!!!

Then what Kyle said hit her. “You did this so I’d have my own space?”

He nodded. “You’re paying half the rent. It’s only right you have your own room, now that I’m hogging a good bit of the other one.”

“Yes, well.” She tried to sound more enthusiastic. He’d done something nice for her. No matter that the thought of not sharing his bed made her want to weep. It wasn’t just the sex. Sleeping next to him had made her feel so close, so emotionally attached. Which made no sense, really.

She’d only just begun to know him.

She was stupid for feeling hurt. How could she expect to sleep with the man each night? Though they’d technically met a year ago, serving him coffee with a smile hadn’t necessitated a name exchange. It was only yesterday that they’d finally had a decent conversation.

“Olivia?” Kyle stared at her with concern, an odd glint in his eyes. They twinkled like emeralds, and she had an uneasy suspicion he was secretly toying with her.

“Kyle?” she answered coolly. Was Maria right? Was Kyle out for a quick lay? Since he’d already had her, did he no longer want anything intimate to do with her? A man with his looks would have no problem whatsoever finding female companionship.

“I was kind of hoping you’d be happier about this. I did it for you.”

She cleared her throat and pasted a smile. “I am happy. Thank you.”

“Well.” He pursed his lips and glanced at the bed. “I thought you might want to thank me properly.”

“Properly?” Olivia followed his gaze to the bed in confusion. Did he still want her? And why should she care if he did or not? She had plenty of offers from men all the time. When she wanted sex, she could easily obtain it.

“I thought you might let me christen the bed.” He smiled at her, and that quickly, she wanted him.

“Maybe.” She took pause, trying to think clearly without images of naked Kyle ruining her resolve. Did she really want to have sex with Kyle again without establishing some rules? Fulfilling her fantasies last night was one thing, but now that she’d started to grow addicted to him, rules might be just the thing to protect her heart.

He shook his head. “Tsk, tsk.” He grabbed the hem of her shirt. “You’re thinking too much, baby. Let me ease you after such a hard day’s work.”
Utterly enraptured by his honeyed voice, she lifted her arms as he smooth-talked his way around her common sense.

“Oh yeah.” He groaned and cupped her breasts. “Another lace bra. I love these things.” He rubbed her nipples, making them sensitive and tight all too quickly.

“Kyle. Why don’t you—”

“Yes, why don’t I?” He lowered his head and took her nipple between his lips through the lace. He soaked the material, gently biting her flesh until she couldn’t stop herself from pressing close.

A little about Marie!!!

MH2cropped
I’ve been writing as far back as I can remember. Interest in the written word, no doubt spawned by my English teacher father, continues to this day. I’m a voracious reader, gobbling everything from romance to horror to fantasy and more. I’m in love with the art of putting pen to paper…so to speak.

I majored in English from Penn State University, earning a B.A. in Liberal Arts, as well as a commission in the United States Marine Corps. Five years later, after serving as a communications officer, I left the service to focus more on family. After going through an assortment of jobs–the Marine Corps Reserve, a government contracted agency as an IT representative, a middle manager for a Fortune 500 transportation company–I stopped working to raise two new additions to the family–my youngest sons. During this period, I decided to stop dreaming and start seriously writing.

In December of 2004 my first story was published, and I haven’t looked back since.  I currently have over eighty titles with Ellora’s Cave, Loose Id, Samhain, and Total E-Bound.

I’ve received several awards to include: the 2005 Passionate Plume for Scifi/fantasy romance, the 2006 Amber Quill Heat Wave contest winner, 1st Place in Steamy Erotic romance for the 2006 Lories, finalist in the 2007 Linda Howard Award of Excellence, finalist in the 2008 Reveal Your Inner Vixen MRWA contest, and finalist in the 2012 Reveal Your Inner Vixen MRWA contest. Some facts about me

  • I’m a mood reader. If I read a book with a bad ending, it throws me into a funk for days.
  • If it’s paranormal, I’m digging it.
  • I majored in English but never read Charles Dickens until a few years ago. I have yet to read Jane Austen. Seriously.
  • I’m naturally lazy but perform best under deadlines.
  • I’ve fired a 9mm pistol, a Squad Automatic Weapon, an M16A2 rifle, an M203 grenade launcher, and have thrown live grenades. And I loved it!
  • Grammar is my rock. I respect those who know when to use their, there and they’re correctly.
  • I’m definitely a night owl.
  • I love books.  I’ll read until they bury me, and then I’ll haunt libraries.
  • I can’t write to music or television.  I need perfect quiet.
